Dhillons Fish Bar in Leicester

Hunters has been my favourite chippy for some time. The chips are brill, the batter on the fish is always thin, very crispy, not oily or soggy, and the place is immaculately clean. I cannot fault it at all from my experience.

Food was good but they need more staff and a bit more organisation know one knows where to queue or who and where to pay.

Cooked on the premises while your waiting very tasty n reasonable price and very friendly couple

Fresh food cooked to order. Clean and professional staff. Very nice.

Ordered large fish and regular chips. She said 5-6 minutes to fry fish which is normal but guy cooked it in 3-4 mins. Got home fish was soggy and falling apart off skin obviously not cooked properly. Had to throw food away. Was near closing time so he rushed it..won't be visiting again.

Lovely place, and yes the chips are cooked in a separate fryer and they have said it’s halal. Portion is good and love the vinegar.

I have not been disappointed with the fish and chips. Fried fresh when you place your order. Lovely batter on the fish. Cash only. Also takes phone orders.

These are the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time, very unique flavour. I love the thin cut chips and the fish is always fresh and the batter delicious. I find them both lovely people.

Lovely food, but owner is extremely miserable, has no customer service skills, gives unbelievable daggers to his poor partner - who seems lovely.

Spotless shop, quick efficient service and most importantly delicious freshly cooked food.

Iv been pass this shop but never tried it. I went in for quick portion of chips this time and its best iv tried in a long time. Will definitely be coming back to try other things but i could not fault from price, service and quality of food. I think its run by married couple, good team work and very clean shop. Keep up the good work guys. See you soon.

Only getting one star because can't give a zero, what a pathetic excuse of a place, all the 5 star reviews look bogus the lower ones are more relatable. Rubbish over priced food paid for by silly people who think £2.10 for a cone of chips is reasonable. Took cash only during the pandemic = tax fraud. Disgusting customer service, I agree with the comments about the Chinese guy, such a rude human being.

Favourite fish bar. Love the salad pitta and the fish is always cooked just right, fresh, with crisp batter. Very clean. Friendly.

This is the best fish and chips place in Leicester! Fresh fish and the chips are perfectly cut and cooked to perfection! Friendly service and always busy! Totally missed this place at the start of lockdown !

Have not been here for some still a good place to visit for local chips and spring rolls.

Another local fish and chips establishment and a good one it is too the spring rolls are nice the staff here are always very friendly and welcoming, could do with the ventilation process be more efficient just my opinion overall a good clean and nice place.

The fish is fresh to order so the batter is lovely and crisp. The shop is lovely and clean. Plenty to choose from on the menu. I had a fish and chips with beans and everything was perfect. Friendly staff. Would happily go again.

Always freshly cooked food; best fish and chip shop in town. Wait is a bit longer, but the crispy batter is definitely worth it. Beats a sweaty, lukewarm counter fish.

I have never experienced such disgusting meal in my life chips were stale like they were few days old and have just been reheated in the deep fryer staff often don't wash there hands and sneeze in your food no air con behind counter visible sweat can be seen dripping off staff on food absolute shocked they are allowed to trade

Friday 24th 2019. Chips were smothered in salt. The colour of the chips were yellow dirty yellow like they had been cooked in dirty oil proper soggy. Steak n kidney pie was like cutting into wood. Very disappointed today as I use the shop regular every friday's for the last what 10 years. But after today naa! It na work no more Ive had 2 miss work tonight eating from hunters today. Vomiting n runs! If u no what I mean. Didn't even want 2 give it 1 star but had 2 cuz I won't be able 2 highlight the post.

Terrible service, ignorant staff will never use again

I have never waited so long for 2 pieces of fish, over half an hour, wouldn't mind if it was busy at the time I went,, staff don't seem to know what's left or right. But I will say food was nice, Waiting time diabolical!!!!!!!!!

The queueing system, or lack of, is appalling in here and the staff seem oblivious of who is waiting. The result is you either stand ignored, when everyone else has been served, or push in and annoy people that haven’t. The staff don’t even acknowledge you. Food is decent but service is not. Won’t be back.

Good quality, fresh fish that was made in a timely manner. The server was very polite and professional. Up there amongst the best in Leicester and deserves the positive reviews it has received to date :)

Poor customer service, the guy that runs it now the Chinese guy is a miserable git. Needs to be taught what customer service is. Also the food is overpriced and not all that. Took a picture of the lettuce which looked as though it had been there for weeks, it’s a shame it doesn’t allow me to update it on here.

Horrid service abc expect to wait 30 mins for order.avoid and go to Atlantis on Uppingham Rd or Houghton .
