Fantastic place for either a big stack of Pancakes (they also have gluten free options) or a Scottish breakfast! The place was so quiet, just what I needed for that morning. The breakfasts were unbelievable! The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Will 100% visit again!

We stopped in for a cuppa on a wet Tuesday afternoon at 3pm and this place was like sunshine inside , lovely and clean, excellent service, very friendly staff and meals hot and very tasty. I had the kids Mac cheese and it was a bigger portion than I thought so great value for money at £6.50. My husband had a halumi wrap and it was very tasty it came with nachos which were hot and tasty. We had blueberry pancakes after (see pic) and 😋 so yum. The atmosphere was really fun too the place was very busy with locals and tourists and decent music on. We will definitely be going again 🤩🤩 the ladies working there made us feel at home Also the service was excellent too very quick. The previous reviews do not reflect our experience this afternoon.

So the staff were nice, and the pancakes my family and I had for dessert were delicious. But… the mains we had were pitiful. The Nachos were cold and looked like whoever made them had read about loaded nachos in a book, but had never seen them in real life. My kids’ meals were a mixture of scalding hot and lukewarm, suggesting an extended period under a heat lamp waiting for all ingredients to be ready. And the service took absolutely ages - especially when you consider the volume of customers (minimal) in there at the time. I read the Tripadvisor reviews while I was waiting for my pancakes. I really wish I’d read them before I went in.

Stopped in for lunch and asked about gluten free, we were given a menu and when we asked if chips were cooked seperately, we were then told chips were cooked in the same frier as other items which would make them not strictly gluten free. As our folks are Coeliac, the gluten free thing is not a choice but a necessity. We still ordered food which was fine and tasty, but felt our service suffered due to our obvious dissatisfaction regarding cross contamination. Would we go back?. Yes if other places weren't available.

Food was awful, could tell it was just chucked together the cheese on the toasty was hardly melted the Ham has jelly bits in it which isn’t pleasant to eat the chips tasted like oil and again barely cooked the macaroni dish was stained and again could tell it has been made days before and not brought up to the correct temperature to reheat food. If they are happy to present the food like that I don’t even want to think about their kitchen hygiene standards. The prices of the food was again terrible £30 for two meals and three drinks that were hardly touched, should’ve went to a nicer restaurant with bearable food just all over a terrible experience DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We took our granddaughters out for lunch here, having ordered sharing Nachos and pancake stacks . The Nachos arrived with the pancakes which seemed crazy , the pancakes themselves were the same you can buy in a cheap pack in Asda , we expected that they would have been pancakes cooked on the premises but obviously not. All in all an expensive disappointment.

A group of us visited on a Sunday afternoon when there were few other options open in Elgin, However we were not disappointed whether we went for the all day vegetarian breakfast (which I had) or stack of pancakes. Portions were generous - so much so after the breakfast I had no space for any pancakes. There are plenty of seats inside; service was friendly and all food is cooked to order.

Shocking service, 2 soups warm 1 freezing all 3 watered down & no taste. Pancakes took 3 complaints, last being a manager and eventually the food arrives. Food was bad, turns out they had no maple syrup so they added a spice to golden syrup & tried to pass it off as maple syrup 🤮 & thought no one would notice. Go elsewhere, too expensive for such bad service & horrible food.

If you love pancakes then look no further than this place, after driving up from Aberdeen we decided to stop and have some breakfast. I decided to try the bacon stacker which consists of pancakes, bacon & maple syrup. It is always a firm favourite. The restaurant itself was quite cold and felt a little run down but the staff were great and really friendly. When my bacon stacker came out I was blown away by three full sized pancakes finished off with a slice of bacon in-between each, I was expecting small pancakes but they really did go all out. I do love pancakes and these were freshly made, the only downside is that it was served with golden syrup instead of maple syrup and that the portion size could have been shared. Pricing is a little expensive for what it is but if you are looking for a treat, definitely worth giving them a try!

I previously had a 5 star review for this place. But after our last experience, we won't be back and I've decided to delete my old review. Unsure if it's changed hands/management/chef, but it's just mass cooked microwaved/hotplated mass. My wife sent her rubbery fried eggs back and asked for fresh replacements. New ones did come but again, rubbery. My wife (a chef) said that only happens if you grill or microwave them, not when you fry them. I wouldn't mind paying for mass cooked greasy spoon crap, good somedays its needed, exactly what you get in a weatherspoons! But weatherspoons wouldn't charge me 40 quid for the privilege. with all that's available in Elgin now, I can't see us going back.

