Very nice place located in I'll station buildings. Busy when we were there and there was a shirt wait for our table. Burgers were OK. My wife had a dish from the specials menu that she said was excellent.

What a corker of a place, super decor and ambience, lots of space and the food, oh my god sublime great choice of Gluten Free options I had the scampi and the other had halibut in a white sauce, absolutely divine.

Top. Super nice service, water for the dog. Ribeye steak great, to the point. And extremely tasty too. If I were to be here again... I'd be happy to do so again at any time.

Nipped in for a last minute lunch and enjoyed the comfortable covered patio space. Very attentive and kind servers. The Haggis Bombs were a great first time eating proper haggis, and the sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Appreciated the affordable lunch sandwich (/toastie/panini) options.

Spicy chicken burger was outstanding. Seriously one best burgers I’ve had. Staff where a tab slow when waiting at bar for a bar. That’s only complaint. Food is 5 stars tho

Very popular in the evening, I was glad we had booked. Staff went out of their way to provide vegan food and adapted the menu. I had a tomato and basil risotto and my partner sausage and mash. There was a lovely side salad that went with the risotto.

I stopped for a while during my journey to the north of Scotland. The dog-friendly restaurant, great service and the proximity of the park where my dog ​​could run made me very happy.

Have been here a few times and seems to be a hit or a miss. Enjoy the cocktails but we ordered cocktail trees which said we could get certain cocktails but then we were told on the night (at the time there was only 3 tables in) that they’d be too busy to do certain cocktails on it which is a shame. We enjoyed our starters but they were quite small, enjoyed the mains but had bread and butter pudding but had to put it back as we couldn’t get our fork through it unfortunately.

We booked in for dinner on a reasonably quiet evening and felt we were crammed in to a tight corner with 2 other tables where we could hear every word of their conversations. There were very many free tables available and probably should have asked to move. The food was fine but not exceptional

What you can do with an old train station and still have a pub. An enterprising boss, an attentive waiter, an extensive menu and everything in good quality. Fits!

Great recommendation from our tour guide at Glenmorangie - wonderful little pub and kitchen just a short drive from the distillery. Good selection of draughts and food. Lemon drizzle cake was fantastic!

Excellent restaurant in the old railway station building. Full of Victorian charm and cracking food. We had our dog with us so were asked to sit in the bar, which was lovely and comfortable. I had a haggis panini which was really nice. Worth the detour from the A9

Another wonderful visit. We love trains and good food, so this suits us. This time we bought our dog g and enjoyed the very comfortable bar area. Excellent service from friendly staff. We will return.

Just dropped in on an impromptu visit. A warm welcome, lovely decor and service was top notch. We had 3 courses, each with every one beautifully presented and tasting even better. Our 2 Golden Retrievers Ollie & Inver were made very welcome too, and petted by everyone. We will certainly be back…..every course being served by the kitchen looked absolutely fabulous. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Lovely inside with wonderfully attentive (but not overly so) staff. The menus had something for everyone and the 3 of us all took from the al la cartè and were all very happy, particularly my son with his braised beef I think it was. We were even more so with our desserts, especially the sticky toffee pudding. We'll definitely e back. I recommend booking as it quickly started to fill around 6.

A strange mixture of good atmosphere with below average service and above average prices for average food . We booked a table for 7pm and didn't get our food served until 8:30. We were told at the start our table wasn't ready . When we reached our table they not have enough menus … another delay . The food was good pub food but arguabley over priced £21 for a risotto ? Expected something a bit more special . Maybe last night was not the usual wait and service? if you are looking for average pub food and willing to pay top end prices its the place to go

The food was excellent, the general waiting and bar staff were superb, but unfortunately, the restaurant manager did not seem to deal with the pressure very well. He was very abrupt (not rude) and made it a less enjoyable experience than it would have otherwise been. I get that they were busy, but a smile and friendly persona is paramount when dealing with the public. I would recommend the restaurant, but he did make it an uncomfortable atmosphere.

Ignore Parisa. We were at Platform 1864 that night too. Graham and his staff bent over backwards to accommodate everybody. When we first arrived late in the evening to a packed restaurant, he was super clear that he had his team would do their best to make it work but that they were stretched. We made ourselves comfortable at the bar and enjoyed some local beers and enjoyed the atmosphere. When we were shown our table, we were treated to a terrific meal. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we made a reservation for the next night. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Platform 1864 was so good we didn’t bother trying anything different on our second night in Tain. The first night we came late into a jam packed restaurant and Graham, the owner, went out of his way to let us know that he and his staff would do everything they could so we wouldn’t go home hungry… and we walked home a couple of hours later raving about the 5 star meal we had. Graham’s stories, the food, and the overall atmosphere were all top notch. This spot is worth the drive from many town’s over.

