Stumbled on this little gold mine by chance. Fancied a cup of Tea with Mum and was pleasantly met with a selection of Home made cakes (lemon drizzle slice, Butterscotch cake, huge scones). Totally spoiled by choice. We both chose the scones, which were served with a pot of fresh cream, a pot of strawberry jam and a handful of strawberries. The scone was warm and have to say, it was the best scone I had ever tasted. The lady said they were all still warm had not long come out of the oven. If it was open later, we would have gone back for a slice of the lemon drizzle cake. Lovely pot of tea too! Super friendly service too. Will definitely return!

I came in for a breakfast before my franchise meeting with a fast food restaurant. As someone who’s been around this type of business for years i’ve never seen such Terrible customer service from the young guy on the front counter. Came in ordered a breakfast wrap.. they had no wraps. Ordered a breakfast bap… there’s no baps. This is 10am in the morning so the preparation alone is awful. I said can i just have a breakfast bap just with normal bread instead. Proceeds to try charge me £6.75, when a bap is £5. I asked why are you trying to upsell me i haven’t asked for any extra filling. Terrible and embracing for a business to not be prepared even this early into the day avoid going to this unprepared unprofessional business. Update - was seen buying cheap rolls from sainsbury’s. Then proceeds to threaten me because i left her terrible business.

Having followed Rubys on Facebook, my brother and I decided to call in for breakfast, while on our way to the Warners Lakeside. We were not disappointed. This has got to be the friendliest tea room I have ever visited. Within moments of entering, we were chatting to both the staff team and other customers. It was a real community atmosphere. We drove on to Hayling Island to take a look around recently and felt the need to stop off somewhere for a quick snack and a cuppa. We liked the warm look of Ruby's and were delighted with the nice welcome we received. We took our time to think about our order which we eventually gave to the kind young man behind the counter. I went for a large Latte and a warm cheese scone. The others had pots of tea and toasted tea cakes and cheese scones as well. All good. Actually the choice of food and drink was quite extensive for a modest sized tearoom.

I was recommended by a friend as she knows I love cream teas but I was disappointed. The sandwiches were ok but bread only buttered in centre so crusts really dry and I don`t feel a slice of cucumber an adequate filling. My daughter were passing and decided to stop in for lunch. We sat at table and were ignored so i went to counter to order and pay. I admit i was'nt sure if it was counter service. The lady taking the order was not that friendly I have to say, and whilst I went to top up my car parking my daughter said she felt uneasy. My daughter had pancakes with bacon and I had prawn sandwich. The food was fine but did take 20 mins by which time we had already finished our drinks. There was only one other table of 2 occupied. So not busy. They paid after eating. We left and sorry wont go back again as we did'nt feel that welcomed.I dont even think the lady at the counter said thank you.

This tearoom is an absolute gem. Every element of this place is superb. The food, drinks, members of staff and all very reasonably priced.Without a doubt the best on the Island. I would recommend this to any visitors , It's one of those places you will remember whenever you think of Hayling Island and tell the grand kids in years to come. Well done Mandy a perfect experience!

This is a relatively new cafe in the island but is Lready well supported by locals and holiday makers. The is a fabulous range of cakes on offer, all gloriously presented, labeled and displayed. The cakes sell the, selves not only do they look gorgeous they taste just as good as they look, if not better AND what a large slice. I fact if you are not a big eater two could share one slice . It's nice to see that the cafe is slowly being transformed into a more typical tearooms with tablecloths , chine tea cups and teapots being introduced rather than a trendy , chick, appearance. So much more cosy and inviting. DEFINITLEY GIVE THIS A VISIT. lots of tables to chose from inside, two or four seaters .

So after seeing posts on a local Facebook page we decided it was time to try this place out, we had our hearts set on an afternoon tea consisting of sandwiches and scones much to our disappointment this requires a 24hours per booking! Ok no worries were have something else I had the Ruby's breakfast, it took ages to come out what seamed like a good 15 mins.... Far too long for a cafe type restaurant! The food arrived 1 egg 1 bacon 1 sausage 1 hash brown beans mushrooms and a slice of toast it was well presented, the toast was nice a chunky fresh slice, I personally wasn't keen on the sausage as it was a herby type.... My biggest down point was there was a spicy flavour!! Im hazarding a guess that was the orange stuff sprinkled on my egg... It totally ruined the egg and to be fair the whole breakfast! I'm not keen on spicy flavours and I defiantly would not choose to have this on my full English breakfast! Would I return? To be honest NO, why? The service was poor it took along time to arrive and the spicy flavour has put me off! My recommendation to anyone seeking a good old traditional English breakfast go to beachlands Cafe

We popped in here for the first time today and will definitely be back. Nice veggie breakfast and cake at sensible prices. Nice atmosphere as well. Only downside was a bit scatty on the food orders - everything arrived but not all together. Forgiven as they are still a new establishment.

I visited here with my grand daughter who is 2yrs old. I asked if she could have warm milk and was told yes, so I ordered coffee, the milk and cakes. My coffee was served eventually and the milk was later brought to us but was ice cold. So I asked if it could be warmed as I had requested. The waiter took it back, then served it to my grand daughter, it was so hot that I had trouble moving it. I asked for another glass and poured it back and forth to cool it down. eventually a lady brought some cold milk to add to it. No apology. I drank my coffee to find lumps at the bottom of it. we did not bother with the cakes. I found the staff unhelpful and considering when we visited we were the only customers it was very poor service.

Stopped in for a quick snack as it's always nice to try new businesses on the island, unfortunately I ended up wishing I hadn't. We ordered sandwiches which took 25 minutes to arrive despite that, for most of the time, we were the only ones in there. Doorstep sandwiches are obviously their specialty, but these were nearly 2 inches thick per slice and the bread was completely stale around the outside and inedible. Some poor pensioner could crack a denture! We left most of our food and left hungry. The staff seemed pleasant enough, but lacking any real customer service. Hopefully they can sort these problems, but I won't be returning, especially as they don't really cater for children.

Having previously had a good experience, my 90 year old mum and I went for lunch. We ordered prawn salads with falafel and humus from the menu. The last two items were missing on our plates, but when queried we were told that nobody ordered those so they didn't have any! We asked for an alternative and were given half a slice of bread each! I then found a hair in my salad, but when I reported this, I was told that the kitchen staff had dark hair so it wasn't theirs! I was too stunned to reply! Then I was told we couldn't expect a refund, because the hair wasn't theirs. I explained we didn't want a refund, just an apology. Never again!

Chose this eatery as it looked nice from the outside. Opted for the liver and bacon on mash potato, ample portion and cooked to perfection, very tasty, washed down with a cup of tea. Dessert was sponge and custard, lovely and more than ample custard. So impressed I took away a large piece of their quiche and a couple of cheese scones for later, also good. Great staff/service at this venue and will definitely return to try the breakfast .

A great little spot for a very good cup of coffee and a snack. Has a little group of picnic tables. The price for the coffee is reasonable.
