What a fantastic find! We both had one of the daily specials, I had bubble and squeak with fried egg and bacon and my partner had bolognese on focaccia bread, both of which were made in-house. Very tasty indeed. Fruit scones to bring home for tea too. Can't believe we've not tried this wonderful place before more fool us. Service was great and friendly too. There is no doubt we will be visiting again and again and again........

Very underwhelming breakfast! The toast and tomato were burnt, I did ask the waitress to exchange for a less well done tomato as it was black on top, she didn’t look to happy about that, my father offered to swap with his. The baked beans tasted like cheap supermarket own brand and the sausage was dry. After speaking with local friends, they said it used to be good in there but not anymore. We won’t be going again.

We had breakfast here and although there were some nice bits eg coffee and scrambled eggs, overall we thought we would rather have taken the £50 we spent, elsewhere. The toast was awful, small, flavourless and crumbly, I suspect it was gluten free although they claimed it wasn’t. Sausages crispy like reheated and extremely salty. Oh well you live and learn!

We visit the area quite often and discovered the farm cafe about a year ago. I cannot fault it on the three occasions we visited - cream tea and lunch. The staff are friendly, the food and menu choice is pretty extensive for the type of facility. And it appears pretty popular. A lovely environment to have lunch, tea or mid-morning coffee. The food is excellent and a visit is now an essential part of our mini-breaks in the area we make throughout the year.

Saw the tea rooms sign posted whilst out and about on holiday so as missed breakfast thought I'd stop. A sign saying please wait to be seated greets you, so I waited then "Hello darlin, erm is it just you?" "Yes". "What did you want, tea n cake or ......." (another waitress says well if you want breakfast you've only got 2 minutes), 1st Waitress..."well there's a table there but we need it back by 12:15pm do you think you'll be finished by then"? THATS WHEN I SHOULD OF LEFT AND SAVED MYSELF £14.40. No time to look at menu as 1st Waitress "so what do you want darling"? Literally before I sat down. The breakfast was literally swimming in fat along with over cooked rubbery egg, over done sausage etc, definitely not freshly cooked. Then having to wait a good 10 minutes after my breakfast was served for my fresh coffee. I really found the whole experience extremely distasteful and what is it with some people thinking its OK to call solo visitors 'darlin' - I find it somewhat patronising especially as that Waitress did not greet or say goodbye to any other customer in this familiar way. Such a shame as actual place was lovely, other waitresses were polite and respectable. If you go just make sure it's well before 11:30am so you've more chance of freshly cooked and not given a time stamp to get out before you sit down.

She was a younger lady assumed staff as well, absolute awful experience was going to book my wedding reception there but definitely not going to now , the salad was wilted and looked days old and there was mould on my daughters bread, The bread was solid was not edible actually none of the food was edible , was extremely upset with the surf I got from the staff and the rudeness was awful Definitely won’t be going back and will definitely not recommend this place to anyone., such a shame because it’s such a beautiful little place,

Went to the area rooms for breakfast. Having previously had afternoon teas that were lovely, we have to say that we were bitterly disappointed with the full breakfast. Mushrooms that were obviously old prior to cooking, and tasted of rubber. Eggs that had solid yolks and dripping in oil, bacon that had been cooked at some point that morning, then reheated so was as tough as rope. Sausages that are poor quality with minimal meat content and 2/3rds of normal butchers sausages, plus they’d been in an oven for the last few hours. Baked beans that were the cheapest available, watery and numerous black beans in. Toast - supposed to be a sourdough, but it looked and tasted as if it had seen 30s under the grill. To top it off, all of the sauces were Heinz etc, except for the brown sauce. Just cheap sachets that were not expected considering the cost of the food (£14 for one breakfast). When the staff collected the half eaten plates (no chance of getting asked if the food was okay!), nothing was mentioned. Even when we said the food was not good, nothing mentioned. Not a great day for the Tea Rooms.

The setting is lovely and the staff polite and friendly. My friend ordered the potato skins and they looked delicious with a helping of coleslaw and salad. I ordered a prawn Marie rose sandwich and was disappointed. It came with coleslaw but nothing else..no salad...no crisps...so it looked a little plain and sad on the plate. Especially for £8! It also should have been Marie Rose sauce on the prawns as stated on the menu but they were mixed with mayonnaise instead. Not overly impressed...would go back but avoid the sandwiches as I don't think they are worth the money.