A brilliant place, arrived with no booking, so had a short wait but enjoyed a drink and looking at the conversation from station to restaurant. Staff where lovely good great, portion size perfect and all the plates we could see went back to the kitchen empty

Absolute gem of a place just off NC500. The food and beer are of a very high standard. The decor and vibe are done with real care and the staff gave exceptional service. Even the toilets are beautiful! I could have stayed all afternoon and evening!

We were staying in Tain and was recommended Platform 1864 as it was dog friendly, but when arriving on a Saturday early evening on a chilly evening, was told no dogs in the bar, but you can go in the pub garden, also music was very loud and felt it was more like a disco club, with hardly any tables to sit around. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want a quiet meal and have a dog

Great food with a varied selection to suit all dietary requirements. Rib eye was done to perfection. Good selection of beers and whisky. Perfect location with outdoor covered seating. Very friendly and helpful staff - the place has a good atmosphere. Recommended if you visit Tain

Very spacious, beautiful restaurant with flair. The service was friendly and accommodating. We had a delicious cider, broccoli cream soup, a burger, quiché and fries (chips) and everything was super tasty.

This restaurant served full Scottish breakfast and was fantastic. Indoor restaurant is beautiful and outdoor area is great and covered.

One of the best meals I have had in Scotland so far on our NC500 trip, going clockwise, so had a few dinners so far. The cheesecake is to die for. 10/10

Excellent restaurant and pleasant service

It's quite expensive. I got mussels for a starter at £12.50, with it came half a panini, & dad got them for a main at £24. The only difference was that dad got a pot of chips & a whole panini. Same amount of mussels, so he paid £12 extra for a pot of chips & half a panini. Dad got tomato soup to start with, & it was roasting hot (which is good). The food is average, but not fantastic. It's pub grub. Service was good & friendly. Won't be going back though.

What a gem of a spot! Adorable atmosphere with a charming concept. The service was swift and they were all so nice! And the food…oh my it was delicious! We had the haggis bombs and a special with chicken breast stuffed with haggis draped with a layer of ham and layered in a lovely sauce. Perfection!

We had a great fish and chips, very tasty with salad, tartar sause and coleslaw, the staff were lovely and didn't have to wait long either... will be back again... 9 out of 10 on my score. 👍

this is the 2nd year we have been here for lunch in December. They have a lovely Christmassy atmosphere and the staff are always so lovely and welcoming. The food is ridiculously good, worth every penny. this has probably becoming a little tradition of ours but we'll definitely not be waiting a year to eat here again!

I had a fantastic meal here, served by a very efficient,friendly young lady. The restaurant was spotlessly clean as were the toilets. There is ample parking available, and the town centre is within easy walking distance.

Restaurant is a converted railway station so if you like diesel trains then get yourself a window seat. Restaurant is very clean with a good atmosphere. Service is very good and nice food but perhaps a little overpriced. I had a braised beef dish which was very nice plenty of very tender meat served with mash but I felt was lacking veg, I had about 3 small slices of carrot. Still would give it 4 stars overall.

Always a great place for something to eat. We use it regularly now on our travels from Orkney when going South. Definitely recommend!

Popped in for lunch on Monday and had one of the best meals we've had in the Highlands. We had duck spring rolls & tempura prawns to start followed by Shetland mussels (deliciously plump) and blade of beef with winter veg (pure melt in the mouth). Our waitress was absolutely brilliant aswell. 5 Star all round - definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely setting for a restaurant and we did find the food was nice but just a little pricey for us. Can't fault waiters and waiting time for food.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went in for the first time. It's a great combination for the old building's apprentice, raw materials, and exposed stone walls. The seating area was comfortable. Servis was prompt, and we were looked after. I ordered the Mussels for starters followed by Braised Blade of Beef as main. Mussels had a white garlic sauce that was quite delicious. (I like to take all the Mussels out the shell and enjoy my food at once, not "work" for each bite:)) ) The Braised Blade of Beef as tender as candy floss, just melted in the mout. Well pleased with attention to flavours and how the dish was put together, hats down for the ladies for their customer service.

A surprisingly good restaurant hiding in an old train station. Give it a go if you're ever there, you will not be disappointed.

We tried so many places for a good Scottish Breakfast. This is definitely the best value, best quality. They didn't have any lorne sausage as they ran out, but they did give an extra Lincolnshire Sausage. Excellent venue too, definitely worthwhile checking out this Train Station.

Dog friendly! We had our dog with us, it was a nice warm,sunny evening and sat outside which is undercover. Very expensive Starters @£11.50ish!! Tasty food, nice country place. Staff friendly which made a good atmosphere.
