Really enjoyed the experience here. Warm welcome, good service, delicious food served hot. Pleasant atmosphere with no loud music. They even have a pub dog.

Acabo de comer el domingo aquí. Absolutamente fantástico de principio a fin. Después de un muy buen arranque cada uno de los principales vino. Carne de res para mí y cerdo para mi novia. Pedí carne rara y se cocinó perfecto. Las patatas asadas con grasa de ganso eran increíbles. El cerdo era increíble y las verduras estaban cocinadas a la perfección. Los yorkies eran excelentes también. Para terminar tomé la tarta de queso, nunca había comido nada tan delicioso en mi vida. Después de comer en muchos restaurantes de la zona un domingo esto fue lo mejor. 2 bebidas cada uno, y 2 capuchinos para terminar un maravilloso almuerzo. Incluso tengo cambio de una tonelada. Excelente relación calidad-precio... muy, muy recomendable 👍

: Absolutamente insípido luke comida caliente. Almorzamos el domingo que consistía en pollo y cordero. El pollo estaba seco, las patatas asadas eran tan duras y viejas que eran difíciles de cortar, el pudín de Yorkshire era grande pero como goma y la verdura venía en una guarnición nadando en el agua ¿de qué se trata todo eso! Había un montón de salsa con lo que me refiero a que el plato estaba rebosante, pero de nuevo era insípido y tibio caliente. El cordero estaba demasiado cocido y soso, lo que es difícil de lograr, pero lo lograron. La otra cosa era que debía haber diez perros en el restaurante con dueños y en un momento dado un miembro del personal salió de la cocina con algo de comida para un perro. Cómo este lugar tiene tantas críticas de cinco estrellas me supera. En general, una experiencia muy mala para nosotros, ya que nos gusta la comida fresca sabrosa y bien cocinada caliente y tristemente encontramos esto que falta en este establecimiento. Desafortunadamente, el sitio web brillante está muy lejos de la experiencia real.

Booked for evening meal the food staff and service were excellent only negative was it's a dog friendly pub there was at least 5 with there owners in the dining area this might put some people of but if don't mind dogs it's a must try restaurant see no in see

Estábamos sentados rápidamente y el personal estaba cuidando de un restaurante completo muy eficientemente, un gran servicio amable. La hoja de plumas de ternera estofada era impresionante y mi caña de cordero era de un tamaño generoso y cocinada a la perfección. Nada era demasiado problema y aunque era nuestra primera visita en mucho tiempo sin duda volveremos. Gracias Herreros por una noche maravillosa. Definitivamente vale la pena una visita.

Elegimos este restaurante debido a las buenas críticas y no nos decepcionó! La comida era excelente y felicitaciones al chef! Para la comida del pub era de primera clase con un excelente menú variado, buena presentación y servicio. Sin duda volveremos a visitar y recomendaría a fondo. Fue decepcionante ver que para un almuerzo del sábado no había mucha gente, pero tal vez las noches son diferentes. Es un lugar grande, aunque un poco cansado en zonas y necesitado de alguna reforma. Hay una gran zona exterior y un montón de aparcamiento. El pub está situado en un pueblo precioso y vale la pena ir en coche. ¡Ciertamente merece estar más ocupado!

Somos una familia de 4 y pre-reservamos nuestra mesa. Este pub está en un pequeño pueblo encantador. Como lugareños habíamos utilizado anteriormente este pub en el pasado y estaba muy impresionado con la comida y el servicio y el precio. Septiembre 2024 fue totalmente diferente. . El personal de espera de los niños y el gerente también era joven. Llegamos y nos sentamos enseguida. El pesebre estaba detrás de la barra haciendo pedidos de bebidas. Ella también tenía una tableta para los clientes pre-reservados y cuando llegaron ella claramente había sobre-reservado y pidió a cada cliente pre-reservado que esperara su mesa. Tuvimos dos fish and chips y dos cenas de carne asada. El pescado y las patatas fritas eran agradables. El asado de ternera no. Las patatas no se cocinaron en grasa de ganso y la carne de res era medio raro y muy duro la verdura mixta estaba bien. El Yorkshire puddings estaba bien y nadando en salsa espesa. El personal de espera que teníamos era bastante lento en tomar pedidos y la comida era un poco de una espera. Envié mi plato de vuelta como no me gusta la carne roja que tiene que ser cocinado en todo el porro. Me dieron un plato fresco de comida con la carne cocinada correctamente y todavía no lo disfruté. Mi marido y mi hijo disfrutaron de su pescado con patatas fritas, pero la salsa tártara casera era abmissable. Teníamos 3 postres y estábamos contentos con ellos. Nuestra experiencia en general fue buena, pero estaba mal administrado y un pub de campo con ser un pub local estable en el pasado estaba claramente dirigido por un consorcio de gerentes y el personal no estaba funcionando bien. Fue una pena, pero la cervecería estaba desordenada y aunque se podía llevar perros en eso era lo único positivo.

