We recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful bottomless brunch at Middletons in Leicester to celebrate our first anniversary. The two-hour experience was fantastic as the staff, especially Julia, were lovely and provided attentive service. My wife and I savoured the delicious burger and steak, and the special anniversary brownie with strawberries was a delightful touch. We were also impressed by the variety and quality of drinks, including the bottle of prosecco and six well-made cocktails each. Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable experience that we would highly recommend.

We have eaten here 3 times. The meat dishes were good, in particolar the Wellington fillet. However we do not suggest the fish and chips because the portion was very small for the price Good atmosphere and kind service. .

Booked our wedding meal at Middletons from the start Julia looked after us and made the pre order easy and were so accommodating, the food was amazing and the service was fantastic the drinks kept flowing, it was a great night. Julia,Eshe and Duane looked after us even the chef came out to make sure we all enjoyed our food which was a nice touch, everyone has said the food was delicious. Thank you so much.

We visited to try the lunch set menu. Really tasty garlic mushrooms and croquettes followed by an excellent steak baguette. Lovely historic building and good service from Duane. We'll definitely return

Duane provided us friendly and welcoming service for our anniversary dinner. Him and the kitchen surprised us with a lovely surprise on our desserts. Reggie was our drinks server for the night and provided us quality service, and amazing drinks. Both Duane and Reggie made tonight one of the best nights we’ve had.

I booked my graduation dinner at Middletons, and the service was amazing! The food was so good we came back two days later. Both times we were served by Joe B, who was soooo attentive to our needs and he constantly kept checking whether everything is okay. There were about 17 of us, but he had no problem with making sure all was good for everyone, which we truly appreciate. 12/10!🌟

Love this place! The building and atmosphere is gorgeous. Our waitor, Duane, was lovely. We had fish, steak, and some cocktails. The strawberry daquiri was sooo good!! The food was deifnitely worth the price. My partner said the steak was the best he ever had before.

Nice experience, grand building, pleasant staff, steak was cooked just right, beef wellington was made perfect though there is a 40 minute wait, No complaints.

Starters were good. Mains were good. Apart from the steaks were all overcooked we asked for rare and got WD. One of the steaks also tasted gone off and inedible, it had a really bad taste of blood even though it was well done. The service was very poor, group of young boys who were not very attentive we had to constantly get up to get their attention, had to ask for plates to be cleared, drinks, sauces etc. Such a shame as such a lovely place, but staff were so unbothered when you would think they would be so attentive in a place like this, we never take off service charge however it was definitely worth it! It was for a 21st birthday so we were all in high spirits too, and didn’t come in with any intentions to have a bad meal!

We went early in the evening so the restaurant was a bit empty, but we had a lovely dinner. The food was a delicious and the service was very fast. Our waiter Joe was lovely and even brought out a brownie for my brother as it was his birthday. Definitely recommend

For a steak house to serve tough and undercooked steak is pretty poor. No atmosphere and only one member of staff serving.

Amazing location with food cooked to perfection. A surprisingly wide selection of menu items with high consistency in quality, presentation and taste. Service was great and accommodating with prompt service.

Food incredibly mediocre; undercooked vegetables to the point of being raw; abysmal portions of chips served in a little pot - and to add insult to injury they place paper inside to prop up the already tiny portion. Ordered off the main menu but went tesco after as was starving. Filthy glasses that have finger prints all over including the rim, and water marks; dirty seating; filthy bar (I witnessed a bar tender use his hands to scoop ice into a glass with his fingers firmly planted around the rim of the glass! And so consequently his palm inside!), staff making iced coffees in the cocktail shakers and drinking out of them. Dirty neglected toilets. I'm guessing it's above their station to do toilet checks once in a while. Annoying waitress pushing me to download the middleton's app while I was trying to eat. Chef's shouting and snarling. Boring atmosphere. Plus you'd never know who the manager was as the place and it's people are devoid of character. Based on who the manager likes personally as well I've heard. And so basically who gets all the hours. No wonder most of the staff look miserable. The new manager, duane is exceptional. What the place needed 👌

The food is always nice here although I find it a little overpriced. I think the thing that lets this place down is the service. It’s very slow, minimal and a service charge is automatically added. I went to the bar myself to order a shot after our meal, and they even charged a service charge for that. Of course you can ask to take it off but some people find that uncomfortable.

