Had a lovely meal here last night, probably one of the best Indian meals I’ve had. Big portion, had to take some home. Staff were really nice and big shout out to the young waiter who was so professional, he’s a credit to the place and to his parents.

This is the best Indian takeaway we have ever had, we have tried many! Always hot, always amazingly fresh, always plenty of chicken and the quality of the chicken is fantastic, we have had some ropey cheap chicken before from other takeaways but this restaurant never disappoints, also always plenty of sauce, we can’t recommend Mountbatten highly enough, spot on!

My chicken shaslik was the best I have ever had. My niramish was a great side along with a perfectly cook chapati. Honestly faultless. My wife enjoyed her prawn puri and main of Lamb pasanda and very garlic naan bread. Service was excellent and it wasn't as expensive as I expected. This will now be my firm favourite for an Indian eat-in.

Always a great meal, well worth a visit , one of the nicest Indian restaurants in Bishops Stortford .I was lucky enough to visit this place by accident but the quality of the food has brought me back time and again .

I stumbled across Mountbatten one night having been told by friends that it was amazing and the best curry in town! I did wonder, how much better could it be than it's many competitors in Stortford? I had never tried before as it is a little out of the town and I have stayed loyal to my local. However, with the competition fully booked, I managed to secure a place at Mountbatten to give it a try. 8 of us made the trek across town with optimism and we were not disappointed. The food here is absolutely amazing. Great service too! All of my friends keep asking when we are going back.

Called on spec, were soon seated and treated efficiently and effectively. No over attentive staff, the service level just right. Now the food. Bordering on excellent we enjoyed everything we ordered and had in fact ordered things we had never had before, a chance worth taking as it was all fine. Based on today I will certainly return, thank you.

We ordered a take away from this place and unfortunately were very disappointed with the food/service. Our food took an hour longer than expected and arrived cold. We then began to open the food to find a long black hair in the rice. Obviously this was disgusting and very unsanitary. We phoned the restaurant as this cost £50 and we didn’t want to eat any of it. The restaurant told us the best they can offer is to refund the cost of the rice, to which we were appalled. We expressed our disappointment to which they offered us a free rice and beer ‘next time’. Of course there will be no next time as this take away is extremely unhygienic and offer a very poor experience/customer service.

Don’t bother ordering if you want something within the hour ! Food is generally good but so are other places & they should not say a time then deliver an hour later ! Sadly last time we use them

Do not order from here. Granted the food is ok, but they took 2 hours to fulfil my order, then their driver had me on the phone for 20 minutes because he couldn’t read the gps, and when I rang the restaurant they told me I couldn’t cancel, and I should ring them back in half an hour.

Don’t order a takeaway from here if you want it without a considerable delay. I’ve read a couple of reviews complaining that the wait is long through Uber eats or Just Eat. You still consistently have a delay if you telephone or actually go in to pre order. 40 mins minimum in my experience. I did try and order through Just Eat once. Order went through fine. 20 mins later I get a call saying that they won’t deliver to my address. Why let me order then?! Food used to be better but really not worth the hassle now.

Don’t order through Uber Eats or Just Eat from here it’s a 2hr wait! We love the food from here but sadly, every time we’ve ordered through one of the well known food delivery companies the estimated delivery time us NEVER correct and we’ve waited much longer. Wise to this now we ordered at 6:25pm tonight, expecting a longer then usual wait (hour max). At 7:17 the restaurant called to confirm our address. At 8:20 I called the restaurant to find out where our food was. I was told ‘he’d just left’. When I questioned the 2hr wait I was told I should order my dinner at 5pm to ensure quick delivery 😡. I quickly pointed out that at 5pm I don’t want quick delivery- who wants their curry take away on a Saturday at 5:30?! A real shame that Uber eats orders seem to get pushed to the back of the Q. When we’ve ordered direct and gone to collect it’s ready in 30 mins 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ordered delivery at 5.00 pm for delivery at 7.00 pm ( informed would be 7.30, then 8.10) then nothing called 94 times left numerous messages no food now over 2 hours later than requested time No responses to any messages no service will never return to what was a great restaurant

Booking was quite straightforward. On arrival pleased to see separation screens. Initial drinks and food order taken promptly. Subsequent drinks ordered when the food arrived did not come to the table until we had finished eating. The meal tasted very nice but was let down by being luke warm at the table. What could easily have been a good experience was let down by needless mistakes.

