Now called sues orientalist Kitchen. Friendly staff and accommodated my request to have a pho style noodle dish with prawns and veg. Was offered few stale crackers whilst I waited. Prawns were good size but shells left on so difficult to take shells off as was so hot in soup. Also not deveined so could not eat them. Noodles weren’t the best. Flavour was adequate with fresh veg but the fresh sliced chilli was clearly not fresh. Despite being lunch time had a table of 4 who clearly were regulars and another couple also who clearly knew the owner. Was not offered a drink however equally I did not ask. £7.99 for quite good portion but sadly couldn’t eat it. Shame as the owner was really lovely .

Came here with 2 young kids after a cinema visit. The staff allowed them to have small tasters of the various food before choosing which they liked. My daughter didn’t like the sauces so they gave her some of the Katsu chicken in a small dish for free. We took our food over and my son having tried mine decided he liked it more than his. The food was great and the staff were really happy to help us out with the food and sauce selections. So if you haven’t been to this type of place before and aren’t sure what you might like then go here as they will guide you.

I would not go anywhere else. The delivery team are wonderful -kind, courteous and they do their best with the timings. The place is clearly busy as it can take 45 minutes for a delivery but the food is always hot, lovingly prepared and delicious! I look forward to a monthly take out so I can treat myself to a yummy from Yummy lol

Mediocre food that they managed to get wrong. Even after ringing up to say something wasn't sent they wouldn't send out another which is pretty poor and meant my wife had barely anything to eat. Not that it matters, most of it went in the bin anyway as it was fairly bland and quite dry.

I dined at Toba for dinner and left disappointed with my experience at the restaurant. We ordered the Gulai Kambing (Lamb Shank Curry) and Beef Rendang as our mains - I found both mains lacked flavour and were somewhat tasteless. However, the worst part of dining at Toba was that I found a fish bone in my Lamb Shank Curry, and not just any fish bone, but a rather long and sharp fish bone! I politely asked the manager/host to take a look and questioned why there was a fish bone in the broth of the curry, only for him to take the fish bone and insist it was only a dry piece of noodle. I found his response to be a lie, and unacceptable - to be honest it was very poor of him to insist it was a dry piece of noodle, and dismiss me! I am well aware of the difference between a fish bone and a noodle. I did not wish to create a scene, as I was being mindful of my friend I was dining with, the guests within the restaurant and also the restaurant itself. However, now I think of my experience at Toba, I honestly should have. I was not offered an apology or any reassurance. I will not be dining at Toba again, nor will I recommend it to my family and friends

First visit Mutton rolls. Fish cutlets. Seeni sambal Coconut sambal wattilapung. All Just perfect. We travelled up from Horsham inwest sussex a long queue of sri lankans outside shop gave us a clear indication that this was a popular place for Ceylon food (Sri Lankan) I'm old school and upon entering the premises was greeted with the amazing smells that I grew up with in 1960s Ceylon. All the dishes from my childhood. OMG ! I WAS IN HEAVEN..now a firm favourite on my shopping list. Brilliant, my English wife just loved the many dishes on display and the smiling friendly faces of the staff.. Thank you

We were in london unannounced and looking for a place to eat. I remember topjaw reviewing this and the noodles that everyone was raving about. I can only assume it’s changed ownership or given up! Firstly we were shown up a small staircase to a dirty looking room. The staff all sat around eating off one table whilst the others remain dirty, uncleared and with strange stains. One poor lad with limited English was running around the three tables taking orders from 3 different menus, rushing off mid sentence and returning later. When the food did arrive, it was inevitably wrong and quite nasty. All three tables got some fried rice dish. The rice was old, it was full of some kind of over cooked pork and was super spicy. We also all got some weird fried dumpling that was swimming in oil and had pork again in the middle. None of the tables had ordered anything of the like, and it quickly descended into farce. The poor lad didn’t know who had ordered what and from where, so in the end just gave up and said “pay what you want”. We felt sorry and paid for the items he had brought. At no stage did any of the other staff offer to help him, just sat there on their phones eating skewers and dropping the sticks on the floor. I can’t say anything positive I’m afraid. It didn’t look clean, service was awful and the food inedible.

don't bother with the android app, it doesn't work, after 2 attempts taking 10 mins to complete my order for 6 people it crashed at the payment page, I called them and unbelievable attitude and unhelpful, can you believe you can't order over the phone, anyway, I tried 1 last time via there Web site to be told 5.45pm collect, it was finally ready at 6.30pm, 1.5hrs after ordering, I called again and got the same attitude "do you want your order or not" I was asked 🤷♂️ I should have cancelled as finding this dump is as difficult as ordering and then surprise surprise the food was dreadful, never never again, its been the most stressful take away I've ever ordered and possibly the worst.

One of the most authentic Thai takeaway in Newcastle and our go to on take away nights. We never mind waiting longer than usual as food is always spot on but tonight was such a disappointment. Ordered the usual king prawn fried rice, thai fish cakes, peanut sauce and spicy prawn crackers. King prawn fried rice usually my favourite but it was so spicy I could not eat it, such a huge disappointment, especially when this is normally a superb dish. Prawn crackers were also unfortunately stale. Not sure if there's been a change in ownership or chef but PLEASE BRING BACK THE THAI CHANG WE KNOW! - last order prawn crackers were also stale however they replaced them. Staff are always kind and apologetic fr long wait abd always send a box of chocolates but this time no apology could make up fr the bad food. We've lived over the world and in the small area of North Tyneside we found this amazing authentic Thai - so upset it seems to have gone downhill!
