Went into the cafe after never visiting Kirkcudbright. Was greetd by a lovely young lady that was friendly, took our order and had a wee chat. Food was beautiful. Home made soup especially, and desserts. Lovely homey feel.

Lovely tasty soup and quiche, all homemade and friendly service too. A real gem of a place with a very varied menu suitable for all tastes.

Delicious, great lunch, just the right amount of choice on the menu, falafel sandwich was lovely as was the soup and cheese scone and superb deserts. Clean spacious loos too!

Popped in for coffee and then decided to stay for lunch. We were not disappointed, very nice menu loaded fries were very nice , and the focaccia was very tasty, lovely friendly service nice atmosphere will definitely return.

Dropped in for a late bite of lunch. Soup (potato & vegetable) and a cheese scone. Delicious wholesome Scottish soup and lovely fresh, light scones with butter. Little pot of tea and a welcome with a smile. Made my day! Cash only.

We had our lunch in this delightful coffee shop today. We had read the excellent reviews & we weren't disappointed. The staff were so friendly & accommodating.My husband enjoyed the home made quiche served with hand cut chips & salad he thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a beef & Stilton sub served with salad & home made coleslaw which was divine. I had enough room to enjoy a strawberry tart also delicious. Prices really reasonable highly recommend

Friendly staff, good coffee and delicious scones. There seemed to be a lot of local people having coffee as well which speaks volumes. As its cash only it a bit of a faff having to get money out locally.

We liked it so much that we went back the next day. Great food, plenty of choice, great service by friendly staff and very reasonable prices.

Have passed the previous evening and decided to venture for breakfast; excellent breakfast menu on offer. Clean and welcoming establishment, friendly staff. Food arrived in good time and presented well, tasting good.

What a find ! We visited with our dog and sat outside for breakfast on the 1.8.23. We enjoyed a well presented and delicious breakfast of avocado, poached egg and bacon on cornbread and it was fabulous. The coffees were delicious and the service was excellent. Will definitely be returning on our next visit to the area. Our dog also devoured the dog treats which were served up for him in a canister on the table too x

We were recommended this by a friend whilst on a trip in Scotland and it was definitely one of the highlights. Between four of us we had a variety of sandwiches, tomato veg and chickpea soup, halloumi fries, milkshakes & coffees. Everything was very nice. We got a salted caramel cheesecake to takeaway and it was the best cheesecake I have ever had, and would say you cannot leave this cafe without trying one! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is definitely a 5 star rating from us ⭐️

We went in yesterday lunchtime for a quick bite to eat, we were quite hungry. Only table available still had a teapot and cups on but not a problem. We sat there for nearly 15mins with the two waitresses walking past, looking at us but not even a 'Good afternoon' let alone 'be right with you' We up and left. We come to Kirkcudbright 3 to 4 times a year and eat out with friends/family regularly. Was hoping to start going there with my girlfriends too, lost some good customer's! Very disappointed, as Kirkcudbright is a lovely place and certainly not the way people normally get treated here!

We popped in on impulse for a light lunch. We were comfortably seated, service is very good and helpful. Also toilet accommodation is clean and well run. We each had the homemade soup of the day: lentil, which was hot, tasty and served with a slice of the unusual and good corn bread which is supplied the bakers next door. I drank water but my wife had a good lemonade. There is a great selection of cakes to choose from and each one that we had was good, my wife's exceptionally so. The place is a bit dark inside, although it was a gloomy day. The café is so well and cheerfully run - it's a nice experience all round.

Made it at last for breakfast, before returning home. No big Scottish fry up but a delicious smashed Avocado, with two poached eggs and two rashers of bacon, on corn bread for me. A nice BLT for my wife. Beautiful looking cafe with unusual wooden tables and comfortable seating. Cappuccinos were nice but could have done with an extra shot or two. Orange juice delicious. The cake counter and serving area were a picture to look at and spotlessly clean. We couldn't resist buying some chilli cheese scones to take home. The toilets were also spotlessly clean and spacious.

Great cafe. Our favourite in Kirkcudbright. So much that we visited twice in a week. We’ve had Halloumi Fries, Chicken Salad, Haggus loaded fries , Lemon Cheesecake, GF Courgette and Avocado cake. All superb. Lovely John Watt coffee.

Even at the busiest times, the staff have time to enjoy a friendly exchange and provide very efficient service. Great cakes and huge scones!

None of the three staff wore masks, and no hand sanitiser. Makes me wonder whether there is a similar disregard for other hygiene and customer safety measures.

3 waiting staff friendly but none wearing masks and leaning across customers at tables to serve food. Customers also going to toilet and counter without masks, presumably inspired by the staff. Sorry but wont be back.

Really good food, friendly staff and a really nice environment. My kids loved it, especially the vanilla milkshake!! We had loaded fries, meatballs for kids and haggis for me followed by tray bakes and a scone. Well priced and delicious!

The room had a nice warm feeling, and the young woman was friendly. We were 2 couples and ordered 4 different plates. We were served our drinks quickly and didnt have long to wait for our food which was delicious. We will certainly go back next time we visit that part if the country.

We stumbled across this lovely little cafe and were not disappointed. The lunch menu was varied and gave me as a gluten free vegan several options which is unheard of. I opted for the Vegan Deluxe loaded fries which were delicious. I followed up with a beautiful flapjack which was our if this world. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we sat outside with our little dog. Will definitely be back for another visit.

We popped in for lunch on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Margherita pizza made with homemade tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese was great. Same for the chips loaded with haggis - yum! Only wish we had room for the cakes!