Was looking forward to a delicious takeaway but very disappointed with the terrible service and below average food. Ordered a takeaway online, was informed it would take 60 minutes max according to the countdown on the website. Chased by phone after an hour, only to be told it was only just being cooked and a vague apology with no attempt to make amends. 1 hour 25 minutes later, food arrives and was bland and tasteless - waste of money. Never ordered from here before and won’t again!

First meal out since lockdown. I cannot believe how sumptuous our meal was. The service excellent, the menu a little different to many standard Indian restaurants. The quality of the cooking was second to none. Fresh and cooked to precise quality levels.

As usual the take away was fantastic, food is delicious and came within a reasonable time. For online orders the website is very easy to use and also tells you how long the delivery will be. Highly recommend!!

We have been ordering a wonderful Indian from You as soon as takeaways were aloud and i must say we have had wonderful Hot Food each time , Prompt delivery , perfect service . We booked a table for my mums birthday at 7pm on a Friday night. When we got there the restaurant was almost empty. We ordered our food by 7.10pm and nearly an hour later we were still waiting for our food with no communication on why we were still waiting. We know why, we saw loads of food leave the kitchen but it was all takeaways leaving those of us who had booked in advance and come to the restaurant waiting for a lot longer. The waitress was rushed off her feet and did apologise but even after saying she would tell her manager we never had any further apologies and just the bill brought to us.A real shame because the food (when it did come) was hot and delicious but the service was distinctly lacking. They need to prioritise those in the restaurant and perhaps take less takeaway orders if they can’t cope!

As a regular customer, I was so disappointed to be served two seriously poor dishes as takeaways. The Chicken Mysori was beyond Madras hot and was barely edible and the Chicken Tikka Bhuna had very little flavour. We have eaten both these dishes before at the Mountbatten and found them to be tasty and succulent - not this time. So what is going wrong? Unsure whether to return.

So upon arrival we sat down as usual ordered some poppadoms, baring in mind we ordered 10 for 4 people we still only got as many dips as you would if you ordered 3/4.Took 25 mins to get drinks orders through, half an hour after that we still didn’t have food menus. The young server came over and asked if we had ordered. Seen as he was the one serving us I find it pretty hard to understand how he couldn’t know that we were still waiting for menus. Around an hour and 15 later our food arrives, not bad food, I’ve had better. We then came to find a hair in the bhaji’s to which we complained Just before getting the bill that the service was poor and we had a hair in our food. The guy said ok I’ll remove the charge for this, although this came free with my friends meal. They were rude and said, it’s only a bhaji which fair enough yes it is JUST a bhaji, but it’s JUST your restaurant I’m eating at so sort it out. Huge battle to get a discount and after all we settled for £12 off which was dissapointing to say the least. And to top it all off, the decor looks like a premier inn. Awful Never again,

Me and my family often go to The Mountbatten as it’s the local Indian, and it never fails to disappoint. The food is always fantastic, the staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is always nice. I have tried many Indian restaurants in many different places and this restaurant still comes on top for me. Would 100% recommend!

Went with family last night , best curry I had in a long time. The service was excellent too . The South Indian garlic was amazing nice texture of flavours . Would definitely come back again .

Visited this restaurant twice over the past couple of weeks. Wide selection of dishes on the menu, and the food was lovely and fresh. Good service and would return again.

Whet to this restaurant last month with some friends I have been eating Indian food for the last 40 years all over the world but this must be the worst meal I have ever had no taste to any of the food very poor service and the noise in there was so bad we could not here ourselves talk .will not be back there are some very good Indian restaurants in this area .

