Very disappointed , this has always been my favourite eating place but this time no vegetable burgers , only meat like ones from soy ? Not every vegetarian likes these options , when I asked why no proper veg burgers as they used to have , answer was they couldn’t get them , they sell them in l plant freezer in tescos !!

Very good food as always, Had a takeaway this time. Service was fast and food still hot once home. Thanks again Sgt peppers.

I wanted to say a massive thank you to the team at SGT Peppers for making our Silver anniversary meal perfect. The staff were inviting, the Service was fantastic and as always the food was amazing. We love this place for good value, a fantastic atmosphere, we know it’s clean and we go away full and enjoy our perfect treat! Look forwards to going back again next time. Best Veggie Lasagne ever!!! Went for mine and granddaughters birthday with family we had a great time it was clean food was lovely and the staff was great it was the 1st time I had been and I really enjoyed it as so did everyone else so thankyou stg peppers!!

We have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years, it used to be so popular and one of the best places to eat. When we visited this time it was really disappointing. Our burgers were dry and we hardly had any salad. The portions were really reduced, you could see most of the plate, before food was handling off it! We get it's post-covid and places are struggling but this was a really big reduction to the point where we were still hungry when we left! Never had that before at sgt ps. The place is tired, deco and toilets need an update. Such a shame as we won't return unless things improve.

Have dined at sgt peppers since opening and this was the worst experience we have had.bring back the original owner after being seated had to wait 15 minutes before asked for drinks order still had along wait to get drink stopped a waitress with glasses about food order very rude response eventually food order taken no apology for wait seemed we were a inconvenience no one asked if we required extra drinks no wonder when we paid the waitress pressed the no tip button they must have been embarrassed sorry sgt peppers after 42 years I will not be back

Went with family. Same old menu but definitely not made the same. Very moody waitress/owner. Real attitude and extremely sarcastic. Needs some customer service training.

What a major disappointment. Went with family for birthday celebration. My neice got a drink spilt on her with no apology. Starter of mushrooms came were so hard you couldnt put a fork in them to pick them up they were that over cooked. Over 50 minute later our mains came, brother had wrong order, my chicken was so over cooked you could have soled your shoes with them, nephew pork belly was jelly and had bones in. We didn't bother stopping for their iconic puddings. The staff were standing around looking miserable. After years and years of going to Sgt Peppers this will be our last trip.

Came here for my dad's birthday it's his favourite restaurant he has the same every time and he loves it. Unfortunately this visit wasn't great. We arrived shown to our table drink order was taken by one member of staff then as we were waiting another member staff came over and asked if we wanted to order drinks which I explained we already had. No communication between staff. Drinks came, we ordered. Starters and mains. Starters came out the mushrooms weren't how they used to be . Quality has gone down hill. Mains weren't much better. A "high pile" of salad on the menu was three large lettuce leaves sliced tomato and cucumber, and onion and 4 slices of peppers. The chicken on my mum's and aunties meals were hard and hard to cut and very dry. Chips were hard and Luke warm . My husband's belly pork fat was like jelly when he was expecting it to be crispy. He ate the meat on his plate and left everything else. About 70% of the waitresses seem to be under the age of 18 and one asked us when cleaning our starters away " were these your starters "??!! As if she didn't know , These girls don't seem to have had adequate training and some looked uncomfortable serving.. The hype of sgt peppers when we were kids ,it was such a treat to go to and we were looking forward to our meal tonight. But , unfortunately after tonight's food quality and waiting 50mins between starters and mains we won't be returning. I understand the price of living is going up and it is a struggle but as a restaurant you have cut back on quality and unfortunately you will loose alot of custom.

Visited here for my birthday this evening and we all had a lovely meal, there is always a warm and friendly welcome when we arrive here, the menu choice is brilliant we all had starters, mains and a desert, service was friendly and prompt, the voodoo chilli starter was amazing, the burgers are filling and the deserts huge, you can see how this well established restaurant is still at the top of its game in Lowestoft , very highly recommended.

