Lovely food with lots of variety on offer. Lovely service, felt like a friend of the pub on only my second visit, and just a lovely atmosphere. Spent £20 p/p on a main and a drink, and was worth every penny. Feel good to be supporting such an establishment

I had gluten free confit of duck, root veg and cassoulet of beans; dessert creme brulee. Both were the best I have ever tasted. Service was excellent. I have mobility issues and a member of staff offered me his arm as soon as he saw I was struggling. Beautiful countryside. Brilliant visit. Thank you.

The Bridford Inn is by far one of best pubs I’ve been to. In a country where pubs are dying this wonderful place manages to recapture that nostalgic feel of the pubs of old whilst keeping up with the modern world. The landlord goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. His staff are polite and friendly, the food is exceptional and the atmosphere welcoming. All I can say is the term “Yorkshire Caviar” will be one that stays with our family for years to come.

Lovely old country pub/restaurant We were a group of 12 - 10 adults & 2 children Pub is lovely - well presented Sunday menu so limited which we expected Booking was 2.15 pm so probably late in the day. Food was not roasting hot Roast potatoes were hard on the outside but fluffy inside however small There was a wait for the veg to arrive Horse radish was requested but didn’t arrive Puddings were slow Waiter who took order was very friendly but other staff not so We had a nice lunch as a large, extended family

The landlord squeezed us in for lunch when the kitchen was just about to close. After having served us a couple of perfectly tasty pints, he brought us a couple of replacements because he wasn't confident that the tail end of the barrel from which we'd been served was quite right. The food was tasty pub fare and we sat in the beer garden and watched sheepdogs persuading a flock to change ends of a field over on the other side of the valley.

Perfect place to meet as 1 hours travel for both couples...one from Bude and the other from Brixham!! Very scenic journey and fabulous views from the top of Bridfords hill!! Super Atmos and welcome, savoury aromas promising luscious food for our Sunday lunch. Our table for 4 was ours for the duration of the lunch session🤗! Situated cosily by the fireplace( enormous) and pretty window. We choose our lunch from the board and all selected roasts..2 sirloin of beef and 2 leg of lamb.. there was plenty else on the menu if roast was not our preference...the fish and chips looked 😍!! The wait was short, the food served smilingly by the lovely waitresses...and the flavour...out of this world..so delicious from the tender meats with roast potatoes and Yorkshire's on the plate with perfect gravy..to the selection dishes that followed of parsnips, carrots, cabbage, broccoli and creamy cauliflower cheese...extra gravy in its jug hot and steamy ready to top up the Yorkshire puddings!! This roast was the best any of us has ever had...perfection on a plate..hot, hearty and heavenly...thank you so much to everyone involved in it's preparation and serving!

Looking for somewhere to meet up with friends and came across the Bridford Inn via a Google search. Made a booking for Sunday lunch and was advised they were expecting a large party so could we alter our time. No problem as we weren't in a hurry. However we arrived early in order to chat to our friends and the host invited us to dine earlier as the kitchen was already in full swing. I must say the food was delicious, the ambiance in the inn was exceptional and the host & hostess and team were very welcoming, very hospitable and exceedingly friendly. Couldn’t have possibly had a nicer Sunday afternoon here. The Landlord and staff were incredibly friendly, thoughtful and welcoming (suggesting we move tables to sit by a cosy fire) and every element of the beef roast was perfect - incredibly fluffy but crispy potatoes, well seasoned and proportioned cauli cheese and beautiful roast beef. Even the espresso was perfect and had a little foam on top which isn’t often the case in cosy pubs! 10/10 recommend. £25 each for a roast, 1.5 pints of cider, 2 espressos and a shared pudding is pretty excellent!

A real gem within the boundaries of Dartmoor. I had the Pakora burger and it was so delicious, and the four others I was with all loved their meals. My only concern was that a rugby game was being shown all evening and there wasn't anything to warn us about it- and as people who don't follow the world of sports there's no way we would've known! Still, we had a very enjoyable evening outside.

My husband, Labrador pup, and I visited this pub three times over a three day Dartmoor break. We really were bowled over with the warm welcome we received each time we visited. Each member of staff was totally charming, helpful and friendly. We ate lunch on one of the days and it was very tasty - the black pudding Scotch egg was SO good! We had a half portion of scampi and a half portion of ham, egg and chips (only because we were eating again in the evening as it was our wedding anniversary). It really wasn’t a half portion though and we would happily have paid more than we were charged. We didn’t end up cooking our meal that evening!! We visited on the Sunday and the Sunday roast looked top notch! The pub was packed. I own and run my own hospitality business and I know how hard it can be. Well Done guys - you deserve to do well ❤️

We booked this for a celebration meal on my son's 21st birthday (which I had said when booking the table). The food all round was excellent, my son chose the Bridford inn because they do a veggie pakora burger and he was very complimentary about it. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is no one told me when I booked the table that there would be the Rugby being shown all evening on a large screen in a small pub. Luckily the weather was warm enough in October to sit outside and eat, and the barman was very helpful. I would have preferred to have been told when booking for a celebration meal, to know that they were showing Rugby as we are not a sports family and it definitely impacted on our family occasion. I would however, happily return for such good good quality food.

The most wonderful village pub, the Bridford Inn is cosy and welcoming, with a great selection of ciders and beers and fantastic food. The menu, written on a giant chalkboard because it changes depending on what's fresh and available, is carried to your table. The kitchen has limited capacity, which they are very clear about communicating, but the quality of what they produced is some of the best food - let alone pub food - that I've had in quite some time. From bruschetta with home made bread and heirloom tomatoes to Bao buns laden with soft flavour loaded beef cheeks and beautifully cooked pork belly with pommes Anna, the starters and mains were all well presented and super tasty. The deserts were simple but again well executed and presented. Well worth the detour.

From the beginning of our stay at scenary cottage , which was only 2 doors from the bridford inn. Sam and Dean where the epitome of hospitality. I have truly never been to any place that made my family and dog feel as welcome. It was the best start to a beautifully sunny week they continued to be helpful with any questions we had about the area. The food also was amazing to which the waiter actually brought the fall chalk board menu over to us. Which made us all very that extra bit special we didn't unfortunately catch his name. But I'm sure he'll know who he is when he sees our mug shots which I'll upload with this review . All the locals here Where equally friendly. Difficult to fault this friendly pub. A cheery Yorkshire welcome even though we are only occasional visitors. A warm fire, good range of beers, I'd personally recommend the Jail Ale and good home cooked food, all fleshly cooked. My choice was venison pie, one of the best I'd eaten and a proper pie, not a stew in a china dish with an 8 inch puff pastry lid. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a perfect place for refreshment during a hike (in our case The Eden Way). We arrived soaking wet and were welcomed by friendly people and a log fire and local beers. It felt like a dream because we were cold and wet and were not expecting to find an open pub!

Absolutely fantastic. Great food, great atmosphere. Probably the best fine dining restaurant near Exeter. You really have to try it.

Amazing food. Arranged to meet family there on the way to Ashcombe. Really friendly staff, very comfortable and the best liver and onions ever. Would highly recommend.
