The traditional Scottish breakfast was served in a large portion—definitely filling for me. I loved the sausages. It was my first time trying haggis, and it was fine; definitely worth a try.

Huge portions. Hit and miss. The fish and chips are awesome. A nice good meal but can order a few mains to share if not too big eaters.

How to say...? We read the reviews. We decide to go there. It’s 1:30 p.m. We enter. Doubt sets in but the setting is not everything, perhaps the cuisine and the welcome make up for everything. The waitresses are smiling but the kitchen... The cleanliness of the place is questionable (the table is sticky under our forearms 🤔). The fish and chips are coming. They are plentiful (this must be reflected in many of the comments). But the fries are frozen, the fish leaves us perplexed, and the coleslaw and tartar sauce don't seem to know the fridge... We will be left with nausea until the evening. I agree with another comment, I would have been better off going to McDonald's...

Nice restaurant with good, down-to-earth food. Very friendly staff and huge portions. The selection of soups changes daily. Here you can, quite unusually, also get salad with your meal. Simply perfect 😊

Probamos Comfort Foods basado en la recomendación de nuestro servidor de la cena de la noche anterior. La salchicha, el tocino, los huevos y el desayuno tostado era ENORME! Tres trozos de cada alimento y 2 rebanadas de tostadas que serían el equivalente a 4 rebanadas normales. La tostada francesa estaba fresca y deliciosa. El restaurante abre a las 8 AM (más temprano que la mayoría de sus competidores de desayuno) y es limpio y acogedor. Tienen un menú bastante extenso para cerrar a las 4 PM en invierno, pero me imagino que es una gran parada para almorzar o cenar muy temprano. Otro punto positivo es que ahora aceptan tarjetas de crédito. Cuando volvamos a Inverness sin duda volveremos a Comfort Foods.

We passed because when buying in a souvenir shop they gave us a brochure that gave us 10% and it was a great discovery. The food was plentiful and spectacular and not at all expensive. They also give it to you to take away in a box that preserves the heat. For £12 I had a super burger with haggis and blue cheese, potatoes, salad and coleslow. I wish I had discovered it sooner. I loved it

An excellent homemade soup with 4 salmon, tomato, cucumber and mayonnaise sandwiches... fresh as soft and very hearty, for 10 pounds!! Served by very nice people. 10 out of 10!!

Best fish and chips in Inverness

Amazing all day breakfast, great service, a little slow but only because the place was so busy. Food was great and large portion was happily eaten. Must add that toilets are nice and clean. Big thing for us .... Its dog friendly :) we did not bring this time but will do in future.

What a local style Scottish All day full Scottish breakfast, really generous portions

The food is fantastic, portions are huge but they'll provide bags to take away any leftover. Our waitress, Bethany, was so kind and sweet!!

I think I've had the best fish end chips since I've been to England!! Very spartan environment, precise and friendly service, apart from a middle-aged lady, everyone was very young! All the dishes I saw being served were beautifully presented and very plentiful! Four of us, since we were in a hurry, ordered two fish end chips (they make it in batter or with breading, we chose the latter) a more than abundant dish with fish cooked to perfection without being greasy, served on a very generous and splendid portion of potatoes cut a finger thick, a bowl of salad (with tomatoes, peppers and vegetables) and a kind of capricciosa made with cabbage, all enough to satisfy 4 of us!!! Price more than fair!!! The only flaw, if we want to put it that way, they only serve soft drinks!!! However, it's worth it!!!!

I found this place by accident and was really impressed! I had a tasty Scottish breakfast with a big portion of food. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. Great experience overall – I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good meal and nice service!

The restaurant was recommended by a local young man who said the food here was Brilliant! He was absolutely correct! Salmon Baguette, BLT & Black Pudding, Haggis Balls - huge portions and delicious food! Very friendly staff. Now....time for a nap!

Exactly what it says on the tin: comforting food served whenever you want it. We had porrridge and a baked potato with haggis and cheese at 8am no problems - perfect solve for those looking for a jet lag feed!

Really busy lunchtime when we arrived but found a table and the service was friendly but the food was amazing, hubby had soup and chicken tikka baguette and I had tempura batter haggis balls, both were delicious and the portion sizes were really big and prices were good too, well done peeps really inviting ❤️

The cafe is situated within the centre of Inverness with a good number of seats. The menu is extensive and you will find something you like. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is definitely not to be missed and is of great quality. Toilet facilities are also present. As well as take away if you want to nip out from work

When we first say down everything was pleasant enough girl took our order after asking 3 times each person what we wanted she read it back to us and she missed my sons food so I told her, we were given an eye roll for that but I ignored it, our drinks were brought out by someone else but only 3 of them, that wasn’t a problem she fetched it right away it was then the girl who took out order started mouthing off about us, and staring over, then our food came over, my sons first everything fine then mines and my husbands, his food was slightly wrong and mines was fine one of the missing items was brought out , but yet again the girl started mouthing of and her and the other young girl started looking over, she kept on and on, I’m surprised the whole cafe didn’t hear, by this stage I was fuming I couldn’t even eat my food, my husband didn’t even have his toast brought out, I have never came across waiting staff so incapable, rude and unprofessional! The two other women who were serving were nice enough but with that girl the damage was done. I’ll never set foot in that place again, probably the worst eating out experiences I’ve ever had and funnily enough as we left we overheard another customer that SHE served had the wrong order

The portions are more than one person should eat. Sharing is a good plan. Chips are amazing!

