Buffalo Joe's in East Hertfordshire

Bought a few wings from here a couple days ago as a quick snack as I was starving and I ve heard many people say they do amazing wings. But sorry to say the wings were really oily and nasty! I couldn’t believe that a place on 4.3 star with 177 reviews tastes like that!! Also can’t believe people say its nice, I would even want them for free honestly speaking. Avoid!

The chicken wings smell bad and not fresh at all! There are far better places in cambridge! I think wing brothers is far better and think they take the top spot in Cambridge!

Honestly, the best buffalo wings you’ll get your hands on in all of East Anglia. Joe, the man himself, is a lovely and friendly lad - prepares the wings with 100% consistency and the best sauces with em! If the van is in your town, what are you waiting for?

I’ve heard about Buffalo Joe and decided to visit before it will be shut. Food was delicious, but not worth money if we talk about portion size

Truly disappointed. Waited two hours for a take away that arrived cold- chips not properly cooked and dips forgotten.

Came here today for lunch. Was really nice. Tried 3 different types of wings, full of flavour and really tasty. The cheese burger and fries were good too. Nice atmosphere, Staff were lovely as well. Will definitely be coming back.

Hullumi burger was delish, not so sure about the chicken thigh burgers.

Chicken tenders were greasy, full of batter and no chicken … tasted grim , KFC would be better next time… shame as used to be a good place.

You must try the Double Joey Smash burger and Korean fries.

So disappointed. We’ve been coming here for a low key, relaxing family treat from 20 miles away for years. Even came here the night before we dropped oldest off at Uni. Today was terrible. Chicken burgers didn’t really have much chicken in; slaw was non existent, kitchen service was defensive ( understandably maybe as he hadn’t been provided the ingredients). Goodbye buffalo Joe’s… you were a fave but we won’t be coming back..

Nearly 90 minutes for delivery with a soggy burger, no salt on the chips and even a napkin provided. Very expensive for just one meal. Do not make my mistake of ordering here. Especially as I’m pregnant and diabetic.

Wow what a gem! Absolutely loved it! Best chicken burger, wings and loaded chips we've ever had. Reasonably priced, filling, and didn't have to ask for extra sauce, as they actually loaded them! Plus, they do 'neck oil' on tap! Highly recommend

Disgusting food. Always wrong. Cold and soggy. Manager/owner is rude and never helps. I would avoid this place guys; not worth spending your hard earned money.

Food is great, every Wednesday if you buy 10 wings you get 10 free. This can mean a long wait for food but definitely worth it. TV screens so football is on for some games. Highly recommended.

Over priced and expensive for what it is, chicken wings.

Really disappointed! Known this restaurant 2years ago, it was always our family’s favorite place. But look how tiny those chicken wings are! Most of them even short than my pinky. Understand economic inflation, but I rather pay more instead of not enjoying my food! A year ago, the chicken wings were already getting smaller but still acceptable, so we still came. But today, the size has gone done so much than they pretty much can’t even count as CHICKEN wings

First time eating there last night. Chips portions very good, even for the kids. Must admit the burger I had was very tasty. Really juicy, cooked perfectly. Will definitely return.

First time at eating here and have to say the food was delicious, the grandkids said that the chicken wing were the best they’d ever had. The service was excellent! Would highly recommend this place.

Been here a few times, usually very good, today however my burger was hard, like rock, wings were flavourless, but the fries were nice. Told the waitress who in turn told the kitchen. Nothing but a nasty glare came my way, no one asked what was wrong and why I wasn’t happy. Very poor service.

As a Canadian I've always been disappointed with the poor quality of hot wings in the UK. Happily Buffalo Joe's has served up fantastic wings! It was like a little taste of home munching down on decent wings for the first time in years ❤️

Hands down one of my favourite places to eat in Bishop’s Stortford! My absolute favourites are the Korean wings and the satay fries! Just wish they still opened during the day so I could go for lunch as well as getting takeaway! Haha

Great food, really good portions and very tasty. Good background music choice but just not enough atmosphere for what could be a really quirky little place.

Zac and harry were brilliant cooks! Perfectly seasoned food very delectable highly recommend will definitely be the new place to go!

Have been wanting to try Buffalo Joes for a while now but don’t live in the area and always seem to miss the food truck in its rounds. The big solid doors and high windows are in my opinion, a bit daunting which might have contributed to be there being only two other tables with customers at them. Also the menu board outside was empty of a menu. The service was efficient. On to the food. The chicken strips came up in an enamel pie dish and looked very appealing however the meat was very dry. The same could be said of the chicken burgers. Very dry and over cooked chicken. But a good flavour from the Korean sauce and slaw. The fries with their additional roping were delicious. The food and the establishment lacked the oomph to make it great.

