A lovely B&B in a great location. The owners Jane and Nigel were very accommodating, we arrived late but Jane went above and beyond to ensure we had our room key. Our room was small but clean and we had a lovely home cooked English breakfast included within the price which was great value for money. Nigel even gave us a lift to our car the next morning when we were unable to get a taxi! Highly recommended!

This is an old pub converted to a B&B, it is full of character, beams and original features from the old pub. There is parking on site, the downside is that it is on the main road between Telford and Kidderminster and if the window is open there is traffic noise, the windows do need some upgrading/painting but having said that the location is very convenient. This is not a sleek modern place but my room was clean, the bed was comfy, tea and coffee in the room, hairdryer and a plug in fan which was welcome on the warm evening i stayed. I was asked what time i would like my breakfast in the morning and the breakfast was fantastic, well presented and cooked perfectly.

I recently stayed for a night at this wonderful old building situated in the Lower Town portion of Bridgnorth. The Coach House ( formally a pub and later additionally a Restaurant is now solely a B&B,. The owners Nigel and Jane and created a very pleasant Home from Home which is just minutes from the River Severn and surrounded by Pubs and restaurants. My room was on the first floor and of a good size considering the structure of the property. The room was very well furnished with what appeared to be a new and well appointed Shower room. The staff fell over themselves to welcome me and looked after my luggage for hours either side of my short stay allowing me to visit the S.V.R and Bridgnorth. The morning I departed I was provided with a well above average cooked to order breakfast served in a most charming dining room. I found the rate I was charged very good value and the service far better than many 3* and above hotels I have visited in this Country. All in all a great stay .

We stayed there with friends, 6 of us. The hotel is perfectly placed to walk across the bridge into Bridgnorth. It is clean, value for money accommodation, with friendly staff, the rooms have everything you need and the breakfast was very good and fresh. There is a small car park as well. We will stay there again definitely.

Very friendly run, smart and welcoming guest house, chosen out of the blue. First plus is actually having free off road parking ! Greeted by Jane upon arrival, who was extremely nice, and showed us to our two rooms. Very pleasant, and well furnished rooms, with a superb bonus of a remote control wall fan - life saver in the heat during our visit ! Lovely spacious shower, and clean towels both days we were there. Stairs are steep, but lots of properties in the area look like period buildings. Indeed one cottage nearby was quoted as Elizabethan in origin, so actually not too bad unless you struggle with mobility. Obviously new carpets down in our room, gorgeous thick pile ! Usual amenities provided, tea and coffee and biscuits etc, tv set. Beds very comfy, and plenty of storage for clothes etc. My favourite part was breakfast, with full English on offer, and top quality bacon and sausage - my absolute minimum requirement met in one lol !. Best of all, served by Tina, very attentive to all the tables, nothing too much trouble, and even tried (in vain) to engage 16 year old son in conversation ! She connected with all the guests, talking to us all where she could, and made a lovely change from the odd surly type we came across in other parts of the area. I know it's difficult to smile and keep and calm and serve fussy guests or customers, but Tina, who is just an employee was gold medal standard, and I know I couldn't do her job ! Jane's husband Nigel recommended an Indian restaurant for the three of us for one evening meal, and oh my what a choice ! Blue Ginger, reviewed by me elsewhere ! Superb ! What is good enough for the proprietors certainly good enough for us. Read other reviews about noisy road affecting sleep, but have to say not a problem to us. May have been difficult with windows open, but fan could be controlled by remote control, and on timer, so cool air circulating, and all ok. Lots of choice for breakfast, and so much fresh fruit went down really well with us as a starter for main course. Plenty of coffee and various teas, replenished with more toast too if required. My son tried smoked salmon for the first time, with scrambled egg, and it must have been good as he actually commented on it, lifting his head away from his smart phone !! Very conveniently located in the lowtown, and a ten minute walk to Severn Valley Railway, our main reason for visiting. Would love to go back and repeat our stay, and this would be our first place of enquiry to stay. No evening meals available as we stayed, but plenty of exciting options in the town, and to be honest that is what we were after, as we can then explore the town too. Highly recommended !

