Awesome place to have dinner with good food, and nice drinks at a fair price. Awesome service as well, despite not having table service (which is 100% understandable). With the pizza one thing to keep in mind is that they err on the side of caution. My pizza was perfectly cooked, but some stone oven purists would consider the pizza of some of my party members slightly underdone.

Good pizza. Kinda spendy but tasty. Not a fan of the community seating. Can recommend it if you don't mind sharing a table with strangers.

Wish I could review the bar separately. The rooms are totally convenient, great location. They held our luggage when we arrived really early, and the gentleman who helped was really friendly. The rooms are of adequate size, ok sized bathrooms. The bed however must be from the Jimmy Carter administration, lots of coils that you could feel. Noise wasn't an issue, but we were in October, so didn't need to open windows. Great value for the money, would stay again, but would know that the mattress is way less than comfortable.

Came by for pizza and beer. Really fresh flavorful pizza, And beer was great! The atmosphere was nice and so were the bartenders. Really nice outdoor area as well. Came back for a second time, overall would 100% recommend!

The beer is fantastic, the pizza is really good and ridiculously cheap. You can't really ask for more in a pub.

Man, Inverness Highland Pizza 🍕 is very good. Good menu and beer and whiskey good selection. Was there twice.

With large windows this is a nice bright room making it a very comfortable place to hang out. Husband and our friends were happy with the large tasty selection of ales. I enjoyed a local gin from their selection on offer. Always a fan of places focusing on what they do well and they serve excellent wood fired pizza and pretty much nothing else. Dog friendly too.

The best pizza I had outside Italy and the beers are fantastic! You must try it!

For being right above a bar, the amount of noise wasn't bad, didn't interrupt my sleep at all. Room had no t.v. which surprised me but no big deal. It's not a luxurious place but if you're going to be out sightseeing most of the time anyway and just need somewhere to sleep, it's great. The bar's pizzas are fantastic.

We stopped to have drinks and a pizza. The first time we sat inside. Very relaxed atmosphere with shared tables. You place your order at the counter. The second time we sat outside, in the secret garden - a very nice terrace, with some booths with tables, and other tables to share. We really liked the atmosphere, the service and the drinks/food.

This place was great. It was packed when we came in. We got our beers and followed the signs for the secret garden. It's up one level and so cute. There these little hut things. This is outside on top and no heating but was very nice. Then we came back in and got some pizza. The stools at the bar are shorter than normal. The pizza was really good. The crust was soft but not underdone.

We had fantastic pizza here with a locally brewed beer. The range of pizzas is somewhat limited, but there is plenty of choice. For the beers it will take some time before you have tried them all.

Stopped for a quick bite and drink in bar / restaurant. Blown away by quality of food and such reasonable prices. Highly recommend to anyone in area!!

My stay was in the hostel, the rooms are good, the drawers to store things are quite noisy so if you have an early excursion you wake up everyone in the room. My problem was with the bathroom that felt dirty all the time.

We stopped for beer and pizza: the bar portion of the establishment. . It was quite full the entire time of our visit. We eventually found a table and soon another couple asked to join us. . My wife and I had a variety of beers. About the only control the bar has here is in choice (good), cleanliness to prevent off-flavors (excellent), service (good/great), and description (eh?). Most descriptions were fine, but the Belgian ale had nothing Belgian in it. Don't get me wrong, I drank it with pleasure, but it wasn't a Belgian as expected. . Our pizza was very good. Could have enjoyed a little more char, but we had no problem tucking it away. . The couple who joined us were pleasant and convivial. Thanks to the Bar for making this and enjoyable evening.

A great taproom with lovely beer and delicious pizza! Hopefully they don't go the way of Brewdog and understand what made them popular in the first place.

Very inexpensive room for night but beware you will possibly be adjacent to their Secret garden pub area.

Nice bar with an insane amount of different beers. The staff was very informative and nice. Prices were on the higher side, but in the aspect of the tastefulness of the drinks, one could set aside that point. Overall very clean and nice looking bar with nice drinks!

