Friendly staff, scrumptious food and great value!!
My husband had the Dirty chips with haggis and cheese melted on top and I had the goats cheese salad. Both were amazing and very filling.
I only wish I had room for their cake too!! Gives me a reason to go back again though.

Living locally the corner house hotel is great place to meet and get a coffee. They also have a very nice selection of cakes and tray bakes. The staff are lovely and helpful.
Went in at 8pm on a Friday night for one drink as we were passing after dinner elsewhere. The staff were rude and made it clear we were not welcome by passing comments about the group Infront of other customers and stating that that were wanting to close early. We left shortly afterwards.
On a beautiful Saturday in the spring sunshine, we headed to Lockerbie for a spot of lunch. Lovely egg mayo sandwich and a roll with lorne sausage and tattie scone. A special mention must go for the pot of tea, which had 2 teabags. Mm, lovely 😍
Yet another fantastic meal, this time on the Friday in March BOGOFF burger deal.
Food is faultless, plentiful, service is always good and atmosphere was lovely with the mood lighting.
Steak burger with choice of 3 toppings ( photo shows toppings of cheese, haggis and fried egg and the other is cheese, bacon and fried onions) good selection of toppings and a sauce of your own choice too.
Even without the BOGOFF deal it is good value for money
Finished off with a lovely pint colada cheesecake

Visited this pub yesterday and it was great, very quiet but service was top notch and it has to be one of cleanest pubs I've ever been in. The best pint of Stella I've ever had. Didn't have food but I will definitely be back.
Visited for lunch. Overpriced food and poor quality . Service was awful and not the fault of the young waiter who unfortunately had just started . Price for lasagne on the specials was extortionate ! Wouldn’t have minded but it was tasteless and I think chef forgot to add the sauce . Curry was tasty but sauce very watery . If the waiting staff had done a check back then would have told them at the time but no check back . We did say to the senior waitress about lasagne when collecting plates and the response was yeah ! . Waitress brought a glass of wine to table but left dirty glasses sitting ? When paying bill and asked if all ok when I said no I was told I should have told them at check back when I said we had no check back young lad who had just started was told off but actually was older lady who served us! Was given a bottle of wine as an apology . Much preferred to have had the uneaten food removed from bill but better than nothing .
When visiting family in Dumfries, we always come here for more than one meal. On a rare occasion where there is an issue, you only have to say and it's sorted with politeness, friendliness and no fuss. That is rare as the food is great. Decent portion size, home cooked, well cooked and fresh. The service is fabulous too, again polite and friendly.
Great place for a good quality meal that doesn't break the bank.
We have been a few times to the mariners and always come away very impressed.
Really friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble.
The quality of the produce used is excellent (I am quite fussy about meat in particular)
I recently had a very impressive breakfast which was fantastic, Enormous!
The chips also deserve a mention, home made chips made to order. Perfection.
If you're in the area and looking for good quality food, give this place a try.
We had the hotel breakfast as we were actually on our way to Cairnryan for the ferry. The breakfast was typical Scottish food served and cooked just fine. The hotel experience was very nice with all staff most helpful. One thing to note is that there is no taxi service on Sunday morning before 8:00 a.m. so if you have an early ferry there is no way to get there without a car. Later in the morning there is a bus service to the port area. The port area is about 15 minutes away by bus.
First visit and last visit.
Such a shame as no other chippy in area.
Worst fish and chips ever.
Fish old and dried up, inedible and was placed in nearby bin.
