Joanne was lovely. The service was amazing and got seated and served very fast. Pricing is very reasonable and the atmosphere was brilliant. Really happy with the experience and had a lovely night.

Visited for a friend's birthday, a party of 7, booked for 8. The restaurant is quite small maybe around 8 tables. We had one of the two long benches. Food is a similar offering to that of Flat Iron, which I've dined at a few times in London although Featherblade doesn't offer anything unique and is slightly more expensive than the London rival. I went for the Featherblade steak which had a nice flavour albeit a little tough but this is to be expected for the type of cut, reasonably priced at £15. Accompanied by chips which were also good and a generous portion at that. I ordered creamed spinach for a side, as too did 3 of the party. However, after ordering we were informed there were only two left which was a bit disappointing given our booking was at 730pm on a Saturday, I would expect a restaurant to cater appropriately to avoid this situation. I did end up having some of my friend's and it was excellent, the best I have had in fact. Instead i ordered prawns in sweet chilli which was ok but the sauce tasted very much like the bottle of blue dragon I have in the fridge at home. Lastly, and the main reason for this 3 star review, our table was somehow double booked so after have placed our order, a party of 4 arrived and we were told politely to move up, i couldnt believe it, never have I experienced this before when dining out. We obliged and later in the evening another table became available and the other party moved there. Whilst pleasant enough it was an extremely tight fit and rather uncomfortable. The waitress tried to rectify the situation by offering us a free round of shots. Whilst i don't personally drink, the gesture was appreciated, and my friend had to have 2 shots instead. However, I got the impression the waitress didn't ok this with the manager as we were getting some glaring looks whilst the situation was being explained behind the bar. Suffice to say we didn't tip and I cant say i have any intention to ever go back.

We absolutely love it here - one of our go-to places! The steak is always cooked how we like it and the sides are amaaaaazing (especially the mac and cheese, prawns and the salads). We’ve been here a few times and the younger girls who serve us are so lovely and friendly. Great choice of drinks - I always get a cocktail and my partner gets craft beer. Highly recommend!!

We had a fantastic meal here with 5 friends. Jo and Vivian were fantastic hosts. We were very picky customers with many questions which they answered very patiently. Food was simply amazing. Steaks cooked perfectly and sides hot and to die for. Jo was so helpfull with any request we asked. I haven't felt so well looked after in a restaurant for a long while. 5* food and 5* service

Had a thoroughly good meal, similar to Faltiron, but without the franchise feel, we had the Fetherblade stark and a bigger with various sides, everything came to the table hot and well cooked, my steak was cooked exactly as ordered, medium rare, as for desserts, all I can say, is leave plenty of space if you are going to have the Biscotte Sundae

Terrible communication. It's impossible to call, tried for 3 days and nobody answered, the number on google goes to voicemail, and the number the voicemail referrers you to says the phone isn't available. When making a booking online, they request card information, when even top-tier fine dining restaurants in the area respect your data enough not to do this. Having been, it's a mediocre steakhouse, not even one Michelin star or anything near that quality. The tables are cramped together, or you're seated on a bench. It's far more pleasant, rather eat elsewhere.

The service was good, the wine was nice and the halloumi side was delicious but ultimately this is a steak restaurant and the steak wasn’t great. The actual quality of the meat wasn’t very good. I asked for a medium rare fillet which I should be able to cut though easy but it came out medium and was quite tough so I was having to hack at it a bit, and it didn’t overly taste of much. Shame as I was really looking forward to it

First time here last night, the food was exceptional, best meal we’ve had in years! We had the rib-eye from the special board, it was tender, full of flavour and cooked to perfection, we asked for medium and that’s what we got. The sides were equally as good, all seasoned well, hot and very tasty, the asparagus was amazing. Excellent service, very friendly and helpful. We gave our compliments to the chef because they deserved acknowledgment for the quality of food they prepared for us. It was my husband’s birthday and so pleased we had such a lovely evening. All in all I’d give 10/10. This was our first visit but won’t be our last

Thought I’d try the Featherblade. It was excellent steak despite being a cheaper cut. Sides and drinks also good, and served with a smile. Good for Coeliacs too. Only thing I wasn’t so keen on was the bench seating. Glad we got the small table. I like to sit back and relax which is hard to too if there are five other people on the same bench.

Its so lovely to find a place that ticks all boxes, atmosphere, warm welcome, excellent nostalgic music and beautifully cooked and presented food. We honestly felt like VIP's , Vivien was so attentive and welcoming as a host and Ben was a great waiter too. We opted for the New York Strip, cooked medium with sides of creamy spinach and mushrooms, absolutely beautiful. We chose the Portuguese Wine which really complimented the steak and we took our time and it was just perfect. Vivien called a cab for us when we left but we were not rushed and Vivien brough us a complimentary shot and came to speak with us. Thanks Vivien, you have have a great place and are a great hostess, we will recommend and return.