We are local people and started going to Mountbatten in December. The food is really good, the surroundings are modern and clean and staff are very professional. There’s ample parking which is a big bonus too.

Maybe it was the items we ordered, but this time we found the food underwhelming. All seemed to be lacking in flavour and under spiced. No issues with service, however.

Booked for Friday evening at peak time. Shown to our table and food and drinks order placed in good time. All had various starters lamb shish, onion bhajis, somosas and tikka all nicely presented. Mains were vibrant and full of flavour with just the right degree of spice be it accommodating a dansak served madras hot or mild. All the dishes were of substantial portion size and the bill was reasonable. We have been here many times and this ranks among the best around the area. We will be back for more.

As a family, we have dined with the Mountbatten for around 7 years. Be it Midweek, take away or the excellent Sunday buffet, the quality is consistently high. In all dishes, you can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients, the menu is interesting with some excellent specials - all at reasonable prices, Have tried all other Indian restaurants in the area, including some of the more expensive competition but still prefer the honesty of the cooking at the Mounbatten.

I love Indian food and have eaten in many restaurants over the years...The Mountbatten is right up there with the best, original and interesting menu, delightful staff and would easily highly recommend it. I went for a smoked duck starter and Lamb and aubergine main, truly delicious !

My first experience at this restaurant will probably be my last. Friday (19/10/18) night and there were very few other diners. Background music was very, very quiet so it was really lacking any ambience. Although there seemed ample staff working, service was very slow and when I asked "how hot is the Madras?" was simply told "fairly hot" (I knew this from the description on the menu). This place is described as 'elegant and upmarket' but the decor, furnishing and styling of this restaurant put me in mind of a Little Chef, it's that basic. Staff need to smile a bit and be more attentive generally. The food was decent but no better than I've had elsewhere. I'm not sure what would tempt me back.

Perfection is the best way to describe this restaurant From entering the restaurant you are given a warm welcome. The surroundings are very good and above all, the food is superb No hesitation in recommending this restaurant and will certainly use it again

The food was very good, no complaints about the service and the total price was very acceptable too. Disappointed about the local rumours that the restaurant is due to be closed and reopen as a Tesco. Hoping it’s untrue.

Lovely food and a wide range of good options, my sea bass was delicious. Good size portions. My partner commented on the generosity of the lamb. Staff were efficient but there was no warmth or friendly service and that probably contributed to the slightly sterile feeling in the place. Would go back for the food. Hopefully the staff might smile and respond when you try and chat to them.

After looking at the reviews on trip adviser we decided to give the restaurant a visit, well we weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and weren't over barring, service was excellent and the menu choice was quite extensive with dishes I've never seen before so some experimenting had to be done.When the starters arrived we were blown away buy the quality and portion size. Not too long await before the mains arrived and again the quality and use of spices was excellent, It wasn't all about the heat of the chilli's but a well balanced dish nothing bland on the table at all. I would recommend the calamari piri piri starter, it is quite big but very flavoursome and all the chefs recommendations sound very tasty. We had a selection of them and again not disappointed at all, we will definitely become regular visitors although we live about an hour's drive from the restaurant but it is well worth the travel.

OMG What Can We Say ? This Place is Amazing Everytime we go The Staff are spot on . The Food Is ALWAYS Perfect , Cooked to perfection and Just as we ask it . Ali Always gives us ideas. I try to eat healthy so he helps me to order the right ingredients in the dish and explains exactly what’s good for me , Even if they get busy times no problem at all , Now how many Restaurants bother to do that for you.

I visited this restaurant with friends (nine of us) and again everyone loved their food. I choose this Restaurant when my friends travel from far and wide, as happened on this occasion. There is ample parking and this is a real bonus. The food, as ever, was to a very high standard...............and there was plenty of it. The service was very professional without being intrusive.

