Netherton Steakhouse in South Norfolk

We recently enjoyed a Saturday evening family meal at Netherton Steakhouse. The waiting staff were very welcoming. The food was excellent and we had various burgers, steak and macaroni cheese. All cooked beautifully and generous portions. We were sat next to the bar area and the staff constantly apologised for the noise, but this really didn't bother us and we didn't complain but even so we were given a couple of complimentary drinks - very nice touch - thank you. Look forward to revisiting in the summer when we can sit in the lovely garden area.

Our second visit to Netherton Steakhouse. I had the pulled lamb suet pudding snd my wife a burger.For dessert I had Jam Rolly Polly and custard and my wife chocate delice.All washed down with a couple of drinks. The service was excellent and the food even better.....and all very reasonably priced. We will return Check it out for yourselves you wont come away disappointed.

We live in the village and use the pub a fair bit and the food a service is amazing we have a very lively 3 year old and find if we go to certain pubs and get looks as he likes to run around trying to contain him is very hard as he has ADHD the staff are great with him and never made us feel uncomfortable it’s a lovely pub and highly recommended Jay & Ellie and crazy Joshua

We had the most amazing Valentines meal last night with you. The menu was perfect and I can’t honestly remember the last time I had such a beautiful meal, it was perfect. The Tomahawk steak was off the scale beautiful and that sauce, you can tell a lot of love went into making that it was sublime. The staff were so welcoming and very attentive, friendly and nothing was too much bother. I’ve not been here before but I was definitely be returning, an absolute gem of a steakhouse.

Seated in the draughty window with a young man sat on the windowsill waiting for his bus, asked to move to slightly warmer/private seat and was moved with a comment about being us being ‘nesh’, staff member (older lady) was not rude but not welcoming and seems uninterested as more wanting to get back to bar area with workmen. The food however was fantastic, well presented and portion size was good.

Amazing breakfast, couldn't fault that all very lush . But the restaurant was cold & the staff even colder !! Customer service needs attention .

Unpretentious, cozy, very friendly service and good food. My partner ha steak which was pretty good, hand-cut chips excellent. I had the cod and chorizo which was beyond expectations. We both had French Onion soup to start - best I've ever had. Will definitely go there again.

Shared the Tomahawk steak- amazing best steak ever, taste wonderful, thank you Swannington farms, cooked spot on, thank you chef, staff excellent all round. Oh and the Ginger cake for sweet light and tasty.

A warm welcome, by friendly attentive staff. We had a variety of the burgers available, and the steak and ribs. The food arrived promptly, and was prepared to the highest standard. The ribs were divine, and the meat came away easily leaving clean bones. Homemade skin on chips were beautifully cooked and tasty, and portion sizes were good. I would rate the whole experience excellent, and good value for money.

I don’t usually write reviews but wanted to give some regonition to the team at Netherton House we had a fabulous lunch (we were a family party of 10 adults) the waitresses/bar staff were very attentive they couldn’t do enough for us. The food was cooked to perfection we couldn’t fault a thing. I’ve eaten here many times before but this was the best meal I’ve had in ages, can’t wait to return.

With a 20% discount on food on Thursdays, the meals are excellent value as well as being very tasty! The quantities are enormous, starters and mains (we never got to desserts) and they are very happy to box up what is left to take away.

Whether it's just a drink, take out or dining in, Netherton Steakhouse never fails to impress us. We have dined here on numerous occasions and always had a great experience. The food is second to none and in particular, their new street food menu has something to offer for everyone! The staff are always welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. We are so lucky to have somewhere like this on our doorstep. Would highly recommend.

Went with 2 friends on a Thursday didn't realise it was steak night when i booked. We all ordered the Sirloin.When it came out very impressed, good portion sizes and the steak looked and smelt really good, but the plate was full of blood we had asked for the steaks to be good medium which is how we always have them, The steak had obviously not been rested as there would not have been a sauce of blood,Then we started to try and eat them!! They were all very tough and chewy,we did complain to the waitress who spoke to the manager and was told it was because of the cut that we had chosen.We left the steaks and finished eating the chips, when the other waitress cleared the table she notice the steaks had not been hardly touched and we told her about the chewy steaks and blood all on the plate,She reported back to the manager again,The manager is one of the most arrogant men i have ever had the misfortune to meet, I was told that it was chewy because it was Sirloin, NO APOLOGY, he said he had tried a piece of all the steak sent back and it was fine, I was spoken to like i didnt know what i was talking about, He took the price of 1 of the steaks off the bill because he said 1 had almost been eaten and another one had not been eaten enough to get to the good part of the steak,AVOID THIS PLACE, or if you go don't expect any customer service at all.The waitresses were lovely and i feel sorry for them working for him.

