Friendly and great service from every staff member I was in contact with. Both the rooms were comfortable, warm, and clean. I could leave the majority of my luggage safely in holding with them for the night I went elsewhere. And on my return, my luggage was even moved into the new room. I really appreciated them going the extra mile on doing so. Very enjoyable and comfortable stay.

I made a mistake with my booking and Georgina on reception couldn't have been more helpful. She sorted the rooms out and made the beds. Terrific service.

Premier Inn, what more could you ask for? Black out curtains and massive comfy beds in all the rooms. The only downside is a limited amount of tea bags in each room, you have to go the reception area to pick up any extras. Now then, the Solway Gate pub/restaurant, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. It appears to me that Table Table or whatever they are called today, are running the pub down ready for refurbishment or closure. The bar is sparse for beer pumps with just four remaining at the far end of bar. I ordered a Guinness 0.0 from the chiller, and it wasn't cold so that tells me something. On the last few times we have stayed at the Premier Inn, the bar has been closed by 9pm. Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

We knew that the restaurant was closed for evening meals as we had been notified in advance. Reception staff happily directed us to another pub nearby so we had a meal there. Breakfast was as good as any Premier Inn breakfast. Pricey but OK. Bed was comfy. Been in worse PI's. Would go back if necessary.

Really nice stay whilst working down in this part of Scotland. The receptionist, Georgina, was particularly helpful, and so friendly. Actually, all the staff I met were brilliant. The restaurant food was really good too, the new menu has some great choices. Stayed at the local Travelodge one night and there was a huge difference in quality, everything was so much better here. Recommended.

Standard Premier Inn. Rooms are comfortable and a cut above their rivals.

The hotel was fine but very disappointed that the restaurant was closed permanently apart from if you wanted an overpriced continental breakfast

Went for a breakfast food was ok but not large cooked breakfast variety. No square sausage or potato scones which would be expected in a Scottish breakfast. Staff were very quick to want to clear our table ready for lunch sitting. We were a large group and felt rushed to make our way out.

On the outskirts of dumfries. Rooms large but old and tired. Staff very friendly. However the adjacent pub had Kilmarnock ice hockey team in who were very loud , lots of explicit swearing and no one would do anything about them. Spoiled the whole stay.

The room was OK but the food was cold and not nice at all me and my sister paid for cooked breakfast which was cold each day and a waste of money. We will not use the hotel on our next visit or would not recommend to any one who visit the farm down the round.

Check in was a bit chaotic as the systems were down, okay these things happen so no great drama. Got issued a room on the first floor as far away as possible when the three others in our party all got ground floor rooms. Asked to be moved as I have slight mobility issues but was told it was impossible. Trekked off to my given room only to find it occupied, fortunately they were not in the room at the time otherwise that might have taken some explaining. Back to reception to complain, got given the room opposite and a box of quality street for my troubles. Went down for a meal, got told cash only, fortunately I had cash on me. Went to the bar to order a Guinness, got told it was off, how much bad luck can one person have in a day? The food here is bang average at best and over priced. The quality of the food at breakfast was really disappointing and we all left something. I've stopped in a lot of premier inns and by and large they are great places to stay but this one is the worst by a country mile.

Fish and chips were quite tasty BUT ridiculously overpriced and extremely small portions. Almost felt conned. I say this review with respect, don't raise your pitch forks at me. Just sharing my thoughts.

I had King prawn chow mein. It was tasteless, no seasoning or flavour at all. I won't be back.
