Mad Hatters Tea Room & Gift Shop in Havant

Super gezellige tea room met een echt engels ontbijt. Tijdens onze eerste vakantie in de UK heb en we hier een ontbijt gegeten. Erg vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten.

We had the most wonderful lunch at Mad Hatters. We went as a group of 8 (6 adults and 2 children) and everyone had something lovely to eat. The choice was great, the service was delightful, and the kids menu was perfect for our little ones. They even brought out some colouring and games for us to keep little hands busy. Thank you so much!

Amazing food! And wonderful people I highly recommend it. (You can find parking spaces by the beach),and is an overall wonderful place with little personal touches that make a huge difference.

We had a great vegan lunch here, there was a separate vegan menu with lots of options. I'm sad we could only have one meal before we had to leave the island!

We had the most wonderful meal at Mad Hatters Tea Room. My friend had a delicious breakfast, everything was prepared with so much care. I had a delicious halloumi sandwich with the biggest pieces of halloumi ever in it!!! lovely gifts for sale. Such an out of the ordinary place to bring a family member, of friend. I bought my friend a beautiful handmade necklace, which she loved. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

I was part of a large family group for breakfast. Food was tasty, service was reasonable. Not ‘oh wow’, but a nice breakfast. Some substitutions requested and forgotten.

We held a baby shower at Madhatters, Phoebe and her team outdid themselves. They decorated the room beautifully. The food as always was very high quality with everything home made. Most of the guests live on Hayling but hadn’t been to Madhatters before. After the delicious food, service, they will definitely be going back. Thank you Madhatters for the effort, care and attention you all took to make our baby shower so very special.

Great atmosphere but food was very disappointing and our breakfast was mostly gold and dried up and took 40 minutes to arrive despite us getting there 10 minutes after opening and there being only a handful of people there.

We Had a relaxed and delicious meal Sunday afternoon. It was so good i had a second portion as a take away. Always book in advance its so worth it. All the food is home made so menu varies but the seet potatoe chips and quiche is fabulous!

This is the third time ive had the granola with yogurt and fruit at Madhatters. (A vegan alternative is available) Its nice to have an alternative to the fry up. Lovely friendly service as always.

Had a really nice breakfast. The staff were all lovely and had a great gluten free menu definitely recommend if visiting the island. Also noticed some gluten free cakes as well so would be lovely even for a cake a coffee.

This was the second time we had visited; our first visit was great, so we decided to book again for Mother's Day. All the staff are great, food was delicious. I would recommend anything off the menu. It's all great. I treated myself to the Trendy Hat off the menu on this occasion. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked. My wife is gluten-free, so she had many options, a complete, two-sided gluten-free menu for choice, and was delighted. Thanks for a great start celebrating Mother's Day, and I look forward to revisiting MadHatters.

My first visit (10.03) for Mother's Day. I had wanted to come for ages. Daughter (18) decided upon here for taking me out for Mother's Day brunch! We were lucky to get a table! Lovely friendly welcome and every staff member - without exception - were smiling, helpful, chatty and lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. My daughter is autistic and took a little while to figure out the new surroundings, menu etc. Probably as there's so much CHOICE! It couldn't be better for me as severely gluten intolerant. We started with drinks - Kinder Bueno Frappe for my daughter, Coco loco smoothie for me. Delicious 😋. Then I had gluten free Eggs Benedict (came labelled) and D had a mini egg cookie pie. I enjoyed mine immensely. I had a very good flat white and a piece of lime and coconut cake, that was so soft and moist I could hardly believe it WAS gluten free! It was a lovely lovely treat and I can't wait to come back!

An absolute hidden gem! Tucked just round the corner from the arcade this cafe offers an INCREDIBLE selection of breakfasts , lunches and afternoon tea! Serving a full gluten free menu and vegan menu too. Honestly made my birthday 1000x more special being able to order gluten and dairy free pancakes for the first time in 5 years!!! An actual LARGE coffee when you order one, got right through to the last sip. Superbly friendly, welcoming and understanding staff! Little outside area for when the sun's out. Booking taken for tables of 6 only so give yourself enough time in the summer months. Also beautiful selection of little gifts available for purchase too. Looking forward to our next visit!

The drinks were amazing and the cakes were so good I forgot to take any pictures of them! It is a really popular place and it does get busy. There were people coming in that couldn’t get a table but they were still greeted by the amazing staff who handed them a menu to look at while they waited for a table to become available. Would definitely go again! Gluten free and vegan menus also available.

An excellent Sunday breakfast. Everything on the plate was top quality and delicious. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Super friendly staff and plenty of vegan options. They sorted us with takeaway so we could eat on the beach. The chips were chunky and delicious, we'll definitely go here next time we're in Hayling.

What a great spot this is, Hayling Island can sometimes be a struggle, especially out of season, to find a nice tea rooms so we were very pleased to come across MadHatters, great food and a great atmosphere, looking forward to our next visit.

Less vegan on menu than a month ago,that is deception... Ordered hot chocolate but was cold 😔 it's not the same them week before. Food proportion more small.. ..and food (like hash browns and vegans sausages was very oily. And cake one vegan cake no more availabilities This place change.. Be honest I think I not gona back there .

My friend took me to the Madhatters Tearoom for a cream tea, what a wonderful experience, the sandwiches were light, scone / cake delicious and service outstanding. A lovely quaint tearoom. Thankyou

It was a very enjoyable experience. Great food and coffee with lovely service. Made to feel welcome, even with a toddler having a tantrum.