Wow, the steak was absolutely top notch. We are gauchos and Hawksmoor regulars so have some pretty decent reference points. The fillet and strip were sensational and so was the service! Highly recommended

this was definitely an experience. And not a good one!!!!! The food was cold, lifeless some may say. the underside of the steak was grey. and the top side was burnt. i went with a group of 7 of us, we were squashed on a bench after they mucked up our reservation and thought there was 6 of us. The music was so last year!! Not trendy!! my friend loved it, i think she’s in denial (she’s been through a lot) SHES 16 !!!! Anyway i had a great time!!

horrendous, made a booking, women who welcomed us for my dads birthday was sooo rude, got there 7.55pm booking at 8pm, was told sorry have to wait longer can’t “rush people off a table” poor service, disgusting customer service, eaten and worked in the town for years, never had quite a bad experience as that. don’t over book your restaurant and know your limits! cramming us on a bench with too many people is not the answer, i can see why this place gets mixed reviews but jesus know how treat your guests right.

Found this place as we were looking for somewhere for lunch on the weekend. Obviously a steak place but they do a vegetarian and vegan option too. The steak was reported to be very good (med rare) and my vegetarian dish (tomato, aubergine and mozzarella) was nice too and a good sized portion. We ordered sides too which I probably didn't need but good selection of sides - halloumi, mac and cheese, spinach, sweet potato etc They also served a burger but this could of been a special only (on the board). Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Looks like a nice place for the evening too - long wine list, cocktails and craft beer served.

4 of us went here and had the signature steak and mine was very tough and other 3 were OK but nothing great, sorry as staff were really good, oh well might have had an unlucky meal

Honestly would never come back again. I’m so disappointed after waiting a while to come here. The service was terrible: we waited over an hour for our food and when we complained the staff we argumentative. There were multiple reasons to complain, but most notably: - Steaks were cold which was apparently due to the garlic butter (the manager told us this) - Medium-well steak was cooked to medium rare, medium rare steaks were cooked to well done - One side of the steak was burnt and the other was grey: a classic sign of freezing If I could leave 0 stars I would.

Phahahahaha WOW! STAY AWAY FROM FEATHERBLADE! If I had to describe this restaurant in 1 word I would say pathetic. Came in for a birthday meal with my family, steaks was bland! No seasoning! And turned up cold. Even after replacing these steaks they seemed to come back worse. I have never seen a steak that has been burnt on one side and grey on the other. Worst steak experience in my life! Waitress came out to tell us the reason why the steak was cold which she explained that the garlic butter made the steak cold. Even though I took my own melted butter and put it on my friends steak. Waitress was argumentative. Completely unprofessional. Staff whispering and talking about us behind our backs. After all of that still paid 140 pound for the meals. Left the establishment fuming!

Had a terrible experience, party of 5, took an hour before food came out, similar sized party who turned up after us was served first. An absolute nightmare then ensued as the steaks and sides came out. Fries cold. Medium rare steak came out more well done than the medium well. New York strip went back twice. Clearly something horrendously wrong in the kitchen.p Managements advice as to why our steak was cold "sometimes the garlic butter can can turn a steak cold". Bad experience, never going back.

I booked through the website, I got a notification on my banking app which I confirmed. However I did not receive a confirmation email. I therefore tried to ring them to confirm the booking but on several attempts got no answer. We turned up and they didn't have the reservation. Rather than being apologetic was made to feel like I must've done something wrong, rather than their booking system being wrong and no one answering the phone. Not the end of the world as we just went to another restaurant down the road but would recommend double checking your bookings.

We’ve been here several times in the past and enjoyed but had a -terrible- experience this time - food cold, steak overdone, sides changed in presentation and recipe from the previous visits (mac & cheese markedly worse than 6 months ago) - only one server (who to be fair was really good and did a good job to manage all the tables) - I feel as though the chef (who is apparently new) has not given TLC to the preparation of the food. Several other tables were vocally complaining/sending food back. Bottom line is you had it so good in the past - what’s changed?! My advice is get more serving staff, resume your old menu and replace your chef before your reputation as a good steak house is unsalvageable.

Lovely decor, food was absolutely delicious, and the staff are a credit to the restaurant, so smiley, and had a great service. Will definitely return. Leigh on Sea is lucky to have this gem .