Great food and waitress as always but we were downstairs in the cellar despite booking well in advance. The area was extremely cold and we were sat on a bench seat in a row as advised the stools were uncomfortable for any length of time. The bench seat was at the bottom of the stairs and every time the door opened upstairs a cold blast of air could be felt. With the background music, cold draft, no heating and having to eat wrapped up in our coats and scarfs we were bitterly disappointed with our very short evening and will certainly think twice about returning.

Great Meal. Went for the C&B Burger. Absolutely beautiful taste. Atmosphere was great but got a little noisy with a large party next to our table but it didn’t spoil the occasion. Waitress was very quick and attentive. Overall it was a brilliant meal and exceptional service. Thankyou

Haven’t been here for years so thought we’d try it. The place was busy (as always) and good atmosphere. But, what happened to the lovely huge salad you used to get with every meal?? Also, the waitresses seemed so fed up, like, when they we’re waiting to take our order but a couple of us were undecided it was so obvious they didn’t want to be standing there, felt quite uncomfortable. That said, the food was ok, and we’ll no doubt go back at some point but just felt it’s not what it used to be.

We attended last night for an adhoc family meal, we have used Peppers extensively in the past and never really had any complaints however last night was very disappointing. The burger was very tough, dry and difficult to cut, so much so I had to leave it. The pepper sauce whilst ok was a bit bland and not really peppery. Come on guys, get back to how you were before.

Our favourite family restaurant we all love coming here . The atmosphere is brilliant .have been many times and their will be many more times too :) . The décor is lovely love the 1960s pictures and music gives it such a lovely feel . The staff are fantastic and hard working :)

We had 3 tasty meals that’s was reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and was helpful with allergen information. The only complaint is that the menu is hard to understand the first time you go.

Still a great place to visit for food, huge choice and great quality. It does get very busy and noisy with lots of kids and hen party's.

What has happened!! Having not visited for ten years and being excited about my recent booking; I was keen to take my family to one of Lowestoft’s best restaurants. I COULDN’T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!! This restaurant is a shadow of its former self, really poor. I visited with my wife and two children (aged 8 & 12) Firstly we were ushered to the “basement” where we we weren’t shown to a seat and just picked anywhere. While we were in the “basement” there was someone setting up for a kids birthday party and there other parents started to arrive dropping there kids off & hanging over our table. If I was informed when I booked that there was a kids birthday party going on down in the basement where I was going to be seated I wouldn’t have made the booking!! Meals: I had Beef Burger topped with Chile & French Fries. Burger was very dry and there was literally two table spoons of flavourless Chile topped. Not very many French fries (years gone By this restaurant used to be famous for the amount of French fries you had on your plate . Daughter: Had a Cheese Deluxe burger. Hardly a “deluxe burger” when it’s one slice of processed cheese. Another dry burger and my daughter didn’t eat it all. Son: My son had a kids meal bbq burger with French fires. This was literally dripping in bbq sauce - far too much on a kids meal. Not a great idea being this messy on a kids meal. Again, his burger was dry. Wife: This was probably the best meal out of all of the order. She had vscampi, fries and side salad. Sides: Onion Rings - clearly been reheated and weren’t very nice. A bad meal with poor service and poor quality food. I won’t be back

The food overall was nice, burgers were good and steak was enjoyed too. The experience was odd though. We dealt with at least 6 different servers throughout our 90 minute stay and were asked if we wanted drinks 3 times by 3 different people before even placing food order. All felt a bit unorganised. Ordered a Dr Pepper ice cream float and was brought out a can of Dr Pepper, an empty glass and a bowl of ice cream, why is it a DIY float? And the glass was too small for ingredients provided. When asked for sauces we wanted tomato sauce, mayo and BBQ sauce. We were told it's an additional charge for BBQ sauce which is bizarre for a burger restaurant but we thought okay that will only be 50p or £1 so went with it. What was brought out was a steaming bowl of BBQ sauce with a spoon (picture a shallow soup bowl) and the charge on the bill was close to £3!!! Madness for some sauce to go with chips.

