Christmas night out with friends. Nice place and good staff. Food was really nice and the live band got us up dancing. Will visit again.

Lively place with a friendly atmosphere and even friendler staff.. Was able to accommodate my allergies and was reasonably priced.

Popped in for lunch. Had the dirty fries with steak only just managed to eat it all. Steak melts in your mouth... cheers guys.

The chicken fajitas tasted good,I just felt that for £15+ they could off added more chicken and less onions and they could off given me a whole fajita wrap instead off 3 quarters off one.

Lots of parking. Great service. Good prices. Amazing pizza. All fresh food will be going again

Sunday dinner service was a little slow but when it came the temperature was decent and tasted ok . I had the "spice spice baby " burger but it was a little underwhelming in taste expectation and size for the cost however there were no real issues. It did come with a good size pot of fries and a really small pot of coleslaw which needs to be more if I'm honest it was smaller than an egg cup which isn't much at all and that was all the meal came with. My partner had the creamy carbonara which she said was OK but wouldn't order it again as it was a little heavy on the cream side. It came as a meal with a small side of garlic ciabattta but needed a little more toasted to be spot on. Our overall opinion is we wouldn't rush back and although it wasn't really that busy and yet we were never offered top ups or dessert orders. It just seemed to be lacking that service you would expect in general, more dissapointed as it the first we've eaten in this establishment. The kids wooden play park out thr back was a good addition as our kids were present on our visit and that was a hit .

Excellent prompt communication from Craig. Great overnight stay. Plenty of parking and lovely lawned garden area. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Went with a group of friends and our kids. Wasn't made to feel welcome because we hadn’t booked although they only had one family in. Staff just staring at us. And the topping on the cake the tea had some kind of Mildrew and the milk was curdled. Safe to say we left, would definitely not recommend.

Awful meal, dirty fries and macaroni and steak ones swimming in liquid, macaroni portion overcooked and soggy, Cajun pasta really spicy but no flavour if that makes sense?! Won't be back, shame :( 1 family member very sick later that night too, blaming the chicken wings.

We had great food here on a very busy Friday night. We were told it would be a little wait as we hadn’t booked a table. All I can say is the food when it came was worth the wait and we will definitely return.

What a great place with friendly staff and well organised! A group of 20 of us staying in Dumfries for an ice hockey tournament looking to have a meal together….. last minute call to the Jolly Harvester (5.30pm) and we were all seated together in this busy restaurant and the food was served timely, hot and we all ate together! Quite an achievement! Great choice of proper home cooked food (steak pie - wow!) as you can imagine 20 ice hockey players had a good appetite! Well priced and generous portions. A nice clean pub/ restaurant with good facilities. Parking available outside. A great set of staff, really friendly and made us feel welcome, thanks to all! We will be back every time we are in Dumfries!

Excellent meal at the jolly harvester today, food was lovely, definitely value for money.. Homemade onion rings were great.. Couldn't fault it at all, staff were friendly and all had a smile for you... Will definitely record it to family and friends

Went for dinner with my family, The food was of poor standard, only 4 out of 14 people enjoyed there meals, 2 meals could not be eaten as tasteless(these meals were taken off the bill), i would suggest the Jolly gets a new chef as i could have cooked better myself and i am not a trained chef, Such as shame as its a lovely building and the atmosphere was nice the food did not match this, i wont be back unless they change chef

Since the new managment took over its a great place to go for a nice pub lunch and a cold beer with friends and family, it has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere definately would recommend.

First time visiting here the place itself looks a little run down but it had a good atmosphere, drinks are reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was quite honestly the best pub meal we have had in a long long time all home cooked and absolutely delicious for a good price, definitely worth a visit if in the area

One of my favourite places to eat (and drink 😁) the food is amazing. lovely atmosphere, great staff and so welcoming for the kids. Put on brilliant family fun days in the beer garden through the summer months and live singers some weekends which is fab . Defo worth a visit if you haven't been. All my family love it here.

Recently had a family lunch for my sisters birthday and can't praise the place enough, food was great, and service was brilliant.

