Portion size was small on specials, and the mixed meat was way to spicy, had meat from loads of places and never been an issue, lots left over as kids and the wife didnt like it due to spice levels

Sat in the restaurant for the first time in years. I had gammon and chips with a pineapple relish which was gorgeous - i wish they would sell it by the jar. Portion was huge, food was lovely. Staff were excellent!

2 portions of fish and chips (takeaway) purchased 09/10/24 with one tub of curry sauce to share. Chips - Tasteless. They were very obviously re-heated or re-cooked because they were very hard and could possibly have been warmed up, from being cooked already, frozen chips. Fish - Mine was ok. Fish cooked nicely with crunchy batter evenly coated. One and a half pieces of fish per portion of fish and chips at £10.50 a pop was not good value given the size of the fish pieces. The grease in the box was phenomenal My partner was violently sick and threw the fish up during the night although he didn't detect anything wrong when he was eating but he did eat far more of his chips than I could manage. The curry sauce didn't go far over mine after putting a hearty amount over my partners therefore I can't comment on it apart from that because a few of the tasteless chips absorbed it making them appear to taste better. Won't be back!

Best fish and chip shop in chippingham since we have moved up to chippingham from London. we have had takeaways from here. Most Friday, they are really nice helpful staff and owner good choice, speedy service with a simple nice food always still hot when we get home thank you 😊

Staying at the Jacobean manor for big celebration! We needed chips to accompany food we already had Called in The Big Fish.. lovely staff fun chatting with the guy serving our food We ordered 12 boxes & 4 curry sauces all served up in 3 mins from receipt on till.. must say the best chips we have tasted like being at the seaside as a kid.. Have tried this chippy a number of times, I always order a large chips that I normally eat over three meals. When I got to the shop it was busy. Another lady before me ordered a regular chips portion and then i ordered a large portion. a guy served both of us and when served the regular portion to the other lady i was like ooh not a bad size. When my turn came I noticed the portion this time was more regular size and I reminded him that I ordered a large portion and he said that’s a large size. Only to get home and realised the large chips were like half the portion I usually get. Not happy with the service, maybe it’s time I go to another chippy shop.
