unfortunately having now sent 6! e.mail complaints ot hed office and still njot having the courtesy of a reply I feel that I have to write a review about this branch. I have been a regular customer here pretty much since it opened. Now and again I have had cause to complain about the food being cold or waiting time. However, these have been minor. On the whole I have always been positive about this branch. Unfortunately I had the misfortune to visit her circa 2 weeks ago. As always I had the dates and steaks with my daughter. Occasionally we ask if we can swap the dessert for a mini pud and coffee (=no difference in price, in fact sometimes it works out cheaper). Never ever ever been a problem before until this night. Firstly there were barely any staff on. We were told due to school holidays sickness etc. I accept that it is common in a lot of restaurants in the holidays. Lady was very polite explained that she was very busy juggling everyone but would not be too long. Again we understood. We got our starters and mains which were delicious. Unfortunately after this it went downhill. We had to ask twice for someone to take our dessert order. We explained re sometimes changing the mini pud and he said as he was new he would check with his manager. Again no problem at all. He came back took our order and after some considerable delay we finally got our desserts. After 20 mins or so we decided to ask for the bill. This is where it went catastrophically downhill. The lady waitress whom we had to go and find said that she could not put the mini pud through as till would not accept it. We explained that usually they just put through a standard pud off the menu. She then went to find her manager at 8.40. By 9.30 we had to ask 3 times bar staff and other waiters what ws going on. We are both NHS workers coming off a 14 hour shift and wanted to get home. Eventually a very bolshy little man who I assumed was the asst manager came over and very rudely argued that we had not waited 40 minutes (we had) but suspect we were forgotten. Then argued that "its a set menu for a reason" not for changing. We argued that this had never been a problem before and also queried why it had taken so long. He claimed to have been on the phone to the General Manager (Damien) for 20 minutes ??? Eventually he said he had corrected the bill but not to bother coming back if we dont like the service and if we want to alter the menu because apparently it is now under a new company and a new protocol (according to Damien) . What I find strange is why is this not noted on the menus, as I know we are not the only ones to sometimes change the pudding )as 2 customers also stated to us whilst we were waiting). They had also been waiting 15 minutes for their bill!. And also, if he knew about the change of company and protocol why did he not make his waiter aware of this. My daughter rightly said that their staff are clearly not trained correctly which he argued they are buit cannot be as even he did not appear to know about this so called new company or protocol. SO AFTER SENDING IN 6 COMPLAINT E.MAILS TO MILLER AND CARTER STILL NO REPLY WHICH PROVES THAT LOYALTY TO THIS COMPANY MEANS NOTHING. IN SHORT DONT GO IF YOU DARE TO ASK FOR SOMETHING OFF THE MENU OR IF YOU DARE TO CRITICISE HOW LONG YOU HAVE HAD TO WAIT OR YOU WILL BE BARRED!

Try it, you won't be disappointed. I had the ribeye which came with all the trimmings, no extras (unusual in so many places nowadays) and creme brulee dessert. Clean plates left by me !

Our meal was great; our experience was wonderful because of our fabulous waitress Clare. She not only took care of our lunch needs but was so amazing with our daughter that it elevated the entire experience.

Great food and service. Ahmet was friendly and informed. All round very pleasant visit. This is the second visit in the last 2 months and both were very good. Will be sure to visit again.

We were treated like royalty. Out waiter Ahmet was so funny and helpful , his a credit . We had the butchers block it was the best steak I’ve ever had so thank you to the chef too . We live in Stevenage but we travel to Epping because we have great service there always .

Excellent Experience, the food was delicious and arrived so quickly. What made our experience was our waiter Ahmet who done his absolute best to make sure we had a wonderful experience and went out of his way to accommodate for my two little girls as best he could.

This restaurant is conveniently situated not far from the junction with the M25. Very convenient for business lunches and service was good and timely

Wonderful meal and service was excellent. Both me and my husband had fillet steak- both cooked to perfection! We wanted a steak dinner. Our server was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. The let down was the quality of the steaks. All three were tough and gristly- no wonder they give steak knives to cut them. As a shareholder I was embarrassed.

Very impressed with the restaurant being coeliac friendly. Ahmet our waiter really put my mum to ease when explaining there will be a different chef at another prepping station using only utensils for her meal with no contamination. Our meal was lovely and the service was outstanding from Ahmet. He was a good laugh as well as very professional. Highly recommend.

