Very poor sadly. Every just seems to be here because they have to be . No service no smiles no gratitude no welcome or thanks .all seem to waiting to go home. Shame beef eater used to be a place you could bring them family and know not so much. Staff seem like they are doing you a favour by serving you

It took a long time for us to even have our drinks orders taken and then again to take our meal orders, when the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Our waiter was really lovely and helpful though which helped. The meals were a bit disappointing, namely the steaks not being cooked correctly and the mushrooms were as dry as anything, as if they’d been cooked this morning and left under a heat lamp to go leathery looking. Overall it was an ok meal

Had a meal there on Saturday 22.2.25 . Had a mixed gril and the ribeye steak. Both cooked perfectly, no complaints, would go there again but not as often ,as now we have to travel as our regular one is shut.

Awful Sunday Roast dinner, lukewarm and the roast potatoes were like charcoal, small and flat with no potato inside!! Completely tasteless and bland. Had to send back both dinners and were given a refund! I ordered Steak Diane with fillet steak but they had run out of sauce which I wasn’t told about until my dinner was put in front of me and I had to call the waitress over to show her the awful, fatty steak. Food was lukewarm again and considering fillet steak is the best, it was chewy and fatty and I couldn’t eat one half of it. Waitress was apologetic but I said I would like to show the Manager the food but she said she couldn’t find the Manager but had showed the Chefs and kitchen staff the returned food. Very short staffed, not the waitresses fault, but this Beefeater needs to improve its food and service.

We only went here because we had a voucher. Would normally avoid as last few experiences not been great. First we were sat by the doors and it was freezing. Had to leave coat on. Waiting staff very forgetful. Had to keep reminding them of things I'd asked for. But they seemed quite demoralised and were no doubt rushed off their feet. There is never enough staff. The food was average. Tiny portion of butternut lasagna and quite tasteless. I've had better meals at Wetherspoons for half the price. Such a shame it's gone down hill so much. Can only blame management. Reviews indicate they are a terrible company to work for.

food very average. Coleslaw from the depths of the tasteless and contaminated with fish smelly drenches. Complained about it and they insisted it was fresh, doesn’t mean it wasn’t contaminated! Chef didn’t even taste it to prove our point. Other tables said it was awful. Waitress insisted it may have been a different recipe! Steak was meant to be medium rare and it was well done and chewy, Ribs no taste, burger seriously undercooked Not a good meal at all. Then when it came to paying the bill it was announced that the 40% discount voucher not valid today but called twice and was told it was valid if not ordering from the valentine menu. Waitress said we should have read the small print, but manager on the phone assured it was valid off the main menu. On entry to the restaurant the manager confirmed ok to use, but when it came to pay she was flapping an email on a piece of paper in our faces, oh and a text they received that day. So that doesn’t excuse the misinformation I was given on the phone twice in the previous days leading up to our booking. The cocktails were not good. Cheap for a reason. What else do you expect from a beefeater really! But bill was still £135 would have been better off going to McDonald’s. In the end the manager gave the 40% off main meals but not without an embarrassing discussion first. Waitress Sam then said you are lucky! Everyone else paid full price! I had to remind her it wasn’t the money, it was the principle and the misinformation that annoyed me. I wouldn’t have minded if I didn’t call them and ask but I did. Will 100% not return here, so many other places to eat that you get good food and value for money. Beefeater are neither of these. Thank you

I visited this restaurant and received a warm welcome. My server, Vicky, took my order which was deliverd promptly. Vicky later checked that eveything was OK with my meal and asked me if I wanted another drink. She obviously enjoys her job and this came across in her demeanor. I greatly enjoyed my visit and Vicky made it extra special, please pass on my gratitude to her. I shall certainly be returning!

I wish I could say something nicer as last July I had a great family meal there for around 20 of us and the staff, atmosphere and service were great....WHAT CHANGED?? I went yesterday with a party of 13 and it was a travesty of completely avoidable problems! First under the tables was food, menus and Napkins which was so noticeable as was the Gravy smeared on the chair I was going to sit in, the cutlery was dirty, we waited 2 hours to get mains and had to call the waitress over after having waited 45 mins just to order a starter. It felt like we had to ask the lacklustre staff to do anything. When it did arrive it was barely warm. We got Mayonnaise with part of a plastic lid in it and the children were so hungry I wanted to walk out and I argued for 50% off the bill which to be honest still wasn't worth it. I couldn't eat my cold steak and what I did swallow down stuck in the top of my stomach which was definitely protesting so I just refused to eat it. How could they get it so wrong eve the kitchen staff looked like they didn't want to be bothered. Sad really it should never get to that stage obviously not the right management team

