Highlander Bar in Highland

Tuve el placer de visitar The Highlander en Inverness, y no podría haber pedido una mejor experiencia. Vine con el objetivo de probar los famosos haggis de Escocia por primera vez, pero tengo que admitir que estaba un poco nervioso. Afortunadamente, mi hotel me recomendó The Highlander, y ahí fue donde conocí a la encantadora Georgia. Su enfoque cálido y amable inmediatamente me puso a gusto, haciendo la experiencia aún más agradable. No solo me tranquilizó sobre probar haggis, sino que también me recomendó cerveza Dog Falls, que me encantó. El haggis estaba delicioso, perfectamente preparado, y realmente hizo honor a su reputación. Muchas gracias a Georgia por su amabilidad, al talentoso chef por la fantástica comida, y a Dog Falls por hacer una cerveza tan exquisita! Y, por supuesto, gracias, Inverness, por recibirme, ¡definitivamente volveré!

Estábamos deambulando por Inverness y nos encontramos con The Highlander y nos sentimos atraídos instantáneamente por el sonido de la música tradicional escocesa (tocada por Tartan Paint). Originalmente planeamos pasar por una pinta, pero nos encantó tanto la música y el ambiente - decidimos quedarnos por más tiempo - incluyendo pedir la cena! La comida era deliciosa y escocesa y no pude resistir terminar con una porción de Mars Bar frito. ¿Cuando estás en Escocia? Tartan Paint eran increíbles y la música era tan agradable. El personal. comida y bebidas en oferta eran todos maravillosos. Sin duda merece la pena una visita y echar un vistazo a la vibra!

Teníamos una reserva de mesa abierta para cuatro. Nos sentamos en una mesa vacía y un hombre borracho vino e intentó compartir la mesa. Así que pasamos a una mesa diminuta. Cuando intentamos pedir comida, la camarera nos envió de vuelta a nuestra mesa original porque el hombre se había ido. Luego regresó y comenzó a gritarle a mi hija. Un cliente intervino y alguien del bar se acercó a hablar con el hombre. Fue ruidoso y aterrador, pero no hicieron nada al respecto. Mi familia se fue. Una hora más tarde, pasamos por el restaurante y vimos al hombre borracho todavía sentado en la mesa de cuatro personas en la sala llena, sin comprar nada. Un lugar aterrador para los turistas si no pueden manejar a gente como esta.

Tomó un viaje de una noche a Inverness y descubrimos el bar Highlander, nos sentimos seducidos por la auténtica y tradicional música en vivo. Entró y no fue decepcionado, excelente selección de cervezas y un ambiente eléctrico. Pasamos algún tiempo hablando con el personal del bar, Ewen y Georgia, que eran muy amables e informativos. Hizo la experiencia 100 veces mejor. Kirsty (el portero) también nos ayudó con las direcciones y en general tenía buen craic. Recomendaría encarecidamente a cualquiera que visite Inverness, y haría un fantástico local también

Fui por unas copas y comida. Tomamos un par de botellas de vino, entonces un miembro del personal puso un cartel en nuestra mesa diciendo que la mesa estaba de repente reservada, sin explicación, solo tuvimos que irnos. Varias otras tablas afectadas también. Fuimos a otro bar en Inverness donde nos trataron mucho mejor.

¡Este lugar es genial! El "pub grub" habitual en el menú, hecho muy bien. Servicio amable, música en vivo todas las noches. ¡Volveremos!

Sándwiches exuberantes de pescado. Precioso pan fresco, dedos de pescado adecuados y hermosa piel en patatas fritas. Servido maravillosamente con una guarnición preciosa. Recomendaría encarecidamente +++. Delicioso 😋

¡Gran lugar! Tanto Fish and Chips y Steak / Ale pastel eran geniales en días separados. Vi a Rhuari Campbell dos veces, fantásticas las dos noches. Ambiente eléctrico en el pub, mucho canto y muy amable. Uno de los mejores pubs en los que he estado.

¿Un lunes lluvioso por la noche en Inverness? No hay problema, visite el Highlander para una noche divertida de música tradicional escocesa en vivo (cada noche, no solo los lunes). Vinimos a calentarnos y nos topamos con este increíble bar moderno que sirve una gran variedad de cervezas, comida que se veía muy bien, y la gente haciendo cola para conseguir comida. Tomamos unas copas y nos quedamos horas escuchando la música. ¡Una noche cualquiera!

Hatten den Tipp von unserem Vermieter bekommen. Livemusik und relativ günstige Preise haben uns dann überzeugt. Die Karte gibt einiges her und es war lecker. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Whiskey. Hier kann man auch einige Originale beobachten. ;-)

Qué lugar tan divertido. Buena onda. Gran música en vivo. La comida y la bebida eran encantadoras también. Pub escocés con un ambiente moderno. Muy recomendable

Me encanta este pub, gran personal, gran ambiente y buena comida. Siempre una cálida bienvenida y un gran lugar para pasar una noche fuera.

Bellissimo pub nel cuore di Inverness, dove per 34 sterline abbiamo pranzato bene a base di insalata di formaggio di capra, panino con filetti di pesce impanati e due pinte di birra locale. Il servizio è amichevole e rapido, i bagni sono puliti e ben tenuti.

Fue comida de mañana, por lo que no valoramos la música en vivo. Excelente comida escocesa, el ambiente es agradable y el servicio fue amable, aunque un poco lento.

