Visited The Bull, Wheathampstead for a meal and catch up with friends. We had a lovely meal with everything delicious and cooked to perfection. Our waitress, Belinda was attentive but not intrusive and was very knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. I couldn’t decide which cocktail to choose and Belinda recommended the Disarrano Blush which didn’t disappoint and I highly recommend too. The Bull is well worth a visit, lovely location especially if you get to sit outside by the river on a nice summer’s day.

Me and my family came to TGI FRIDAYS to get some dinner and dessert, and not only was the food lovely, but our waiter Shay really made our experience absolutely amazing, she was kind and had a warm approach when speaking to us. She also was very happy to talk to me and my family and have a quick laugh before hurrying to get our food on time. She made our dessert for us and I had the s’mores Sunday which I can honestly say was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten and I think her just being a nice person made me enjoy the food and experience more. All I can say more is that she really deserves a promotion for her amazing service.

Have been to TGI’s many times in the past but not for a number of years. Was shocked when I saw the price of the dishes on the menu, very expensive compared to other restaurants. Was even more shocked when the dishes arrived & saw the portion sizes. They certainly do not justify the prices! Service - apart from being shown to our seat & delivered food, there wasn’t any. Food - was in all honesty terrible. Luke warm & lacked any real flavour. To top it all off my son was sick later that evening so I now question if his chicken was actually cooked!! Perhaps someone from TGI’s should take a moment to read the reviews as they are not good. I will never be returning.

We have been going to BIT Back in Time Since they opens their doors. Nothing has changed, the food is still great, the staff so funny. The poor old train is slow and unable to pull any charades these days. This is a restraint that proves when you get the formula right don't change it

This place has most definitely gone down hill. We were greeted by someone who didn’t even so much as smile at us when we walked in the door. We then sat down and after we ordered our food it came out within around 10 minutes which had me wondering how considering as my partner had ordered slow cooked pork belly. When all the food came it was honestly so so poor, the chips were chewy and the chips ontop were hot but the ones underneath were cold as if they had been sat under a hot light. Very disappointing as it was our first evening and we usually really enjoy coming here. When we had finished we weren’t asked how our food was so we told our server how unhappy we were but she didn’t seem bothered. Most definitely won’t be returning.

The food quality and service is not the same as it was 2 years ago, we ordered a chicken steak which was completely dry, not worth the price at all, once we have had the starters the waiter was bringing out the mains without clearing up the starters mess which we needed to remind him, we were neither asked during our meal if we needed anything and how the food was as you would expect from a place like this we spent a total of £230 between 4 adults and 2 children and was still charged a 12% service charge which was a bad move from the management. I will not be visiting here again.

Very disappointed , this has always been my favourite eating place but this time no vegetable burgers , only meat like ones from soy ? Not every vegetarian likes these options , when I asked why no proper veg burgers as they used to have , answer was they couldn’t get them , they sell them in l plant freezer in tescos !!

A heady combination of truly horrible food and unfriendly staff make this a real one to miss - such as shame to see an Essex institution reduced to this: will not be back. Big up to Laura at the ‘next door’ Courtyard Tap (a different business, as the Starr seemed so keen to keep reminding us) for welcoming us once we had quickly tired of the Starr and keeping the good beer & conversation coming.

We recently enjoyed a Saturday evening family meal at Netherton Steakhouse. The waiting staff were very welcoming. The food was excellent and we had various burgers, steak and macaroni cheese. All cooked beautifully and generous portions. We were sat next to the bar area and the staff constantly apologised for the noise, but this really didn't bother us and we didn't complain but even so we were given a couple of complimentary drinks - very nice touch - thank you. Look forward to revisiting in the summer when we can sit in the lovely garden area.