Visited yesterday for a Birthday celebration with partner/ friends to try their Sunday buffet and it did not disappoint ! We ordered spicy and regular poppadoms and chutneys ( which we were charged separately for ).Special mention goes to the delicious coconut chutney, not had at any other Indian restaurant. Then we were served our starters which we had not ordered and was a nice surprise as we expected to help ourselves to these at the buffet table. We each enjoyed a combination of chicken tikka, an onion bhaji, meat samosa and salad. Then it was off to the buffet for a choice of pilau rice, bombay potato, vegetable curry, chicken tikka masala, chicken dopiaza and a lamb curry. All very tasty and fresh. When we sat back down with our food some fresh naan breads had appeared which was a nice touch. It was fairly quiet, service was attentive, just a shame they shut at 3pm on Sundays. Great value at £9.95 per head and easy parking plus pleasant interior.

Really enjoyed dinner at The Mountbatten! The service was good and the food delicious. Generous portions, and everything very tasty. Only lost a star as I wish we had been given the under-plate warmers to keep our dishes warmer.

I came here a few years ago but was rather worse for wear so didnt remember much,but this time we came i was really happy with the food and service from the lady,had duck tikka to start, and because they didnt do my usual pathia dish,we opted for the punjab chicken which was really nice,good portions and tasty food

I've been here every month since it opened and have never had a less than brilliant curry.Yes its not the type of red flocked wallpaper curry house but theres parking, it's spacious inside and the menu is comprehensive and reasonably priced.Its the only Indian in Stortford which serves the wonderful coconut relish with pappadum and the chicken tikka dansak is to die for.A special mention for the lovely waitress who greets you like a long lost friend, remembers whats going on in your life and is a genuinely warm person.

A very sterile environment for an Indian restaurant. Felt like I was back in the 80's .... Food was bland, overly oily and rubbery... like it had been cooked for lunch service and left on the side.... not what I expect from an Indian restaurant... and for the price I paid... Plus the waiters hover around you far too much... put me off my food. I felt rushed... not the kind of feeling I want after a week at work.;!!"

This was my favourite Indian restaurant in Bishop's Stortford until the Blue Elephant opened but the Mountbatten is still good and reliable for food quality and service and the best option if you need somewhere to park.

Having driven past this restaurant hundreds of times I was expecting a rather old fashioned Indian restaurant. But it is modern and tastefully decorated, the food is excellent and very good value and the staff, particularly Monica, are lovely. We will definitely be visiting again.

It was very easy to make reservation at the day of arrival. If they are not answering phone, just fill form on their website and they are calling back to confirm. Huge menu covering also Pakistani dishes. We (4 of us) ordered 2 starters, 2 side dishes, rice, 2 naans, 4 mains and 4 poppadoms. Paid 92 with drinks (includes beer and wine) in Saturday evening. Very nice staff. Very efficient. Reasonable prices. Great food. We didn't manage to eat mains as they are so big like for two to share.

We arrived at 12.20pm (advertised to open at noon) and the restaurant was not ready yet as the lights were low and it was a bit cold. We were first in. We decided to go for the buffet to have a quick meal. The starter served was excellent. Afterwards the buffet was not ready and we had to wait until 12:55pm to be able to finally help our selves. The food was very good. I find buffet food usually lower quality but if it was served as a main I would have been satisfied. There was a choice of about 5 curries and pilau rice. Each buffet meal came with naan bread as well. The staff were friendly and I would happily go again.

Have driven passed here a number of times, and the carpark has always been busy, therefore last night we thought we'd give it a try. Nice decor, warm welcome, good service, and better cuisine than your average Indian restaurant. If I have any complaint it is that the flavours were a bit bland. Probably they appeal to the majority of diners, however if something is described as hot then it should have a bit of heat to it. We will likely return when dining with friends who we know do not like their curries hot. Prices are reasonable.

