We arrived early afternoon, grandkids in tow. My friend talked to the person at the visitor centre and was put off visiting the roundhouse due to our grandkids being with us (6 & 11). This was certainly the impression she got.
We decided to explore the church ruins and the graveyard instead, from which you can see the roof of the elusive roundhouse.
Very interesting graveyard with some very old graves.
Was heading to Carlisle for a meeting this week and stopped in Moffat. I didn't have long so decided to buy a sandwich and cake. Was served by an extremely rude and badly trained and brash assistant. Customer service certainly wasn't her forte. She must have missed the staff training session, and is absolutely unsuited to the retail sector. Hopefully, the owner will realise this.
As for the food, the sandwich was decidedly average, bland and tasteless. To make matters worse I was given the wrong cake which looked somewhat tired. I certainly wouldn't recommend this outlet. To quote Dionne Warwick "Walk On By."
Ferry stopover popped in for a meal with our dog, super food and welcome...lovely restaurant section, made our dog very welcome, and supplied water and treats ( only our dog couldn't accept - as he is on a strict diet). highly recommended, we will be back....
Have visited here before but didn’t write a review .. so sorry to the owner as the staff then and now we’re friendly , attentive and the meals again were super. Looking forward to visiting again.
Beautiful family run hotel, the food was exquisite, beautifully presented and very tasty, the Robert was extremely tentative seeing we had brought a bottle of wine came along with a wine cooler, the attention to detail was second to none, he also gave us great advice on visiting a beautiful local church which was a must see , and only around 5 miles to visit Gretna Green and a few hundred yards from the English/Scottish Border we just can’t wait for a return visit Thank You for a memorable visit.
Absolutely beautiful home cooked food was absolutely delicious, the owner was a lovely chap made us feel so welcome his wife can certainly cook definitely recommend to others little hidden gem
We came here last night for Galentine’s Bottomless Brunch, we’ve always loved Early Bird but this was our first bottomless experience here. Just WOW! It was by far the best bottomless we have ever been to! All of the staff were so lovely and accommodating, drinks kept flowing and food was 10/10. They even went the extra mile by putting 21st birthday decorations out for my sister. Would highly recommend! Thank you Early Bird team for a fantastic evening!!
Expected an American style hot dog with chilli con carne. Got a hot dog in a bun cut in half with onions and jalapeños. Hot dogs from the spar are better.
out of my order i got a 10" pepperoni pizza, it was soft mush, as soon as i attempted to lift any pizza the cheese slid rite of it, just a pile of mush
I regularly go to Lockard's Farm for Lunch. I have got used to an excellent service. The staff are all highly trained and very professional. The quality of the food is very good.
On this occasion I was served by Mackenzie. I could not fault the service she provided. She even found me the cool spot I requested and opened a window to provide more cooling! Thank you Mackenzie. A five star performance.
A highly recommended restaurant.

Tired, dated cheap rooms badly in need of a lick of paint and makeover. Mattress rock solid. Terrible. Get what you pay for I suppose although I've stayed in infinitely better Premier Inns over the years.