A while back my car broke down in Epping Forest. My teenage son and I walked for about half a mile to Miller And Carter as there is no mobile reception in the forest. The staff let me use their phone several times to call Green Flag who took some time to come out. The manager then gave us a lift back to my car when Green Flag did arrive. I want to thank the lovely staff for their kindness and wonderful helpfulness. We have been back several times since and always enjoyed our meals there.

Miller and Carter, Epping, is an over-rated (by its chain) Beefeater but at least twice as expensive. It has airs and graces it does not deserve. Receptionist was helpful and so was the waitress but you need a mortgage to buy a drink and leave there still feeling hungry. I would not recommend and I would not go there again.

Took some colleagues for a business meal and had an OK experience. Not spectacular, just OK. Service was a bit slow; the steaks were average. Wouldn't rush back or recommend.

We visited on the 11th of this month for dinner, the first trip out we have had since having out daughter so naturally she was on our mind all night however our server Ahmet made the night so relaxing and rather fun! He had an amazing sense of humor, was very attentive all night and ensured we had everything we needed! So pleased he was our server! Thank you :)

We had lunch using the offer of 2 courses for £17.95. We paid a supplement for steaks which were cooked exactly as requested and were delicious. Delivery of the food a little slow.Disappointing that M&C have their own drinks policy which doesn’t allow under 18’s to have a beer, despite the law allowing it.Overall a satisfactory meal, and waitress was very pleasant.

I was making steak for me and my wife last night, but couldn't get hold of béarnaise sauce anywhere.I called up Miller and Carter Epping, and they kindly agreed to let me get some as takeaway. When I got there, instead of accepting my payment for the sauces, they gave them to me for free!Top service, and very friendly and helpful.Kudos to the Miller and Carter Epping Team, and especially the manager that I was talking to.Thanks!

The service was slow and very unfriendly. Two out of the four of us had the Aberdeen Angus Sirloin which was far too chewy to eat. They were replaced by Rib Eye steaks and were still not great. One of us didn't get our salad wedge before requesting it and one of us had the festive menu with no offer of the included glass of prosecco. A celebration meal that was a great disappointment as we did not all eat together. We did not pay for the steaks as we refused to, but there was not apology to us at the table. Very disappointed as meals here have always been so good. So very upset by all of this.

We had a very filling steak lunch well cooked and received great service from Hava. We felt very comfortable and were not rushed in any way.

We were recommended food and drink from the menu by our waitress Sophie, and she most certainly didn't disappoint.The restaurant was clean, warm, inviting and friendly from the moment we walked in.I would highly recommend visiting this venue and I look forward to my return.

Booked table for 4 Tuesday evening, been lots of times, It's the best.We were greeted by lovely young lady called Mia, fabulous service with a smile through out our evening, Had cocktail as usual fabulous , we all had steak , what can I say it's always great but this time don't know how but was even better . there onion loaf the best then there's the beef dripping gravy , just can't beat any of it. the restaurant has lovely atmosphere, clean , can't fault it. will always go there for my steak, Thank you Mia for making our night enjoyable

There were 18 of us for my 50th birthday lunch. Our waiter AHMET was just fantastic. Not only did he have 18 of us to serve he did not stop smiling, cracking jokes and providing us with the best service. He literally made my birthday lunch because he was so on the ball and gave us 100% service. It can't be easy serving such a big group in one go but AHMET just got on with it and nailed it. The food was lovely, all well presented and tasty.

Four of us visited last Monday and as always steaks were great and cooked well. Very well looked after by our lovely waitress - Hava. Very friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble and always smiling. A great evening all round.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Myself, hubby & 2 adult sons. Haven't been since prior to covid. We had steak & trimmings which was good. The Knickerbocker glory dessert wasn't how I would have expected it. Certainly nothing like Lyons Corner House when it was a treat for 2/6d or maybe 5shillings?!My only negative comment is the onion loaf could have been cooked for longer. It fell apart & wasn't very crispy. Also peas is not mentioned on the menu, but if you ask your server you will get some!

My first visit back to a Miller and Carter in ages. Consider my faith back in the brand restored. Our waitress Martine was brilliant, extremely attentive, we didn’t have to wait for anything. Good quality was OUTSTANDING. Absolutely brilliant and gave me a birthday to remember.