The food was excellent as usual, however my husband got the wrong steak but he is the sort that would not say anything any way , but the service was terrible this time we waited and waited 45mins to get sweet menu then we had to ask them to come and take the order and the 2 waiters where chatting behind the bar other diners that came in after us where finish paid and gone I will not let this put me off but be aware if you catch it on a bad day you may have to wait . Hence a 3 star rating this time purely for the service we received

Having been a visitor to Bridge-North 'once a year' for the past 10 years or so i have seen this old 'coach house' in various guises including a pub...a pub / wine bar with accommodation and 'closed for refurbishment....it has seemed to struggle to find a comfortable identity. However this November once more i visited Bridge-north with friends and noticed this place has now become a 'Steakhouse'. we intended to have a few drinks in the town center and decided a steak supper would be a pleasant change. We briefly called in at 7pm and asked at reception if they could accommodate a table for 3 at 8.30....we were told no problem and went for a drink in the pretty town of bridge-north. Upon returning at 8.30 we entered a warm and well coming restaurant and were shown to a table. we noticed the tables were nicely spaced out which is a pet hate of mine as i don't want our conversation overheard nor to hear the adjacent table. the staff could not have been more polite and helpful. we all chose from a selection of eight starters which were generous in size and very pleasantly presented. I had a Pan fried king prawns in garlic butter with a small salad and a chlli jam....it was excellent. My companions had a soup of the day and black pudding and poached free range egg with salad and crusty bread...both reported back favorably. its a steakhouse so no real surprises what we went for...they do however do a mixed grill chicken and lamb dishes also fish and several vegetarian options if steak is not to your taste. i elected a 8oz fillet...my friends a T bone and a Rib-eye. they arrived cooked exactly as requested. the accompanying vegetable kebab skewer and potatoes were perfectly cooked. we each chose a suitably pleasant pudding....none appearing on any weight watchers diet. service throughout was excellent. there was no rush to vacate our table and on speaking to the host Jane told us a little of the history of the building. with a bottle of red recommended by one of my friends it passed a very pleasant evening. not cheap coming in at about the £40 a head with bar drinks and possibly reserved for a treat i would recommended this venue without reserve.

Although we live within 10minutes walk...this was our first visit to The Coach House ..but to be honest was NOT the first choice destination for a birthday dinner with my wife. However I had previously heard from several people that it was a decent local steakhouse and..being partial to a good steak decided to give it a go. We received a nice friendly welcome on arrival, and despite making the reservation only a day before, (for the Saturday evening), were very pleased with our table..none were crammed together and the atmosphere was pleasantly informal and relaxed. After being seated, we were immediately offered drinks...and it must be said that the service continued to be friendly, attentive and helpful throughout the evening. Being a steakhouse the menu is obviously biased towards steaks..but incidentally noticed they also offered fish and poultry, presumably for those less inclined on the house speciality...although we were alway intent on steaks and red wine! We both had the prawns to start..which we both thought tasty and very good. The choice of main course however led to the only point of slight dissatisfaction and indeed surprise... the fact that a steakhouse could run out of the top of the range..'T Bone'. by 8am on a Saturday evening!...which incidentally i'd decided on having...but then had to downgrade to the second choice..and less expensive 'rib eye'...which wasn't too much of a hardship to bear...but not great for business! The steaks were served with peppercorn sauce, proper chips, onion rings and grilled vegetables on a skewer...all was nice and simple, everything was hot and freshly cooked..but properly done...i had asked for my steak medium rare..and that is precisely what i got. To accompany the meal we chose the Californian (Zinfandel/Merlot/Cabernet) red (about £20.00) which was very good..and went down nicely with the steaks. To finish it was creme brûlée for me..which was excellent, and bread and butter pudding for my wife. All in the bill at £102.00 was about what i expected to pay...and reasonable for what we had. To conclude we enjoyed a pleasant evening at a good local steakhouse, were well looked after, and would give it another go..if only to try the elusive 'T Bone'!

Driven past many times but never got around to visiting until last friday. Pate and stuffed mushrooms for starters, platter to share followed by a mixed grill and sea food platter all were excellent and I genuninely mean everything. The service was great, no attempts to hurry you through your courses and the waiting staff kept interuptions to a minimum but were available and attentative as required. The restaurant is only small but is well laid out, drinks, starters and main course worked out at about £30 per head which for the standard is priced correctly. I would definately return and would highly recommend to friends.

My partner and I had dinner here last night after three months of moving into the area... Why we waited, I will never know. I have eaten so many cuts of steaks in many countries as it's my favourite meal however the fillet steak here at The Coach House was quite literally the best fillet I have ever eaten. Sliced like butter, tasted so beautiful and the quality of the meat was outstanding. Not to mention the fantastic selection of wines, nicely presented starters before our steaks and the amazing beef dripping chips and vegetable kebabs that came with our main. It really was the best steak I've had... Cannot wait for the next one there in a couple of weeks. Thank you x :)

Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening again .