Rooms are quiet and clean. Asked for a room service and instead of providing clean towels and throwing out the trash, they only rolled up the duvet haha

Went in for a pint. I like bitters and heavy type beers. The only one they had is 6.8%. Barperson said they could only serve me a half because of Government guidelines. I walked in completely sober during the middle of the day. I know that Scotland has an alcohol problem that needs addressed but this feels like the nanny state gone mad. It's a shame because you do nice ales. I decided just to head for my train.

Went in at 9:20 and ask the waiter for tables and he said sit anywhere you want. There are more tables upstairs. Not other info. We got a table and ask to order at 9:36 and they said sorry our kitchen is closing at 9:30. Super unprofessional and rude. They could have just gave us a hint to order right away.

Best pub in Inverness for getting food and a drink

Beautiful venue in the center of Inverness. Young and informal atmosphere. We had two daisies and local beer. The beer is absolutely amazing. The pizza… definitely less so. After about an hour of waiting (but we were told that the wait would be long) the pizzas arrived. But that's not the strong point of this place. The pizza was practically biscuity, almost sweet. Very very thin and crunchy. Then…no pesto on the margherita…it would have been better to try local food but we were craving pizza…however the restaurant also has a beautiful, uncovered upper floor.

We went here for pizza, we shared the pepperoni and hot honey it was really tasty. Husband tried the beers said they were really good with a good variety. Even tho it is a busy place the service was fast no waiting for drinks. We had about a 20 minutes wait for the pizza, which was fine and worth the wait. You can buy there tee- shirt or glass if you want a souvenir. Plenty of seating, toilets clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

We arrived at rush hour on a Thursday at 8 and it took them a long time to serve us (about 40 minutes). My friends ordered craft beers and said they were very good; The pizzas seemed normal to us - yes, they had a gluten-free option.

There is always something going on here. Really quaint pub! 26 taps make choosing your beer difficult, but the friendly staff will help you.

Gorgeous vegan pizza! The menu had four vegan pizza options (just ask for the vegan option when ordering) and various sides could be made vegan too. Great cider and buzzing atmosphere. Strongly recommended!

I like this bar and often go there when my friend comes to visit the highlands. He is in his 60s and we were having a few beers as usual when a young lad with a beard walked past put his finger on his chest and then flicked his nose. We both thought this was quite bizarre behaviour given we didn’t know him . However later on my friend met the same guy in the toilet and asked him why he did that given we don’t know each other? The young man promptly sucker punched him straight in the face breaking his nose and bursting his lip. Not exactly the sort of thing you expect as a 60+ year old in Inverness. The staff found the perpetrator on their video feed but confessed that it was unlikely anything would be done about it. Not a great advert for hospitality in the highlands..

My favorite bar in Inverness. Local beers are great, and the pizzas are delicious. Great for groups and with friends - but also the sort of place you can relax with a pint and a book in the corner.

We went to have a beer and dinner. They have a wide variety of beers and some pretty delicious pizzas. We had to wait a little for the food but they told us. It has a "secret garden" ideal if the weather is good.

Very central location, spartan room.

The hotel is 3, not higher. The room is comfortable, seemingly for two, but there is only one stool. The drain in the shower does not work; when you take a shower, you stand in a puddle, which often overflows over the edge of the pan. There is no service in the room at all. Plus there is very strong audibility from the bar until 00.00 and the constant movement of bar visitors. Apparently because of this, or maybe because of the dirt, the color of the carpet on the stairs leading to the rooms could not be determined. It's terribly noisy in the mornings, be prepared to wake up at 4 am from the eerie noise of garbage being unloaded (glass bottles) and the screams of seagulls fighting over this garbage. But most of all, the odors are unpleasant - a mixture of alcohol, fumes and sweat cannot drown out even the very rich aroma of mixed perfumes. The only plus of this place is the location. Everything is within walking distance.

