We called in for a drink on Tuesday and decided to go back for a meal on the Wednesday dinner everyone was so welcoming. So glad we did! Again everyone was very welcoming, there was a real fire we sat next to, and the food was delicious.

We had lunch here and couldn't fault it at all. The staff were helpful and courteous and the food was delicious. We had whitebait & chicken tandoori tenders to start and the whitebait was outstanding. Main courses were enormous (BBQ ribs & steak burger) and super tasty. The location is beautiful, looking out over the water. I'd definitely recommend The Anchor to others.

Best pint of prawns on the solway 💯🐾🐾 Visited again in June 2024, steak, Fish & chips & muscles. Food was fantastic, all cleared their plates and to top it off a few pints of bitter & twisted went down a treat. One day we will stop here because if the rooms are as welcoming & first class as the rest of the offer, it would be a real treat. Dog friendly too. Well done Andrew & Susan (Drew patterson)

Didn't stop there but always a great night in the Anchor, really good staff and reasonably priced drink. Good food selection, served and presented well. Certainly won't be my last night in there. I would give a full 5 star but they need a few more real ales on . So let's call it 4.9

We accidentally came across the Anchor Hotel whilst down for a weeks holiday nearby. We went back for dinner and sat outside with a stunning view across the water in the evening. The food was great and both staff members who served us were very polite and welcoming. We sat outside as our dog can't sit at peace for more than 2 minutes, however the layout was excellent for us. Inside was lovely as well with a nice fireplace by the bar giving the place a warm and cosy feeling. We'll be back again before leaving :).

Fabulous place. It was a pleasure to visit the Anchor Hotel at Kippford twice in recent weeks. The welcome was warm and friendly and the traditional decor was so refreshingly honest creating a wonderful atmosphere. The food was excellent on both occasions, tasty, quality ingredients with good sized portions well presented without waiting ages. The seafood chowder and fish and chips winning the food jealousy votes! All at prices that are reasonable and reflect the quality of the food and the lovely experience . Highly recommended before or after the Jubilee Path walk to Rockcliffe. Thank you to the team at the Anchor Hotel for a great experience 👍😀👍

We had an amazing meal here. I had the steak loaded chips which were lush and my partner had the steak and ale pie & cheesecake dessert. Could not fault it. Felt it for the guy working as he was the bar staff / waiter and booking taker all rolled into one. Still great service non the less!

Great live music and food venue. It can get very busy so booking is a must. The staff are friendly and prices are reasonable for drinks and a quite extensive and eclectic food menu. There was a brilliant live band called 'Itchycoo Park' playing 60s music in the lounge and they had the place jumping!