Went here to meet a friend to pick something up then have a bite to eat. I have been going here regular for years and always found it quite friendly. I was in a super good mood and asked if we could have a drink while my friend came, I didn't hear an answer as the smartly dressed woman on reception didn't really speak apart from table service only. She looked like she was in a fowl mood. We sat for about 10 minutes and asked if we could order some drinks. All the staff looked at us really odd, and went off and bought back the unhappy face of reception. She said you cant order a drink here you have to sit there. Now fair enough, but all the tables were set for dinner and didn't really see what they were so upset about. But she was visibly really upset. Now you could say with a nice big smile, " I am really sorry guys, but we are only serving over in that area. Would have been no problem. Anyway this girl had such a filthy attitude, we decided we wasn't going to be treated this way and left. Told her how upset i was at her and she said i don't care. Whoever put this girl in charge should be sacked. I will never go here again and i will advise anyone else to spend their money where its appreciated. If you have to be so miserable what the hell are you doing working in hospitality? We went to the Kings Oak High Beach who couldn't have been happier to serve us. The food there is cracking and good value as well. She did us a favour.

Family dinner for 6, overall we had a great experience, most food and the service was very good. Unfortunately we had to report to the team the very poor quality of the Calamari, deffently not worth £7.25

Firstly our waitress Sophie was amazing she made sure we had everything we wanted remembering who had what ect very friendly from start to finish, also there is an other waitress there who has served us many many times before who remembers us every visit and makes sure she says hello, I wish I could remember her name but she makes us feel very happy to come back each time.The food was tasty and cooked to perfection (if you can order the mozzarella stick “yum”) the deserts are delicious no matter what you pick. The restaurant is very clean and tidy also covid safe.I would and have highly recommend this place not only for the food but the quality of the customer service.See you all soon for an other delicious meal

Without the wonderful waiter Ahmed, this would have been given 1* only.I'll be truthful, it wasn't a bad meal, but they seriously need to teach their chefs about how to cook steaks to the correct request.This is supposed to be an upmarket steak chain. We'll to be totally honest the steaks were edible, but nowhere near how we ordered them.My wife had a Fillet (50 day blackened Angus) requested it rare. It wasn't even served up medium rare. At best it was medium, at worst medium to well done.My steak was a T-bone requested blue received roughly medium (not rare, not medium rare)Now I know we could have both sent the steaks back, but we are very distrusting of sending food back to a kitchen for poor cooking (I won't elaborate as to why, but I'm sure you can draw your own inferences).Now I don't know about you, but both my wife and I both know how we like our steaks. We have no illusions as to the colour of a rare or blue steak, but whoever cooked our steaks, as far as I'm concerned was clueless.As I say, the waiter was excellent, and the various accompaniments were acceptable, but if I go to a Miller and Carter, it's for one thing and one thing only, and in that we were badly disappointed.

Me and my husband celebrate are wedding anniversary we had no reservations but they gave us a table and it was busy. Great food and price not bad. Waitress was very nice and very helpful, the best waiter/waitress I have ever had. (Always smiling)

Dinner last night was excellent! Catered brilliantly for GF needs. We all had different steaks - v good cuts of meat and cooked as asked for. Ahmet our waiter was fantastic - v charming man and made our meal very enjoyable evening out. Kids loved it!! Very enjoyable evening