Recently visited with family who were with us for weekend. We booked this restaurant on a Saturday night after some recommendations. Very disappointing evening. Restaurant empty at 9p.m on a Saturday (not their fault as it was holiday season) but the quality of the food was very poor.We have always used other curry houses in Stortford for eating out and delivery and will stick to those in future

There are so many restaurants to chose from in Stansted that we'd never previously ventured to the Mountbatten, which is on the back road to Bishops Stortford.But finding that the Three Horseshoes in Hazel End was fully-booked (must phone ahead next time!) we decided it was an ideal time to make our maiden visit to the Mountbatten.On Mondays to Wednesdays there is a fixed price menu which offers a starter, main course, side dish, and either a naan or rice for £13.95 (it's £10.95 if you don't want a starter).There's plenty to choose from on the menu - so long as you aren't looking for fish including numerous Chef's Specials. As it was our first visit and we had friends with us, we decided to go the whole hog (or rather the whole chicken) and have starters.Chicken Chat was excellent, Chicken Tikka was very moist, and the Onion Bhajis were crisp and tasty. One of our companions decided to try the Shami Kebab and seemed very pleased.For main courses we went for the Lamb Jalfrizi, Chicken Rogon Josh, and Chicken Korma (I can't remember what the 4th dish was). The side dishes chosen were Onion Bhaji, Bombay Potato, Sag Bhaji, and Vegetable Curry - the Sag Bhaji comes with chickpeas, but only a few, so don't be put off if it's the spinach you're really after.The Garlic Naans were excellent, and the Lemon Rice was interesting - as for the Boiled Rice, well it was boiled and it was rice, what more can I say? One of our number thought he should order a Tandoori Roti as well - as we all predicted he couldn't finish his meal, so he won't over-order next time.Lots of whole chillis in the Jalfrizi - it certainly justified its "hot" rating - and we all enjoyed our meal so much that we vowed to go back again soon. The meal came to about £85 for the four of us including 6 Poppadoms and two rounds of drinks; the service was friendly and efficient, so we had no hesitation about leaving a tip.There weren't many people eating when we arrived at 8pm and hardly anyone arrived after that, so that by the time we left at 10.30 the restaurant was almost deserted. It's surprising given the excellent value!

Food is fine. Better than average for Indian but not special. Tried it after winning a £10 voucher at a fete. They wouldn't accept it as one of the group had chosen from the discounted menu. Disappointing. Also poor business sense as we will not return.

A group of us all chose different dishes, but when these were shared it was difficult to detect any difference. The venue is out of town but benefits from a large car park.

This was our 2nd time at this restaurant, both times buffet lunch and both times spur of the moment. It may not look much from the outside but once you have got past the slightly unwelcoming exterior you'll be pleasantly surprised. The restaurant and facilities are very clean and modern but not too in-your-face. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very attentive, but again, not too in-your-face, they weren't hovering over your shoulder waiting to whisk your plate away as you mop up the last of the Masala sauce!! The quality of the food was also perfect and the reason for visiting the buffet table wasn't in a need to get your monies worth but more a sign of appreciation for the exceptionally tasty dishes. This is a great little stop-off and would suit all types of lovers of Indian cuisine from the mild curry beginner to the hard core spice lover!

When we fancy an Indian meal now the Mountbatten is our no 1 choice. Real flavours, well presented in a lovely restaurant. The midweek fixed price menu is cracking value, butt the A la cart is varied and good quality. We tried it once and now keep going back.

Very rare that we have a curry as some of the family are not keen, but we decided to treat ourselves, and we weren't disappointed. Food was ready on time, well packaged, and tasted amazing. The best Indian restaurant in the area!

Mountbatten is my go-to Indian - amazing food and amazing service. Pretty much always have the chicken tikka masala but I've never had a bad dish there.

Our visit was absolutely spot on! Amazing food, helpful and friendly service. Madras was the best one I've eaten in a while. We will be back.

