Granary Beefeater in Peterborough

Lovely service from Martha quick efficient and really kinda happy to make changes to my main and a really well cooked fillet

I have been a regular patron of The Granary from the 80's onwards and today has been a less than satisfactory experience. There is a problem with car parking, now you have to pay. No signage until you go through the barrier and you are in the restaurant .More importantly no communication prior to booking this change had happend. One of the managers shrugged it off and said "nothing he could do". I moved the car, rang the barrier, explained parked in error to be told sarcastically "looks like you are stuck in here for good then" before the barrier was opened. Not the greatest of starts..... Ordered a meal with my mother as we were out for a mother's day treat. The lamb for me and the beef roast for her. The Beef roast arrived looked quite chargrilled, the lamb roast had 2 small pieces of lamb, 3 small roast potatoes and veg to make it look bigger. It was a joke...All the tables around me reacted when their respective lunches were served as I didn't want to spoil our afternoon/lunch out I purposely said nothing. However, there was plenty of mint sauce, if I had put that on my plate it would have been smothered. The quality and standard of the lunch was sub standard for the price. That together with the car parking fiasco, ruined what should have been a pleasant afternoon. Our server Martha was excellent, friendly, helpful and kept her sense of composure during some hostile encounters this afternoon. Sorry Granary, you have lost a dedicated customer !

Beautiful meal and staff went over and above to make our meal special as we'd just got engaged. Amy served us and she was so attentive. The manager tried to amend our breakfast booking so family could attend knowing there's over 890 people booked in today. Thanks for an amazing memory, we'll be back ☺️

We used to go quite often for breakfast and it was always spot on. Today it most definitely wasn’t. The pain au chocolat were all squished and mushed together. The hot breakfast mediocre at best. Cheap sausages, bacon all stuck together, egg over cooked, beans tastes tangy. I let the waitress know that it wasn’t up to their usual standard and her response was will I like eating it!! Well good for you but as a customer I did not!! Such a shame cos we used to really enjoy it there.

We go on special occasions and have had some lovely meals in a good atmosphere we always put a special request on the booking so we get maximum value

Excellent service and attention from Natalie. Good choice of well prepared meals in a comfortable and friendly environment. Recommended.

Nice lunch wasn't too busy, so was very pleasant. Waitress very attentive, good choice on menu. Good view over golf course. Only niggle is The Granary doesn't offer decaffeinated coffee or tea which nowadays is commonplace and a popular choice in eateries.

Varied menu containing good reasonably priced food. A great steak served with excellent service. However, parking was disappointing and at a cost

A special shout out to our waitress Louise who went above and beyond to make my autistic sons visit here this morning as comfortable as possible, we really can’t Thankyou enough for going that extra mile and being so understanding. The unlimited cooked breakfast is delicious and a wide range of options to try from the continental breakfast. Thankyou for making us feel so comfortable and welcome. We will definitely be back.

Great service and food was hot and cooked to perfection, we did not have to wait too long for the drinks, Emma our hostess was great and very helpful.

The staff were friendly, efficient and polite. The food was delivered in good time and was hot! The toilets were clean and tidy. I would go back anytime.

I have a great experience every week I stay at the Premier Inn next door. Basically lived here for 6months and without fail every week the food and service here is impeccable 👌 Big thanks to all the breakfast and evening staff especially Louise! Thank you for making me feel comfortable and welcome every day! Will miss you guys! All the best in your futures, maybe our paths will cross again sometime!

We came around 12:30 for the Sunday lunch, and our waiter was a lovely man called James B, Front the moment we sat down he was over to take our drinks order and ask us how we were, Throughout the meal and dessert he was amazing and kept checking on us, we asked if we could leave him a tip but he only suggested a review and that was a lovely sentiment, Would 100% return again, lovely place and lovely staff, not to mention the food to!

Don’t have the Sunday roast sharer, not enough veg for one person, was told no chicken but just heard the chef say to someone that they need to get rid of the turkey. Roast potatoes, parsnips and Yorkshire puddings all over cooked. Off to Waitrose...

Stopped at the premiere inn next door, glad that I chose to have the meal deal here as the food was really good! The service was excellent by Chloe W, who smiled throughout service and was extremely attentive, great place for casual dining.

Always a great place to go for breakfast. We have a cooked and continental breakfast. Eat as much as you like. Hot food cooked to order. As much tea or coffee as you want as with the fruit juices.

Breakfast was good as always, but halfway through eating an employee came in with her kids being super loud and disruptive. That’s wasn’t the main problem tho the problem was the mother leaving her young kid unattended sat in the middle of the dining room with an iPad on full volume and then he throw up everywhere, which is pretty off putting as it is but not the kids fault or the parents so this wouldn’t have been such an issue if she took the child to the toilet and cleaned the mess up after sorting the kid so the customers ain’t watching her sick child being sick ,gagging or watching her clean sick but instead she wanted to clean it by herself after repeatedly being offered by colleagues to help her and then ran past me into the staff room multiple times with puke dripping from the tissue she’s cleaning up with, this didn’t only put me off my breakfast made my stomach turn then to top it off leaves her kid again bare in mind he’s about 3/4 after just being sick to go and rant to her friends/coworkers about his puke and how she’s paranoid about the kid gonna puke again zero professionalism whether she’s working or not and if she wants to claim that she wasn’t working why was she using the staff rooms next to me to throw her sicky tissues away and not general public toilet. Super disappointing as the breakfasts are normally very good

This is a great restaurant for a quick bite to eat, they offer a 2 or 3 course lunch menu at a very reasonable price