Stopped in past for breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised how lovely the food was. The bacon was as good as I’ve ever tasted, I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a better hot chocolate. Lovely friendly staff.

Very expensive, be aware if you order a half portion they only take £3 off the item not very clean either. Won't be visiting again.

I ordered from the lighter menu for breakfast expecting smaller portions, but got a big going off eggs, two slices of toast and practically a tureen of porridge!!

First time in town so we asked a few folks where to get good food, especially looking for a full Scottish breakfast and they all said this place. It was great! They serve a full breakfast all day, and for a little more you can get a large platter and share it. That's what we did and it was amazing! Nice friendly & efficient service too.

The food is wonderful. The price seems a bit expensive, but it is so abundant and delicious that it is worth paying for it.

Very delicious food, at good prices. Totally recommended. The staff is very attentive and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We ate some soups of the day along with some baguettes, they were delicious.

Mediocre food. But the worst thing was that the waitress with the piercings was very rude. If she doesn't own the store, I don't understand why she's still working there. He was banging on the tables and chairs. The same goes for plates and glasses. He was speaking rudely. It created a tension for us, while we came to relax by eating. The rest of the store staff were polite, but she was enough to spoil the whole experience.

Went in only 3 tables had people in and all had food on table, I got ignored and after 10 mins had to ask for my table to be cleaned, I asked for large breakfast and black coffee to which no reply, very rude 20 mins in I had to ask for my coffee, breakfast and coffee came which was very hot with a lot of tomato, the slice of toast was cold and the coffee was tasteless, when I asked for my bill it was thrown on the table, food good but the service is atrocious

Because the size of the menu of this small cafe was so huge we were expecting just above average or standard food but it was far from it, really really delicious and generous portions. Staff were polite and quick at serving tables. We were here on a Thursday lunch time in the Easter holidays and it was one in one out, absolutely full to the brim, the tables are quite close together, they could do with removing one table a row just so that you can pull chairs all the way out without being back to back with someone while you eat. But absolutely worth popping in here and really good prices for the amount of food you get, clearly loved in the area with how busy it was.

The food here was good but the service was lacking and maybe a little rude. When the lady came to take out orders she barely spoke. I ordered fish and chips and asked what sauces they have and she pointed to the packets on the table. I said, oh ok, that’s all? She grunted. My husband ordered the same and then asked if they had homemade tartare sauce and she said Yes. I said, “That’s what I’d like too please”. The food came, my husband got his but none for me. No one checked on us again and we had to track someone down to pay the check. There’s places with equally as good food and nicer service.

Best place to get an all day breakfast in Inverness. Great veggie selection. Really tasty food and friendly staff. Tables and chairs could do with an update to improve on comfort but food is always 10/10. :-)

Good service and good value for money never fails to impress

I went for lunch with my boyfriend visiting Inverness for the first time, the food was delicious and I had the ‘comfort burger’ and it was the best burger I’ve ever had! It was so tasty and incredible value for money. The staff were friendly and it was a nice environment so would recommend to anyone looking for a bite to eat in Inverness.

Quick faultless service. Great choice of food from snacks to breakfast to full meals. I plumped for the baked potato with haggis & cheese & my partner had the large breakfast. Can not complain about the quality & portion size. Everything was cooked nicely. Brilliant quality at a great price. Passed the door of this place so many times & never gone in. I almost walked past this café, and I'm so glad I didn't. It serves delicious food, great coffee, and the atmosphere is very warm and friendly. If you are in Inverness, you should definitely pay it a visit.

Massive portions and extremely tasty

Fantastic lunch after popping in on a whim. Friendly staff, daughter had a plain cheese panini and I had the tastiest veggie bean chilli and cheese with baked tattie. Seasoned perfectly, magic! Daughter then had a "chocolate heaven sundae" - for £6 I expected a couple scoops of ice cream with the brownie and a bit of cream. It was the size of her head! She was absolutely delighted with her mid-term treat and the whole thing was great value for money.

I’ve popped into comfort foods on Church Street Inverness a fair few times over my ten day stay, why I hear you ask? Clean, friendly, good traditional food, that most people want and all presented well and very very tasty, drop in, you won’t be disappointed! Well this is our third time of coming back during a nine day stay in Inverness. What can I say? Lovely staff, lovely v generous simple but tasty food. If only there was a cafe like this in every place we visited.

Could not fault this place one bit. From service to food it was amazing. Absolute value for money, you will not leave feeling hungry that’s for sure. Cannot wait to come back again when I’m next in Inverness.

In looking for a lunch spot just before Xmas, we came across this place while walking around. Inside and the place was packed. Took the last available table. Order was taken swiftly by the friendly waitresses. Being a freezing cold day we ordered soup and baked potatoes. Food came piping hot, with very generous portion sizes, which was delicious and tasty. Definitely will go again.

This is the type of place that can never close now I've found it! Lovely wee place, clean with friendly staff. Got a cracking menu and 2 huge specials boards with food and drinks! Been in when it's been busy and also when it was quieter and the atmosphere never changes. Its relaxing, welcoming and has that wee buzz from everyone's conversations. The service is quick and friendly and the food is beautiful! I've had the homemade lentil soup and toasted BLT. It was one of the nicest soups I've ever had! And the BLT was delicious, nice bacon and crisp lettuce and tomato. Good value for money too!
