Food was a little disappointing,to be fair I could have eaten 2 of what I ordered,but it's every time I've been to eat there

Stayed 2 nights in the Premier Inn next door. Booked into the restaurant both mornings for breakfast at 7am as our daughter was in a local dance championship, so we had to be up early and eaten to get to the champ. Both mornings the restaurant wasn't set up and the second morning the chef couldn't even be bothered to turn up. This is appalling service when they say the 1st booking for breakfast is 7am. We tried to wait but at 7.40 had to leave with no cooked breakfast. This comp happens every year at the Blackburn Empire theatre and I don't think we will use this hotel and restaurant again. Even the photographer who was staying in the hotel had to go without any breakfast.

Food good one day went a few. day's later and was abit of a let down.so it's hit and miss

Food was good considering its mass purchased, you couldn’t expect better really to be honest. So that was good. People seemed enthusiastic towards the children. Sadly this is where the goodness ends. Placed order and payed, had not decided at time of ordering if we wanted a sweet after. Other in party did. Turns out that we did want to have one. Told kitchen was closed. If it were closed then how could the 4 persons in our party then have their pudding made up? No where did it indicate that they closed the kitchens at a particular time. Nor were we advised. This is pretty poor on the part of the restaurant. I guess we now need to ask from now on if they close kitchens at a particular time.

Lovely food and took care of my gluten allergy.

Super service. Lady’s are always super nice and helpful. My little boy was super happy and they were super accommodating to my friend who has an allergy

Toilets dont lock no loo roll everything out of order bloody disgrace to say you charge so much for food and drink tje place needs some serious repair

Popped in here for an unplanned meal on Friday. Was busy due to Rovers first game of the season but service as always was first class - especially the legend Fred. Great drinks and superb food and even though it was busy didn’t have to wait long at all.

Always a great place to visit, especially when you get a waiter like Fred! He is such an accommodating, friendly, funny and unforgettable staff member, who always wants to do the very best for you! Nothing is too much trouble! Great food, great service and great place for a last minute tea out! Get the lasagne!

I had started to avoid this place as the food went down hill. Tried it again today and there has been a massive improvement in the food. Staff have always been lovely, helpful and welcoming. We will be back again now.

We have today been for the unlimited breakfast as our closest brewers Fayre has now closed. Very impressed with Oakenhurst Farm as a restaurant. Really bright and well spaced tables. The breakfast selection was very good and the cooked foods were great. We are a 5 (2 adults and 3 children) so value for money on the breakfast cannot be beaten as the children eat for free. The staff were friendly and helpful. Well recommend highly and will be returning again as this will be our go to place for eating out breakfasts

Really good place to take children as the self contained play area is pretty good. The food was decent and the staff were lovely. Worth a visit. Recommend the trio of pies! 11/07/24: Return visit and have to say that I really enjoyed it. The food is decent but the staff today were amazing. It's a fantastic place to visit if you have kids and need a distraction.

Good inexpensive food, nice staff and service.

This used to be a nice place however the prices have gone up whilst the food and service quality has gone way down. Once our meals arrived, some of the food was overcooked and the ingredients were lacking. What was supposed to bacon looked like burnt sinew. We were asked if we needed condiments which only arrived after asking a second time and by then 2 out of 4 diners had finished. To top it off, my 5 year old was missing part of her meal which after informing staff never arrived. Very disappointing and it will a long time before I return.

Trish is amazing we have a disabled daughter and she always has a table ready some where quiet for us and we all love her to bits

As a family we come here for breakfast every week. Trish is usually our waitress and always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We always bring my 9 month old grandson and Trish is always making sure he gets to try anything he wants and never has complained about the mess he makes eating. Emma the chef is also fantastic and caters to individual needs of our booking and always cooks our breakfast perfectly 👌 would definitely recommend for anyone to come here 😀

Good pub to go to before the football. Friendly staff. Kids played footy outside so loved it. Only 20mins walk to the ground. Nice mix of home and away fans.

went for dinner today first visit and had the mixed grill steak was cooked to perfection’ special thanks to trisha who even did desserts to the table after the meal. i was informed my chef was called emma. all i can say is thank you for making a regular customer out of me and the wife

Jodie, in the play room is amazing. She is so good with the children. She has a lovely, kind & caring vibe about her which the children obviously pick up. Highly impressed with her interaction with the children and how positive and welcoming to patrons she is. Very polite and professional too.