Its a 65 mile round trip so unfortunately, we can only book here when we visit the Marina Theatre. We have been coming here for over 20 years now and it never fails to have a buzzying vibe and the burgers are the best. We are not "burger" people but these are always tasty and juicy and every time we say we will try something else off the menu and then we don't! We wish that they would open in Norwich as well but until then, we shall always visit when we are in Lowestoft. Joanne always seems to be there and she has an excellent team behind her.

Ordered at 5.30 to be told to pick up at7.10pm, sat waiting in the restaurant (near the toilets) for half an hour before they realised they had the name wrong. Food was awful. Burgers were dry and the sauce had dried up where it was obviously sitting for ages. Bbq spare ribs were more fat than meat! We spent over £50 to feed 4 and I’d rather had gone to Mac Donald’s. Don’t wast your money or your time waiting. Such a shame.

Shown to our table, food was ok but it was far too hot lemon chicken consisted of a piece of lemon with the chicken,! when asked if we could have aircon on the waitress said the owner would not put it on. Would have had dessert but far too hot to stay in there. Mediocre and underwhelming.

Waiting staff spilled a pint of drink at the table with no offer to clean or compensate. Waiting staff were plentiful but impossible to attract to the table and Waiting times were long without hardly any customers. Having to leave our table to find a waiter to order dessert was met with no apology. Felt no choice but to request the bill when dessert arrived in order to plan our exit quickly as possible as who wants to wait 20 minutes for a waiter to even visit the restaurant where paying customers pay for a service?! There was about 7 waiters and zero table service. Food was bland and really lacking in anything tasty at all. The salad consisted of a few leaved of lettuce and a slice of tomato thrown on a shop bought roll with a tasteless bland burger. The menu of burgers is one burger with a choice of different sauces. The whole menu remain unchanged for decades and has been left behind in a world where burgers have become sophisticated and imaginative. Boring food and bored and invisible staff. A disappointing experience that definitely left us all concluding that a return visit will not be happening. A shame really as this was once a nice place with a friendly and original vibe. The food is dated and the staff were either unhappy, bored and mostly invisible. After 2 hours we left whilst the floor under and beside our table sat soaked in Dr Pepper. Bizarre experience indeed.

OK where to start very dark decor considering it was beatles themed odd couple of beatles pics on the wall no beatles music bit of let down . Staff were ok in general as should be . Food was terrible cold burger raw in the middle . chips cold and hard . nachos chili bad no chilli at all just bland warm meat . My wife had vegetable lasagne only ingredient was mushroom no other vegetable. I asked the waitress why was there no vegetables in vegetable lasagne and was told well there should be there is usually and she then walked off . I ordered a side of chicken wings only 1 of those wings was cooked the rest were pink and red in middle and again stone cold . The only thing that was correct was the money they charged us for this experience. Over 60 pounds for 1 edible chicken wing

Have been visiting Sgt Peppers for years, this time I was left feeling underwhelmed and questioning whether I would rush to go back. The portions have reduced, including one sad lettuce leaf to a burger, and a child size looking portion of chips. The mountain of chips and delicious side salad with orange slices on was always a selling point of the restaurant, now you can just see the white plate through the accompaniments which takes away from the experience and enjoyment. Although they advertise that you can order more chips, it was a mission to find and flag down a member of waiting staff to actually order the extra chips so this offer is basically useless. It is also a shame that they no longer routinely bring out the relish trays that they used to, as these were a real feature of the restaurant and something that people enjoyed. Now you have to ask for a dish of tomato sauce or mayonnaise, and on our visit we weren’t given enough to go around the table of six, so had to attempt once again to flag down someone for more sauce. Service was also slow which was odd considering it was quiet in the restaurant.

First time back in 20 years having moved away and it didn’t disappoint. The sundaes are the best - and the main meals still huge! Not somewhere to go if you are on a health kick but worth taking a day off for!

Poor ventilation, service okish , if you like large portions of high fat carbs then i'm sure it's fine, but personally I like freshly prepared

We have been coming here for 30+ years and have never had a bad meal but last night was awful. I’m sad to write this review. To start the wine we ordered was warm, not the slightest bit chilled, apparently that was the coldest one...