Firstly the food is great. But you need to improve with ordering system or what system you’re using, I’ve ordered here 6 times in past few months thru go getters and visited the store 3 times and brought friends and family with…… how ever tonight I made an order … I wait an hour for go getters to call me and say “ they have run out of food” like lol what… why accept my order if you cant stick to it….. like i get the food is good and everyone likes it but still not on really, should only advertise you're open for deliveries if you are… not take my money and make me wait an hour (all other places are closed) to tell me no… l o l

The food is delicious and even though I understand the business thinking behind dividing the fries from the burger it's unfair. However the service was terrible while I was there, I needed to go at the counter in order to complete my order multiple times, and parts of my order were still forgotten.

This place is always overbooked yet half-empty. The staff are painfully slow and unhelpful. The opening hours are unreliable. Ordering online requires hours. Basically a horrendously managed good recipe.

Service has deteriorated somewhat . Made a reservation , arrived , asked to scan a QR code . Website was very slow and not the easiest to navigate around . We struggled ordering while the bar & kitchen staff joked around laughing . Spent 15 mins then gave up and left . Ended up in Pircios close by and were treated properly .

Delicious beef burger. Although we hadn't booked they were accommodating and let us sit at the bar. Also few tables didn't turn up for their bookings :( so worth a try if you haven't booked!

Nice place to eat and the environment is good, but we had a large order which all got served at the same time with some meals being cold.

Normally a decent meal however visited last night and the food was freezing.. cold chicken wings with cold sauce.. overcooked, cold bacon burger with no bacon.. service was good, shame on the food!

Very good but could do with an Ale selection or Guinness plus 0.0 ales, cheers.

Best burgers and wings in town! Most amazing vegan wings I’ve ever had - the Satay and Korean ones are bloody banging. Burgers went down a treat with my parents so I think it’ll be our new go-to takeaway. Thanks Buffalo Joe’s!

Great intimate restaurant serving honest, lovely tasting, value for money food. Had the wings/burger combo with a side of fries and a drink. Service was brilliant. Don't take my word for it!!

The amount of sickly sauce drenching everything was too much , sadly it was really inedible after a few mouthfuls I couldn’t eat it , 2 drinks and 2 Lunches was £45 , very expensive and bad quality frozen chips also the teenager making the food was eating the chips in the kitchen while making our lunch 🤢

Usually love this place, however we ordered a delivery via go getters and they put Bacon in the veggie burger and didn't send some of the food, when we complained we were told to go getters? no real apology and said rather than deliver the missing items they would just refund the missing food? Cost of living has increased look after your customers better.

Hate to leave this review, but i put An order in at 1750 and here we are at 2040 And yet to recieve. The food is always great but ive always had to jump through hoops to get it. 3 hours tonight and 2 hours plus almost every other order is just too far.

The food was ok, but a bit overpriced. Service was good with friendly staff and food appeared quickly. Clean toilets. Car park nearby.

As a Gluten Free diner, this place accommodates the requirement. I had a beef burger and loaded fries which were amazing. Highly recommended.

Nice food it seems to have brought its prices up since moving from e17. Dishes seem more or less the same and recommend rhe chicken wings. Service seemed slow with young staff and I had to go up to the till myself a couple of times place was too hot and could do with some fans at least would go back as food so tasty but desserts very expensive for what you get.

First time visiting, greatly located in centre of town . Delicious juicy flavored burgers, many to choose from , lots of sauce and fries options Friendly staff and great restaurant vibe.

Excellent wings and lovely staff. Called ahead o see if they were still serving food past 8:30pm and they were happy to accommodate. The best wings in Stortford hands down, we had the Honey G wings, BBQ wings and shared buffalo fries. Definitely recommend anything from the menu

The most amazing buffalo and Korean wings! No wonder they both won awards at Wingfest! The pickled chick and the Joey Smash burgers are divine and the Peanut Butter Pie and Chocolate brownies are out of this World. The restaurant is a fun and funky atmosphere suitable for any occasion and for anyone. Kids, adults and large group bookings. The staff are very warm and friendly and the cocktail/drinks menu is unique.

