Desi Traditional Balti and Pizza House in Peterborough

As me and my friends prefer the desi food so we decided to go here, we ordered mutter paneer , the taste was very good. All of my friends enjoyed the dinner night.

Had delivery. Took 90 mins and when I called, they said they'd had a rush and our pizzas would be another 5 mins in the oven before being s3nt to us. The dips had exploded all over the pizzas, which the kids hated. Just think they should have let us know it was going to take so long. I'm sure we ordered before some of the other orders they got, but we were left til last. Its not acceptable. Won't be ordering again.

I rang to order my food at first the guy kept talking to other people around him got my order wrong three times and then turned around and said to me I am getting very frustrated and cut the phone on me!!!, very very disappointed! Will not be using this restaurant again!

The food is very nice but their portions on takeaways have got too small. My main size mutter paneer was more like a side size. Reluctantly we will be going elsewhere in future.

Dissatisfied and rude customer service Avoid ordering from this place as customer service is not understood sadly.

Had lunch here with my partner from Switzerland, menu super simple and so food super fresh and tasty. Service excellent. Place and decor simple and uncomplicated. If you are a foodie then this is a hidden gem in Peterborough. I highly recommend a Desi experience.

Met up with some old friends for an evening meal & they suggested Desi's as it was their regular haunt, vaguely knew of it but not somewhere I'd been before. Bright & basic set up with seating downstairs for around 30/40, I grabbed a menu but my mates suggested something called Tawar ? to share so I just went with the flow. The young guy that took our order was well friendly & there was enough food for him to have joined us, this Tawar arrived on a huge platter & was made up of Lamb & Chicken curries on the base with Byriani inbetween, above that was kofte kebabs, keema & plain naan's, spicey fries & pizza slices & was for 4 to share although there was so much we ended up taking some home with us. No alcohol is served but that's no issue for me, the soft drinks were enough to calm the heat of the curry. Got no idea what the end price was as one of my mates got up & paid for everything on the sly but I'd definitely go again, quality of the food was excellent & the service on par too.

My oh my! So I turned up not expecting anything particularly great, boy was I in for a surprise 😋 The restaurant itself was pretty 'normal' in terms of setting, decor etc. I took a good look at the menu and decided that I'd go for the 'balti meat' slightly saucy and hot. The waiter was polite and ensured me that the balti would be cooked just the way I requested. The time it took I'd say was about 20 minutes which isn't quick by stretch of the imagination, but I'd rather wait for a good balti than a rushed one that tasted terrible. In the mean time I was served condiments in the form of 3 different chutneys to go with salad. Very nice and not the type of chutneys I've had elsewhere. Well, as the food arrived I immediately dug in and it tasted FANTASTIC!! The spice was just right, the taste delicious, the meat nice and tender! mmmm 😋 I'm feeling hungry just writing this review!! I've been all over the country and I have to say this has go to be EASILY ONE OF THE BEST!! Can't wait to go back! 😋😋🤪🤪😝

The hot spicy pizza had too much green chilie which were not ediable and nothing else on there. I wont be ordering that again

Went there with the family and orderd the Tawa.. Masala chips and Masala fish. All was fantastic.. except the masala fish wasnt Cod as stated in the menu, it was pangus which us a lot cheaper but still amazing. They also do desserts and milk shakes which is great because we can have everything in one place.

Ordered 2 pizza and chips however took an hour and a half to be delivered therefore came cold. If you ever want pizza and chips just get them out of your freezer much better and quicker

Ordered food at 7.30pm did get my food till 9.20pm which is just out of order. Food was cold. Need to sort there service

The food was deliverd late. The fish masala was so dry. It was ment yo be cod and tasted nothing like it. The accual fish was chewy. Donner was cut really thick and didnt even look cooked. The nuggets and chips for the kids were really cold and dry Sorry for the bad review but no one finished the food. Just tasted everything and left it there.

From starters to a lamb balti main washed down with a mango lassi was incredible. The mixed grill served on a sizzling hot plate was mouth watering. All the ingredients were so fresh and tasty. If your a food lover you MUST without doubt eat here and the lamb shops My compliments to the chef.I will be attending here regularly from here on end.

Worst pizza ive ever had... base under cooked. I ordered a cheese and tomato pizza.... it had loads of chilli in the sauce! I was so hungry I attempted to eat it managed 2 slices as my mouth was on fire from the chilli. As its late i didnt bother calling to have to wait another 40 mins for the correct order to be redelivered. And my coke was frozen like a slush which ment it was flat .. 🙄😢

The pizza had a awful peppery taste like the pepper pot that been dropped into it and the pizza dough was so thick, the driver also charged extra than the just eat order details as he charged me for some tubs of chilli sauce which in most takeaways come free..