We just happened to drop by this place as the board outside said they serve Haggis. So, we ordered and then we got a wonderful experience with good food and live traditional Scottish music. We really enjoyed our visit. The food was good and the entertainment even better. Would highly recommended Highlander Bar to be on your visit-list if you are visiting Inverness.

We visited here while in inverness and had the best night of our whole trip. The live music was fantastic and there was even a mini dancing session at the front. Busy but fantastic

Musique et ambiance traditionnelle... Au top! Vaut mieux venir tôt pour avoir une place, mais ça bouge vite, avec de la patience on peut arriver à trouver une place.

Allez goûter leur haggis ! Délicieux ! Service souriant et rapide. Nous y avons déjeuner car la veille nous n’avons pas pu y dîner tellement il y avait la queue.le personnel est très agréable.

We have searched Scotland for traditional music and finally found it at The Highlander. It was definitely Scottish not Irish and, as a tourist over a certain age, I was grateful they had an early set in addition to the late set so we could get to bed and enjoy the next day too! We liked it so much we came back for our second night and will probably go again tonight - our last night in Scotland! Thank you Highlander!

Great music and a fun night. Meal was ok Scampi a bit too bready and deep fried greasy. Chicken Balmoral was very good. Great atmosphere. Good service.

Best pub in Inverness by far. Music every day, Scottish music. Lively and loud. Amazing musicians with wide repertoire of Scottish music. Also great selection of beer, including Tennents. Lots of choices and great food. Pub food made well. If you want a great night of singing and dancing this is the place

Good pub for drinks, live music and great atmosphere, just not good food or service at lunchtime,staff busy chatting amoun themselves at the bar while i had to look for mayonaisse round all the empty tables as the bottles were all empty, food flavoureless and greasy

Ignored and forced to walk out. Three members of staff were not interested in taking our order. This place was recommended to us and we were very disappointed to have to leave hungry. Shame.

Wow x What a bar , atmosphere and music spot on Food , where do I start superb Haggis, neeps and tatties to die for , Balmoral chicken. Dish, Sam enjoyed. Reasonable priced and they have thirsty cross Scottish cider on tap . High recommended if you are in Inverness .

Visited here for an evening of Scottish music entertainment and was great. Also bar service very good, place was bouncing and food looked amazing so vowed we would go back for food another day whilst visiting Inverness this trip but oh dear what a disappointment. No more than 10 people in the place at lunch time, hubby had fish and chips which looked nice and he enjoyed but only 1 small piece of fish which cost £15 and I ordered mince, potatoes and dumpling. Wish I had taken a pic of both of them because they looked nothing like the previous pics of lovely food already posted on this page. Mince and potatoes looked like it had been sitting on a hot plate for ages and or heated in a microwave and I had to dig through the mince to try and find the 1 dumpling. Bar staff were amazing when I approached to tell them of my complaint and offered me something else from the menu which I refused and refunded my £15 no problem. Shame on you chef for letting that plate of food leave your kitchen!!!!

I dined here my first night in Inverness since it was close to my hotel and I was starving. The people working the bar were very friendly and helpful. The fish and chips were to die for! Among the best that I've ever had in the UK. I missed the music that night but did stop by again later in my stay since it was a rather blustery afternoon. A pint of Tenants and a very excellent Scotch recommendation were just what I needed. Again, the woman working at the bar was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come here again!

Ein gemütlicher Pub, schön war die Live Musik. Abzüge gibt es bei der Qualität des Essens und der Tatsache, dass es unglaublich zugig war. Das Personal war wenig engagiert, trotzdem für einen Drink empfehlenswert.

Great service, good food and a decent drinks menu! Lots of local whiskies and beers + the staff were friendly and very helpful! We popped back in the evening as we were told they have a lot of live music! It did not disappoint! What a venue! I highly recommend The Highlander Bar if you are in Inverness!

Food not bad , busy place with folk music . Rating would have been higher but the waitress came up and asked to take my plate away while I still had cutlery in hand and was still chewing . Not impressed

We were staying at a castle in nearby Dingwall, and after travelling to see Loch Ness and the Battlefield Of Culloden, my wife and I decided to check out Inverness and get something to eat and drink. We had a pint at Gellions Pub and they recommended that we check out The Highlander for something to eat. Not too far away on Church Street - we went inside and found a nice table by the windows so we could do some people watching on the street. This is a big place with lots of seating and apparently they have a lot of live music here at night. The menu is good - typical pub grub kind of stuff to choose from. My wife ordered the Beer Battered Haddock (15.00) that came with peas and chips and loved it. I decided to try the Haggis, Neeps, Tatties (14.00), which was haggis, mashed turnips and mashed potatoes in a whisky sauce and it was incredibly tasty. I also ordered some chips (4.00), which were very tasty too. Friendly servers and a welcoming atmosphere - great food at a good price - definitely check them out if you are looking for a nice place to stop for a bite and a pint in Inverness!

Masquerades as a Scottish traditional bar. As in all things that belong to England this bar struggles to understand anyone with a Scottish accent. It played English / irish/ Canadian folk music and is a total embarrassment to Scotland. As I left in despair the staff were berating a poor disgruntled Scotsman’s for the review I wrote their Fb page. Welcome to English controlled Scotland. I despair.