I'm not normally vegan but I was doing meat-free Mondays so decided to give the vegan wings a try and they were a revelation. A great option and banging sauces. The hot satay was a bit spicy for me but if you like heat then you'll love it, everyone in the group said it was bang on. I loved the Korean BBQ, buffalo sauce and of cause the blue cheese dip. Cool place, nice big portion of chips, a great pale ale on tap, I forget what its called, and a good selection of deserts. 5 stars.

So where do I start! This place is amazing! Really cool vibe, great music. The Service was excellent who catered to all my needs. I’ll save the best till last…….. the food WOW. I got a Joey smash which melted in my mouth and had half buffalo with blue cheese from Heaven. Then finished it off with satay fries which were perfectly crispy. If your in the area you must go! I can’t wait to go back again! Maybe even tomorrow!

Food freshly prepared. Large choice included vegan and veg options. Mild to very spicy choices so caters to all palates. The pudding/desserts are divine. Fun relaxed atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful especially a chap called Sam. We will visit again

Went there for lunch on a Friday, there is a lunch menu burger and chips for £10, burger is quite big, buffalo chicken burger is spicier than I expected, chicken wings are actually quite tender, service is average, overall not too bad.

I first tried the Buffalo Joes van in Cambridge, and it was so good that we made the drive to Bishops Stortford to the restaurant. Great service, good, cosy restaurant and the burgers and the Korean BBQ wings are very nice. We will be going back.

must have been an “off day” as we booked this table on the hoof forty five mins before turning up to then have a very, very average first time experience. restaurant wasn’t that warm & neither were the staff, who seemed keener to look at their tablets that meet & greet us. long time to waiting for the food & the waitress who delivered it hadn’t got a clue as to which meal was which either, so we had to guess by tasting ourselves. what a shame.

Food was unbelievable!! Can’t fault it to be honest, just everything was lovely!! Just make sure you book, is a small place and gets very busy very quick!!

First time here, menu didn't really do justice to the food. Really tasty great value for money. Seating was spacious, highchairs for children. Loved the food was served on a tray with paper. Staff were friendly and cheerful. My only gripe would be to have chunky chips instead of fries. They would be nicer with the sauces. Other than that I would totally recommend.

This is, hands down, the best chicken burger I have ever eaten. I always order chicken burgers and have had them up and down the country but this burger is honestly the BEST I have EVER had. The rest of the food is just as good as well - I cannot recommend them enough. We travelled all the way from Cambridge after being regular visitors of the food park van to go to the restaraunt and were not disappointed. Staff were lovely, food was served quickly and hot, great portion sizes and good value for money. A must visit - go go go! We will be back soon!

Had a terrible experience ordering for first time, we ordered platter of chicken wings and two sides of fries. Everything arrived absolutely cold, chicken was chewy. Phoned them back, staff told me they will contact delivery to ask why food arrived cold and contact me right away. Definitely not worth the money.

Awful experience, found a hard bit of plastic in our food, that was actually bit into and cut the gum . They offered to refund for the food that the plastic was found in, said I was not happy with this, still waiting to be contacted. The attitudes was appalling, admitted it was plastic from one of there bottle. So disappointed and would never recommend or go back. Gave one star as leaving none wasn’t possible

A-MAZ-ING... Loved everything about this place! Food was incredible and so tasty, best veggie burger ever! Hubby had a beef burger combo which he loved and the kids really enjoyed their chicken strips! Great choice of drinks, lovely waitress... No complaints, will definitely be back... Soon!

Below average from these guys this evening. Usually great burgers but not up to their normal standard unfortunately. The worst part was the fries 🤬🤬. I order the loaded fries and tried to remove something which couldn't be done. Rather than refund etc I opted for just plain fried but please could we have extra. When they turned up the box even said extra, sweet..... The chef must have done the opposite as box was half empty certainly not extra. Yes it's just fries but at £5.80 it's just ridiculous. Dissapointed to say the least.

Delicious wings. Have been here a couple of times now and both times the food has been perfect. The service is a bit slow, but it's worth it for the wings. My sister had the chicken burger and she said it was amazing as well. Love the buffalo wings. Oh and Sundays is buy one get one free on wings!

First time here but certainly not the last. Top notch wings. I had a take away and they provided the buffalo sauce separately to coat myself! Great idea as the wings kept super crispy ! We had the buffalo and Korean wings a beefburger and honey g fries Chips maybe had a little too much sauce on them but were excellent. Chicken was top notch Already planning my next visit to try more of the menu !!