This was our first visit to any Middletons as it was convenient for us attending a lecture in Leicester. The food was excellent and served quickly we were sorry that we did not have time to sample the deserts. Our enjoyable experience was further supported by Julia who was most attentive to my wife’s mobility problems, and could not have been more helpful. We were most pleased to see you have a restaurant in Milton Keynes which we will now visit and hope it gives us the same experience.

Stunning building inside but the food does not match the visual experiance. I would say its on par with ordering a steak from a weatherspoons. Many of the fancy lighting elements where either not working or flickering 5 or so lights. Cutlery was was bent and steak knives dull. It's just an OK kinda of food place. The pork belly starter was tasty I will say that but food is not worth the cost here.

The food there was amazing with many options to offer. The staff there was complimentary. The atmosphere was very when inside.

The food was ok we had the unlimited steak but found it took along time between them bringing more out they seemed to use a lot of salt and a lot of garlic. We struggled to order more drinks to the table as the waiter always seemed busy elsewhere. There wasn't much of a atmosphere which is a shame as its a lovely building.

My first time eating there, wasn’t overly impressed. Firstly we ordered and the starter came out within a couple of minutes, that says to me it isn’t cooked to order, we then asked for a decent break before the main course but same again that came out pretty rapid, we ordered chateaubriand it tasted nice nice but was cut along the grain to make the slices look bigger because they used small pieces of fillet. Lastly I ordered the chocolate fondant that was over microwaved, it was basically a chocolate sponge, no chocolate came oozing out when I cut into it. A very disappointing experience, very rushed

Great Sunday lunch Friendly staff

First time here, and loved it . Beautiful building that still has the old ornate style and feeling of the Bank building it used to be . Lovely atmosphere, very efficient staff and good food . Try it out sometime.

Me and my partner came here for our anniversary meal and I cannot praise Joe enough for his service and his handling of an a situation that happened while we was dining. He is a star employee and made our night so good. We will be back again to see Joe please pass on our thanks.

Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere and lovely food.

Service was excellent as there wasn't to many people in the restaurant. Scallops for starter was disappointing as they were only 3 x very very small ones. Had the sirloin for mains which I asked to be cooked medium but was cooked rare as there was lots of blood on the plate. Apart from that it tasted ok. They automatically add 10% on bill for service charge but you can get it removed.

Table of 3 walked in no problem to an almost empty restaurant. Host got us seated and was promptly over for an order but wanted us to do all the food and drinks together but some of us weren’t ready, thus making us rush the order. 16oz rump cooked medium rare was ordered. Flavours were great but when asking for med rare I wasn’t expecting half the steak to be medium and the other half rare. No consistency through the whole cut. For dessert ordered custard with the banoffee pie. But was stone cold. I have normally mention it to the server but unfortunately they were no where to be seen. Also rushed for the bill as they wanted to close. To then be charged 10% service was a bit rude.

Steak was ruined by poor cooking, not even close to a sear on it, an insult and a waste of good ribeye. Lackluster salad of leaves and nothing else, no dressing, reminded me of a 1970s salad, lacking life or interest. Served on a plate barely big enough for al the food. Frozen mushed prawns a further insult. Service didn't check on food during and despite only 3 tables with customers and 2 waiting staff never asked how the food was, even upon collection. Entirely overpriced for the service and food served. How you can't sear a steak correctly and overcook it, when you're a steak restaurant, I don't know. Avoid. and a forced 10% service charge what a cheek!