Having heard good reports, 4 of us went last night. Everything was superb. The food was delicious. Three of us had steaks which seem to be a speciality and they exceeded expectations but all the food was of the highest standard and beautifully presented. This is a proper restaurant experience with proper tablecloths, napkins and efficient, friendly table service without lengthy delays. Prices are very reasonable; there are many pubs that charge far more where ordering at the bar and eating on a bare table are all that is on offer. We recommend this restaurant most strongly and, although we have no experience of the accommodation, we read from the testimony of others that owners seem to have got this aspect of the business right as well.

We recently went here for my dads birthday - my choice as I'd never been here before and love local. Ordered the 'king prawns' and they were tiny, small side salad which I also found an ant in - they swapped my dish but the rest of the party had finished before I got my food and it was not even refunded on the bill. The mains were great although everyone's steak was under done to what they asked. My steak was extremely rare, when I asked for medium rare. Very tasty however. Had run out of a few of the deserts and we had an early meal booked. Overall the food was good however I feel that for the price it wasn't worth it. Would say it's more pub grub and should be pub grub prices. Staff fairly friendly, took all the plates away while my nan was still eating which I felt extremely rude and she was forced to either leave it or quickly eat it, ruining her night as it happened on both courses!!!

Then on to the sweets, sticky toffee pudding yum yum . The service was second to none all the staff made you feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble. Unfortunately I can only comment on the attitude of the lady who we saw when we tried to have a meal there. All the doors when locked and there was a notice on one door to say you had to call a number first. We could see a lady in the window, who when see saw us pulled down the blind!! So i ran the bell, she half opened the door and I said "is the restaurant not open?" she replied "No only on Thus, Fri and Sat" and shut the door!! No "sorry" or "would you like me to book you in for another night". We were more than a little taken back. So dont go here if you are looking for a warm and friendly welcome!! Dont think they are right for this kind of business somehow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

The deserts however were not good, I ordered eaton mess which was made up of mostly synthetic cream! They then tried to charge us for an round of drinks!

Upon arriving we were greeted by the proprietor of the restaurant and she is friendly, knowledgable and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The decor of The Coach House is beautiful and tables are laid out smartly and the chairs are comfortable as well!Lots of dishes to tempt you, decided not to go for a starter although the choice was fantastic, and headed straight for the lasagne with chips and coleslaw. What can I say except for one word - delicious. You can tell this is really good, not mass produced food, and the chips are to die for, they come served in their own little dish with baking parchment underneath - very cute. The coleslaw is obviously home made as well as the lasagne and it is simply delicious. I think I am going to have to return again to sample a few other meals on the menu!I want to wish the female proprietor all the best with this restaurant, she certainly knows how to run a business. I would recommend locals and non locals to seek out this restaurant, you will not be disappointed. Cannot wait to come back again soon!

We visited the coach house as a group of 4 and on the whole we all considered the experience to be pretty average. The welcome was very pleasant and we were made to feel very welcomeThe starters were delivered and were enjoyed by all!The 'average' issues then began:-First the waitress came with 4 steak knives and asked who was having steak tomwhich we replied "all,of us" thats why you have 4 knivesThe drinks waiter then took the wine order which was ordered by name, however the waiter did not know the names of the wine and we had to order by 'number' - would not have been much use had we wished for a recommendation. The steaks duly arrived, however my wife's had to be sent back; she ordered her steak 'medium to well' stressing that it should be nearer well than medium - it was cooked medium/rare. This meant that we had to eat our meals whilst my wife had her meal redone, obviously we finished well before my wifeThese are matters that can be corrected with a lilttle more care and attention and we will see whether things have improved when we go back

Visited this lovely country pub following recommendations from neighbours. The menu is small but full of home made dishes. As a group of 4 we enjoyed chicken and Stilton pie and vegetables, gammon, sweetcorn, chips and pineapple, chilli con carne and a really meaty pork chop, chips and peas. Really good home cooked food so much better than the normal pub grub. It also means the menu changes regularly. Sensibly priced making eating out a pleasure. Desserts just had to be tried. The whisky bread and butter pudding was suitably named and the apple crumble with custard was a winner too. The Sunday roast advertised at £9.30 will have to be tried another weekend. Delicious home cooked food is always so much better than bought in dishes. We praised the chef and June for a lovely warm welcome and a great meal.

I must echo the views of others. A really lovely restaurant spoiled by sparrows landing on the the table where cakes are being cut and on uncleared tables. Very unhygienic - there must be a way to stop them coming into the tearooms. Never encountered it anywhere else. Health and safety would have a field day!
