Perfect place to eat delicious pizzas and drink beer on tap. Nice rooms and lovely staff !

Absolutely delicious wood fired pizzas served hot within minutes of placing an order. Might be little hard to get a table of your own, mostly everyone shares tables . Enjoyed Both organic beer and gin and tonic we ordered . It’s little noisy but service was good.

Good value pizzas with a generous amount of tomato sauce. Great selection of beers including low alcohol.

Review is for the restaurant (didn't stay here) So let me tell you that this is one if the best pizza I would have ever had (and was only second to NY, P.S: am yet to visit Italy and once I do, I will come back to edit this review surely) The place has great vibes, great options foe beer and definitely amazing pizza

Loved this so much. 26 beers on tap and every variation you could ask for, staff super friendly. Nice to talk too and experience of beer given. Only slight downmarket is that you could not but anything merchandise from bar, had to go to brewery which was across the river.

I actually went to the Black Isle Bar for dinner, however the pub is known is a unique craft beer bar in Inverness. They sell organic beers that come from their brewery that is located on the Black Isle [it’s worth a visit there too]. They also have a range of organic wines and whiskies. The Black Isle Bar is the perfect spot in Inverness to enjoy a beer with a wood fire pizza. In warm weather head up to their rooftop bar. They’re also dog friendly and have great vegan options, and food is locally sourced and organic where possible.

Hey, I just came to visit Scotland for a week and this was my first opportunity to try a local place. Maybe this place is five star for locals, but I don't get it. I overpaid for a smaller pizza than normal, which is fine if the pizza is above average...which it was not. The atmosphere is loud and uncomfortable. The table was dirty. I had to essentially wait on myself (the only time I saw an employee was when they dropped the 'pizza' on the table). I had to ask for plates and silverware. The taste of the pizza was as if the cook put tomato paste on a large pita, placed some uncoordinated and non-pairing "artisanal/hand crafted" toppings on it with a bit of cheese and baked it. The pizza delivery to the table was flat and unfriendly. Nobody asked if the party was good on drinks or if the delivered food looked like what we expected. How this place draws such a large crowd on a Monday night boggles the mind.

I note the catering section because we did not have the opportunity to sleep there. A local guide recommended this place to eat and we were not disappointed. The pizzas are delicious and generous. The beers are really good. Plus the prices are really affordable. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. We ate well and had a pleasant time. I recommend this place if you are in Inverness. The toilets are clean, I would like to emphasize this detail.

It's a good bar, I go regularly and have pizza as I'm local. But you implemented a crackpot US style tipping request on your PDQ machine recently - if i encounter it next time I'll cancel and leave. You can not expect "tips" before you even served the stuff. Furthermore that system puts the customer on the spot and embarrasses them into tipping, it's a stupid idea that annoys customers.

Fantastic beers, gin selection and staff

Been to this place a few times now and it is worth the 4.6 stars (Jan 2025). A simple rustic vibe. Great local beers from Black Isle brewery and guest ales and great pizza. Has a tremendous roof terrace too with lots of nooks and crannies and sit. Would recommend you sit in roof terrace but wrap up warm. Two suggested improvements: - a few more heaters on the roof terrace would be welcome for those cold winters evenings. Especially inside the ‘sheds’. With a little more warmth inside each shed - it would be a next level bar and you’d stay probably stay longer/ spend more. - mobile app ordering and paying. We are all getting lazy these days and are too used to mobile app ordering and table service. Would whole heartedly recommend this place to anyone passing through Inverness.

I stayed in the rooms for a couple of nights on a hillwalking trip. The rooms are quite basic and also quite tired. I wouldn’t mind but the mattress was terrible (looked ancient, could feel every spring), the lamp kept falling over and the lock on the bathroom door briefly trapped me 😂 I probably wouldn’t stay again unless it was refurbished. Which is a shame because it’s a really nice bar and restaurant.

We only ate here but the food was superb, fresh and mostly locally sourced. We had a couple of their beers too which were equally good. Service was quick considering how busy they were.

The brewery is a great place for a night out, even on a Wednesday the place was busy. Staff are friendly, beers are great and their pizzas are excellent.

Update - November 2024 We stopped here whilst Christmas shopping in Inverness. The staff were very friendly and inviting. We had a couple of drinks, great atmosphere with a mix of people Sadly, we could not stay longer otherwise we would’ve been there all night. Would highly recommend **************************************

I can't comment on the rooms as I only stayed in the pub which was faultless. The place was recommended to us by several locals and their colleagues from other bars. Really a step to take!

Don’t know anything about the rooms. But the pizza and beer was delicious. Enjoyed a long evening at a table eating, drinking and playing cards. Very relaxing place to spend a couple of hours. Went back our second night in town for a couple more drinks and more cards and conversation

Sitting at the table with good beers. You share the table with others and you can quickly start a conversation. Order at the bar, you have to get the beer yourself, they bring the food. Nice cafe

Awesome place to have dinner with good food, and nice drinks at a fair price. Awesome service as well, despite not having table service (which is 100% understandable). With the pizza one thing to keep in mind is that they err on the side of caution. My pizza was perfectly cooked, but some stone oven purists would consider the pizza of some of my party members slightly underdone.