Lovely dinner here, was in the week so wasnt many people in which was lovely. The waiter was great working on her owm to serve us all but she did a great job, food was amazing steak was cooked perfect for me it just melted. Starters were great too lots a flavour!

Had a lovely Valentines date today, atmosphere and lights were lovely, prompt arrival of both food and drinks which were both AMAZING, would recommend the steak filler with garlic butter & the Ultimate breezer cocktail… would highly recommend & we will definitely be back :)

First time here, great place, great steaks and the service was fantastic it was very quiet as it was a Tuesday lunchtime but we were made very welcome and as I'm in a wheelchair the lady gave us access through level access at the back door. Will definitely go back, the fillet steak was lush!

Stay away from dodgy company. Middletons Steakhouse ordered to repay £2,025 to chef........ Avoid like a plague!

Delightful food, swift service, majestically refreshing beverages

What a disappointment. Booked for a small group (9) on my birthday and forced to pre-prder from a 'festive' menu. I opted for the chilli and lime calamari followed by 8oz ribeye, medium rare. The menu stated choice of sauce but had none offered... Our drinks eventually arrived after 45 minutes shortly followed by the first starters... The Calamari liioked like the bottom of a bag bought from iceland, a few scraps of squid in a lot of bredcrumbs cooked in oil that was last changed when the 'festive menu' was introduced accompanied by an undresses salad on browning lettuice ordered at the same time... When the mains eventually started to arrive we were then informed these belonged to another table so we had half the group with food and half without. To make matters worse, what did arrive was mostly cold. 10 minutes later, the remaining mains started to land and my heart sank as I saw the 《10mm 'ribeye' that I received. Just looking at it, it was obvious that it was well done, a prod confirmed this to me. To make matters worse, the fries were so tough they must have been under the heat lamp keeping warm for several hours. This was all served aside the same undressed, browning lettuice as the starter! Given most of us had finished our drinks well before the main course turned up, we were left with only table water for the remainder of the meal... Thank you for a terrible birthday.

Food was under cooked, cold, plus wrong

We had an excellent meal. I only had a salad so I can't comment on the steaks but I was told they were great and the burgers were also. The waitress was very attentive and great at her job.

Food was cold in all courses. Custard with sticky toffee pudding served straight from the Fridge. Reported to Manager who just walked off. Very noisy atmosphere. Highly not recommended.

Waited at the door for a while before being seated. Waitress came and took our drinks order, on her return we had decided what myself and my daughter wanted to eat, we gave the waitress our starter requests, for main course I chose salmon with new potatoes and salad, the waitress responded that there was no salad, I then requested vegetables, the waitress responded there was no vegetables?!? After a short discussion there was really no feasible explanation as to why there was no salad or vegetables, with this we left. On my way out I asked the staff member who seated as to why she did not mention this on our arrival, she responded that she only just found out ?!?!

1st time there for the workers party had to wait half hour for a drink then had to wait for another round of drinks so went to the bar are self's then waited another half hour for are starters then the mains come out and two of then was missing bearing in mind we had somewhere else booked which we was a hour late for so they didn't let us in . And we left pudding coz we was late for the other venue. Not good experience but I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time

Xmas meal ordered 3 course starters Calamari was very over cooked no taste was bad, Mains was a turkey roast this was also bad turkey very dry, roast potatoes had been re-heated and really salty, gravy salty we did get a dessert as they didn't add it to our ordered. Service was very slow the staff are trying but it seemed like they needed more staff. Who ever the cooks are need to get our the kitchen the food was not good at all. Don't book for a large group more than 6 as you will be disappointed. Would not book again.

What a Beautiful Buidling and Ambiance wasted by Poor Service and Horrible Chunks of Meat. The food is average and the high priced Steaks are packed with Sinew.. staff are literally no where to be seen... After repeatedly requesting service.. staff adapted an ignore you approach. Waited 37mins for a child's ice cream? One would argue if they are busy it's understood but its 3pm and the restaurant has 4 tables. We would not be back. I do not recomend, There are better places to part with your money....