Fab Ladies Who Lunch today. Lovely lass who attended to our every need. Thoroughly recommended (especially the haggis and fish....and panzanella...and lemon ponsett....and, well everything really. Lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon 🤩🍾🥂🍸🍷

Staff where really lovely and helpful and portion sizes where perfect! Service times where great and food was roasting hot. The addition of being able to book tables online has made it an easy choice. Would happily come back or recommend

Was really looking forward to going for dinner. Arrived and was seated offered a drink waited 5/10mins for it then waited a further 30 before they took our order then had to wait a further 30 for food. When it arrived they didn't bring the sauce for the steak she went to get it only to come back to say sorry we don't have the ingredients to make it. Ate the food which was ok. Won't be returning

520pm seated ordered drinks came 530 and put on table and walked away 540 asked same waitress if we could order got told in a minute 550 asked another waitress if we could order she spoke to first waitress ordered a steak with a sauce 625pm it came no sauce I asked where it was got a look of surprise came back 5 minutes later and said can't do it first time here and certainly will be the last

While I can't fault the food I was disgusted with the seats they were badly stained which was very off putting.

Had pizza and pasta. Maccaroni was watery and lacked cheese flavour and pizza was more like a child's pizza. Not impressed

Meal really nice but thier was alot of flies in the place so really couldn't enjoy our meal as we where trying to swat the flies away.

This was a gem of a place that Google reviews brought us to. The pizzas were home made 👌, the burgers and chips were great 👌 and the fish&chips was awesome. The fish could hold a door open it was that big lol👌. And the price was really fair. £66 and 4 of us was fed and water and we had to be rolled out the door

Enjoyed a lovely lunch. Food was really nice and staff member pleasant. My only gripe was I needed to keep my coat on due to feeling cold in the room.

Service was lovely, but the server didn't take anything on board and forgot to bring things we asked for. Food was very small portions for pub grub and bit salty, which we highlighted and brushed off by our server, no apologies or offer to replace.. but other than that, it was decent enough for a family dinner. Probably won't go back considering we travelled over an hour for mediocre food.

Great pub grub. We have been multiple times and it has never failed to impress. The Jolly has a traditional pub menu plus a few other dishes to suit a variety of tastes. Our party of 10 had a variety of things from the menu and enjoyed them all. Portions were large & the food was well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Prices were reasonable. The building is all on one level and has a variety of types of tables, with the majority suitable for wheelchair users. Circulation space for wheelchairs is good at most tables & we were allowed to choose where we sat. There is a disabled toilet but access to it from an electric wheelchair is slightly tight. However, staff were more than willing to help with doors etc.

This pub/eatery is a good place for people to eat/drink , nice atmosphere too . Only one barmaid so service was a bit slow but managed ok though . Good selection on the menu although we didn't dine there .

Found this pub whilst holidaying in the area, it is on a housing estate, we went for lunch and we were greeted in a pleasant and friendly way, the food was excellent served fairly quickly and we didn’t feel rushed, great atmosphere I would definitely recommend

Visited whilst on holiday in Dumfries. It is a lovely pub on a housing estate, we were welcomed as soon as we walked in and told we could sit were we wanted. The food was great and tasty, we were served in a timely manner and it seems popular with locals which is a good sign. I would recommend meals we all enjoyed what we had and everything was piping hot

Went today as they have started doing a Carvery on a Sunday, and as far as I can find out only place in Dumfries and for miles around that does . I found this place on Friday so glad I did we had excellent lunch on Friday (review on Facebook page) but I love a Sunday Carvery well I wasn’t disappointed not one little bit . A choice of three meats have one or all three I went with the Roast Ham it was superb, wife had Lamb we each got three good slices. The rest help yourself including the Yorkshire puddings why other places limit u to one when after the meat that is the second most important thing on your plate, wow they were good , lovely mash potatoes and roast potatoes, a carrot and turnip mash , beautiful and I mean beautiful roast parsnips there was a third veg cauliflower cheese homemade it was bang on . Pity no Stuffing but other meats were lamb , and beef so I suppose if it was chicken, pork or Turkey then maybe but was so worth the trip . Staff were lovely especially the young lassie who moved us to a quiet table ( wasn’t noisy place but we were sat next to table of 8 and my wife is hard of hearing only reason) note to landlord get the message out about your Carvery and how good your food is and how polite your staff are. Thank you

Fantastic food cooked from scratch , great attention to details around my allergies. Had gluten and dairy free fish and chips which was a real treat the batter was superb , my husband had the ultimate jolly bad boy burger with halloumi fries which he thoroughly enjoyed. Staff could not have been more helpful. Not the most impressive of locations but truly impressive food.

