We have eaten at The Geographer twice within the last 2 months and on both occasions the food has been great. The waiting staff were really friendly and accommodating.
The restaurant was able to cater for my children's multiple food allergies and they loved the food on both occasions.
Very much recommend a visit for anyone visiting Fort William.
Sooooooo overpriced!!! I got a roll that the bread disintegrated when I picked it up and 2 slices of just cooked bacon for £4.80 hilariously i paid £2 for a tattie scone that was uncooked 🤢 i had taken 2 bites out of the roll before I realised that it was warm but not cooked.
The others I was with said their food was edible but for the price would it expect it to be at least nice 🤷♀️ save your money and go somewhere nicer for breakfast!
The restaurant was cold, we sat with jackets on as most others were doing as well which didn't help with the non welcoming atmosphere. The lady serving was chatting to people who she must have known. I had to wave at her after waiting 15 minutes to get served.
My last point is the 1 toilet. There must be others but there was no mention of another toilet by the waitress when she seen a queue of customers waiting.
Visited in Jan 2025.
There was no heating on all the customers were wearing coats and hats while seating and just for reference it was - 3c outside
The chowder lacked flavour, the sandwich lacked filling.
The prices were more expensive than cental London!
Its a shame.. As its used to be great. Won't be back again
A visit to this bright and clean cafe is an absolute must whenever in Cullen - unfailingly good.
Great menu - although it’s always difficult to see past the delicious Cullen Skink - and generous portions. The staff and the coffee are lovely too!
Very friendly staff, food is all home made and they were very welcoming of our dog. Super quick service too. They do prefer cash payment, but are also happy to take card.
Having seen some publicly around a recent award we decided to try them. Only a couple of people waiting ahead and had our order taken quickly. Not too long to wait for the order after that. A respectable chippy menu with some seldom seen classics such as Mock Chops and potato fritters. The Stornoway Black Pudding was the best I've had and the standard Hadock supper went down well with my wife.
Probably the fourth time visiting now; much busier, but still good food at a decent price (they even tell you which boat caught the fish for that day.) Another couple of visits, food still as good but the queue is out the door they're that well thought of.
Now running a well established monthly GF night (last Tuesday of the month?) which is always surprisingly busy.
I enjoyed a Friday evening meal with friends. We had 3 courses and coffee. Food was delicious and staff friendly. A good range of dishes to suit all tastes and they even had AF beer. Though quite busy, we were able to enjoy conversation. Highly recommended!
