Full english breakfast was well presented with a large pot of tea, unfortunately the toast was only lightly toasted with a soggy doughy centre.

Nice enough family meal, good service and pleasant environment. It's a shame that most meals you would expect to come with chips are served instead with crisps. Lots of parking.

Rambling Rascals Group..Hayling Island Breakfast at Northney Tea Rooms - Hayling Island. As representative of the above group ( 40 + members) and recently having had a breakfast meet up for some of those members I wish to register my disappointment regarding the service received and the quality of food . I questioned the hard seating for elderly disabled folk asking for it to be replaced by available softer seating. Management said no…thank you for your consideration. Following our meal the general consensus of opinion was very poor including…. Poached eggs..hard. Beans cold Butter in foil …presented atop the toast…melted and running all over the table. Finally when paying we had to stand in a queue. Not good for elderly disabled folk. All in all a very unpleasant occasion and certainly not worth the expense compared with other venues available on the island. As a local group, breakfasting twice a month, our custom has in the past been better received elsewhere. Which is where we will take our custom………goodbye This will be reported to all our members via our web page The rest of Hayling via Facebook and universally via my Tripadvisor membership. Rambling Rascals This is a local group facility for residents of Hayling Island having mobility issues and provides an opportunity to enjoy the company of other like minded folk in a variety of pursuits to include trips , meals and general enjoyment…

Firstly I'd like to say the staff are friendly and the setting is great. But, we hired the barn for a large gathering and feel for the food we had it was grossly overpriced, and a lot of those who attended were very disappointed with what was offered. For that reason we would not recommend. The tea room itself is just lovely.

Visited today for lunch before heading on to Mill Rythe Coastal Village. Had a table in the barn which was very pretty with the fairy lights. Mum and I had the soup which was delicious, one child had the child's sandwich and the other the kids fish finger meal. With it being half term the kids meals were £5 and included a delicious scoop of ice cream made just yards away on the farm. A delightful place, with lovely staff, we will be back and I absolutely recommend you visit.

I love what the family have created with the cafe at Northney Farm. The food that we had on Thursday was delicious…..but……the soup was too salty for me to eat. It would have made me ill. I was really sorry as I was looking forward to it. However the girl at the check out said as she had brought it to the table she had to charge me for it. She embarrassed me in front of my friends. And she was wrong. If food is inedible the customer should not be charged for it. It’s not about the money. It’s the principle.

I enquired about booking afternoon tea for my baby shower, aiming to provide local support and leveraging my frequent visits to the tea room for breakfast or lunch with friends and family. Initially, I was advised that our group of approximately 20-25 guests could be accommodated at one end of the barn. It was also confirmed that we could use minimal decorations. While the option of 'exclusivity' requiring an extra charge of £70-£100 per hour was available, I was content with our arrangement within the barn as discussed on the phone. I relayed this information to my guests and sent out the invitations accordingly. Upon receiving guest confirmations and proceeding to book and make the £660 payment, we were suddenly informed that the additional £70-£100 per hour hire charge was mandatory due to our group size approaching their capacity of 30 guests. This situation left us with two choices: pay the extra charge or have a table without the possibility of using any decorations. This turn of events was deeply disheartening and stood in stark contrast to the initial information I had been provided.

Have been a regular customer here for several years and never had a problem, have always enjoyed our previous visits. We booked for lunch today, seated with two young children and no mention of the upcoming hour long wait for food. Chefs go sick I understand that but tell people at the point they arrive not 45 minutes later. The adults food arrived and was good, the children’s menu however has become hugely overpriced and poor quality, £6 for a single slice of bread with some melted cheddar on, no side salad or anything to accompany it. When mentioned at the end that that particular item was overpriced we were met with a we’re so popular we don’t care what you think attitude…apparently all complaints and reviews are dealt with by the very lady with the poor attitude…. Shame this used to be a lovely place to eat. I would have left it as it just being an off day but the we’re to popular to need to bother attitude was the final straw.

Came for lunch to celebrate birth of baby organised by the school mums. Disappointed to find that reduced menu first Sunday of the month as they have a roast. I would have preferred to try the regular menu. Roast was ok, some veg was overcooked and other veg undercooked. Beef was tough in places could have benefited from having a steak knife. Home made Yorkshire pudding was delicious as good as mums! Lemon custard tart for desert was marvelous I could not fault it. Lovely atmosphere, clean bright airy tea room, friendly happy helpful staff. Bought some ice-cream to take home and it was most enjoyable albeit expensive but happy to spend on a local business, had a good selection of flavours too. A mixed bag, I would not return in a hurry but if you are on the island worth a visit.