The food at this restaurant was very bland and the service was simply awful. I had to ask twice for everything from drinks to even the bill. The worst part by far though was the manager who took our order. I asked if i could have a chicken dhansak with some vegetables in it. He said no. I said please could you ask the chef if he could put some vegetables in and that I was happy to pay extra. He said no he wouldn't and shrugged his shoulders. I said could I have a vegetable dhansak he said yes so I asked if he could put chicken in it as well! He said no he couldn't. I laughed and said so you make a chicken or a vege dish but you won't add the two together even though it's a very simple request and every other Indian restaurant I have been to have never had a problem doing this. He shrugged his shoulders again so I told him he was very inhospitable, rude and were it not for the fact I was with someone else I would have left right then. He shrugged again! AVOID THIS RESTAURANT THERE ARE PLENTY OF MICH BETTER INDIANS IN BISHOPS STORTFORD WHO WILL VALUE YOUR CUSTOM. Disgraceful.

Got a takeaway from here for first time. Very average and similar to all other Indian restaurants in area.

Average food, very greasy . Do not order the chicken korma as the recipe is nothing like it should be and is just laced with coconut , no yogurt or original spices.

Visited again on a Friday evening with friends. Had no trouble booking a couple of days in advance although the restaurant was quite busy on arrival.Our orders were taken and popadoms arrived quickly, although the mains took a little longer. The food was good and in generous portions, as always. Some of our party couldn't finish their meals but the staff were happy to put it into a container for us to take away. Even though the restaurant was busy, the staff were in no rush to move us on - we sat chatting for at least an hour after finishing which was nice.

From the moment they open the door with a warm welcome ,you walk in and feel like King and queen , we are here every week eating and choose a Monday and then sometimes Saturday also and can REALLY say this place is amazing , peaceful , we choose Monday thinking it a little less busy perfect , we try many restaurants in many places and this place beats any of them hands down for value ,taste , service , hospitality , Never ever had a problem food Its wonderful Oh and the Chicken is the best we have ever had ,they only ever want to please ,do we recommend it 100% Yes thank you all so very much tonight , see you next week xxx Barry xElaine

Took out friends for Sunday Buffet, very disappointed with the quality and flavour of food. The food was very bland for an Indian restaurant. No atmosphere, poor service.

Arrived around 9.45 and was fairly busy. Ordered drinks and poppadoms. Drinks took a while to arrive. We ordered starters to begin with, lamb samosas, vegetable samosas, onion bajis etc .. All was really nice and freshly cooked. However these did take a while to arrive at least an half hour, at this point the restaurant wasn't as busy due to the time and people already left at this point. After we ordered our mains, tika masala, vegetable dansak, vindaloo, chapati bread, coconut rice. I recommend the coconut rice if you like peswari nann bread it has a really similar taste. This also took a while to arrive at least half hour again or maybe more, but at this point we were the last people in the restaurant. Overall the food was really nice and we have been a few times I do recommend this indian.

Visited this evening with Mum. What a great experience. Fresh authentic food, good wine, exceptional hospitality. Our waitresses Monica was superb took the time out to speak to us and find out how we were, it's very rare to find a waitress who takes pride in her service and customer etiquette. The owner was pleasant and took the time out to speak to us also.The food was well presented and tasted as good as it looked, plenty of meat in the mains with exceptional quality. I shall return.

This used to be the Red White and Blue pub but the transformation into an Indian restaurant is most impressive. Outside looks the same, as is the car park, but inside is modern although the wood flooring affects the noise level.Living in the Glasgow area (where curry shops are great) I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The service was good and the prices OK. I like hot curries and had Nega Lamb but this was only Madras hot and I would have preferred it hotter.Next time when I am in Bishop's Stortford I will be happy to go to the Mountbatten again.

A place that has shown consistency in both food and service. The head chef has some options on the menu which shows some diversity from the usual fare is Indian restaurants. All the favorites are on the menu. Should you want a variation they are always happy to help out.

No complaints about the food, which was exceptionally good.Saturday night was busy, and the car park was a bit chaotic, but an enjoyable visitThe only slight negative was that the service slow; after poppadums the main course took an hour, although as stated previously ,It was very good.

