Lovely cafe. Great atmosphere with excellent food and very good range of choices. Everything fresh and tasty.. ranges from breakfast items to sandwiches, salads, larger hot meals and desserts. Staff and owners very friendly and warm. I've only been here a handful of times due to being new to the area however I'm always made to feel welcome. Plenty of regulars in here and are made to feel like family. I've always visited on my own and made to feel very comfortable.

We chose the little coffee house for a takeaway afternoon tea after such a lovely ploughman’s platter last year and it did not dissapoint! The sandwhiches were so flavoursome, all the food was homemade and fresh, there was lots of variety, from sweet to savoury and we have eaten the lot! The scones were huge! The best afternoon tea we have ever had yet! So tasty! Thank you again!

We had afternoon tea today and it was delightful. Lovely fresh sandwiches and a good assortment of bite size cakes. Service was excellent and staff were as friendly as ever. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours eating and sharing with friends.

When a cafe at lunch time is busy with people waiting you know is has to be good. We only had to wait 5 mins. Great staff. Fantastic food. Plenty of gluten free options. Only passing the Selby, but worth the trip from the car park. Will call again if passing by.

I just nipped in for some cake as they were shutting and they were so friendly and polite. The chocolate cake was amazing - biggest slice I have ever eaten and really moist.

This is a great place with happy and attentive service and only by chance we called in. Will definitely return and sample more from a well balanced menu. Unfortunately I was in too much of a hurry to take photos..

We where meeting family half way between Hull and Leeds . Trying to find a gluten free friendly place can be tough but this place ticked all the right boxes . I text before we got there to double check on gluten free options . My partner who is celiac was over the moon with all the options available to him . Not only was it great food but also very generous portions , none of us left hungry . Our hosts where delightful , we where reassured that contamination was carefully considered , Nothing was too much trouble and all done with a smile . Thank you once again we will be back .

Looking for somewhere for a light lunch and found the reviews of this little cafe. We didn't book but we were able to get in on a Saturday lunchtime although a lot of tables were reserved. A large selection of food available, all prepared to order. Various toasted sandwiches and panini available and very nice they looked. I had chicken, chorizo and mozzarella with side salad and handmade crisps. They also have a selection of scones and cakes. Would definitely call again if in the area.

This is an amazing coffee shop within Selby town. I have visited a couple of times in the past and have never been disappointed. Today I met with a friend for a coffee and a scone and once again the service was amazing. The coffee shop is lovely and cozy. The staff are always kind and happy to help in anyway they can. I can highly recommend.

Lovely coffee shop. The owner was spending a moment at each table speaking with the customers giving a personal touch, greeting some of the customers with their names. The service was still very quick. No doubt the place was and will remain busy with the level of the hospitality. Keep up the great work and all the best!

Lovely place, me and my daughter went for dinner, she got her dinner free when I bought from adult menu, so welcoming owners are so lovely, definitely recommend

I was actually here twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Good vegan meals both times. Pleasant staff, superb toilets.

GREAT VEGGI BREAKFAST! Really nice little cafe, the veggi breakfast was wonderful, prepared with care and presented well. It’s immaculately clean and the service was really friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend.

I called at The Little Coffee House on Thursday with a group of cycling friends. I hadn't been for a few years, but I definitely won't be leaving it as long before I go again. Everyone agreed that the food and coffee they had was excellent and good value. I'm coeliac and the selection of gluten free savoury and cake options was very good. I had a bacon, sausage and mushroom roll and the biggest piece of lemon meringue cake I've ever seen. The cafe was quite busy but we were all well look after by the friend team.

No food yet; but all we've tried has been excellent.

Fantastic Gluten Free Menu meant I had loads of choice! Was really impressed that there was a takeaway service! The homemade cake was delicious and the lasagna was just fabulous! Everyone was so friendly! I will be visiting again soon!