It was late 20min but pizza was still good thankyou

Food arrived over 40 mins late but it was really worth the wait. food was very tasty, high standard and packaged well. I will reorder again but hoping the next delivery is on time.

AVOID at all costs. Mc Donald’s is a safer option. This place was the worst food in the whole of Peterborough area. The wraps were swimming in chilli sauce, tried to contact the restaurant but constantly no answer. Very poor quality of food

The nan sandwich was good, everything was put into the nan sandwich as written in the note and the chocolate fudge cake was nice too and the drinks were sent to as some takeaways forget, will order again in the future. 👍😎

When called them food is late told computer issue, the delivery driver says no staff, left a note for sauces on food totally ignored again not first time this has happened

Don’t bother the chicken tikka starter was undercooked and disgusting the drinks were all wrong and took them an hour to redeliver after complaining to just eat. Yes the initial order arrived quick the chips were like warm but the naan bread was good. Not impressed as again the drinks order was incorrect AGAIN!!! I have lost all faith in this place I will not be ordering again and I disgust if you want a sub standard rubbish meal order here

This is the worst service i have ever received. Not only was the delivery 45 mins from the time they set but the food was cold and they didnt answer the phone for 45minutes either. When i finally got through to the owner he apologised and advised they were short staffed and as a gesture offered for our next order to be free of charge. He advised i could call and ask for him or place an order with anyone who answers and he would inform all the staff it would be on the house. So i gave them a benefit of doubt and let it slide. I decided to take him up on his offer last week and guess what... no one knows about the situation and he never returns my calls despite promises from the co-owner and i have called a few times with the same result.... its such a shame as the food is actually decent when its hot and on time! I would never recommend this place or go there again. Customer service doesn't exist in this restaurant!

very dry. very late. £15 chicken was not worth it, just three tubs of bone with a small bit of chicken.

The food is really great. Tastes amazing. However, only downside is that the delivery was late but they apologised and the food was actually still hot. Will order again as long as food arrives on time. overall, great food!

The food was great but i was not happy with the prices. The pizzas were 2 for £10 but i was charged full price. When my son collected the guy at the till pointed it out but still charged him the full ptice.

Seriously, showing as delivered at promised time. Called restaurant twice and assured it was on the way. Ordered at 21:30 and finally arrived at 23:10. Food tasty however lukewarm.

Ok so did ask for all the sourses didnt get them chips soggy and the paranthi was burnt and didnt have keema on it all all normally food is spot on dont know what happened today..

Delivery time changed from 21.10 to 21.20. Actually arrived when I got through to calling restaurant at 22.20. I know there was poor driving conditions but he said this and said the driver left half an hour prior ( half an hour after due delivery time ) driver turned up so guy hung up. Why was I not notified food was half an hour late leaving. Chips terrible, rest of food good

Normally Desi is a great place to order from. We have had great pizza from them in the past. However, tonight it was unfortunately disappointing. It wasn’t up to their usual standards. It arrived cold, there were hardly any toppings or cheese, and half the pizza was burnt. It was a shame as we have ordered multiple times before and it has always been great.. tonight has really changed our minds on ordering with them again.

Ive been hear only once before- always hear good things about this place and they do serve good quality food. Can become over crowded at times. But is clean, welcoming and a good place to dine at.

Superb meal tonight - Had no clue what I was ordering main dish wise, but it was a great cheese and pea dish. Kulfi was wonderful in mint flavour. You're spoiling me, Aqeel, thank you :)

Good food delivered fast, friendly and polite!

Dessert was missing so driver returned with it. Vegetarian main meal was the size of a side dish and lukewarm. Not the usual standard

The restaurant added 30 minutes I too if the normal delivery time so we expected bang on time. Instead it come late..... so instead of piping hot pizzas and chips we had merely warm pizzas and cold chips which looked like they had been reheated. One of the pizzas had the sauces in the box the other had none. When asked reason for the extra lateness, the reply was they were busy- asked if the food is stil hot and not cold and the answer was yes but he was soo Wrong!!!

Food arrived a bit later than stated and slightly on the cold side. Other than that it was good enough to go down

The pizzas were one of the best I had in a while. Well balanced toppings and flavours. The customer service could be more polite. Offered good evening to recipient over the phone with no response and end of conversation just slammed phone down. Well I suppose it is Desi service.

The food was ok, but the delivery was poor. The advertised time was increased by 25 minutes, then they were 15 minutes late after that

Great food. Fast delivery. loose points on service as didn’t read the note I added asking to ring or text and ended up waking one of my housemates. Other than that spot on.