The waitress came with our drinks (which included a hot drink). She lifted the tray directly above and over my. Baby’s car seat, which my baby was sitting in!!!!! Then our meal took 35 mins to come (why I don’t know). There wasn’t any apology for the delay. The food was ok, nothing special. The lady sitting next to us had an omelette, well she ordered an omelette but we’re pretty sure it wasn’t an omelette. It looked and tasted horrible. She said it was like rubber. Its big!3 large fluffy pancakes, 2/3 rashers of bacon between each pancake and on top and a large amount of maple syrup to drown it in.Only criticism was that the bacon wasn't crispy - it should have been grilled or oven backed until crispy.Coffe wasn't great either. Not a bad place, would probably visit again

Hadn’t been in A Pancake Place for yonks - so decided to try this one out. Went for the soup & sandwich deal, and although the soup (lentil) was tasty , the two quarter sandwiches served with it were rather scrimpy and miserly , with almost as much crust as filling - so maybe not such a wonderful “deal”. However, we shared maple syrup pancakes afterwards and they were really delicious and filled up any spaces. Also , must mention got a decent potful of tea in here , from which I got a good few cuppas out of. Staff were pleasant and chatty.

Overcharged for lunch special which was completely wrong and missing elements. Soup was lukewarm ?canned.Only Positive - My neice liked her pancakes which is the point of the cafe but should maybe stop offering other types of food if they cant maintain standards Honestly I would have left or made a complaint but after the fuss made moving seats I didn't want to embarrass my neice whose a teenager.

This small restaurant in Elgin's town centre is gradually becoming a favourite of mines. When I knew it was my 'Meat' day, it didn't take much persuading to head here. I'm definitely a fan of traditional British Breakfasts and this establishment always delivers.I went large (standard for me) with a 'Latte' as my choice of hot drink. It's safe to say that there is anything but a dull moment when the plate arrives. To be fair, there is never a long wait and this is always the case. The order is taking promptly and the food is cooked in a very economical time.Sadly on this occasion my experience was slightly underwhelming. On a positive note, my 'Bacon' was lovely, the 'Haggis' equally so and the 'Mushrooms' were juicy and well portioned. Unfortunately, the 'Black Pudding' was drier than normal, the 'Eggs' were overdone and the 'Sausages' lacked a bit of quality. That aside, I left nothing to waste on the plate and left with a full stomach!Would I or we be back? Most definitely - especially now that my wife has discovered the 'Ice Cream Milkshake'. The restaurant is always good value for money and with a little bit of consistency in the standard of food, my rating will increase again.

When I questioned this was told the menu said our Paninis are cold Baquettes. Getting on in years but I can still read a menu and did not find this to be so on menu. Brie was cold and still had skin on. Reason I ordered Panini was so filling would be hot. Cranberry sauce was just dolloped on top of Baquette. Looked like they were trying to hide Brie skin and far too much of it. Partner ordered Chicken Curry pancake and is was cold. Having found the food unsatisfactory, we informed the waitress who was very apologetic and encouraged feedback on all the food and who then informed the manager of our feedback. The reaction of the manager was the worst aspect of the whole experience. She dismissed our complaint and placed the blame for the bad food on us, despite the fact that one of the dishes was cold to the touch. We swiftly paid for the drinks and small portion of food which was edible and then left. Absolutely would not go back and would not recommend.

I took my wife and 3 small children here for a family treat. The kids really enjoyed the pancakes and the milkshakes. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. We've been here before and will be back. It is located on the high street near the St Giles centre. It has high chairs available and the disabled toilets have a baby changing area. The portion sizes were big but they didn't mind giving extra plates so we could split one portion between the 3 of the kids.