Amazing food, great portions, love the theme and decor in this restaurant. Even have a set of drums attached to the ceiling. All staff wore masks/visors and you could see they were cleaning everything between customers. Felt very safe.

When I was in town I decided to give this place a try. Well I am glad I did. Staff very friendly and clean. All Covid friendly. The burger was good quality and great portions. A great music selection as well.

Visited with the family as down from bristol, lovely surf and turf and steaks were lovely would recommend.

Food here was excellent. I had Octopuses Garden, my husband had steak,both faultless. Staff were really friendly and surroundings so much fun. Very well worth a visit especially if you remember the Beatles

I had the cheese deluxe burger, the burger itself was dry and tasteless and the cheese was just put on and not melted. The bun was watery so could not pick it up. Wedges were overdone for my liking. The music was too loud I could just about hear what my friends were saying. Only plus would be the service was quick but the waitress could be more friendly. I'm glad I did not pay full price! If your looking for a decent burger I would definatly not recommend here.

We came in on a Saturday for a late lunch / early dinner, the restaurant was very empty, so service was very good. The food was as expected, good and very large portions. Another satisfied visit here!

Having lived in Lowestoft for over 6 years I still hadn't been! Heard literally EVERYONE rave about it so we went last night. I was absolutely not disappointed!Food was great, had Chilli Burger - i was stuffed! Others in the group had ribs and C&B burger - they really enjoyed in too. I was far too stuffed for dessert but one of us did have the brownie and enjoyed it alot!Service was attentive, friendly and all food great. We visited Giardinos last week and here was far better, food and service wise.Im so pleased you lived up to my expectations! Definitely coming back....ALOT

Stayed in Lowestoft for 4 nights and of the 4 restaurants we ate at this was second best despite eating at Giardino Italian Restaurant which was of poor service and food, the service at SGT PEPPERS was 200% better. The two waitresses that served us on 30th July evening were excellent.Although the food was basic it was cooked well and tasty.

Reasonable food and great price due to the current 50% government incentive. Burgers would be better with a few more options but they were still nice and good portions. Staff could have been a little happier to be there and more attentive. Would happily return but it maybe wouldn’t be my first choice.

My wife and I visited Sgt Peppers as part of a night out with my darts team and we had an enjoyable night. It had been over 5 years since my previous visit and the experience was very similar...tasty food, generous portions, friendly service, although some of the menu choices were quite pricy for what they are.Sgt Peppers specialise in various burger dishes, all named after Beatles and sixties bands hits. The menu also includes steaks, scampi, ribs, etc, but the main focus is the various specialty burgers and their 'fab fries' although there isn't anything particularly fab about them really.We generally only have a main course and dessert as the plates are very filling, in part due to the volume of fries and salad that is included with most dishes. You can choose a jacket potato as a substitute for fries but most dishes are described as served with fries. My wife had the Fat's Pork Belly Ribs, which were large and smothered in BBQ sauce although both ribs were very fatty. I enjoyed a double chilli burger meal, and the beef patties were thick and meaty, although I would have liked a bit more chilli on the burgers and more spicy heat as it was a bit tame for a chilli.We shared a Sargent's Mess dessert, which was very tasty but mainly squirty cream and strawberries with very little meringue. In contrast the milk shakes were excellent..my wife and I both enjoying a mint choc shake, and that was the best thing in the meal.Staff were very friendly throughout, and we all enjoyed the occasion, although the meal itself was only just on the good side of average and some bits were a little disappointing.

Very good, friendly and quick service. Ample portions of tasty burgers and chips. Good value with the burger and drink offer £11.95p . Desserts are very large and I recommend going for the half dessert portion- (even these were of generous size)Overall good value for money and it was nice being in a 60’s themed setting.

Had a lovely meal on a Tuesday night and that was mainly thanks to our waitress Hannah. I am gluten free and nothing was to much trouble for her, she went through the menu stating what was safe and even altered a starter from nachos to bread so I could have it. She checked on us during the meal to check all was ok. The food was hot and lovely. The bill was wrong at the end but Hannah sorted it for us. All the staff were friendly and attentive.