Atmosphere great, service really good, waiting staff friendly, professional & polite, food was lovely - everyone enjoyed their steaks & sides. Had a really lovely evening for my birthday with friends. Also, at last a place I could hear myself, and my friends, speak. The place was full but not ridiculously noisy like some of the places in Leigh - was a relief to not have to shout across our dinner.

Extremely long wait for food. After waiting for what seemed an eternity, the steak was well done, despite ordering rare. Sides were cold. Waitress extremely rude and told me would be a long wait for sides because it was busy and not to bother... Manager also arrogant when contacted about the steak and did very little to rectify the awful experience. Do not visit, save your money and go elsewhere.

What a great evening we had, the service was amazing and everyone was so friendly and they all seemed like they was happy and having a good time, lovely to see people happy in their jobs, makes for such a better experience. I came to the resturant yesterday and had a great experience, wonderful, attentive staff and food was amazing! We arrived and our table wasn’t ready for us yet however the manager gave us a shot on the house for the wait! Definitely coming again.

Really disappointed in the food. Steak wasn’t cooked as it was requested & some of the sides were cold. Chicken was not cooked through & drinks came out at all different time frames. Staff were not very helpful and were all over the place. Management also refuses to help any complaints. Very unorganized and poor establishment. What a shame.

My friend and I have been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. Last night though we felt let down. The wine bottle arrived opened already which I didn’t like. When I asked the waitress why it was opened already she mumbled an answer. I should have asked for a fresh bottle but didn’t. We both ordered off the wall (TBone for me @ £45 and Fillet for her @ £30). My steak was nicely cooked, but her fillet was underdone. She’s too polite to say anything which is a shame. The chips were cold (replaced quickly) but all the other sides were good and tasty. I ordered the sundae for dessert which was nice; although you can tell it’s all pre made and lives in a freezer until ordered(?). What let’s this place down is the service. We didn’t pay any service charge as we didn’t feel the meal warranted any; also it’s not automatically added onto the bill. No one came to ask us how our food was, whether we’d like to order another bottle of wine etc. We both agreed we wouldn’t go back.

This event was booked a while for 18 people. It was freezing cold and kept my coat on all evening - waitress couldn’t turn cooling fan off. Accompanying side orders arrived 10 minutes before steak and was cold. My husbands steak was acceptable but everyone else on our table wasn’t cooked to their liking. No condiments on table either - had to ask. No decent sweet Rose wine ( I ask for sweet) so had spirit. Set meal was expensive for what we had (£25 a head) On top of that we had to pay service charge of £2 each which didn’t merit. Didn’t wish to embarrass our friend who organised meal so we reluctantly paid. Would definitely not go again!!

My daughter and her fiancee went out to dinner after receiving a voucher for Featherblade as a present. But when they went to pay they were told they wouldn't honour it as it was signed by a member of staff who had stolen from them absolutely outrageous, how can they get away with treating customers like this!!!!

Really lovely restaurant, the steaks were cooked to perfection. We also ordered some sides and they were also very tasty and we enjoyed every bite! We felt a little let down when after the meal we said we wouldn't mind another few drinks and nobody came to get our order. We waited 15 minutes and then decided to leave. I also added a request to see if anything could be done for my husbands birthday (we had travelled from Somerset) but they could not offer anything. I suggested maybe a special cocktail and said I'd be happy to pay any extra costs for this but nothing was done. After this and the lack of anyone coming to take our drinks order at the end we were left feeling a little glum. Massive shame as the food was absolutely perfect!

Very very disappointed! We had a wait too long to be offered a drink and then even longer for our bottle of wine to be bought out. We chose Rose and the first bottle wasn’t cold at all. Again more waiting to send it back and receive a cold one! When the food was bought out it was wrong! more waiting only then to receive cold food that we couldn’t eat! We ended up not eating and leaving!! This was our anniversary meal and we were left disappointed and hungry! Very poor service, uninterested staff, cold food, long waits! Will not be visiting again!

Lovely small steak restaurant. Nice decor and table layout. Table service ladies very pleasant. Steak was perfect but mushrooms side were not nice. However on advising that (when asked how meal was) they deducted from bill without me asking. Very pleasant evening and definitely recommend. Just be aware parking can be difficult as road gets very busy so allow time for finding a space if eating in peak hours.

We went to Featherblade on a Saturday evening with our two children (13 and 14) and had a great time. The service was great as was the food. The children had burgers which they devoured followed by chocolate brownie, again not a crumb left. My husband and I both went for the fillet steak, with sides to share of chips, halloumi and creamy spinach. The steaks were melt in the mouth gorgeous.