The menu at the pancake place is very good and based on price I think it is quite reasonable hence why I have given 2 stars instead of just the one!I visited on two occasions over the past few months, I like to give places the benefit of the doubt if the overall experience wasn't completely terrible!I visited with my children! I have to say the children's menu is very good and very varied and like other places they get given crayons and it keeps them amused whilst waiting! However the wait is ridiculous, the staff and the service is absolutely terrible! The staff are busy gossiping about customers and not paying much attention to the customers! The first time I went we waited for 20 minutes and it wasn't busy! I was just on the verge of putting my coat on when a nice young girl came from the kitchen and served us! The staff that were in view were too busy chatting to each other! The food was good on the first visit! I could not fault it! But I didn't have all day to wait and was by the end of my visit rushed for time due to the lack of customer service/wait!I put my visit behind me and decided to go in again with my children as they had "scotch broth" advertised and I really wanted a bowl of home made soup!Never again! I ordered Scotch Broth and it had sweetcorn in it! I very much dislike sweetcorn and I have never ever heard of anyone putting sweetcorn in scotch broth! This is totally unheard of! It ruined my appetite and the bowl of soup I was really looking forward to! I was sitting next to the till! And furthermore it put me off even more when I heard the staff slagging off customers! The staffs manner is totally unacceptable! And very off putting! This could be a great place! If the staff pulled their weights and possibly had some customer service training! Oh and the sweetcorn in the scotch broth!I won't be returning again! Sorry! I try to be as honest as I can and this is a negative one for me!

Visited with family and stood for over 10 minutes while a young girl cleaned a table never acknowledged us or apologised for our wait. Another staff member came out and apologised and said they where really busy however there were plenty of empty seats. Finally got seated to be told our food order would be a while as the kitchen was very busy. Food finally arrived and the 'fresh cream' was sour. Won't be back.

Came here with my two children as we love pancakes and the name sounds very promising, and on walking in I should have known better as the waitress that served us was very dour faced & unfriendly and the decor inside was tired. Anyway we went on and ordered our food, kids had a sort of make up your own pancake desert and chose sauce, smarties and icecream, I chose toffee and apple cinnamon pancakes which sounded amazing. And a pot of tea. Well it wasn't amazing. I'll start with my pot of tea. I didn't think you could really go wrong with that but the pot had a broken lid that didn't close properly, and the cup was speckled with grit where it had been through a dishwasher that needed a good clean out. I know that as I have worked in a restaurant and have seen this happen. Tea despite leaving it for ages was still as weak as dishwater. Cheap tea bags I assume.Kids pancakes were £3.99 each and they got about 3 tiny pancakes with fake Smarties, a vile tasting chocolate sauce and very cheap tasting ice cream. You know the watery white kind with no creamyness. The littlest child wouldn't even eat his chocolate sauce and he'd usually eat anything with chocolate. Mine turned up and it saddened me how crap it was. Tinned apples and 4 tiny pancakes, toffee sauce and a scoop of that crappy ice cream. £7.99. The only saving grace of the experience was one very nice waitress who seemed lovely who we spoke to us on the way out and the kids got a balloon each. If you are that neck of the woods go to Starbucks as it's right near by, staff are all lovely and it's far cheaper and better quality that here. Never thought I would refer to Starbucks as the cheaper option! (And if I was that nice waitress in Pancake Place I would jump ship as that is a sinking vessel if ever I've seen one!)

We enjoyed our visit. Were seated quickly and the booth seating although looking a little dated was comfortable. Maybe a touch up of the existing chairs and tables could be done but I'd not suggest swapping out for chairs. They don't make it easy to find a menu online in advance of going but the menu is availible outside and on the tables. We both picked up a fried breakfast, mine the larger. the sausages and bacon were good, I'm really glad the black pudding was cooked "rare" or more that it wasn't overcooked like you commonly get. the haggis was nice as were the beans. Personally we both found the mushrooms very dry, I normally slice mine and fry in butter to keep that moisture but these didn't look appealing. The taste was still fine, call it personal preference. Perfect amount of maple syrup for the pancakes and a perfect stack, nice and golden. The milkshakes were really lacking ice cream, it really just tasted like milk and oreos. I expected a thick, ice cream milkshake. It was tasty but just not what I expected.Nice to see contactless in use, shame I couldn't use my Amex. It all came in at £23.05 which for me is a good price for what we got. I certinly left satisfied and well fed.

Went here around 1030 am as no where else open for breakfast. Only two waitresses on and it was quite busy. Service a bit slow but very friendly, a bit expensive for what it was. Breakfasts although done in deep fat fryer and cheaper items it was freshly cooked. Would go back as service friendly. Could do with another waitress on as busy before another started at 11am. People were walking out cause of wait.

