We were on our way home from Preston and trying to think of a good chippy in Blackburn but sadly we realised all the good ones were no longer open. We came across Cherry Tree chippy but wondered if it would be ok as it’s a Chinese take away ( not that we’re averse to a Chinese) . We ordered steak pud ( Hollands) chips, large mushy peas and large gravy. Theirs plenty of chips for 2 in a portion of chips. It was absolutely delicious and hot even though we were several miles from home. Took a menu and we will certainly be back. Staff really pleasant and quick service.

The Chinese is under new management. This is the second time we have used them since the changs. The food the first time was average, thought we would give them a second chance as they are local. Very disappointed, the food was bland, tasteless and very expensive. Will not be back.

Disappointed in my recent order. Ordered crispy chilli beef and the beef tasted almost off. The spring rolls weren’t the best. Salt and pepper chicken was good. Disappointing because I’ve had it here before and enjoyed it.

Love this place, they do the best salt and pepper chips and chicken!! I would highly recommend a visit

Spent £25 on various starters and mains for two and it was absolutely dreadful! We both left lots due to the food being full of grease and definitely not fresh. Definitely giving this place a miss. The worst Chinese in a long time.

Crispy Duck 1/2, Honey Spare Ribs, King Prawn. All delicious and with a free portion of salty chicken wings. Best I’ve had for a long while. Thanks

Visit here every time the family is after a Chinese takeaway. Always very good never fails! Staff are friendly and helpful and hardworking. Great that they offer Chinese and Chippy, both always tasting very nice

Rally good fish & chips & friendly staff good value for money, large potions too much the fish was huge

We've had quite a few takeaways from here, we went for beef curry and fried rice, very nice and curry good, and we had fish and chips, chips are very good and the fish was fresh and tasty, oh and the potions are huge.

Local Chippy, wonderful young man works here effectively efficient at taking orders, our food is always nice, lovely chips, however the fish is odd, tasteless and thick possibly frozen due to the overly cooked batter, we will be going here regularly but not for a fish supper.

Could think of what to have for tea so we opted for our local Chinese takeaway. Had sweet and sour chicken and half rice and half chips. Excellent portions as normal Very quick service Food very good

got some chippy food and some Chinese was all ok will be returning the kids loved the sweet and sour chicken and the salt and pepper wings

Called in one Saturday night for tea, very friendly fast service, plenty of choice on the menu from Chinese to English dishes. The chippy was busy so goes to show how good it is. Will definitely be calling again.

We visited very close to closing time and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. The premises were exceptionally clean, the chips were fresh crisp and delicious and the haddock served was incredibly tender. Also portions were generous and good value. Highly recommended! Well done Hollytree!

Lovely food. Great people, service is fast and friendly. My family love it. The curry is my daughter's favorite. Chop suey rolls lush. Popular place, often packed but service is very fast.

Well known for the generous amount of chips per portion. Chinese food good . Mainly purchase fish and chips, value for money. Always busy at teatime! Which is a good sign. Does not open at lunchtimes.

Rang an order through, was ready on time and everything was right with it. Food was hot and we got given free salt n pepper chicken wings which were really good.

Ordered a take away at 6.40 pm and told 10/15 minutes . Arrived at 7.05pm and gave order number in. Still no food at 7.25 pm when lady queried order , she hurried away and came out of basement with box of frozen king prawns, order ready 6 minutes later. She then said it was girl behind counter fault as she had not said my order number. The young girl asked my number when I arrived and went behind to tell. It is obvious they give you a number but don't start cooking until you arrive to collect. Very disappointed

Busy little place but don't let this put you off.Telephoned my banquet for two order and arrive to collect. Short wait to collect and the food itself was delicious.Soup, prawn crackers, combination starter, 2 mains, 2 fried rice and 2 cans of Fanta for less than £20.There was plenty of food and would highly recommend this to all.

Friendly and superb good. This has it all. It is worth visiting Blackburn for a portion of chips alone from this excellent Chippy.

OMG! Gluten free frying on the first Saturday of every month! The chippy are accredited by Coeliac UK for their frying conditions and the food is AMAZING. I had battered sausage, chips and peas, with loads of gluten free vinegar, and I was so happy that I could have expired from pure pleasure. They also sell bottles of gluten free vinegar, so now I have one for at home.You will queue for quite a while for your food, because everything is done to order, and gluten free night is very popular, but this just shows what a good chippy it is. They even gave me a free big bottle of Tizer on my birthday!

This is the only chip shop we go to. Pleasant staff, very generous portion sizes and well priced. The food is great!

Superb fish and chips- possibly the best in Blackburn. Good staff are very efficient - the place is always busy. The owner is often frying the fish and chips himself and he is proud of his reputation for quality

I crave the chippy when I go home. Cheese and onion pie, chips and curry sauce. Didn't disappoint. You can't get that in London

There are so many dishes to choose from. I have tasted the Chinese dishes as well as the English Fish n Chips-both lush!

Quick friendly service happy to please reasonable prices. All my family loved the food plenty of choice on the menu too

What can I say chips generous portions and not bitty, fish nice crispy batter and meaty fish. Curry sauce and peas are also a real treat. All in all a real treat pay them a visit you will not be dissapointed.

As ever - awesome chips and fish. Felt it time I actually said it. I've eaten here for year and they deserve the credit.

Handy for those times when it's too late or you just can't be bothered. Mix of traditional chipp and Chinese takeaway huge portions of chips although I would prefer a smaller portion of good chips. Ok but not great
