This restaurant is such a lovely setting for an evening meal out. The cocktails are gorgeous, the food is beautifully presented and most importantly really yummy! I cannot fault the staff here either, extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Special thanks to Zainab for a warm welcome and for taking such good care of us during parts of our evening!
I am not usually a huge fan of take-aways but this really was very tasty and didn't give off too much of the usual extra-artificial colourings and flavourings. The veg was nicely chopped and cooked, the meats (sweet chilli chicken, duck chow mein) tasted nice and seasoning was just right too.
A lovely warm welcome from the Lady serving us and so far the best breakfast I have ever had in Scotland (and I've had a few). Cafe is spotlessly clean and prices are fair, well worth a visit in my honest opinion.
Have been a few times and is always excellent. The mixed grill is superb. Have tried a few other dishes, sides and naans, all top quality and great value for money. the guys are always friendly and service is spot on. Highly recommended.
My wife and I have eaten in this restaurant on numerous occasions in the past and I must say that tonights meal was the best we've ever had there. My wife had the Salmon and I had the Steak Pie which was out of this world followed by two fantastic deserts & coffees. Could not fault the meal or the service that we received, well done to the management and staff for taking care of us - Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful food and staff. The honey and chilli chips were a challenge. You can take your own booze in. They were good enough to provide an ice bucket. Thoroughly recommend.
I order from Phoenix regularly, always friendly service from Lisa, the Peking Chicken is really good as is the Chicken Fried Rice and Garlic Chips. We usually get the same meals so haven't tried alot of the food.

As tourists to this part of Scotland for many years, we always visit this place with the kids each time. They love it. This year they participated in the easter egg class and the young woman who took the session was great with them. The indoor and outdoor area are still well kept and the cafe is good too. Overall a great way to spend a day/afternoon.

The Anchor Hotel is a great place for food and drinks. The views of the Solway Bay are to die for! It was Easter Sunday, and the sun was shining. We sat outside enjoying a beef roast dinner. The beef melted in your mouth. The yorkshire puddings were spot on. Red wine accompanied my roast dinner. My partner drank Peroni. The staff were lovely. The place was popular with families, couples, and walkers. It was a dog friendly place. The atmosphere was good. Parking was easy. We had an enjoyable day in beautiful Kippford.
Amazing Scottish chip shop food, served by friendly staff who were great when it came to checking my allergies. Lovely hot fresh, fish and chips for one meal, black pudding supper for the other - it was lovely the way the black pudding was sliced in half for deep frying. Simple, well presented food that tasted great, that was washed down with an ice-cream float that brought back childhood memories. Choice of eat in or carry out, really quick service for eating in, even though they were really busy as it was Friday teatime.
The toilet was immaculate too.
Don't be put off by the cafe looking like an American style diner on the outside - it's a gem!