Lovely pub food was amazing and the service and staff were so welcoming and completely dog friendly 🥰, needed somewhere to stop for the night in the camper and came across this on park for nights highly recommended 😀 keep good local pubs going they are few and far between now 🥰

Lovely Sunday roast, hearty portion staff were friendly and polite Shame about the other patrons. Barley had time to swallow our meal without being starred at and assessed Don't attend unless you want to be followed by a white van !!!! Be very wary especially if you have dogs What a shame!!! Not the pubs fault. . .

Fantastic quality and value! Well worth a drive out to this pub, particularly for Sunday lunch. We were a table of 17 for a birthday meal, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and lovely. The Sunday roast was outstanding, perfect roast beef, huge Yorkshire puddings, gravy good enough to drink by the pint with tons of really nicely cooked veg (not nursing home mush!) … all round quality experience. Good range of beer and a good wine list. Will definitely be returning soon.

We visited today with our car club. We needed a coffee stop, Danielle and her staff came up trumps. We phoned two days before asking if the pub would be open when we passed. Sadly, it didn't open until 12.00, but Danielle very kindly opened 30 minutes early for us. Exceptional customer service. I'd give 10 stars if I could. The pub is very homely and cosy. I could definitely spend a lot of time in there. I haven't eaten there, but hopefully I'll put that right soon. It makes a massive impression on me when people go out of their way to give good customer service, and Danielle and the staff made us feel really welcome. They did a brilliant job at such short notice. Really looking forward to seeing Danielle and the wonderful Blacksmiths Arms again.👍.

Excellent meal brilliant staff third time we’ve been in the last couple of months and consistently excellent. Cannot fault the staff they couldn’t help enough with my mum who’s in a wheelchair so helpful and pleasant.

I couldn't fault the Blacksmiths before but recently the food seems to have gone up a level. Love the welcoming atmosphere and Dexter the pub dog is a family favourite. Great beer garden for the upcoming sunny weather aswell.

We dined here with friends for lunch, service was great, very friendly, we couldn’t fault any of the dishes, they were all lovely. We have dined here several times over the last year or two and always enjoy it. Portions are generous, well presented and really well cooked. We’ve been for lunch, midweek dinners and Sunday roasts

Lovely pub, but very poor service! There was no hello thank you, goodbye nothing waiting on staff that looked as if couldn't couldn't care less! Sunday lunch was okay nothing flash at all, the beef had a lot of sinew in it and chewy, pork was tough and only 2 small slices, Yorkshire pudding very nice and the stuffing was lovely, the heavy is like treacle and tasteless and the veg- very shabby-a bit like the roast potatoes hard on the outside and dry on the inside! Lot of room for improvement here and why is so busy is beyond me! Think about a nice red wine heavy, gooey potatoes, mashed potato, cauliflower cheese, in season vegetables as well as a decent portion of meat especially for £16/£17 and train your staff to be polite attentive and smile instead of propping up the bar! A shame really as the setting of this lovely pub is idyllic

Don’t normally leave reviews but came here for a nice evening meal on a recommendation and what a little gem of a pub it is. Ended up having a full 3 course meal because the food was just so good and great value. Super friendly and relaxed atmosphere and a really friendly dog to boot. Staff were super attentive and extremely friendly couldn’t ask for more. The icing on the cake were the specials and the cozy log burner really bringing the winter vibes. Will recommend to everyone.

We stayed here with our campervan on the carpark and we're blown away by the quality of the food. This is a little gem hidden in a hamlet, but it should have at least one Michelin star. Quiet ambiance, pleasant waiter. Worth every penny.

Three of us ( all adults) visited for Sunday lunch today for the 3rd time. It was one of the best, if not the best Sunday roasts we have ever had! The pork and lamb shank were beautifully cooked, the roast potatoes cooked in goose fat were incredible and the plentiful vegetables were so tasty...all topped off with huge Yorkshire puddings and delicious gravy. My son had never been here before, but he will be back and so will we! Amazing pub in a lovely, quiet village setting and very efficient friendly staff. What more could you want...not to be missed.!