My second visit to this restaurant, and it was simply lovely. I was there with a reunion of friends and had a table for 8 people. Everyone had different dishes and at the end there was empty plates on the table! everyone enjoyed themselves. This is a large restaurant but it is very nice inside. There is ample parking outside and the staff were excellent.

The food is great can not fault it. Service is good and staff friendly. One issue is that the resturant has no soft furnishings and only hard noise reflecting surfaces including the floor . The consequence is that the environment can get loud especially with larger groups competing to be heard. Not ideal for a quiet romantic meal or even discussions at normal sound levels

We wanted to try something new so we decided to check out this Indian restaurant in Bishop's Stortford.We went for the Menu B (which I think you can choose from Monday-Thursday) it's for £12.95 and comes with a Starter, Main, Side dish & rice or Nan. I loved the Kumar and the coconut rice but it was just too much food. Next time we will only take a main ... Service was good and you can park outside which is nice too.

good atmosphere in the out of town Indian restaurant. Food is excellent and the service is very attentive. They offer a Sunday buffet and also a takeaway service. Recommended

We love the Mountbatten and come here fairly often. We had the midweek menu which is reasonable. My husband always has the chicken tika starter. The poppadums and chutneys are delicious and our main courses generous and delicious. The service is always good. The interior is modern and bright, this is not an average curry house it has a real sense of making food properly. I would recommend this restaurant highly.

A party of 6 staying at the yew tree in Manuden before an early flight found all the pubs stopped doing food at 2100, one pub recommended this Indian and all 6 of us couldn't believe out luck. The decor is lovely, clean contemporary modern and the staff very attentive. The food however is the star and didn't disappoint every one of us loved our food and the quality and quantity was fantastic. I would warn though that I like hot spicy so asked for my dhansak to be madras hot and I would say it was more vindaloo hot, my fault but I ate every bit of it just the same. The amount of chicken in each dish was also generous, well done to you all a superb Indian that I will return too if I'm next in the area before a flight from Stansted.

Nice meal at a reasonable price .Chose a Persian meal for the wife and she was well pleased.The staff were helpful, service quick ,the place very comfortable.

Arriving back from a long journey, i was hoping to catch the buffet lunch before closing....no worried here...they serve til 3.30..Starters are served...chiken tikka, samosa and a spring roll on a crunchy salad.Mains of mixed veg, potato curry, chicken and spinach, chicken tikka massala and a rich lamb curry in fragrant dark sauce...served with pilau rice, more salads and fresh naan breads.Not a spot of oil in the dishes which all had individually spiced sauces.I only visited the buffet once, though encouraged to revisit by the staff!Less than £10.00....tremendous value.

use the Mountbatten from time to time and it's definitely the best food and service in town (and surrounding villages). Service always impeccable and never had any complaints on the food. Highly recommended

Having been here before in March we came again with friends. Service very slow I had to go to bar after 1 hour to ask for our order to be taken. Also again to the bar to ask for wine and water.Food was good but no one came to offer desserts or coffee or more drink. We were there for over 3 hours and would have ku had more to eat or drink. We had to chase for the bill and we asked for a couple of containers obtained to take food away. However they poured it all into 2 containers mixed so 2 vegetarians in the party had their food mixed with meat. I did say we wanted to fill the containers ourselves.Manager bought complimentary Tia Maria each but it was all very embarrassing for me who had said how nice it was.Lots of staff but all washing up and clearing behind the bar. They need to be more aware of the customers waiting.

Firstly I would point out that I do not recognise the address given in one of your previous reviews but certainly this restaurant is now at Rye Street and has been for some considerable time to my knowledge. In any event, my wife and I visit therefrom time to time and we had dinner on the 30th June. The restaurant is kept to a very high standard of cleanliness and the service always courteous and helpful and normally quite prompt. The food from quite an extensive menu of above average standard - one of my favourites the King Prawn Korma!, washed down with their draft Cobra Beer! I personally prefer the Beer rather than wine when taking Indian food but there is a reasonable wine list. Pricing reasonable and a restaurant that can be safely recommended.
