Have been going here for years. The owner and wait staff will always go above and beyond to help you with whatever you need. The food is incredible with a wide selection and so delicious. To top it all off the different drinks from tea and coffee to milkshake that will blow you away.

What can one say about Caffe Velo Verde other than it has become a cyclists mecca. Easy to order food and drink. The outside seating is perfect on a sunny day, and there is covered and indoor seating. We couldn't recommend it or the owners more highly. It is a grand place to aim for on a cycling trip for relaxing, refreshing, and then riding out renewed. I particularly recommend the sausage baps with brown sauce 😋🚴♀️🚴🚴♀️🚴🚴

Friday evening, table booked for two with dog at 19.00. We arrived half an hour early and ordered o couple of 'local ciders'; one was Devon, one Somerset so all good so far. We were told we could order food as we liked, regardless of being super early and we were shown which table was ours. Our dog enjoyed some banter with a couple of local mutts which nobody seemed to worry about and we settled in at the table opposite the bar. After a couple more scoops we ordered from the large blackboard menu; the overall choice was a mix of modern tastes (Mac and cheese, bang bang cauliflower, vegan African curry), old favourites (fish & chips, ham, egg and chips, pie, scampi, steak) and home cooked beauties (lamb three ways, bhuna curry, braidsed shin of beef). We ordered a stater of sweet and sour battered prawns and some belly pork cubes. Both presented after a decent cooking time and both looked delicious. The prawns were huge and were lightly battered and the pork tender and super tasty. These weren't waiting out the back, they were cooked to order, absolutely delicious and presented with various comforting sauce drizzles, the odd roasted nut and a variety of salad leaves. Mains followed, a local venison pie with chips and the burger with fries. The shortcrust pie came with tasty gravy and a really well cooked vegetable dish of suede / carrot mash and broccoli and cabbage and the burger was cooked medium with a soft bun, cheese, tomato, lettuce and battered onion rings. Both were hefty but really delicious and whilst we both struggled to empty the plate we really enjoyed them. The food was amazing but what was absolute was the immaculate service from the gent and lady at the bar (presumably the owners) and the young lad who ran between tables, checking on overall satisfaction. We have been here previously but this is our first review; we're walking in the area tomorrow and will definitely stop in, that said I believe the rugby is on their big projector so it may be o different experience, albeit the landlord invited us to let him know when we'd be coming and he'd look after us. Genuine gem of a pub; food great, service warm, Locals friendly and dogs very welcome.

The afternoon tea was truly delightful, offering fresh and delicious food that was as visually appealing as it was tasty. The beautiful ambiance perfectly captured an olden touch, adding a charming layer to the event. Valentina provided exceptional customer service, ensuring that every need was met with a warm smile. It’s perfect for those looking to indulge in a traditional yet modernly executed afternoon tea.