We went for dinner. The pizzas were real good. One of the best I have had. The collect of ale and beer was amazing and really good.

NOT THRU HIKER FRIENDLY. avoid if you just finished the great Glen Way. Plenty of other better pubs who wouldn't complain about your backpack/boots elsewhere. AVOID.

Unknown rooms. Food = 3 of 6 Service = 5 of 6 Very noisy on a Friday night at 18'ish But all types of people are here. Old, young, kids, dogs, tartoo champs and not.

Rooms were fine but the two flights of stairs getting to them was disgusting, the smell was beyond, don’t think they have ever been cleaned.

A deceivingly large pub with an outdoor seating area upstairs. Though not a neighborhood pub, it definitely has a local feel to it. Nice selection on tap.

Unfortunately the pizza only gets 4 stars. The beer alone would have been 5 stars. The pizza was very greasy due to the oil and lacked salt!

The beer is very tasty and the pizza was great. I also think it's really great that the restaurant industry places particular emphasis on sustainability. Even though the place was very busy, the friendly bar staff took the time to give me beer recommendations. I got the wrong pizza, they immediately apologized and brought me the right one in no time. I was allowed to share the fake pizza with my friends at the table for free. This is really very good service!

A really good restaurant in the middle of Inverness! The selection of drinks is really good, both beers with and without alcohol! The prices are also fairly cheap. The food is amazing here! Really good pizzas that actually resemble an Italian pizza, with lots of different og exiting combinations! The Pepperoni, Chilli and honey pizza was amazing! Good seating options both downstairs and a cozy outside loft area as well! The only downside is that there are usually a lot of people and noice which can confuse your order. But would definitely recommend and will come back here

I loved this place! Only happy waiters, and so easy to customize how you want your pizza. I usually always use ketchup on my pizza. But with this one I actually did not need it. Only reason for -1 star on the service ⭐ My experience was a 5 but hers was not. My friend ordered a gluten free pizza too. And she got a regular one, so they had to remake one. It was not the fastest remake. It's a little too loud volume in the restaurant, so they probably did not hear her say gluten free. But even if the waiting was a little long for her, the pizza was amazing 10/10 ✨ We paid £35 1 normal pizza. 1 gluten free margarita. 2 soft drinks

The best aspects: The bathrooms were superb. Tons of loos and showers, you probably will never wait for one. Location. Right beside the bus center, and rail station not far away. Countless food options. The craft beer at the bar is excellent. The rooms were pretty good, no curtains for the bunks or anything like lots hostels have, but good deal for the price nonetheless. A very solid hostel to stay at, Inverness is a pretty neat little city.

Really good pizza and beer! Would definitely revisit. Had the blonde ale and the pepperoni pizza. If the main floor is busy, there is a secret garden on the 2nd floor.

We stayed at The Black Isle Bar and Rooms for three nights in June 2024 in a double room. The hotel is very well-located, the room and bathroom were clean and the shower worked well. Unfortunately, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in in all our years of travelling and staying in hotels. The mattress was thin and completely lacking the padding which every other mattress we’ve ever encountered has. We could feel the hard springs as we lay in it and, when we moved, they creaked noisily and dug into us, making for one of the worst night’s sleep either of us has ever had. We paid about £120 per night for the room and, while this seems to be relatively inexpensive for Inverness in June, we did at least expect a comfortable bed. Some other minor things to note: * the carpet on the stairs is filthy and smells badly; * the curtains need repairing. Two of the tabs which hold them on the curtain rods were torn which looked shabby and, more importantly, meant that the curtains didn’t close properly; * there was no TV in the room. We assumed there would be so it’s our fault for not checking but take note if this is important to you; * there is nowhere (except the floor) to put bags; * the floor lamp didn’t stand up properly and so couldn’t be used; During our stay, my husband told the bar staff (our only point of contact with whoever manages the hotel) of our dissatisfaction with the bed and asked for someone to come to the room so he could show them the mattress. The staff member said he would contact a manager but we never heard anything more from anyone.