Can’t recommend this place enough, we’re the studio next door and Tim and Mandy welcomed us straight away, we go nearly everyday they’re open for our breakfast and sometimes dinner too! Very polite and welcoming, amazing food too and be sure to defo look at their cakes, yum! The cafe is always full of friendly people and smiles, I’m so happy to see it being so successful and I hope they’re around for many more years to come! Iv also been here with my children too, great family area to just chill and grab a snack. Highly recommended

As regular customers of the Little Coffee house I'm really surprised at some of the recent negative reviews as it contradicts our experience of the place. Yesterday my wife and myself were in for our weekly treat (lunch out), I had the full English Breakfast and it is a regular choice for me as it always looks and tastes appetizing, bit healthier than some as lots of it is done in a Air Fryer so never swimming in fat. The Wife loves their Omelettes, not sure what the secret is but she claims they are the best she has had. The other positive is food is cooked fresh once you order. We also use the place for coffee often and must say the cakes are the best I've witnessed in the area, often the homemade cheesecake my choice. As said earlier we are regulars but consider the owners and staff friends because of the way we always get treated there. We discovered the place over 4 years ago and been using it ever since which we wouldn't if it wasn't as good as the many positive reviews on here.

I met a friend here for lunch at their request and did not check the reviews. Overall, service was slow, owners were disinterested in new customers and food was ok but I wouldn’t recommend for the price. After a cold visit, I decided to check the reviews to see if perhaps it was just my experience. Not only did I read the reviews, I also read the responses of the “owners”. Just by their responses I could tell they have no respect for customers or people in general. On one response, they actually blamed the customer for not speaking up whilst in the restaurant. I can completely understand why this customer didn’t as I myself, was made to feel uncomfortable by the owners with the cold reception; I did not want to interact with them. Really disappointed with the lack of self-awareness in these owners. Not only did we feel unwelcome in their cafe, others have too and rather than accepting the criticism and trying to do better, they blame the customer. I’d also like to point out that the customer you attacked may have a disability such as social anxiety, autism etc. I really would avoid this place at all costs - not worth your effort, money or time. And I am really sorry to the others who have had the same experience I have, especially those who previously reviewed. Such rude responses from the owners!

Lovely coffee shop, the staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable and the cakes are amazing.

I went with my partner for lunch, tempted by the cake pictures on Facebook but wasn’t overly impressed. I ordered a sandwich and a side of chips to share. The chips were soggy and undercooked and the sandwich was underwhelming, I think I’d have got better in Weatherspoons. Overall disappointed, I wanted to support a small local business and I expected more form somewhere that seems to have such glowing reviews from everyone else.

Today, my friend and I visited, intending to stay for lunch, a hot chocolate, and a cake each. Not long after arrival, having discussed the irony of a snow day given the sunny weather, we overheard another customer complain to a man I presume was the manager that their food had taken 25 minutes to arrive. Instead of apologising, he became very defensive and listed reasons their food took longer than the 15 minutes the customers were quoted. Our order was taken and food served by two lovely ladies. The food was okay. During our visit, the apparent manager was engaged in a conversation across the cafe with 2 groups of apparent regular customers complaining about teachers. While this felt a little unprofessional, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and it was nice to see how the community has been built in the cafe. However, one of the regular customers then pointed to me and my friend and very loudly (across the cafe) tried to belittle us and suggest that, as teachers, we should have felt embarrassed to be there, given the sunny weather outside and the unexpected closure of several local schools. This comment was unacknowledged by the apparent manager, leaving us feeling humiliated and unwelcome. While we wouldn’t expect the him to risk the business of regular customers, an apology or acknowledgement of his behaviour once the customer left would have been nice. To their credit, we were asked before paying if everything was okay with our meal. We said nothing at the time as we felt like any complaint would be handled in the same way as the one we had overheard. Instead, we paid for our lunch and left. This is made all the more disappointing as we have previously recommended the cafe to friends (who are also teachers) for their cakes. We will assume, in future, that this cafe doesn’t value the custom of teachers and shan’t be returning.

The best omelette I have ever had, plus clean and pleasant surroundings… helpful staff just a shame there is no parking.

Called in for lunch yesterday whilst house viewing with our son! Very welcoming staff. Food freshly cooked, well presented and tasty, even offered to top up our teapots with hot water! Very clean. Didn't feel we were rushed to leave. Would definitely return if we are in Selby again soon.