Lovely tearooms in lovely setting with pleasant staff which I have been visiting for many years . The food has always been of great quality and generous portions and always felt it was good value. On my last 3 recent visits I felt the portions were very meagre with everything extra on top. The burgher my husband had tasted pre cooked with a tiny portion of crisps and coleslaw . My breakfast consisted of one small slice of toast two mushrooms , one egg and a rasher of bacon. Cooked well but just the bare minimum. The new menu reflects the goal to offer a basic meal and then load the cost with extras which were previously included. A slippery slope to being average rather than being exceptional !

I think the last time I visited this great place was the summer of 2019😳😳. Today's visit on June 24th was very ad-hoc, i.e. we'd intended to grab something at John's Café close to the Hayling Golf course, however the sea mist put us off ( fickle day today..🤭). Most definitely glad we had a 'plan B'..👍👍. Warmly greeted at the new (to me) meet & greet lecturn & offered a choice of tables. Drinks & food orders taken promptly, with both orders arriving in good time. I was pleased to see that you've been able to be creative with your space, but without ( in my opinion) losing the charm that I feel you've always had 👍👍. 🤞 the council will grant you permission to reinstate your ' tent' within the permitted height.. Thankyou & see you again..🌞😊🏆

Have visited the tearooms alot in the past and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, location, staff and quality of food. However after visiting today and sitting outside we both noticed on the menu the sandwiches only come with coleslaw and you have to pay extra for crisps and salad. We continued to order a sandwich each, on the arrival of the food we were disappointed to notice the lack of food for the price we were going to pay. We both felt that the filling in the sandwich was more sauce than meat. We know the price of food has gone up but making your prices higher and having less on your plate doesn't seem fair. We did go on to have two slices of cake which was lovely and would definitely recommend along with the lovely surroundings.

My wife and I had breakfast today, disappointed is the main word I would use. 1 x Full Breakfast, when it arrived, very quickly after ordering, first impression was it was small. Very small sausage, bacon with a lot of fat, personal preference here but some may like that, one small slice of toast. Compared to other breakfasts I've had around the coast, this was poor value. My wife found a small piece of black plastic on her plate, when she was almost finished, she found a hair. I mentioned both when paying, apology given but we won't return. Which is a shame as it's a great location but based on what we had represented poor value. I appreciate times are not easy, costs rising etc but when other cafe's can do these things better, taken as a lesson learned.

Ordered their little farmers meal deal for my 19 month old son £7 of which the menu stated - Sandwich, Crisps, Fruit yogurt, raisins, mini cake and drink. We ordered a cheese sandwich and asked for a bottle of water for him, however when the water came to the table it was Luke warm cloudy tap water in a GLASS with a straw! When his lunch arrived the cheese sandwich was shoved in the bottom of the box with half of the cheese spilled on the bottom, there was nowhere for him to decant his food on to so we had to ask for a plate. We then noticed there was no fruit yogurt as advertised, so we asked where this was and the lady advised they had none left - clearly they weren’t going to tell us about this. The mini cake was infact a minuscule piece of stale fruit flapjack - it was so hard I don’t know how they expect a child to eat it?! Upon complaining of the hard flapjack they came back with another pack of raisins and a large piece of “softer flapjack” to which I advised there’s no way a toddler will eat it but thank you - they offered ice cream instead but it never arrived to the table. I then noticed as my son was eating his sandwich that the bread had blue mould on the crust, to then realise mine was also the same! They advised they’d take the sandwiches off the bill, but to be honest it’s left a complete sour taste in our mouths. To give a toddler mouldy bread, warm cloudy tap water in a glass and items missing from the lunchbox, not forgetting the rock hard cake - for £7 it is disgusting and I would hate for any other parents with toddlers to Experience the same, which is such a shame as we were always pleased with our food in the past.

Rambling Rascals Group..Hayling Island Breakfast at Northney Tea Rooms - Hayling Island. As representative of the above group ( 40 + members) and recently having had a breakfast meet up for some of those members I wish to register my disappointment regarding the service received and the quality of food . I questioned the hard seating for elderly disabled folk asking for it to be replaced by available softer seating. Management said no…thank you for your consideration. Following our meal the general consensus of opinion was very poor including…. Poached eggs..hard. Beans cold Butter in foil …presented atop the toast…melted and running all over the table. Finally when paying we had to stand in a queue. Not good for elderly disabled folk. All in all a very unpleasant occasion and certainly not worth the expense compared with other venues available on the island. As a local group, breakfasting twice a month, our custom has in the past been better received elsewhere. Which is where we will take our custom………goodbye This will be reported to all our members via our web page The rest of Hayling via Facebook and universally via my Tripadvisor membership. Rambling Rascals This is a local group facility for residents of Hayling Island having mobility issues and provides an opportunity to enjoy the company of other like minded folk in a variety of pursuits to include trips , meals and general enjoyment…