Really lovely friendly well set up place to eat. They welcomed children and dogs, nothing was too much trouble, wonderful service, nothing too much trouble. The food was very good and very reasonable ..all home cooked. Would highly recommend visiting here.

This was a gem of a find, we booked for 8 of us to go on a Saturday lunchtime, couldn't fault anything at all, the lady who waited on us was lovely and so helpful, definitely recommend this little tea room

This is a great place for tea and cake or lunch. The food is all freshley prepared, and serving size is ample. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Good food and friendly service in a spot close to the beach, but unfortunately set back behind an apartment block, so you have to imagine what a great view of the Isle of Wight you would have otherwise. Good gluten free options.

Popped in for a brekki the shop had only just opened 9am waited ages for our meal was quite disappointed when it arrived bacon was fatty and cold and the egg was hard cold (do love a dippy egg beans was good . Such a shame Madhatters was recommended before I left I visited the toilet the back door of the shop was opened and a breeze was blowing through explanation of cold food sitting on the service hatch 😕🍽🥓🍳

I had a lovely brunch on 4 May...the bacon and sausage were delicious with the waffle. Really nice relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely, friendly little coffee shop that's away from all the hustle and bustle of Funland. We love grabbing a coffee and something to eat when we travel to Hayling and we always head to the Mad Hatters Tea Room. The customer service is always lovely and the food and drinks are amazing. My personal favourite is the Biscoff latte! I can't get enough of them and I'm never able to replicate them at home.

Cold undercooked bacon. Overcooked sausages. Got there at11:15 am. Food was served too quickly to be freshly cooked. Should stick to tea & cakes.

The only thing I can say is CAKE. Best selection of cakes anywhere locally, all fresh and homemade. Good coffee (had a great breakfast here too on a previous visit) and love the pretty crockery. We visited on a cold wet day after a sea swim and it was warm and cosy inside. Very limited amount of parking outside, but that wasn't a problem as we parked at the beach over the road. If you are coming here with anyone with mobility issues there is always space to pull up outside and help someone into the cafe so don't be put off by this. Lovely traditional tea shop.

Popped in for tea and cake and it was perfect! Tea pot was quirky and unique with lovely little teacups to keep with the theme! Lovely bits and bobs for sale and the food that was passing my table looked absolutely amazing! Keep doing what you’re doing! It’s brilliant!

The chairs are hard. They could do with some simple additional tied on cushions.Hayling hardware, sells a selection. I don't think people would overlinger, due to the more comfortable chair. Otherwise the service, was attentive and friendly, with very good food. Delicious pot of tea. I will go again.

The Bowler Hat breakfast is a lovely thing containing top notch ingredients. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the service great. If you fancy a swim, order a large coffee (black Americano in my case), which is gratifyingly huge and good stuff to boot. I'm definitely visiting again.

Great tea room, great food and fabulous service! Went out of their way when we realised we had lost my nephews comforter while out this morning. One of the wonderful ladies tracked down the lost toy in the nearby arcade, called us back and now back with our little person to ensure he sleeps well tonight! Amazing, thank you 😊

A great tea room with friendly and welcoming staff. We had a delicious cream tea. (You need to book for the cream tea but, not for general eating). There is limited forecourt parking but, there is free parking around 100 meters away on the beach. I can highly recommend this tea room and we be returning.

This is an amazing find. Delicious food and they fully cater for coeliacs with a fantastic gluten-free menu. We had the most delicious lunch here as a family of 9 with 3 coeliacs. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were so friendly. A 2 min walk from Fun land too. They also have pencils and colouring for children and gave out lovely Halloween bags too.

Visited for the first time today. A lovely little find. The sandwiches came out in ghost shapes, Halloween colouring and a little treat bag for our girls as they had Halloween make up on. Lovely food and atmosphere/staff. Will visit again, thank you 😊

Lovely family run place with friendly staff and great food and coffe! We'd tried their smoothies and they top staff too. Highly recommended! Only drawback is small parking.

Lovely eatery with lovely and friendly staff and a great menu with very tasty food very close to the beach. They are very accommodating with menu substitution requests and strive to make the customer happy the best way possible. Will surely visit them again when I visit Hayling Island.

The food here is just brilliant. Home made, always delicious (I strongly recommend the Fish finger sandwiches and the homemade quiche!) And excellent for kids as well with their lovely little lunchboxes. We always make sure we come for lunch when we are visiting the island! Service is friendly and kind. Portions are generous! We will continue to be back every time we visit!

It appears small from the outside, but don't let that deceive you. Staff very welcoming and standard of food and presentation excellent. I also had a large Americano coffee and when I say large, I mean large. Good value for money. Well done & thank you.

Found this place randomly online and booked the gluten-free afternoon tea on short notice. Regardless, the staff was very welcoming and served us the whole set (minus the gf scones as they were out buy these were replaced with delicious cherry flapjack and banana bread with chocolate chips). The tea also came with a variety of sandwiches on gf bread. The tea room is very cute and cosy, highly recommended to pay it a visit.

You want a good Breakfast with a smile to brighten up your day,then this is the place to be....superb breakfast and service.

Found this gem of a tea room by accident when looking for the hayling railway and so glad we did. Food was amazing and plenty of it and all at a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely tea room to all.

Really nice cafe, great staff lots to look at. Car parking just by the sea and children's Fun Fair. Good choice of breakfasts and lunches. Great decaf coffee which is unusual.
