Frying Nemo in Selby

The best chippy around! It will not be beaten.

Bought a large portion of chips to share and it was barely a kids portion. So disappointed!!! Up prices and reduce portion sizes.. I understand businesses need to survive but not this way as I won't be going again.

Nah t’be the bummer o the century, like, but it’s just not the same as the proper custom recipes, eh? This Australian chain, and the creepy name, it’s a bit run down, probably shipped the fish alfway round the world, and now it’s gone a bit rubbery, you know. I’m from Whitby, and maybe I’ve ad an upgrade from these standards, but for goodness sake, it’s arder than ell to make it just right. And ya can’t just leave it angin around and gettin robery. Decent service I might ad.

Little more expensive than others but you get what you pay for highly recommended

Not a fan, as this is the only fish and chip shop in the area where the fish gives me stomach ache. The chips are great though!

Where to start… what an absolute joke!!!! I’ve had PLENTY of people in the past say the young lasses are rude and the bloke isn’t much better but I’ve never had a bad experience until yesterday. My uncle who has travelled from Hawaii was desperate for fish and chips and wanted to go to frying nemo for the famous name. He is very friendly and loves to talk to everyone and make a joke. When he said he’s travelled 11,000 miles for these fish and chips from Hawaii they said “no you’ve haven’t”, questioning him where he’s travelled from. Just outright rude. When leaving the shop, I heard the young lass say “who does he think he is Billy big balls”. My uncle was not rude, he loves to talk to everyone and have a laugh. A friendly approachable American. The fish was cold and dry. Chips were okay but ran out of curry sauce. Won’t be coming back and will be telling everyone how bad the customer service was.

I love Fish and Chips. It looks great, but the name is all I need to know this is the place.

Just bought 1 sausage&small chips 2 small fish&chips 1small peas 1small gravy It came to an astonishing £24 and fish wasn't finished by my children because "its horrible"......my children said. Its quite rare we have a takeaway because everything is just so expensive now so have a bad one at that price is upsetting. We won't be going to frying next again.

normally love this place but tonight’s tea was very disappointing asked for fish and chips and this is what i got fish wise, i mean like come on i know we’re living in hard times but really, that was what the size of a small bread cake. so i decided to try this place again months later and only again disappointed £11:50 for fish and chips and the fish was the size of a battered sausage, looks like the dopy looking woman ( or whatever it identifies as ) looks like she give me a kids meal, but it really wasn’t, the second picture is fish and chips, looks like sausage and chips. Shocking

Top quality fish and chips/sausage/scallop butties, the curry sauce is good but gravy is on another level. Would highly recommend.

Me and my wife had been to Skegness 3 weeks previous and my wife commented how nice the fish and chips were, but then i told her i knew one better and it's not even on coast. i know it because i work at Drax powerstation. so i took her on Saturday lunch got Fish and chips and they did not let me down absolutely delicious cooked in beef dripping which does make a difference. Recommend to anyone

Opted for the jumbo cod (regular size looked a bit small) and it was absolutely delicious. Chips very good although the mushy peas lacked a bit of flavour but spot-on with consistency (not stodgy). Definitely visit again.

Plenty of parking outside of shop. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Best fish and chips in the area. Didn't have to wait long for my order, and it was still hot when I got home, over 2.5 miles away.

The best Chippie around by all means. I've had fish and chips from the seaside, but this beats them. And it's also better than our local chippie in Barlby. The Scallops are very good, and also they have excellent 👌 pies. You cannot fault this place. It's a great find.... Even the lite bites are excellent 👌. Lovely staff and excellent service....

This is an absolute gem of a chippie. Staff are fantastic and the quality of the fish and chips is nothing short of amazing. They are tasty, high quality, great value for money and brilliantly cooked. An amazing place to visit

The fish, chips and peas were very tasty and the portions size - for a teenager and an adult- was about right (we felt well fed but not bloated). We arrived shortly after their afternoon opening but they had chips and haddock ready to serve. So we were served and on our way within a few minutes. At first I thought that the colour of the chips was a bit light but the overall taste compensated very well. I/we will definitely come here again soon- although it is a drive out for us.

Went today, staff got my order wrong, were argumentative when I tried to explain I was missing items. Very rude. In response to your reply Keely, yes I do have the right shop. Based on the tone of your reply it wouldn’t surprise me if it was you that served me.

Expensive for chips and the portion sizes for a large are shockingly small. AVOID!

Simply the best fish and chips we've ever had in a few years

I have used this chip shop on a number of previous occasions and had no major issues. However on my last visit the size of the light bite fish was rediculously small, half the size it would normally be. I called the shop and they said the manager would call me back the next day, never received any call.

We travel from Eastoft 20 miles away as it's the best Fish n Chippy around.

Excellent fish and chips, the cod is so thick and fresh, you also get lots of scraps if you ask for them which is also a bonus.

First class service .extremely clean premises. Fish and chips second to none. Staff always helpful and pleasant . We have been using this fish shop since it opened on a regular basis and can honestly say we have never had an issue with anything or anyone. In a cardboard tray 👍👍👍 Best tasting takeaway tea ever!!!. Staff fantastic, will return when in the area. Ate in public garden next to shop, beautiful location and well looked after.

Very generous portions, cooked well. Fish (haddock) was delicious but cod cooked to order in 9 minutes.

If you are a fully sized adult and you are hungry dont bother eating from here, with the size of the portions you'd think bags of potatoes were about £50 a bag. Shocking

Peas taste like baby food, and the chips were uncooked and very small.

Found this restaurant whilst driving country roads. Absolutely tastefull fried fish here. Really decent pricing for good quality. Not to crowded but whomever drives on the m62 and is fancy for some fish is rated to make the detour.