Visited this morning for breakfast eating in. Went to get a coffee, numerous trays of cups most of which were filthy inside and drips down outside. Advised two servers who simply said it’s just tea stains!! Notified manager who simply repeated the same response!! Breakfast was awful, no taste and low quality ingredients. Spoke to manager who then comped us. Would neither return or recommend

Went with the family, all ordereddifferent meals, all food had no taste. The chicken steaks looked very similar to birds eye frozen ones. Food was over cooked. Sent it back once on the return it was 'slightly' less over cooked. Service was slow, this was due to a lack of staff for the number of customers. Probably the worse place I have eaten.

Last time I went here was about 4 weeks ago, had a nightmare as hardly anything on menu to order, yet table booked in advance but wasn’t contacted prior to arrival to let me know! Tonight thought i’d try again, chose breaded mushrooms for starters .. soaked in grease! Went for roast dinner, mostly frozen stuff, tasteless, luke warm and insipid .. munched my way through but wasn’t enjoyable i should have sent it back 🥺 won’t be going there again - waitress lovely as per last time but meals thrown together 🥲 Today they still had some stock issues and a sign up this time as you arrived but course you don’t know whats missing until you sit down. From 6m ago i don’t know what’s happened but it’s now awful .. another two customers lost of many! xx

I went there last month with the family and kids to celebrate our American cousin Birthday suprise during the Christmas perios which was very busy, we had 5 family involve in the party and open 5 different bills per family nothing was a problem every each family had a number and the waiter was fantastic taking the orders and been helpful too. The starters and main courses came in quiet quick we didn't had to wait long. I was satistied on the evening. I highly recommend beefeater in ware to anyone. Thank you

Terrible meal for multiple reasons. Lots of food out of stock, this can be forgiven. Quality of the steak was terrible. Kids garlic bread was a naan bread painted in garlic butter. Cheese fondue looked like microwaved cheese, triple cooked chips had been fried multiple times so had layers of grease in every chip with a disgusting flavour left in the mouth. My husbands burger was just poor quality. Staff seemed to have given up, was fully booked despite being 3/4 empty. This place is a shadow of its former self

Half the menu wasn't available. We received a phone call at 615p.m telling us this but still went in. Waitress very rude dirty cutlery stuck to dirty serviettes. One of the party has an allergy in fact she is a celeriac and got offered a piece of chicken between two slices of gluten free bread or a salad. The waitress threw the allergy book on the table. Half the menu was missing , the front of house staff was attentive and pleasant but the chef in the kitchen ruined our experience as we was sat by the open kitchen and he was moaning very loudly about not having enough staff , no prep and he didn’t want anymore orders . He was also bitter and grumpy to the lovely waitresses all in ear shot of the people in the restaurant . The garlic flatbread was stone cold , chips over cooked and cold and the flat breads were soggy ! Will no be returning or recommending

If I could score it less than 1 I would a table of 10 we waited over 20 minutes to even be served a drink then once we got our drinks we ordered the food we waited just under 2 hours for the food to before and food was served i had asked for a extra burger which is in the menu that says i can ask for i was told the chef refussed to do the order which isnt ideal but ok then another of our guests asked for just a burger was told sorry u cant have that you will have to have a chicken burger or something else finnaly our food was served which turned up completely over cooked and colder than the north pole a elderly guest tried the food on which he started to choke it was that dry and over cooked which was the last straw we asked to see a manager on the reply of her after explaining the situation was OK and then walked away I hope beefeater as a company see this and see this as unacceptable on any standard after 20 minutes of waited around for the manger to come back we had to walk across the restaurant to find her and asked for a reasonable explanation on the reply I had to go out and get food beefeater head office knows about this and doesn't seem to care and that she goes home every night crying because she can't carry out a service to customers I think beefeater as a whole need a very long hard look at themselves and start actually caring about there guests and there staff there's only so much a person can do i adhere if someone from beefeater can contact me it would be good please because this was a family dinner where a few family members across the county come together and was completely ruined

Food was horrendous. Loaded fries came out with a melted kraft single and tomato sauce on it. The chicken melt could have been thrown together by a five year old and an air fryer. Desert were alright considering they were from a packet. I feel for the cooks, because it's not thier fault, but what they're 'supposed to cook'. Honestly just stay clear.