Recommended by locals on facebook.Either lowestoft has insanely low standards or I was just unlucky, however noticing other recent reviews clearly I wasn't!The music is way too loud for my taste it was not a level I would want personally while eating out in a restaurant, except for a pub. But the food was worse, skinny hard tasteless fries, like the ones you get frozen. The burger was also tasteless and the salad definitely not fresh. For the quality you got certainly not worth the price. I can categorically say Mc Donald's is better quality! nope don't reccomend a visit here.Sgt Pepper clearly have been going downhill for sometime but either blinded loyalty of locals or cost cutting is keeping them in business. Its a bit of both I would imagine ‍♀️

Menu says if you want more chips just ask we did and was told we had more on our plate as we asked when ordering.Question,How do we know that? Portion was normal as far as I could tell.Bearing in mind there was six of us paid £75 for what is burger and chips and drink.Even the ketchup was invisable on first delivery.Only asked for an extra three as the lads were hungry after work!!Given the cost of a few chips...disgusted by the waitress attitude.

First visited when it opened, remember we’ll going outside in the dark to use toilets ! . Many years later it is still a great place to eat and indoor toilets ! Fantastic food and staff. Family friendly and brilliant atmosphere.

It's been 2 years since I was in Sgt Peppers and I can't remember the food being so disappointing. The burger was grim and tough to get through, the chili was not nice at all. The chips are frozen skinny chips. I could easily have done better at home with oven chips for a lot less money.There is a bit of competition in Lowestoft these days and Sgt Peppers need to think again I think.One positive thing that can be said is that the service was excellent.

This is the most i have ever spent in my life for weatherspoon grade food...id honestly say the breakfast i ate at weatherspoons on the same morning was far better than the meal i spent 45 pound on for tea,, the service and the staff are very good cant knock there staff ..id say excellent service to be fair ...but the food is basically burger van food ..the tables and chairs are cheap its pub grub charged at high end restaurant prices ..it was busy ...that really surprised me ..i think sometimes people we just go out to eat for the occasion..and really dont care about the food there buying because there to concerned about the occasion being fun .. this place has been running the 30 years i have been living in the town .. i dont get it .. so many better options for food .. but if you want burger and chips on a plate and you dont mind paying 40 pound for it to sit on plastic chairs and tables with no heating then look no further ...i think the beatles would be offended with the crap food they put out

Haven’t been for a few years as moved away from the area but we visited last minute , food was great , my kids loved it, and the lady mint Madonna is still the best! Staff were excellent . Thank you

Not what it was.Although you get a burger and drink fot £10.95 the portion of chilli I had in mine barely covered the burger.The same for my wifes ringo.Burger was well overcooked,thus very dry.I had to pile on plentt of relish...if only,the tray had no more than 2/3 teaspoons of sweetcorn and chilli.These products cost nothing.

Came here whilst visiting the broads on holiday. Had a really good dinner - nice food, lovely staff, and a really cool venue full of character. Our 1 year old devoured his burger, and enjoyed the balloon and colouring set provided! The adults had a burger each, both had really nice toppings (I had chilli, better half had blue cheese) and were very well priced for the portion size. A very warm family atmosphere, will definitely visit again if in the area.

So I first visited in 1987 with friends for my 18th birthday, and in time for my 50th birthday visited again with family. Brilliant place, great friendly service and the food is awesome - amazing portions. Very recommended!

The turning of the restaurant was good. A great range of food, our burgers and scampi was all good and cooked to order. With the offer available midweek our food was good value.

I came in here while visiting Suffolk with family, having read good reviews. Can highly recommend. Everything about the restaurant was brilliant: great atmosphere - quirky deco and lighting + music just the right level of low, not brash and in your face. The staff were super friendly in a way that seemed genuine. Service was quick and helpings were generous. The food itself was really tasty and well presented / cooked. Apparently the place has been about a long time, and I can see why. Would have no hesitation in recommending, and will certainly visit again if ever in this part of the country.

Had classic double ringo easy large enough for two mum had chicken burger , Quality potion size great as usual , went to Zaks few weeks ago no comparison to Peppers .