Took family/grandchildren to this restaurant and was so impressed with the play area for the kids, staff who were absolutely so friendly and helpful and the food which was far better than I expected. The steak was as good and cooked to my liking medium rare.. Well done, couldn't find fault. Would DEFINITELY visit again when in the area.

The food and staff was lovely!... We've been twice to this particular venue, once for breakfast which was brilliant as there is lots of choice, Highly recommend the fish pie for an evening meal. Great prices too will definitely return in the near future

Waited 50 minutes for main course. The food was basic. Gave up waiting for the dessert I paid for as it was still not served an hour after my main. Lone diner so not multiple orders to manage.

Waited nearly an hour, the mixed grill was burnt, sausages black, asked for medium steak it looked to have been cremated. Smothered chicken was very average and for what we paid definitely not worth the money, combine that with screaming kids running about whilst trying to eat and have a conversation it was rubbish!

First time stopping for food and pints was greeted by Lucy who was brilliant good bita craic which is always nice. Food was nice hot and quick aswell as the serve overall very happy will be back again

The creamy chicken pie was bloody gorgeous and I would defo recommend it 😊,everyone else also enjoyed there food.. The only thing that grated us at our table was a member of staff called LUCY!!! She was going from table to table and asking them to do a review for her telling them to say she was fantastic this that and the other so she could win some chocolate!!! I even heard one lady at her table say after she harassed them at there table, I quote - so she wants us to tell lies for her lol I mentioned it to the manager but she wasn't too bothered saying that she is a bit of a Firecracker she knows all the customers!!! Asking them to leave a review about her and telling them to say i quote - that she is amazing so she can win some chocolates is abit much!! Food was really good, all the staff really nice,lucy was nice apart from being a highly strung Firecracker 🧨 🤣 Chairs and tables could do with an overhaul as welll as they all looked really tired Other than that spot on food...

All the staff at Oakenhurst Farm are lovely, very welcoming & never sit down. Trish runs a tight-ship as manager which results in an organised restaurant. The only thing which let's all Brewers Fayre down is the food choice but is ideal for a quick bite after work or easy meal at weekends. Great atmosphere, fantastic staff xx

We had 2 nights in the premier inn next door, we had the cooked breakfast as it was early it was plated but then after 8 it went to help yourself,all meals were lovely, staff were great, although we arrived at 9pm friday and the last rounds were 9.45.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. This place is so family friendly, the staff are all amazing and it's so nice to see how well they work as a team and they all get on so well. The kids love coming here, the food is always delicious and fresh. We have recommended it to lots of people. Thank you for making my mother's day so special x

Absolutely awful experience here today. Visited with 4 children 5 adults. 2 of the childrens meals came out instantly (main before their starters) the other 2 children had to wait. 2 adults where having a carvery so as we all wanted to eat together they waited until the other food arrived. 40 minutes waiting someone then came over to tell us the receipt machine hadnt been printing properly and they wanted to confirm what sides the other 2 children wanted. We confirmed, they then brought the food out 15 minutes later. The food was awful, service even worse. I asked for a manager waited 5 minutes then had to ask again! Surely if someone is requesting a manager it shouldn't need to be asked for twice. A friend did have a birthday party booked here for a few months time and requested to cancel this due to the lack of service.

Made a booking for a table online as we were meeting family halfway and both travelling over an hour. Recieved email of cancellation 10 mins before but hadn’t seen it. Walked in to be told our booking was cancelled because they were full. Whole pub was empty. Woman very rude. If there was a big booking, why not say that? If kitchen closed, say that! Shocking!

Everything about this Brewers Fayre is great, though especially the food and the service. Had the Smothered Platter, which includes a 4oz steak (upgradeable to 8oz, which I did), chicken goujons with cheese, a gammon steak with pineapple slice, chips, coleslaw, a fried egg and onion rings. All the food was outstanding, particularly the steak which was genuinely the best piece I've ever had. Chips and onion rings plentiful and done perfectly. I'd recommend this! We were served by Patricia who is always great and friendly. You always get a good impression, that customers' experience is the top priority, and it's always been quick too. Just overall an excellent experience.

