Absolutely fantastic. Great food, great atmosphere. Probably the best fine dining restaurant near Exeter. You really have to try it.

Absolutely delightful meal that we could not fault! Fantastic value for money and quality service. The Gravlax was my personal favourite and the trifle was beautiful! 100% recommend the taster menu and we will be returning very soon ☺️

The funny reason we came here is because I wanted to try Wood pigeon and this place offers it, was recommended by a friend, but it was a really nice surprise! Food and service is amazing, high quality find dining food I would say. The price is not expensive since at all (I’m from London) and would definitely come again and highly recommend to my friends. Bread is complimentary and they also gave us something special called Amuse Bouche - so nice! Starter: We ordered a cured wood pigeon and sea trout as a started, was so beautiful Made! Plating was so wonderful. Main: Sunday roast (beef) and a catch of the day (sea bream) and was absolutely delightful. Dessert: lemon pistachio ice cream super lovely! I would highly recommend the creme brûlée as this is so beautiful made and high portion (I was too full to order but saw next table) We also got a piece of cherry rum white chocolate (I maybe wrong) and salted caramel as a final finisher. Wonderful! If you go on a sunny warm day you can sit on the triangle on the grass lawn, food and drink serve there too!

Food was good however the roast must have been standing for a while as it was warmish. Free parking in car park literally across the street.

Beautiful food and great for gluten free.

Beautiful meal in an idyllic spot. Service was excellent and not too intrusive (like in some higher end restaurants). I need to be gluten free and this wasn’t a problem at all, many of the dishes could be made gluten free and the staff were really knowledgeable. Great selection of drinks. We were there for Sunday lunch and will definitely be going back!

We had a really memorable meal at the Rodean. We opted for the tasting menu which was excellent. My personal favourite course was the wood pigeon on the homemade crumpet! The service was fantastic. They took the time to explain every course and were attentive without being overbearing. The tasting menu is £65 per head which we felt was good value for money given the high quality ingredients and some more unusual flavour pairings. Overall would highly recommend and we are hoping to return at some point!

Absolutely fantastic food. I had 4 courses and every single one was beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Very attentive staff and barely any wait between courses. Atmosphere is lovely and the whole experience was honestly a 5/5 all around. Already planning on returning as soon as possible! Brilliant.

Incredible experience, we went on the re-opening night the restaurant is fresh, with a chilled out vibe. The food was incredible we had the tasting menu and great service, could not have been more helpful and engaging. Will definitely go again on our next holiday to Dawlish.

Food excellent. Newly re-opened and some staff were obviously new, but good head of house. Renovation decor did not seem up to the standards of the great food, so low mark for atmosphere.

As a Michellin starred restaurant, the food is fantastic, and all the staff were brilliant. What really made it for me, though, was the selected music playlist!! Perfect!!

The Rodean is a wonderful, family run restaurant offering a delightful atmosphere to enjoy fabulous food. We have thoroughly enjoyed dining at The Rodean on a number of occasions and each dish on the menu consistently proves to be an exquisite masterpiece of flavours and presentation. The front of house team are so lovely and always happy to accommodate any requests. From the ambrosial amuse-bouche to the divine mains and celestial desserts, I can honestly say it is the best food I have enjoyed in the Exeter area !! What a delightful restaurant, we hope you continue to deliver such a wonderful experience for guests in many years to come.

Wonderful food, classy, tasty, beautifully presented. We aimed for a quick lunch and ended up having a 3 course meal for lunch! I can not speak highly enough about the quality of ingredients and cuisine. Having returned from South of France a week ago and been spoilt with delightful cuisine for couple of weeks , today’s Rodean visit and food was above 2*Michelin restaurant we tried in Nice. A wonderful find in Kenton and well worth several visits and working our way through the menu in the future. Thank you for making special arrangements for lunch for our tricky to feed autistic daughter who loved the chips, chicken goujons ( made specially for her) and green beans. Deserts were amazing and she even tried something new. Thank you very much , wonderful food, atmosphere and service