I booked the beefeater for a Christmas meal with work friends. We turned up to find they hadn’t had a delivery and so you could only order about 3 things from the menu. No phone call was made to inform us of this. We were informed on arrival and decided to eat despite the limited menu which was a mistake. I watched the kitchen and saw them cook a tesco garlic bread which they charged nearly £6 for. The cheesy potato dippers that my friend was served was basically Tesco wedges with some cheese and bacon shoved on top. The chicken we were served was rubbery and pink and despite cutting off the bad parts has left me unable to go to work the following day. I think they should have had the decency to phone ahead and inform us that their restaurant wasn’t functioning. Could have catered the meal better myself if I had cooked at home.

Booked a table for a pre Christmas lunch. When we arrived we were asked if we had seen the sign about limited food availability- we hadn't-and nothing was said when table was booked either. Apparently one of their suppliers has an issue at being able to deliver food so as we learnt today it's been like that for 3 wks! They gave us a print out of a very tiny availability menu but we decided to leave and go somewhere else. We know it's not the staffs fault but seriously a nationwide company and no deliveries for 3 wks - u need to buck up your ideas. God help anyone who's booked a Christmas dinner their for nxt week! - they might be able to offer you egg and chips! This is ware beefeater. Not sure if it's just them or other beefeaters. Disappointed-but on the plus side had an absolutely gorgeous pre Christmas lunch at the feathers in wadesmill in the end!

The service was long and me and my mates was only ones in there we waited like 40minutes for our mains and after we finished they asked if I wanted deserts and deserts came out quicker than what we waited for our mains. But when I was waiting for my cider that took 30 minutes for that to come but our waitresses and waiter was very good and apologetic. Also it took 15minutes to check in if known that I would got there bit earlier. Not coming back in hurry

No one seems to be going there, they disabled their booking system, so it looks like it's fully booked, but the restaurant was almost empty. Even the robot on the phone thinks it's booked. I would go now while you can before Xmas, especially during the weekdays for the great value lunch menu. We spent £45 for three of us to have mains, dessert and drinks, including unlimited drinks for one of us.

After the dinner, we waited 25 minutes to get the bill. Poor waitress had to serve the whole restaurant, and the till got an error, she could not print the bill. She had to ask the manager to come twice to fix it. But the manager was too busy behind the bar, serving people with beer who could no longer wait at the tables. Total waiting time was 1.5h. Horrible expierience!

Food was terrible! Sunday roast was disgusting didn’t even have any meat left but still put my order through and paid extra for lamb! Got grilled chicken breast instead of roast chicken and about two tiny pieces of lamb, 3 tiny roast potatoes. Nicest thing was the blimmin Yorkshire pudding. My boyfriend had the bacon stir he said that was average. Staff weren’t sorry at all for their terrible service and I only got a refund of £2.98! Definitely won’t be returning and will tell people I know to avoid coming here! Bleh.

In the last week i stayed in premier inn and tried the steak, salmon, pie, cob salad. Would only recommend the pie 3cooked chips seem typically slightly undercooked (where the 1st cooking by par boiling should help). Worst of all seemed to be not enough staff to serve, and quite a few unable to provide a VAT receipt. I gave up asking on the 4th meal.

Absolutely appalling. Tried to book a table via the website today (17102024) for lunch. Website must have a fault because you can't book a table for lunch/dinner for the next week. I have called the Ware restaurant twice this morning. Took an age to get through the automated machine and then for someone to finally pick up. On both occasions the member of staff picking up the phone has been rude and put the phone down. Suffice to say i went to a different restaurant instead.

Shocking food, really bad. Took my two children for dinner and neither of them would eat the meals because they were disgusting. They couldn’t even get the chips right, tasted like they had been cooked hours ago and reheated. We felt sorry for the lady who was serving as she was on her own without any help. For this reason we didn’t get offered a ‘refill’ on the over priced drinks and were also unable to complain about the food as she was nowhere to be seen! Won’t be going there again, such a shame.

Park Road Day Service, date of visit - 18th September, Lunch time. We came to the Beefeater for the Birthday of one of our service users. We were a party of adults with learning difficulties. We can say that Vicky who served us was wonderful and ensured all in our party had a lovely time. This included showing great care and consideration with the service users as they all had to pay separately. It was really lovely to go out as a group and be treated with such respect, care and consideration.

