Was heading to Carlisle for a meeting this week and stopped in Moffat. I didn't have long so decided to buy a sandwich and cake. Was served by an extremely rude and badly trained and brash assistant. Customer service certainly wasn't her forte. She must have missed the staff training session, and is absolutely unsuited to the retail sector. Hopefully, the owner will realise this. As for the food, the sandwich was decidedly average, bland and tasteless. To make matters worse I was given the wrong cake which looked somewhat tired. I certainly wouldn't recommend this outlet. To quote Dionne Warwick "Walk On By."

Stopped in Moffat en route to Glasgow on business. Unfortunately,I had the misfortune to be served by an extremely unfriendly and unhelpful sales assistant. This type of person used to be know as a chav. Whoever owns the business needs to be more careful who they hire. The sandwich wasn't even third rate and ended up in the bin. Take my advice give this bakers a miss.

Make a beeline for this bakers whenever I am in Moffat as they bake the best treacle scones ever a very firm favourite of mine & so versatile when camping. Their freshly made sandwiches on a variety of fresh baked bread or rolls of your choice are simply delicious. The staff are very friendly & easy to talk to & I just enjoy visiting this shop. The only problem I have is deciding what to choose, very difficult. I think I will have to make repeated visits to sample every tempting thing 😂🤣👍🏻🤩

Littles is a fantastic traditional bakers with a wide range of bakery products, all that I have tried being of a very high standard. Particular mention must be made of the superb oatcakes and potato scones which must be the best in Scotland. The takeaway food is of good quality and generous helpings. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. One small plea would be to get a better coffee machine and/or to use paper cups rather than polystyrene ones. It really is a small point - everything else is great and I can always get my coffee at the garage!

Whenever we visit Scotland we always pop into Little’s to stock up with goodies on our way back to England. They are famous for their potato scones, and rightly so, and I always get the triangular ones. They also do a full range of Scottish favourites such as Scotch pancakes, crumpets, treacle scones etc., as well as good pies, bridies and other savouries. Top marks on this trip however must go to their range of cakes, especially the ones with fresh cream, including those Scottish staples of Strawberry tarts and pineapple tarts. Fabulous stuff!

We stopped here before heading back home for our lunch. Good selection of sandwiches, we opted for the ham salad and tuna salad and to follow, a couple of cakes, as well as a some shortcake to bring home. Nice and fresh, these hit the spot when we stopped for a break later in the day.

Terrible customer service, surprised this business is still going. No idea what the food is like, wouldn't part with cash to support the business or the rude obnoxious staff.

I visited this shop yesterday. There has been confusion this week about where face masks are used (ie cafes allow people To enter without face masks), therefore it is understandable that myself (and 5 other customers whilst I was there), entered the store without a face mask. There was no sign on the door asking for a face mask to be worn. What I found abhorrent was the absolute rudeness of the staff, which not only was directed at me, but also at the 5 other customers, 3 of which were elderly!! The staff were absolutely out of order with rudeness, it was disgusting to witness. Some tips for your establishment and staff:- - put a clear sign on the door asking people to wear a mask - consider offering disposable face masks at the door for a small fee for those who have forgotten or don’t have these - consider a more professional approach- not ridiculing customers nor aggressive dialogue... remember that these are your customers and they may need advice/help rather than chastising, they won’t return when this is all over with your poor attitude - consider offering a service which includes passing food out rather than people entering the shop **i have always made an effort to stop in Moffat on my journey to Edinburgh. I have recommended this town to my friends. However after this poor experience, I don’t think I would bother again. I did not feel welcome. Good luck with your business

Why is this under restaurants? It is not a restaurant, it's a baker's shop! They have a lot of proper Scottish baked goods that you won't see in Greggs or other chain shops. Staff a bit abrupt and grumpy though. One review said it was on the left (or did it say the right?) as you come into Moffat. Well it is both the left and the right cos it is on a two way street and you could be coming in either direction.

We spent over £13 buying a Melrose tasty, which was a lovely fruit loaf made with Moffat toffee. We also bought 2 pasties and asked if they had meat in them, the assistant said they were Cornish pasties, but did not confirm that they had meat in them. They tasted ok but were in a lot of heavy pastry. We also bought a jap cake which was really disappointing, the biscuit was too sweet and very crumbly, they are so much nicer when they go sticky inside, also the filling wasn't a very nice buttercream (maybe because it was something else). The eccles cake we bought was good and we also bought some potato scones which we haven't tried yet as we have frozen them to take home.

Lovely "proper" bread and yummy cakes. So nice to see a traditional baker's shop. Quite a few times we have called in here to buy filled rolls and cakes for a picnic. Some of these delicious sweet treats are things we don't see down south which makes them more exciting.

Been here many times in the past when going back and forth to Edinburgh. This time were were staying in Moffat and we had asked friends and family back home for a shopping list. On that list were steak bridies which we asked for to find out when back in England that we'd been given mince and onion :( Everything else was good.

A part of the history of Moffat. Littles bakery on the High Street, is a well beloved establishment. Fresh baked goods daily. Scotch pies are some of the best I've ever eaten. The thing which stands littles apart is the potato scones, voted the best in Scotland. Try these and no other will do. The staff are lovely, especially Rosie, who always has a cheerful smile and friendly word.

Absolutely gutted to find this place had ceased trading, since our last visit in August 22. This hidden gem was part of our journey down south for the past 7 years, after stumbling on it by accident. It offered a hearty meal for a fraction of the price they charge, at a service station

Popped in for a Sunday Guinness to find everyone tucking into ENORMOUS Yorkshire puddings stuffed with braised beef, roast spuds, veg and gravy. We succumbed to the glorious smell of the food and it beat us, hands down, great food, great service. The two girls working in there are gold dust, give them a raise!!

The SWI had our Christmas Meal here this year and pre ordered. I had the turkey and trimmings which was served on a huge platter and three huge slices of turkey. Everything cooked to perfection. I took the apple strudel and ice cream - great ice cream. Everyone enjoyed what they had ordered and a lovely atmosphere, and attentive serving staff who were pleased to see us and cheery.

This cafe has a really distinctive menu for its size with a choice of meat- fish- and plant-based dishes. They were extremely attentive to a very unusual dietary issue which involved them adapting several elements of one of their menu items. Both waiter and chef spoke to me before we settled on a dish. This was all handled in really friendly manner.