I've not been here for many years, it's a bit out of the way but I was nearby so stopped for lunch. It's a traditional pub with three real ales but the food is restaurant quality and a cut above the average pub food, well presented and clearly home made. We had three courses and everything was excellent, swift service and reasonable prices given the quality. We are on a weekday and the place was quiet but we would definitely return.

Took my parent's here for father's day as our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last! Delicious roast dinner with huge portions and great quality food. The pub itself has a great atmosphere and everyone working was friendly. I'm looking forward to many roast dinners here in the future!

Staying at a campsite down the road, called in on the off chance with our two dogs in tow on a Saturday evening, the landlord made us extremely welcome. I had the Chorizo and roasted garlic chicken Kiev, the wife had the fish and chips. Both meals were excellent, so much so that we booked for Sunday lunch. Again neither of us were disappointed and should we pass this way again we‘ll make a point of calling in again

Great pint of beer and friendly service. Roast pork gravy and crackling were delicious and vegetables were fresh and em tasty but roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were a bit stale and chewy. Puddings were all very very nice. Sticky toffee pudding and the apple and blackberry crumble were very well done

We used to eat here many years ago and the food was always excellent. Having returned now my parents live near by hasn’t disappointed. Sunday lunch is one of the best we’ve had, and we like to think we’ve tried some of the very best home-cooked from scratch, non-carvery SL that Yorkshire has to offer. Such a generous portion of meat, beef pink and tender. Giant Yorkshire, well cooked veg, goose fat potatoes. Gravy is Devine. Such great value for money when you compare this to the likes of an-overrated, pre-prepped meal you get for the same price at a large chain. The welcome is always great, and nothing is too much trouble. (One lad looks a bit sad, but you never know what people have going on). Hand pulled ales are great and a delicious selection of home made desserts. There is nothing that is at fault. Even the dog made himself at home!

Haven't been to the Blacksmith Arms, since pre COVID. What a pleasant surprise, excellent service and food. Missed the Ribs, sold out, get them next time, but everyone in our party, (10), enjoyed both their mains and deserts. The Beef Blade was really good, fish and chips, fish pie and Steak pie , all got a good comments. The Sticky Toffee pudding and Apple Crumble, were described as best ever. Can recommend,

Shut when they feel like it. Turned all the lights off and left us sat in the dark with drinks at 9pm on a Thursday evening. Made us feel very unwelcome.

Wow A family Sunday meal, Great choices. We had A beef and pork roast and one fish and chips. I now know why it's so hard to book, melt in the mouth meat, fresh vegetables a good choice not just peas and carrots 🙂 the fish was excellent and the Yorkshire puddings!!!! So we had to have puddings it would be rude not too. A crème brulle, raspberry and chocolate cheesecake and a Black forest Sunday. Thank you for a truly amazing meal.

Popped in for lunch yesterday, 1st time we've been there and what a lovely place, comfortable seating with a warm and friendly greeting as we entered the pub, we choose Fish and Chips, a Chicken Vegetable dish and Vegetable Couscous. Whilst we waited we had drinks, aside from the usual larger/beers were two hand pull ales, a Semer Water Pale Ale and Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker Yorkshire Bitter. We chose the Semer Water and Timothy Taylor's, the Semer was exceptional...a lovely Pale Ale one of the best I've had both beers served beautifully, nice temp etc. When the food arrived we could tell we were in for a treat, all three meals were lovely, beautifully cooked and presented, portion size was healthy also 🙂. We also had pudding and again the three we had (Sticky toffee pudding, Raspberry and Chocolate cheesecake and Butterscotch crème brulee) were amazing. This was a gem of a find for us and will definitely go again/recommend.

The food here is consistently outstanding and very reasonably priced. Fish pie was packed full of big chunks of fish including salmon. Absolutely delicious. Have been here on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely, relaxed and homely - in no way pretentious. Happily travel the hour and 15 minutes it takes us to get here from Sheffield as it is completely worth it. Our favourite pub for food by far!!

We go to a lot of pubs and this is by far the best. The food is unbelievable. So much so we have come back 3 times in 10 days! We are brining others with us next time. Vegetarian food is wonderful too and lots of options. Dexter is a wonderful dog and the staff are attentive, friendly and happy to see you. Love it.

Called today 15 / 01 / 2023 for Sunday lunch it was our first visit and won't be the last especially as we are local. The staff were friendly , helpful and polite and made you feel welcome, dog friendly and had a visit from Dexter the pub dog likes to wander around didn't beg for food the kids loved stroking him ( not mine ).Back to the food well prepared and piping hot , portions larger than average but not over welming and good quality and very reasonable price. The pub is cosy with log burner and excellent choice of beers. 100%