As soon as we walked into the Netherton we were a little disappointed. It was like being in a sports bar with a giant TV Screen above our table. The staff were pleasant and took our orders swiftly. We ordered a Sunday roast. It arrived on an almost totally flat plate with a dribble of gravy. The veg, creamed leeks and mixed vegetables (70% leeks)came served in separate dishes. A jug of gravy followed. Two of our party doesnt like leeks so we had to make do with the small amount of veg that were with the leeks. My husband had the creamed leeks and was shocked at the amount of grit in them, they obviously hadnt been washed properly. We all poured the gravy on our meals and flooded the table as the plates had no lip on them. All in all a disappointing meal. On the plus side, the desserts were nice. We mentioned to the barman, when paying our bill, about the unwashed veg and he gave us a generous discount, despite this, we wont be going back. Shame, its a lovely building and has great potential.

The food was lovely but was disappointed as came for a nice meal but the people in the pub side were loud and rude a man on phone using the f word was very loud and people singing spoiled the atmosphere. I had family visit at short notice on a Sunday and we decided to dine out. Living not far from this restaurant I phoned to see if they could accommodate us which they could. I had never been there before and we were all delighted with the choice of food and the value for money. The staff were very friendly. I was surprised to see they had sky sports tv showing which didn't bother me but it may not be everyone's choice even though the volume was down. At the rear of the restaurant was a pleasant large beer garden with children's area which would be another plus for families in the summer. I will definitely go there again.

We and another couple visited in January, the ambiance was nice and the service efficient. Food came and was delicious, I don't usually do steak, but I'm a convert now. The restaurant was busy and got a little noisy as the evening went on.All in all a very good place.

We had a great night at this lovely restaurant we had pre ordered our Christmas meals we were given a warm welcome our waitresses were very efficient, friendly & nothing was too much trouble for them despite being very busy Our food & drinks were soon served we had a four course Christmas dinner which was superb portions were very generous we couldn’t eat it all it was well cooked and very well presented fine dining style without the huge price We were given an option to have a break between each course we couldn’t eat our mince pies so they were packed for us to take home amazing service at an amazing price We had Christmas crackers and the restaurant was beautifully decorated I can highly recommend this lovely restaurant it was my first visit but definitely not my last Be aware that part of the restaurant is upstairs so if you have a mobility problem you will need to ask to be seated down stairs when you book

Simply, it was the most amazing, delightful and enjoyable experience. It was our annual Christmas get-together dinner with friends which was superb in every way. The food was absolutely delicious, the presentation was excellent and professional while quantity and service was second to none.

We booked for the t bone steak night (thursday) we duly had the steak which was very good but we were disappointed after we'd finished the meal that after waiting 40 min no one had come to take away our dishes and take a desert order ,despite the next table being served both starters and main course and drinks whilst we were left waiting..paid the bill, complain and left never to return...

My husband and I came on a Saturday evening. There isn’t a clear area for greeting customers. We ended up floating for a few minutes hoping to see any staff. We were taken upstairs. It’s pleasant but there isn’t much atmosphere upstairs.

We popped in today for lunch with out 4 year old. Service was brilliant, waitress interacted with our daughter and made sure she was included. We went for the early bird offer. Ribs to start and steak all cooked lovely and to our requirements. My husband had read and then haddock and chips. He said it was also very well cooked. Our daughter had a children ribs and fries this was a good size serving and would be suitable for an older child. Well with trying the place out yourself and making your own mind up. We could not fault our visit at all.

I’ve reviewed before, but wanted to add another after visiting for my mums 70th birthday on Sunday. We had such a great time and the staff were lovely, offering great service and a surprise birthday dessert. Food was excellent- the steaks here are just so good, amongst the best I’ve had. This place is a gem on our doorstep.