Ordered starter and drinks. Share platter was on the burnt side of crispy. No side plates provided. Waited 40 mins for main courses to arrive - Both were cold side of tepid. Fish and chips with unwanted burnt black batter scraps hidden under fish/ fajita chicken burger with extras that didn't arrive. Waitress was apologetic and took them back. Unfortunately, after waiting for another 25 mins, the replacement meals were poor quality and practically inedible. Waitress offered us free desert as apology but we weren't waiting around for more of the same standard of food so we declined. Worst £21 each we have ever spent. McDonald's and McFlurry here we come. We won't be back!

Never in all my times I’ve been to Oakenhurst have I been given inedible food not once but two times today. Had the Sharing Platter for Starters which arrived looking on the wrong side of burnt!! but we could see they were busy so ate what we could and then waited nearly 40 minutes for our Mains - Fish & Chips and Chicken Fajita- both arrived lukewarm, not even tepid but merely lukewarm and was awful, spoke to the staff member and she arranged for them to be replaced, another 20 minutes waiting until food arrived only to find that the Fish was totally inedible- just brown mush in batter, staff member asked if everything was ok and showed her the Fish only to be told “oh some people don’t like skin”! I nearly fell off my chair - skin is usually on the bottom of a fillet, not all of it! She was very apologetic but we just wanted to leave - £42.00 literally down the drain, most expensive Chips & peas I’ve ever had!! It was literally awful and I’ve been going for Years but never had such a problem with the food before and won’t be suffering it again - shameful and someone needs to have a word with the Chef!!

Called in for dinner with the parents. Arrived it was packed but the atmosphere was amazing. Lucy saw us to our table and served us throughout the dinner and her customer service was 100% on the nail. Has mixed grill steak was spot on and all good nice and hot. I can see why my folks like going there so much. Really hope Lucy gets the praise she rightfully deserves. Thank you.

Went with friends for breakfast, food was lovely, hot and you can eat as much as you want, the toaster is a bit slow but other than that it was good, very friendly staff.

This brewers fayre is in need of an update. Only 40%of ladies facilities working. 2 of 4 on hotel side permanently locked, one without a seat, and one which didn't lock. On the other side, one lock didn't work, one usable. Obviously busy as we visited Sunday lunchtime, but food, to be honest, below average. We ate carvery - parsnips a mix of undercooked to ok, roast potatoes barely looked roasted. Sprouts either overcooked or held too long, meat tough, lacked flavour. Crockery left on tables long after being finished. Disappointed to be writing this, this used to be a nice venue for family to meet up. Current opinion dictates not to bother!!

Just had food today although the food was ok the portion size was very poor I paid nearly £12 for stake and ale pie the chips was like what you would get for a children's portion and the peas were no better I have had the two for one meals in the past and thought it good value but at £12 for the one meal it was a disappointment 12 chips and some peas to had some colour

So I went for breakfast with a friend and I was surprised to see how busy it was. The food was self-service buffet style, not too much waiting around but I have to be honest I prefer table service. That being said, the food was good and hot, not an amazing choice but certainly enough. The staff were all friendly and very busy, but still had time for you. Would I go again, probably!

Me and my girl had a lovely lunch together. Was made to feel safe and welcomed . We had a lovely spot where we could set up camp and wait for our friends . Staff are friendly and polite and accommodating. Food is box standard grub . Tasty and cooked at a good standard. Very clean inside. Lovely atmosphere for families with very little ones (babies). Thank you once again . We will be visiting again 😊.

Regularly come for the breakfast which is brilliant. Can be quite busy sometimes but the staff are always really attentive. Toilets need some TLC especially in the bar area. Other than that it's a nice cheap place for food and drink.

Just had a terrific meal here. Got to be honest, I wasn't expecting the quality meal I've just eaten. Absolutely humbled by it. Had the mixed grill and everything on the plate was good quality, really well cooked and piping hot. Staff were all really friendly and approachable, and there was a lovely atmosphere. Initially booked a table for a birthday. Arrived to absolute carnage and zero organisation. Cutlery was dirty and had old food all over it. Decided to go order some food after being seated and was then told it was a ONE HOUR wait after booking a table. They didn’t care that half the group had food but the other group had to wait ONE HOUR after booking a table. If you want a family meal this is 100% not the place to go. Not one bit of customer service.

Great service lacking in vegetarian options so was difficult to find a difrrebt meal over the 2 day stay. Staff were great and seemed to be pleasant good experience all im all just the limited menu let them down
