Do you know what, we were gutted! Zak’s has always been a treat for us and this time 7 of us went Saturday night. Starters were awesome! But then we waited 1 hr 20 mins for mains and none of us were then hungry and we wasted most of it. My wife’s halloumi salad was tiny. Like tiny and for £10 we extracted more. My onion rings were a grease explosion is my mouth so left them. My poor father got the ribs and larged it up and left most of it because we waited so so long for our mains. Wasn’t great and that’s was sad. Paid a lot of money for an under average meal .

Having been here for breakfast many times, today was the last visit for us. The prices have gone up, the quality way down and to pay £54 for breakfast (2 adults 2 children) is absolutely crazy. Only one of us had the full American (£14) and the rest small breakfasts. They used to all come with refillable tea/coffee. These are now £2 and the breakfasts have gone up to £8 for a very small portion. I know these guys have to cover costs somewhere but when you can’t even cook a hash brown right (cold and hard in the middle) you’ve lost a customer.

We had a great experience at Yankee Traveller. The decor is cool and quirky and the staff so friendly and approachable. Definitely worth a visit away from the sea front and the over priced standard seaside food. If we lived in Great Yarmouth we would be regulars. Amazing selection of food and very reasonably priced.

Upon arrival, my partner and I were met with unexpected hostility. The demeanor of the older gentleman was nothing short of absurd. We walked in and politely asked for a table for two. Despite plenty of empty tables around, we were met with a blunt and raised "No," delivered in a tone that felt more like scolding a child than addressing customers. Taken aback, we stood there as he curtly added, "Only space is outside," in an equally dismissive manner. Feeling unwelcome but driven by a lack of other choices in the area we opted to sit outside. However, the unpleasant interaction left us feeling disgusted and unwelcome. When my partner went inside to order and asked why we had been refused a table indoors, a much kinder lady explained they were fully booked. Had this been communicated to us politely from the start, we wouldn’t have questioned it at all. It’s truly a shame that such a man, whose behavior reflects a total disregard for respectful communication towards customers, tarnished our experience from the outset. All other staff members were lovely, and the food itself was excellent—but the initial encounter was nothing short of poor service.

Good food at a reasonable price. Kids ate for free which is always a bonus. Last time we went just two of us, had loads on my plate, this time I had two grandchildren with me and they ate for free which coincidence or not seem to impact the amount of food I got as no where as much last time. Cut backs? Who knows. They forgot to put one order through so one of us was sitting and watching the rest of us eat, which wasn't great as we would have liked to eat together.

Always a great time in the George friendly staff and always have a great line up of live music at the weekends. Highly recommend. Great to see the new management doing great things.

We had fillet steak , no prices on the menu and when ordered they didn’t tell us the price either ! We all ordered sides of chips and mushrooms which they charge as an additional price . They didn’t mention we could have shared the sides between two so there was a lot left and for four of us it cost £380 which with 3 bottles of wine , felt was very pricey . Not sure if I would return as far too expensive for what you get.

Average review based on many visits - on a good day it’s a favourite of ours, particular the candied bacon burger. But last night was really poor. The chips tasted like burnt oil and were a grey/dark yellow colour. The wings were soggy and gross and the burger was really average. Hopefully just a bad day at the office.