Lucky to find a table on a busy day. Some options were good value like the pizzas and chip roll, but the chicken salad and the falafel salads were both pretty sparse for the price, and there was a smell of stale cooking fat wafting through from the kitchen, so I wouldn’t rush back.

I had the nicest filled roll ever today, no contest - smoke chicken mayo with grapes through the mixture. The coleslaw was nice and fine, (I’m not keen on really chunky stuff) and lovely salad. I devoured it and wanted another.The display of cakes and tray bakes is really tempting and I can vouch for the orange and cranberry cake !Lovely lunch. I would return.

On a day trip to Kirkcudbright we managed 2 visits to Mulberries. We wanted a light lunch during our first visit. The staff were welcoming and friendly without being overbearing. Service was fast and very efficient. The vegetable soup was a hearty bowl (I know, June, Soup? But this is Scotland). my two companions settled for a 'sub roll' which was well dressed. We were so impressed we returned later - 15 minutes before closing and again the welcome was friendly. The difficulty this time was choosing the cake. They all look good.Excellent service friendly staff and good food.

Having been out for day popped into Mulberries for a coffee and a scone alas it’s so popular you have to be early to manage to have them.So ended up with a piece of “Shortbread &Coffee” the shortbread was brilliant and good value for money.The staff and cleanliness and everything about this place you couldn’t fault. Pleasure to recommend this establishment.

.... on the main road down to the harbour. Attractive modern decor, warm and friendly staff, excellent coffee and some fine traditional Scottish shortbread - perfect for a pre bike-ride stop. And a popular place too, with tables on the pavement outside in the sun too - though a bit too chilly for us this time. Great little place.

We often stop at Mulberries for lunch and the staff are always friendly and helpful, with a menu full of delicious homemade products. We love the soup and a scone offer that is only £4.95 and has a choice of homemade soups and three different types of scone. Also, if you order a filter coffee, any top-up’s are complimentary, which is another great touch. If you have a sweet tooth there are generally eight ‘specials’ on the board to choose from. As a final endorsement, the cafe is always full of local folk too and there is also a couple of seats outside, if it’s sunny, you are s smoker, or you have a dog with you.

Mushroom soup was brilliant which came with corn bread and the wedge of banoffee pie to finish off was to die for! The soup and dessert idea is such a good one. The pavlova is huge and my partner struggled to finish this.

I stopped in here for an afternoon coffee while looking for a place to stay locally overnight. great coffee & cake. The owner pointed me in the direction of the best B&B; which was wonderful for 2 nights.

The people who own this cafe are a credit to themselves. The coffee is spot on and they always make a fuss of the kids with their hot chocolates

We called in Mulberries Coffee shop today for a snack. We both chose the Banoffee pie. Wow! Just the best banoffee pie ever. The dining area is very nice and clean, the staff are also very nice. The cakes are all made by the owner and all look delicious. Well worth a visit if you’re in Kirkcudbright.

Had lunch here today. We ordered soup and some drinks and cake. At first we were a bit confused whether it was table service or order from the counter but one of the staff quickly told us (she seemed a bit grumpy but she was maybe having a bad day). We then ordered really fast and the food arrived. Nice soup. Good cake selection. Fun atmosphere too. Good value.

We visited once for lunch and returned several weeks later for cake. Our first visit was unplanned but the second was. The staff are lovely, the food and service is first rate and we will definitely return in the future! Haggis Fries are amazing as is the banoffee pie - portions are huge too

The tearoom was busy, so obviously some people like it but I did not. The coffee was bitter and lemon drizzle cake stale. Table was uncleared when we arrived, as were most others, and not wiped after it was cleared. Owner pleasant but overworked.

We stopped here for lunch. We sat outside because we had a dog - they make it clear they do not welcome dogs inside! Service strange, they made us pay in advance because we were sitting outside - we're a retired couple, hardly run away material! The manager then had a row in the street with a homeless guy who was trying to sell 'The Big Issue'. The meals are huge! Tasted quite nice (I had pulled pork) but overall the experience average.

Called in on a Sunday morning for a coffee and scone. Nothing wrong with drinks, food, or service; but nothing special either The place was busy and the staff seemed rather harassed - not sure if there was an under-estimate of the demand due to it being the school half-term weekend, or what.

Called in for something to eat with my sister in law and friend but the service was rather slow we waited for someone to come but after about 10 mins no one came we were going to go when the owner came and took our order we had the soup tomato and Basel which was very nice

Have visited here a few times and yesterday tried their soup. Choice of three soups and chose parsnip and pear. Sounds odd but was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have also had their tomato and red pepper and again was first class. My wife had a cheese scone which was huge and tasty too. Coffee first class and piping hot which is lacking in many places. Will be back

Visited the cafe on the last day of our holiday, the choice was great, food was lovely and very well priced, a little gem of a cafe, can highly recommend the Ploughman’s lunch. Service was spot on, also has free Wi-fi which kept our kids entertained

I had a great time visiting the Mulberries Coffee Shop, during my fortnights holiday I was in it just about every day. Every time I entered I was greeted by the friendly faces of the staff no matter who the staff were on duty! I'd have a latte every time I went in then stay on and have my lunch with the wife. Most days there was a choice of four types of home made soup and I must have tasted all of the soups made by the chef, they were all first class. The home made quiche, sandwiches and toasties were also first class, the coffee was good and you were offered a free top up to your coffee. The prices are very good for all the meals and drinks. I'll certainly be visiting the Mulberries Coffee Shop the next time I'm down in kirkcudbright!

Tasty, reasonably priced food. Friendly and clean. Particularly enjoyed the tasty ham sandwiches, served with salad and coleslaw. Also the coffee 'top ups' were very welcome.