Good pizza. Kinda spendy but tasty. Not a fan of the community seating. Can recommend it if you don't mind sharing a table with strangers.

Wish I could review the bar separately. The rooms are totally convenient, great location. They held our luggage when we arrived really early, and the gentleman who helped was really friendly. The rooms are of adequate size, ok sized bathrooms. The bed however must be from the Jimmy Carter administration, lots of coils that you could feel. Noise wasn't an issue, but we were in October, so didn't need to open windows. Great value for the money, would stay again, but would know that the mattress is way less than comfortable.

Came by for pizza and beer. Really fresh flavorful pizza, And beer was great! The atmosphere was nice and so were the bartenders. Really nice outdoor area as well. Came back for a second time, overall would 100% recommend!

Man, Inverness Highland Pizza 🍕 is very good. Good menu and beer and whiskey good selection. Was there twice.

With large windows this is a nice bright room making it a very comfortable place to hang out. Husband and our friends were happy with the large tasty selection of ales. I enjoyed a local gin from their selection on offer. Always a fan of places focusing on what they do well and they serve excellent wood fired pizza and pretty much nothing else. Dog friendly too.

For being right above a bar, the amount of noise wasn't bad, didn't interrupt my sleep at all. Room had no t.v. which surprised me but no big deal. It's not a luxurious place but if you're going to be out sightseeing most of the time anyway and just need somewhere to sleep, it's great. The bar's pizzas are fantastic.

We stopped to have drinks and a pizza. The first time we sat inside. Very relaxed atmosphere with shared tables. You place your order at the counter. The second time we sat outside, in the secret garden - a very nice terrace, with some booths with tables, and other tables to share. We really liked the atmosphere, the service and the drinks/food.

This place was great. It was packed when we came in. We got our beers and followed the signs for the secret garden. It's up one level and so cute. There these little hut things. This is outside on top and no heating but was very nice. Then we came back in and got some pizza. The stools at the bar are shorter than normal. The pizza was really good. The crust was soft but not underdone.

We had fantastic pizza here with a locally brewed beer. The range of pizzas is somewhat limited, but there is plenty of choice. For the beers it will take some time before you have tried them all.

Stopped for a quick bite and drink in bar / restaurant. Blown away by quality of food and such reasonable prices. Highly recommend to anyone in area!!

My stay was in the hostel, the rooms are good, the drawers to store things are quite noisy so if you have an early excursion you wake up everyone in the room. My problem was with the bathroom that felt dirty all the time.

We stopped for beer and pizza: the bar portion of the establishment. . It was quite full the entire time of our visit. We eventually found a table and soon another couple asked to join us. . My wife and I had a variety of beers. About the only control the bar has here is in choice (good), cleanliness to prevent off-flavors (excellent), service (good/great), and description (eh?). Most descriptions were fine, but the Belgian ale had nothing Belgian in it. Don't get me wrong, I drank it with pleasure, but it wasn't a Belgian as expected. . Our pizza was very good. Could have enjoyed a little more char, but we had no problem tucking it away. . The couple who joined us were pleasant and convivial. Thanks to the Bar for making this and enjoyable evening.

Nice bar with an insane amount of different beers. The staff was very informative and nice. Prices were on the higher side, but in the aspect of the tastefulness of the drinks, one could set aside that point. Overall very clean and nice looking bar with nice drinks!

Rooms are quiet and clean. Asked for a room service and instead of providing clean towels and throwing out the trash, they only rolled up the duvet haha

Went in for a pint. I like bitters and heavy type beers. The only one they had is 6.8%. Barperson said they could only serve me a half because of Government guidelines. I walked in completely sober during the middle of the day. I know that Scotland has an alcohol problem that needs addressed but this feels like the nanny state gone mad. It's a shame because you do nice ales. I decided just to head for my train.

If I could leave 6 stars I would. Best pizza I’ve ever had and a wide range of beers. I was given a few small samples of beer at the bar to help me choose. Awesome place for a quick lunch.

Went in at 9:20 and ask the waiter for tables and he said sit anywhere you want. There are more tables upstairs. Not other info. We got a table and ask to order at 9:36 and they said sorry our kitchen is closing at 9:30. Super unprofessional and rude. They could have just gave us a hint to order right away.

Best pub in Inverness for getting food and a drink

Beautiful venue in the center of Inverness. Young and informal atmosphere. We had two daisies and local beer. The beer is absolutely amazing. The pizza… definitely less so. After about an hour of waiting (but we were told that the wait would be long) the pizzas arrived. But that's not the strong point of this place. The pizza was practically biscuity, almost sweet. Very very thin and crunchy. Then…no pesto on the margherita…it would have been better to try local food but we were craving pizza…however the restaurant also has a beautiful, uncovered upper floor.

We went here for pizza, we shared the pepperoni and hot honey it was really tasty. Husband tried the beers said they were really good with a good variety. Even tho it is a busy place the service was fast no waiting for drinks. We had about a 20 minutes wait for the pizza, which was fine and worth the wait. You can buy there tee- shirt or glass if you want a souvenir. Plenty of seating, toilets clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

We arrived at rush hour on a Thursday at 8 and it took them a long time to serve us (about 40 minutes). My friends ordered craft beers and said they were very good; The pizzas seemed normal to us - yes, they had a gluten-free option.