Took my son for meal it was loverly and we both enjoyed our burgers .The choc fudge cake is the best the staff very friendly will be back in october for my sons birthday x

This restaurant was the best place for food twenty five years ago but as the menu never changes it's become very boring. Maybe good for a first visit but it needs some modernization.

Came here for a 45th birthday dinner, pretty huge group of us. I had the ZZ Top Burger, which was messy, but still delicious. The dessert was the best part though with the ice cream, bananas and caramel sauce. Overall, the visit was top quality and everyone had cake too. Would come here again for special occasions.

Dined here with friends for a birthday celebration. We were staying nearby and friends had booked to eat here as they are big Beatles fans. Staff were very friendly and accommodating - the service was 5*

Prior to booking I checked to make sure they catered for people with gluten intolerances. The manager emailed me promptly and gave me all the information I required. Even when I booked staff assured me gluten free food is cooked separately.

This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, great 60s music playing and loads of photos and memorabilia around the place. Food was plentiful and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our steaks were a bit over cooked but apart from that no complaints. Desserts are huge!! Even the half sized portions.

My partner booked and came in on a busy Saturday night half an hour before our table was due. We were seated quickly and ordered our starters and mains.

We komen hier al zo'n dertig jaar af en toe. De sfeer, de vriendelijkheid van het personeel is er nog altijd. De porties zijn echter wel flink gekrompen en het eten is nog wel redelijk maar niet echt fantastisch meer. Langzaamaan dus wel minder helaas.

I have been visiting sgt peppers for family meals since i was a young child, it is ideal for large family groups as they can create massive tables for 10 or so as long as you book in advance. if your table won’t fit in the standard dining room they will put you downstairs in the function room so you can have an EVEN BIGGER TABLE. the burgers are very nice, we are a little bit upset they have changed it so you don’t get as many chips as you used to.. but you can ask for extra for free so i guess that’s the silver lining, i would rather just have them on my plate to start with as i know i will eat them. their peppercorn sauce is probably the best any one at our table has ever had. At the end of the day it is a good family restaurant that serves great burgers and desserts at reasonable prices.

Often a family filled venue! Lots of atmosphere! A casual place and possibly a little dated now. But if you've got kids who want to get their friends together - great!

Love burgers and these are real burgers! Also love The Beatles music and theme. Maybe a few too many chips for me, but better than too less!

I have been visiting here for many years, so have become accustom to the place. I love the easy going atmosphere and how family friendly it is, together with great food at a fair price.

Nice restaurant and good food however experience was let down by the customer service or lack of should I say from the female staff. The 2 female waitress's that served our table were both very rude and abrupt. The first one snatched a drink from our table and stormed off when we said that we had asked for no lemon in the drink... (the drink came out with lemon) and when my friend asked the second waitress if she had brought over the spare glass we requested she almost jumped down her throat before she barked at her "Yes I know! this is all I could fit on the tray!"... very poor customer service! The gentleman that served us however was quite delightful and very pleasant with good customer care skills, its a pity we couldn't have had him all the time! No complaints with the food though and the Brownie was very delicious. Unfortunately wont be returning though.

I am always anxious eating out! It was worse this time as I had an additional member (a 4 year old!). However, I never once needed to be anxious. They made us all welcome, from my deaf and disabled daughter, who's birthday it was, to my son who has an allergy to all nuts. My mother is diabetic and wanted a child's meal, I wanted sides only and my son didn't like his, so they exchanged it for free!

Been here a few times now and have always enjoyed our time here. This time we did have an issue with 2 steaks, this was quickly dealt with by Michael and he couldn’t have been any nicer in dealing with rectifying the problem.

Great restaurant fantastic food, music was great for the theme. I would highly recommend. Staff were helpful and happy.

Haven't been for many years but was very disappointed and won't be returning anytime soon. Barmaid was very rude when asked if we could get a drink as our friends hadn't arrived. Steak was cold asked for some mustard but got that after I had finished my meal. I know it was a busy Saturday evening but service was slow. Chips were soggy and salad limp and disappointing. I won't be returning.

