It’s such a shame as when I visit family in Inverness, I always pop in to the Victorian market, so the cafe is in a fantastic spot. It’s an interesting wee place inside and all the signs are welcoming ....... except for the surly staff member or maybe it’s the owner? I didn’t get a welcome smile or acknowledgement. I wasn’t sure whether to order at the table and was just told in a matter of fact way that you order at the desk. There is an upstairs but this was blocked off for some reason. My snack was ok - took the edge off before my tea, I have given this place the benefit of the doubt before, but the service hasn’t improved. I went to the desk to pay and was asked what would I like to order!! I said I’ve eaten and I’m just wanting to pay. She just wasn’t interested. There’s plenty of other places in Inverness to spend your hard earned money. That’s the last time I spend mine in there I’m afraid.

El peor capuchino que he probado. Avoid.

Order your pizza in the Spar then enjoy a drink in the bar by the campsite. Great tasty fresh pizza properly cooked - what a revelation. And you can get hot breakfast rolls in the morning. Makes camping a treat.

Popeye's is attached to the Ferry Inn and appears to share a kitchen. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It is a simple uncomplicated pub with some basic seating and minimal ambience. The menu runs heavily to what you'd expect - we had a burger and a chicken sandwich and both were perfectly good. There is a full selection of drinks as well as coffee. Service was quite quick which was good as we stopped in here while on our way to the ferry terminal which it is maybe a 5 minute walk from. The service was friendly and welcoming.

My 2 grandchildren wanted to go, and to be fair the pancake dishes looked good, but that's were it ends. Had without doubt the worst fish and xhips I have ever eaten, dry fish half cooked chips, they would have had to go some to mess them up!!. Will not ever go back, and would advise anyone reading this hopefully before they go, not to

They say you can tell how good a place is from its toilets - they're terrible here. Smelled really bad. As in it hasn't been cleaned properly bad, not just it's been used bad. The food isn't far from it either - we got a rotten potato chip, which is either a basic and egregious mistake or a sign that they don't care and get their potatoes already done from somewhere without even checking them. Regardless, don't serve rotten potatoes, that's just bad form. The chicken was undercooked and flavourless, but the sauce was actually pretty OK and the veggies were good. The burger was meh. Not bad. Not great. Not worth the price. The beer was good. Obviously they don't make that one, but still, good beer. All in all, way better options in Inverness, and for the same price or cheaper.

Ashers have a takeaway section plus a separate counter for the adjoining sit in restaurant in the downstairs part of the St Giles Shopping Centre. There is a good selection of hot and cold light lunch options plus soup, cakes, and filled sandwiches/ rolls, and the usual hot and cold drinks. Prices are what you would expect from this type of establishment. Service was quick and friendly from Jane and I had an enjoyable snack.

We sat down for half an hour, no one had even looked in our direction , had to ask the staff if someone was going to serve us. We hadn’t even had a drink order taken. The manager came over and took our order and was very apologetic but it was clear the whole place was in a shambles - no one was being served and when they were the wrong food was coming out , the server didn’t even know what tables the food was for, they were asking the customers the table numbers even though there were no numbers on the tables. The worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Food was average and over priced. Staff looked miserable. If it wasn’t for having a hungry 2 year old I would have walked out.
