Afternoon tea was very nice, the only thing I can say was a problem was trying to find someone when we arrived, it took 10-15 mins to locate someone. We had a very pleasant afternoon and the food was lovely and plentiful. We would happily go back again. Perhaps you need to upgrade your disabled ramp.

A lovely B&B in a great location. The owners Jane and Nigel were very accommodating, we arrived late but Jane went above and beyond to ensure we had our room key. Our room was small but clean and we had a lovely home cooked English breakfast included within the price which was great value for money. Nigel even gave us a lift to our car the next morning when we were unable to get a taxi! Highly recommended!

Popped in for an evening meal. 2 x very tasty burgers and some good beer later we left very happy. It isn't the grandest of places, but it does deliver good food at a fair price. Would definitely return if we were staying longer.

I ordered a too good to go bag from here for £5, so couldn't really complain when we got given about 5 different types of pasties for it. Pasties were ok, tasted nice, but i think having them hot would have been better. But like i said, for £5 for all that we got it wasn't to bad. Would have been nice to have less pasties and some cakes mind.

When we arrived the manager was sitting in the restaurant doing paperwork. I explained we had booked, but should never spoke to me directly, just called a member of staff and turned away. There was confusion over what menu we could order from and the waitress said she would bring them out to us when she know which was the right one. Eventually she brought out a snack menu which clearly wasn’t correct. We had to take them back and eventually were given the right one. There was a long wait for our order to be taken and we could have left had the waitress not been so apologetic and pleasant The menu was more pub grub than restaurant standard, and several items were unavailable. Two of out party settled for the lasagna. When it came it was frozen apart from the top. It was not fresh and had not even been microwaved properly, and had to be sent back When I complained the manager eventually spoke to me, and acted as if she didn’t know anything about the problems we had. The food was poor, the attitude and lethargy of the management was worse. This restaurant reflects poorly on the sports club, and wouldn’t survive as a stand alone business

We enjoyed our night at this well run, clean and friendly hotel. The three course evening meal was freshly prepared and delicious. Our room was spotless and well presented. We both are surprised this is only a two star rated hotel, as our experience exceeded many four stars we’ve stayed in. Our breakfast was again delicious. The staff are all attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. It has ample parking and a beautiful rear garden with seating. If we are in the region again, we would wholeheartedly head for The Tumbling Weir, Thank~you

We were on our way home from Preston and trying to think of a good chippy in Blackburn but sadly we realised all the good ones were no longer open. We came across Cherry Tree chippy but wondered if it would be ok as it’s a Chinese take away ( not that we’re averse to a Chinese) . We ordered steak pud ( Hollands) chips, large mushy peas and large gravy. Theirs plenty of chips for 2 in a portion of chips. It was absolutely delicious and hot even though we were several miles from home. Took a menu and we will certainly be back. Staff really pleasant and quick service.

Muchas gracias al equipo del restaurante en la mansión, especialmente Michael, por garantizar un almuerzo familiar perfectamente coreografiado para 18 . No podrías haber sido más útil o eficiente.

This restaurant used to combine a charming, historic setting with a wide menu of hearty food (the cauliflower cheese was world class) but now the bill of fare is on a par with an average roadside café: Pasties, beans on toast, jacket potatoes etc. The staff are as friendly as before, but the magic has gone.

I was excited to try the kiosk after visiting the area on holiday. Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations. The server was neither welcoming nor friendly. The sandwiches I ordered were due to come with coleslaw and a side salad. But when I opened the box neither were inside. I’m not very assertive so it took a lot for me to go back in and explain to the server. He said he’d run out of coleslaw but could do a side salad. No apology or hadn’t mentioned this when I placed my order. I wouldn’t have bothered paying over £16 for just two sandwiches. Sadly I didn’t have the confidence to ask for my money back as my anxiety got the better of me, so walked away. The sandwiches were tasty and the bread fresh, but we won’t be going back I’m afraid. Really disappointed. Everywhere else we’ve been had been so friendly with good customer service.

We were on a trip to Edinburgh to meet family for The Fringe. We had some time to spare and had been driving all night from Banbury, and came across this place. We got here around 7.50am and two lovely ladies were more than happy to accomdate us for a lovely piping hot breafast. Great portions, brilliant service, and extremely friendly. Defiantly recommend for a nice quiet, hot, friendly breakfast!!!!