Our family decided to visit the restaurant after a fab day out, only for this to be completely ruined, specifically by Javid, one of the restaurant’s managers. We asked for alcohol for our 17 year old - as per the law she could have this with us adults - they said no. We didn’t like this policy given it is the law, expressed our upset to the waitress and said we’d raise it to the CEO. The waitress remained calm and didn’t rise to any of our upset although failed to remember to take everyone’s order at the table. I ordered the same drink as the 17 year old was going to have so I suspect the waitress didn’t like this but didn’t say anything. Then the manager came over, rather arrogantly and spoiling for a fight suggesting we had asked to speak to him, we hadn’t. I told him that we understood it was their policy and so if I was to give feedback on the policy it would be to the company (CEO) and not him. This clearly dented his ego so in order to try and get some power back and make himself feel better, he decided to kick us all out by fabricating that I swore at him. What I actually said to my cousins was “what a joke” so I’m not sure what from that he took such offence to. He created a scene in front of the whole restaurant and I have never been so embarrassed in my life. So embarrassed and distressed in fact that it triggered a seizure. I wear a badge to show I have a hidden disability but this didn’t seem to impact on this manager’s ability to behave professionally and appropriately. It even took me asking him 6 times for him to provide his name. When I wanted to confirm his name as I was leaving he ignored me and refused to speak to me. Pathetic. If he genuinely thought I had sworn at him and that he was in the right, he would have no problems giving me his name. Clearly, they were concerned I had ordered the same drink and assumed it was for the 17 years old - it wasn’t and did anything they could in order to kick us out, including lying and fabricating a story. Never in my life have I been kicked out of anywhere. There was no alcohol consumed so this wasn’t a factor and we were a family of 4 adult ladies, a 21 year old lad, and then 4 siblings of: 17, 12, 3 and 4 - we were hardly a threatening bunch yet we were treated like a bunch of criminals. Really, really disappointed.

Had a great family lunch, especially with Ahmet as our server. He was great, thank you for taking special care of us.

We came for my sons 21st birthday as he wanted a good steak. It wasn’t until we tried to place an order that the waitress informed us that there were no T~bones left, or I fact, any 16oz steaks. So very disappointing. Grandma was then informed that she could no longer have the ribs she had ordered as they too, were out of stock. Very poor. Would not recommend or visit again.

My husband and I had lunch here today with our 2 children, aged 4 and 7. The food was wonderful as always and our waiter, Ahmet, outstanding. He made jokes with the children which they loved and checked on us, but not too much. We felt well looked after and not rushed. A great visit and we will be back! Thank you.

This Miller& Carter is my go to restaurant for a variety of reasons. One is that the ambience of the restaurant makes you feel comfortable and relaxed wherever you are sitting. Two is that the service is really quite exceptional staff are always polite , smiling and asking if everything is alright. Today we had a young lady called, Mia, serving us and she explained that we were actually her first table that she was serving. Well I can assure people that Mia is certainly up to the standard I have come to expect. Third the food is always at the level of excellence that I expect when eating out, the steaks are always cooked to perfection and the starters and desserts are equally impressive.

Had a fantastic meal at Miller and Carter Epping. Food was amazing as usual when visiting any Miller and Carter and Cooked exactly as requested.What really made our night was the wonderful service we received from our server Ahmet. He was very attentive, funny and nothing was too much trouble. He is a real asset to the Miller and Carter brand.

I found this place couple of years ago after that I become a fan of this place food is like I can’t explain its so tasty and it’s worth every penny. Friendly staff they always got smile on their faces highly recommended you won’t regret it

this resturant is close by to us so a lunch time meal its ideal we booked a lunch time table we arrived and was given two menus one a fixed price one the orther i take as normal we ordered of the fixed price one to be told what we ordered was not available so on to the normal one the starters was ok ordered steaks they arrived with no chips one lot turned up they where cold the next lot turned up five mintues later if this is the way to serve meals we wont be useing again a lot of money for what it is pub steaks are proably better

We went for an early Fathers Day meal on Friday evening. So impressed by the staff, service and food. We felt very safe, with all social distancing observed. We were served by Grace who was an absolute delight. One of the best staff members I have encountered in hospitality for quite some time. She will go far, what an asset. Very patient and a great attitude. Had a lovely joke or two with my husband and father in law.Food was delicious and served in good time. We didn’t feel rushed and staff were unobtrusive but attentive. We really enjoyed our evening. Thanks to everyone at Miller & Carter but especially Grace.

We were served by a lovely waitress called Grace at Miller and Carter Epping. She was lovely and very attentive to all our needs. I ordered the fish and it was a little bland (needs more seasoning please) but besides that a lovely restaurant with love service.

This is our local Miller & Carter, and can say that we’ve always had a great meal. Ahmet our server was brilliant and had a great sense of humour too. The New York strip steak was perfect & the triple cooked chips were so good.

We always enjoy our visits here, foods always hot and tasty, never have any problems with ordering and everything’s always available. Great choice of food for everyone, even my mother in law who’s a pescatarian enjoys a visit here.

Thank you to Ahmet for our lovely and fun family dinner! Food was excellent and everything was covid safe. Ahmet made sure our children felt special and spoilt and we will be coming back :)