I booked in early for a dinner for two children. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy but had to wait a while to be seated which was pre booked, the waitress was on her own having to serve tables and the bar so the slow service was not her fault and she was helpful. However the first issue was the Nacho starter it was just crumbs in a metal tin as if the were the last scrapings of the bag. Then the mains the kids chips were burnt to a crisp, hollow and stone cold. They must have been sat for a long time. My daughter already annoyed from the nachos wouldnt eat them. I have Asked for fresh chips which came but had to ask a few times as the waitress was trying to multi task too much. When the bill come I said I was more than happy to pay for everything apart for the full price of the one child meal that had to be retired twice. I did say I was more than happy to pay for part of it but just not all of it. By now I had a new waitress and she said she didn’t know anything about the issue and their other waitress had gone home. She told me only a manger can give any form of money off. She went and come back five minutes later. She advise me the manager was only covering and normally works at another branch and they was in a conference call with this other branch and they couldn’t not talk to me due to their call. I was told there was nothing that could be done due to this, i did advise that I thought this process was ludicrous and was told I could wait an hour for the next manager to start. I paid the bill in full but when asked how I make a complaint regarding the food and the bill, I was hoping for a email to sort it privately. However they have told me no I need to leave a review, so here it is 2 star review and now a never returning customer.

Have eaten in Beefeaters for many years and you know what your getting but unfortunately this was the worse experience I’ve encountered in any of there restaurants, it was a fairly quiet evening and not that busy but the service was very slow and we had to ask for things numerous times ,drinks for example took 20 minutes . The food apart from taking a long while was all really overcooked , we have a medium rare steak which was welll done. , a kids burger that had been burnt and was so dry I wouldn’t even let my child eat it , very disappointing from a usually very reliable brand

When we arrived we were asked, for the first time, whether we had a voucher. We did and thought no more about the question. But see below. A party of four on a busy Friday evening meant that the service was a little haphazard. Pretty good food, but the mains could have been hotter. Desserts were disappointing due to meagre portions. Barely one scoop of ice-cream with sticky toffee pudding and the real annoyance was less than one and a half scoops for a simple £4+ ice-cream only dessert. I now wonder if there is direct correlation between the use of vouchers and small portions being served? Just asking...

Halloumi burgers with one measly slice of halloumi, not a large field mushroom as stated on the menu, a dried out small mushroom. Kids nacho starters were stale. Waitress couldn't understand us so plenty of food orders came through wrong. Husband currently trying to decipher what's been put on the bill as half of that is wrong too! Won't be returning. Horrible cheap food but not at a cheap price!

Really, don’t bother. Tried to eat the fish and chips but couldn’t bring myself to finish. The fish would have made a good missile and if thrown with a bit of gusto would easily have taken out a window. Guy next to me sent his meal back too. Waitresses were doing their best under the circumstances.

Compared to wetherspoons in hertford the breakfast here wasn't good at all sausages and bacon tasted horrible mushrooms were hard and cold orange juice was horrible too was very disappointed I stayed at Stansted Airport Premier Inn a few years ago and the breakfast there was brilliant yes very disappointed indeed

Been here on many times.Today we had to wait nearly 10 minutes for someone to find us a table. Which normal does not happen it look like the was shorty of staff.The waitress Vicky was excellent she was the only waitress I could see working. BIG Thank you very much Vicky for looking after us. The I had the mixed grill was nice apart from the sausages that looked like they’ve been leftover from breakfast .the steak was very small but cooked ok the rest was nice.My wife had Ribs which she said they were very nice. Will go again.

Service was slow but it seemed our waitress was on her own so no surprise! Food has been so much better here before so not sure why the dip in quantity+quality? Nice place with a tasty steak and friendly staff. Children friendly. Vicky, the waitress was very helpful and the chef gave us the option to choose the chips (not skinny as it was on the children's menu). Nice when you can negotiate. Definitely recommend and would gladly come again. Thanks 👍

Food was below standard, but I guess it's ok for the price . Staff are doing their best considering the quality of dining and deserts we're nothing like their pictures missing all the flavers unless you like plain ice cream my biscoff Sunday was all cream no biscoff sauce except for a small spoonful in bottom of glass and 1 biscoff biscuits over priced won't be back .unless they change the chef as it was the quality of the meal that was bad 👎

Checked in to the premier inn beside the beefeater pub, went into the bar for a drink and the young fella behind the bar was so helpful, friendly, had a great customer service , think his name was Harry, after getting ready came back to the bar for a drink and was welcomed by a lady and another young fella, I have to say the staff here are just amazing, a real credit to your establishment, would highly recommend

Food was overcooked/burnt... bitter taste in the steak(looks like the grills are not scrubbed properly and the residue stuck on meat) 1st lot of mac and cheese was amazing second lot i had to give back as you could count the pieces of pasta in it. Starters we had calamari and garlic flat bread which was lovely. We have been going here for years but sadly this will be last. Food quality has declined massively.The carpet was very dirty and clearly not hoovered after breakfast run. Waitress was very nice and helpful.