After picking up our grand daughter from school and a brief shopping expedition, we called at the. Pancake Place for a snack. The seating near the entrance and tables were too low, although we were offered seating further into the restaurant. Service was reasonably quick and the two waitresses that served us were very friendly. However I felt prices were on the high side and the pancakes were ok but nothing special.

Visited for our lunch place has never changed however the service and standards certainly have. Was seated promptly however after having placed order for two soup and Sandwich deals proceeded to wait 20 minutes for it. Then soup was gloupy and lukewarm. Sandwich was limp and unappealing. 10 minutes after notifying waitress about soup temperature was still waiting for it to be replaced ended up walking out. Definitely won't be back. Shocking.

Visiting our daughter and on her recommendation we visited the Pancake Place. Friendly staff and quick service. My wife had soup and a sandwich, my daughter pancakes and I the BFG burger. All hot, fresh and good value. Well worth the visit and would recommend.

First and the last time here...Place itself is ok, booths are nice, place is rather clean. But food and service are not so good. Waitress made mistake with daughter's order - fortunately correct one came quick. But that's the end of good news. I ordered veggie burger - which is a plain bun and burger, no tomato or lettuce, cheese has to be order as an extra, which I didn't know. Daughter had mozzarella and tomato panini - small baguette baguette halved and filled with cheese which is not a mozzarella for sure and quarters of tomato. Hard to call it a panini at all. The only good thing are chips.DisappointingWe weren't charge for drinks though - as an apology for the mistake in daughter's order

Very few restaurants were open on Sunday and we picked the worst of them -a round of sandwiches on not very fresh bread and ghastly margarine followed by huge, tasteless pancakes - good grief you would be hard pushed to find worse food at the price they charge - it was £20 for this damned rubbish.I would say avoid like the plague.

Avant ou après la visite d'une distillerie (ou entre deux visites...), arrêtez vous à Elgin, petite ville sympa. The Pancake sert des bons petits trucs, salades, pies, et les serveuses sont adorables !(j'avais promis de l'écrire !)

Used to come here quite often and it was ok. Never been anything special, but today was shocking. Daughter had sausages, chips and beans and they were just cheap fried to a crisp sausages with greasy chips and cheap beans. I had a burger and there are some burger vans that serve better meat than the burger I had. Overpriced for what you get so I won't be returning in a hurry. Unfortunately my usual restaurant was closed for a refurb.

Went for a lunch date with my friend since we hadn't been for a long time. All in all the food is lovely. However we will not be returning. When we had our lunch we decided on desert and didn't get the menus for a long period of time. Then the staff made a mistake with the order which caused chaos. The prices are ridiculous especially £7.25 for a pancake with a bit of sauce. The staff just made the experience so just awful. However there was a nice young woman who was very friendly and helpful so the place hasn't completely lost its charm but we will not be returning.

Ashers have a takeaway section plus a separate counter for the adjoining sit in restaurant in the downstairs part of the St Giles Shopping Centre. There is a good selection of hot and cold light lunch options plus soup, cakes, and filled sandwiches/ rolls, and the usual hot and cold drinks. Prices are what you would expect from this type of establishment. Service was quick and friendly from Jane and I had an enjoyable snack.

Oh dear, customer service attitude the worst I’ve ever experienced. What I requested, 1 sit down coffee in a cup and 2 coffees in take away cups became quite the task. Somehow it was my fault things got mixed up, and whilst I quite easily and calmly tried to explain the order (again) things behind the counter escalated to the point where the girl serving actually asked me if I wanted the coffees or not? We are over from Australia and just not used to bad attitude within the service industry. You wouldn’t last long at all with that attitude. On a positive note once I was dealt with and the banging of cups and jugs all over with, the attitude quite obviously changed so the following customers had a different service …. But I do wonder if this was for my benefit? Do better please.

I visited Miller's cafe in Decora,Elgin, on April 11th after shopping in Decora's lovely garden center. My friend and I regularly visit Decora and we love to try out Millers cake and scone selection on sale. We were both delighted on this occassion to buy a scone we had not seen before. The scone was Peach and Apricot. We found the scones to be absolutly delicious. Very light and full of the fruity flavour. Well done Miller's cafe for these delicious fruity scones. Our cuppachino coffee was very nice too.