Had a meal here on the 4th February 2018 as it was our daughters birthday , we had a lovely meal I had barbecue chicken which was delicious it was very hot and more than I could eat the staff were friendly , the only thing i will say the service was very slow but that was all .

the food is adequate, thats all it is, disgusted at the fact that the bar was full of empties YET they were still taking drinks orders. not a good look. their lcal reputation preceeds them ,but folk here are easily pleased. would i eat from here again?. not really

Had a great meal waitress was Brill but this was spoilt that we were seated by the entrance and by mens toilet we had constant stream of people walking by us knocking into us we ate quickly and wanted to leave would come again but request not to be seated there

First time in years we visit Sgt Peppers, Meal was very nice but from what it used to be like to now the biggest change is the portion sizes, We used to get a good sized plateful but now it seemed a bit sparse especially with the chips bought out in a small silver pot more like a small child mc donalds portion ..

Sgt peppers never lets yer down always great service , great food , very good value , I tried something new to me I had breaded chicken with rings sauce on top very tasty

Regularly visit this place, love it. It's consistently brilliant. Great value for money, the staff are all lovely, and the food is always delicious. The atmosphere is great, so is the music, and the decor is cool too.

For years we would often visit this gem on the weekend however recently the place has let itself go. The groovy decor is still there but now splattered with food and drink and looks like it's never been cleaned.

Never been here before and it was busy and way too noisy. The burgers are over priced for what you get. I ordered the smokehouse burger expecting it to be smoked beef with pulled bbq pork, what I got instead was a normal plain burger but with abit of barbecue sauce on, a sad looking lettuce leaf and a bit of onion. I could have asked for the plain burger and asked for free BBQ sauce and saved myself a couple of £'s.

We came this evening for a family meal (birthday/Xmas). Lovely meal had by all. Rarely a member of staff came over to disturb us. Staff happy to assist us as we wanted to take the rest of our 2 year old food away.

Have been many times over the years and must admit it’s still just average, prices I feel for what you get are quite steep.

I've been visiting Sgt Peppers since it began and it has never disappointed, though recently I don't feel the burgers are quite so tasty. Unlike some people I am quite happy that the amount of chips has become smaller because I could never finish a meal before! I don't know if the prices have risen recently but it does sometimes appear to be more expensive than it used to; although having said that, it is still very good value and it would never put me off. It's great that this restaurant is still here after so many years and there is obviously a good reason why. I hope it doesn't change too much as it will always be my 'go to' restaurant for a cheap and cheerful burger meal. Long may you reign Sgt P!

I’ve been coming to Sgt Peppers for many many years, never been disappointed in previous years, always had excellent service, lively atmosphere and lovely food but sadly this visit a few of us were slightly disappointed with the food, years gone by plate was overflowing with food but not this time, sad to say the burger topping lacked flavour and had to ask for an extra portion of chips (we still managed to eat everything though) and we all managed dessert, which is unusual but saying all this we will return, as it’s a firm favourite with all of us

Arrived at 17.15 to a cheerful greeting by a waitress, not been here for 6 years after last semi bad meal, drinks orders taken quickly followed by menus, chose 2 prawn cocktails, 2 steaks with mushroom sauce & extra side of slaw, have to say all very well presented & tasted fab along with a very attentive waitress, my only little issue was the portion size was not the same as my previous visits ( going back 15 odd years. ) as had room for desserts, so when the bill came to £ 70.00 + for an early tea that took the shine off things a bit but will be back for a special occasion meal with friends.

This place has been a family go to place for all my life and I’m 35. While it has kept its traditions with groovy decor and music, extravagant deserts and strong cocktails I’ve got a feeling new management have came in and cut the chip portions down! Come on guys the main reason we come to this place is because we knew we’d get chips falling of the plate so get loading up again.... same goes for the sweet corn relish, fill that dish up baby. Apart from that you can’t go wrong for hearty food...

My immediate and extended family love this place whether it be eating in or taking away but not having been for a while I always look forward to a sgt pepper burger as the peppercorn sauce is unreal but after having it tonight I was disappointed, would have tried a different burger if I’d known that the recipe had changed, a largely minor gripe but for years was immense.