As we had to wait 45 minutes before we even got a drink I guessed they were massively short staffed. I don't blame the staff for the terribly slow service I blame Management who obviously don't have a clue how to run a busy restaurant. If it's a case of saving money it has backfired. We would have spent much more on drink if each drink hadn't taken half hour to arrive. The food though was lovely and our waitress Rachel was incredible. Worked brilliantly under pressure and remained cheerful and helpful at all times. Apologised a lot but we didn't blame her at all. The staff last night deserved double their wages. I do hope they were praised for all their hard work. Management you should get a grip or you will lose customers and decent hard working staff.

The restaurant was very lightly attended on this Monday evening. I was given a table and after five minutes I placed my drink order. However, I did not receive my drink within 20 minutes. My food order was not taken at all, the two waitresses were either completely stressed or disoriented.

Went for sunday lunch, i know they are very short staffed so was ok with waiting for a table. The portion size was tiny four very small slices of over cooke lamb, 3 rings of carrotts 2 burnt parsnips three roast potatoes and peas. A side dish of cauliflower cheese meant for two people had two small spoonfuls in it. Very disappointed

This Is solely related to the "if you can call it" wonderful sunday roast dinner. Where to start. Well firstly we arrived 7.30 pm for a family meal for my daughters birthday. Having seen all te adverts and promotion on their so called roast sunday dinner a few of us decided to give it a go.BAD MISTAKE. I'm on the loyalty scheme and I will say I thoroughly enjoy the food at beefeater but last night left me having to say this today. I ordered the all in three meats which is chicken beef and lamb. To start I was shocked to find out so early that they had no chicken. Now for a chain like them not to have any chicken I found astonishing. The lamb was ok but not very warm . I opted for some extra so called beautiful pink sirloin instead. Well I got a measly sliver exte and certainly not pink. In fact both meats looked like it was Stoborough type. The roast potatoes were like the cheap Iceland frozen type and tough like they had been sitting there for some time as was the frozen pieces of parsnip. Both mine and my daughters one small stuffing ball was so hard David could have used it to sleigh goliath with in his sling shot. Finally the peas and carrots were clearly microwaved. All in all I would have been better off getting a tv ding meal from Iceland roast. At nearly £18 for this I was truly shocked and hugely disappointed. I didn't make a scene as it was my daughters birthday and wanted to avoid confrontation. However I did explain to the server who I must say was very good. I could clearly see he was in total agreement but feel he wouldn't want to say. I explained my group of friends love a good roast dinner and like to travel round to sample different venues but this is definitely one I would advise everyone to avoid. If a chef is complacent to serve that up on a plate to a customer he should be demoted to dish washer. Better still face Gordon Ramsey who know would tear them a new one.

We were staying at Hanbury Manor near by so looked on TA to find somewhere to eat with the family made an online reservation. Upon arrival we liked the modern contemporary style restaurant, make sure you register your car for 3hrs free parking. The restaurant was fairly busy when we arrived at 1830, staff running around like headless chickens, certainly not in an efficient way, but were friendly. It took 55 minutes for our food to finally arrive….. unfortunately it wasn’t worth the wait ! I had the chicken burger which was a very thin greasy fillet, warm at best. My daughter had the beef burger which was over cooked and very dry, clearly been kept warm for a long time, portions were on the small side. Kids meal, sirloin steak was good and desserts were very good, if you willing to endure another long wait. Wasn’t made aware that sodas were refillable until we saw it on the bill. This place has the potential to be good but clearly lacks management, precision and efficiency. You need to allow 2+ hours for a meal here, so no good if you’re in a rush.

Average review based on many visits - on a good day it’s a favourite of ours, particular the candied bacon burger. But last night was really poor. The chips tasted like burnt oil and were a grey/dark yellow colour. The wings were soggy and gross and the burger was really average. Hopefully just a bad day at the office.