What a fabulous place to go for a meal. We have passed it on a number of occasions and finally went today. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with a pleasant layout, attentive lovely staff. We chose the taster menu with the wine flight. I was expecting nice, even delicious but I can honestly say it was outstanding, beautiful presented seven course dinner with coffee and delightful chocolate brownie and chocolate and pear cups. The wine flight matched the food perfectly. Would I recommend this, absolutely, would I go back, hell yes. Don’t miss out on this little gem, highly recommended

After receiving a recommendation we satisfied our curiosity about what appeared an attractive restaurant in a lovely village and were not disappointed. The food was both imaginative and well executed, presentation and service also excellent. Travelling on the 2 bus made it an easy trip from Teignmouth. We will go again!

From the moment you walk in, the decor & the atmosphere are relaxing and the staff professional & attentive. Personal touches, home made bread, own butter, tasters in between courses and a Birthday message in Chocolate on the desert are typical of the attention that was bestowed on our party of 6. The test of a review; Would I/we go back ? Most certainly. Everything was top notch.

Saturday night family meal at The Rodean .. simply fantastic in all areas .. service is perfect, lovely relaxed atmosphere and the food is another level ...as good as any Michelin restaurant we have been in the past ... It's a independent family run business and the attention to detail is bang on the money, we had Hake, Duck leg & Monkfish for mains there starters and desserts are beautiful...I could go on all day .... Always fabulous service and excellent food from this family run restaurant. Did not disappoint on any level, if anything it gets better each time. My 'cheese three ways' starter was equal to any Michelin star offering we have had. Desserts were a triumph and the sticky toffee pudding is unrivalled! Thank you so much.

A wonderful and cosy restaurant near Exeter and Teignmouth. The menu was inventive and very appealing. My partner is vegetarian and the server was very helpful and the chef was able to suggest and provide alternatives/variations to courses listed. We started with a delicious amuse bouche and lovely bread. I had pigeon breast with lentil dhal followed by sea bream. They were both very well cooked and absolutely delicious. My partner settled for falafal followed by pearl barley risotto with hen of the woods. He was very happy too. We were too full for pudding so settled for coffee which came with chocolate and pear cups and little caramel tarts. The bill was extremely reasonable and I would have expected to pay more for such high quality. I would definitely recommend this for a lovely evening out.

We had another superb meal at Roedean again. Fine dining, food is just divine, great service by the young staff, and just a great dining experience.

This is one of my favourite restaurants. I usually go for dinner but tried a Sunday roast last time. Everything was cooked to perfection, although the dinner menu is where they really shine. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is very unpretentious. Friendly greeting on arrival, and a very pleasant atmosphere in an informal setting. We went for Sunday lunch and enjoyed top notch food.including a delicious "amuse bouche". Very reasonably priced considering the quality. We will be back!

What a lovely evening! We live 5 miles away and so we took the bus. It has a bus stop less than a minute walk away and with the gps app these days it was far easier than a taxi and meant we could both have a drink. They started us off with the specialty bread and butter which was outstanding. This was followed by an exceptional dinner with amazing flavours. The service beautifully timed with the perfect balance of friendly and unobtrusive. The only reason I rated a 4 (which I deliberated about as it was very almost a 5) is only because my boyfriend said his starter (the scallops) was very nice, but it lacked something. Maybe the flavour needed an extra punch? I don’t really know .. he’s the foodie, not me. But it’s a rather overstrict 4 as we both loved it and will definitely go again and highly recommend this lovely place. Go, even if it’s only for that bread!

Absolutely delicious...I could stop this review right there... But the Rodean deserves a full review so here we go... Bowl of olives (which were soaked in a marinade)... while we made our choices, starters we had Scallops on a raisin jelly, Onion tart with whipped goats cheese, Mains Hake with battered mussels and a Pork belly...to finish... A sticky toffee pudding.. then we were served chef's petite fours .. it was all utterly delicious...needless to say we will 100% be going back, 👏👏👏👏