No me parece que vale la pena, creo que el restaurante de alado se ve mejor jeje éramos dos comensales, uno de pidió carne que estába bien (he comido mejores), el otro se pidió ensalada con carne (ahí va la cosa) te pasan un mix de lechugas (casi dañadas y algunas ya malas) sin aderezo (les pedí aceite de oliva, no tenía. Me pasaron aceite de cocina) súper seco todo, te ponen unos 3 tomates cherry’s y queso (súper pobre), la carne estuvo pasada de cocción. El postre, un cheesecake (poco que desear) me parece que estuvo mucho tiempo en la refrigeradora y abierto (más bien parecía comprado de un supermercado), duro y se deshacía cuando lo partías. En respeto a las debidas, pedimos vino y un vino era rojo (en la copa estaba al final como azúcar, mucho tiempo abierto). Si quieres tener una experiencia en comer dentro de un antiguo banco británico, está ok pero la decoración es muy pobre y no se puede apreciar el lugar!!! Así que piensa antes de ir!!!

Nice place but almost don’t have enough cooks or staff for the amount of tables and people that actually turn up. Even with a pre order we had to wait 2 hours 45 minutes. There was no explanation, no apology, kids were frustrated! We came to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday and they really ruined the celebration. Our pre order food was mixed up and some people left without eating. It was just a really bad service, I believe if they couldn’t cater for 50 people then don’t take the order. We left feeling like we demanded for too much even thou we were paying for the service. A Celebration was ruined. Not happy at all.

The food was OK when we finally got it but boy was it *slow*. Waited about 90 minutes for mains, noone came to ask if we needed anything else like sauce or more drinks, nightmare trying to get the bill and then a 10% service charge is added! A shame as the building is stunning and it has so much potential to be amazing.

Nice place but they don't have enough cooks or staff for the amount of tables and people that actually turn up. Whilst waiting (approximately an hour and a half after which we left as we still had no food). Ordered a double gin, got a single. Was asked by three different waiting staff if we had booked, no one wore a name badge so we couldn't refer to anyone.. one waitress walked off and didn't come back 🤣. My advice is if it looks busy then leave. Staff seem like they are doing a good job despite their working conditions and the staff we spoke too all seemed lovely people.

Asked for a Gin and tonic, got a Gin and lemonade?? Was told that the wait for food was half an hour. Had to leave after waiting for over an hour.

Not happy. Went here for my brothers birthday. Was seated and waited 45 minutes before we got any drinks. Had waited in total 2 hours and 15 minutes from when we was seated to getting our food. Out of a party of 12, 5 people had steaks, and all steaks were overcooked. Mother ordered calamari as a starter dish, and they had even been overcooked. It was completely unacceptable, and the staff did not want to take responsibility for the lack of bad service or bad food that was being produced, and at times, management was nowhere to be seen when the restaurant was falling apart. There was one female manager who came on the shop floor after I had already waited 2 hours for food. I think they have worked there for a while. She actually cared about what was going on and was sympathetic, but the damage had already been done, and the experience was ruined. There were also other customers there who had the same experience as I was having and had also complained. In the end, our bill came up to £300. I gave them 2 choices, either table is free, or we pay 1 round of drinks. The Bill came up to £37 so we were charged one round of drinks. 1 of 2 things went wrong. Either the expeditor lost our ticket, and when it was found, they put it at the back of the ticket queue, or the kitchen had no leader to lead anyone. I think a combination of both and if the ticket did get lost, when it was found, it should have been the first order you work on. This place used to be really good until the owner/manager moved aboard. After that, this place has gone downhill. I hope you can get back to your glory days before you force yourself to close your doors permanently. Carry on the way you are, and you will!