Outstanding hospitality and delicious fresh food cooked to order, we had the full English breakfasts and the quality was outstanding

What a great place! Everything is top-notch, and although the food is simple, it is also good and well-made, from quality components. It's run properly, with great attention to detail, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone for about anything (understand here: for a quick cuppa, for a snack, a meal with the family...). Prices are very reasonable, and the staff is lovely. On a side note, toilets are on the level of a 3* or 4* hotel. Honestly. For a small cafe, this is unheard of IMO.

We used the coffee house for an all day business meeting for our management team as an off site day. We arrived and had breakfast bacon buns and drinks. Regular drinks served on demand throughout the day. Lunch was a cream tram with sandwiches, cakes...

Can't say enough about this place. Excellent food and very reasonably priced. Staff very attentive and friendly and go above and beyond to please. Very clean and lovely environment, food is excellent. Highly recommended!

First time visiting this cafe and certainly won't be the last. I rang in the morning to book for an afternoon tea for 2 and they were more than accomadating booking me in at short notice. We arrived and the cafe was busy with a few regulars but noticed straight away that the cafe and the kitchen was immaculately clean...so off to a great start! All staff were very polite and professional throughout the whole experience too. We sat and ordered our drinks and in minutes our amazing afternoon tea was presented to us and let me tell you it was one of the best I've seen...couldn't finish it and even took the rest home for later and still couldn't finish it! Great value for money and a wonderful little cafe. Thank you for a lovely lunch

As this is a coffee house I would expect the coffee to be perfect. The cappuccino I had I sent back, the replacement wasn't really any better. Basically it was a coffee with a small amount of frothed milk on top. I'm really not being funny but you need to learn how to use your coffee machine. Milk. People want alternative milks, soya doesn't really cut it nowadays, how about getting some oat or almond.. Thanks for the response. Immature!! Says the guy who can't take constructive criticism.... The coffee was a poor excuse for a cappuccino.. Only soy milk as an alternative milk! So by me ordering a coffee and sending it back makes me awkward!!! Seriously!! I didn't even mention how slow the service was, but there you go.. Look at how you have replied to other poor comments you received. You would of been better saying that you were rushed and made a poor drink. End of. I know a poorly made coffee when I see and taste one.. I have a hobby, criticising poorly made coffee, made by someone who just can't admit it. What's the cakes got to do with anything. I said they were fine just too big. See that's a honest review. Poor coffee, another honest review. Just accept it and move on.

What a fantastic place. I had a fantastic Breakfast well presented and great quality produce. My son had the Eggs Benedict. Eggs cooked to perfection. We also had homemade cakes which were delicious. Well worth a visit And very reasonably priced

First visit here for breakfast today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thick bacon always a plus and portion size good as left feeling full but not overly so. Very reasonably priced, service was pleasant. Extra points for putting the beans on the plate rather than a ramekin as most places tend to do these days. Will 💯 be back again.

Great until they forgot the crusty bread for the ploughman's. They sent an apology and offered to deliver it if I sent the address. That's when they started to get funny. Apparently 10mins away isn't local so it would be 'silly' for them to take it so wanted to drop it at mums work (care home so currently allowing no one in to protect vulnerable residents). Their parting response...'so sad....' Well I'm glad the little coffee house recognise the efforts people are going to to protect the elderly during this pandemic. Very rude!

Not as good as it used to be. Service was quite poor and we left quite disappointed. This is somewhere we used to frequent but not anymore. Spitting feathers on leaving as we'd been left for 45 minutes. A table full of empty plates, no offer for dessert or another drink and went to the counter to pay. Plenty of other places in the locality to return to

Very disappointed, having been going since this cafe first opened a friend and I loved coming here. Due to shifts we haven't met up for a long time we went today food was ok . However service was appalling, sat for 45 minutes after we had finished waiting for plates to clear before ordering a cake. Poor choice in cakes from previous visits. I would like to say this is a one off but I came on my own about five months ago . I was breastfeeding and had ordered food and water and again found service was poor, I actually took my own drink out of my bag to have a drink. It was noted that elderly visitors where taken care of well tho