As we approached we were a little out off by it's location but tbh once there it was as good as the reviews, friendly staff and great food in a nice clean environment. Easy flat access with everything on one floor makes it good for those with limited movement and a wide range of options for those of us with food limitations.

Went for our 1st visit today for lunch. Lovely clean well laid out premises. Easily accessible for my husband who is a wheelchair user. Lovely friendly staff, even had a chat with the new owner, sorry didn’t get a name. Service was very good, order was taken after enough time to go through the menu. Food was fab. Well presented and lovely and fresh and hot. Will definitely be back.

Had lunch here a few days ago . Brought my mother in law who could not walk far . It was ideal parking next to establishment . Plenty of space . Good choices in the menu .Food lovely and reasonably priced . Service good and staff all friendly. Will visit again

Staff were incredible very welcoming extremely, helpful and couldn't do enough for us (even giving our little dog some roast beef for her dinner) food was amazing i had soup of the day to start which was curried sweet potato with coconut which i highly recommend, steak to follow. We went here by chance as we're in Scotland celebrating our 30th anniversary (today as it happens) and they made our day

Shocking burger! Crumbled as soon as I picked the thing up. Tasteless and unappetising. I thought there was a mix up and they had gave me a plain veggie Pattie but was told that it was the correct beef mince. Nothing done about it. Shocking attitude

Lovely friendly staff, reasonable prices. Shame I did not enjoy my food. I forgot that I did not enjoy the chips last time, not many of them, to many bad bits, over cooked and hard. Chicken was also overcooked. The roast dinner was good. Also we noticed an over charge. There was 3 of us and we were charged for 4 starters when 2 were ordered.

A nice atmosphere and great food. Plenty of choice of gluten free dishes on the menu for my daughter in law who has celiac disease. The staff were lovely - helpful and friendly. It was so good we went again 2 days later!

Stopped here for an evening meal on the way back to our hotel as the evening meal there had been somewhat disappointing. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Requiring a GF menu I was spoiled for choice and can highly recommend the fish & chips but there were several dishes offered gluten free that rarely are. Highly recommend.

Attended after reading reviews for jolly harvester. Wasn't disappointed and would recommend to anyone either locals or like us visitors to area.

Googled a good place to eat nearby and this popped up, was not disappointed. We were greeted with a friend lady who cleaned our table and made us welcome. We were then introduced to Molly the friendliest young waitress who was very attentive and brought us our drinks and food very efficiently. The food was great so no complaints what so ever, well done everyone in the Jolly Harvester

I was in Dumfries on business and needed somewhere to prop up my laptop and entertain a client. Popped up as it was local and well rated. The staff were friendly and helpful, service was quick and the prices are fair. It's well laid out with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (both covered and uncovered) The original plan was to have a drink and leave but after 2 hours we decided to get fooor and more drinks. Extremely welcoming and would highly recomend to anyone traveling to the area!

Went here for a meal, away from the main town. Needed sat nav to find. Staff very welcoming and accommodating of my dietary needs. Thought this was part of the Harvester chain, which it is not, but glad we went as the food was lovely...

Hubby and I were in tonight the meal early anniversary meal food was amazing the service was exceptional under present circumstances but the waitress / bar person (red/purple hair ) went above and beyond with explaining covid rules and was very attentive when it came...

Exceptional!!! Right across the board. Plenty seating in a very open bar. Social distancing was above the best. Table top service from very delightful and polite waitress. The food was fabulous. Great portions and great value for money. Well done to all involved. I've eaten in many different venues the length a breadth of Scotland and the Jollyharvester is up there in the top ten. I highly recommend and it will become one of my regular places when I am in the area.
