Worst cappuccino I’ve ever had. Avoid. Other coffees in the group were fairly meh also. There’s another cafe next door, maybe try that one instead.

Very friendly greeting and quick service ,ordered the full breakfast without beans and was given an extra sausage instead . Good quality mug of tea too all at reasonable price . Location is perfect for breakfast if you arrive on sleeper train as it is just across the road from the station just inside the entrance to the market .

Freshly cooked and tasty breakfast with a nice coffee and reasonably priced can recommend for a visit, if you want something light 😀

My wife ordered a latte, a hot chocolate and a scone with jam for myself. We sat at a table in the arcade, the waiter brought the latte, then the hot chocolate then the scone with a catering pack of lurpak butter and catering pack of jam. After spreading the butter and jam, I tasted the scone, it was very hot and stoggy, after the first bite, I decided that it was just not edible. I was going to complain but my wife stopped me. The reason for the the 2 is that the latte and hot chocolate were nice, but the quality of the scone let it down. We will not be returning to this cafe - ever.

I only like to write reviews if they're positive, but our experience here was pretty terrible. It was a truly bad experience that I hope other travelers are able to avoid. The restaurant is near the main entrance of the Victorian Market right across the street from the train station so naturally this seems like a great spot for travelers to grab a quick bite to eat before catching a train. That was our hope, but honestly it turned out to be one of the biggest tourist traps I've seen in quite some time. We ordered toasties and lattes to go. The food was overpriced which could be understandable since it's close to the train station, but the food was honestly inedible. Our toasties were burned, bland, and tasted like something you'd grab at a gas station. I'm a huge coffee fan and will drink almost any coffee, but this latte was also terrible. Now while all of this was disappointing, we could've maybe shrugged it off as bad tourist food in a convenient location, but what happened next was very rude. We went to pay and the cashier quoted us one price, but then changed and said the final price was actually going to be higher than he first quoted. He said that it would actually cost us an extra £1 for our food because it was take away and not dining in. It felt like he changed the price on the spot, but they had made our food already so we didn't really have a choice. During our travels, we did "take away" many times at various restaurants in different cities and none of them ever charged us more for take away. Overall, there are much better restaurants in the Victorian Market with better food for lower prices. My suggestion would be to avoid this one.

Avoid if I was you. Food was awful. Left half my plate. Only sat there because there was seats and the main food hall was busy. Lesson learned for next time.

Visited for lunch today, food was awful, didn’t finish our meal. Barely any egg within egg sandwich, just lots of Mayo. The salad was so thinly dusted on the plate (a lettuce leaf, a slice of cucumber and 1/2 baby tomato). The slider burger (£12.99 and small chips for an extra £3.99?!) weren’t great either. We’ve had better burger van meals. Disappointed we went here for lunch and wasted £41 on 2x sausage butties , an egg Mayo sandwich, slider burger and chips, 2 diet cokes and 2 apple juices….

Delicious breakfast and very kind and nice host. We were a group and he also gave us a Scottish ancient flag as a souvenir. Recommended.

We were looking for breakfast in Inverness recently and came upon this wee cafe in The Victorian Market. We enjoyed a lovely cooked to order breakfast at a very reasonable price and were extremely delighted. When we left there were no tables available which shows how popular it is. A place we would recommend and return to.

I am very surprised by the low overall rating. I ate here two nights in a row - main, dessert and cocktail - as it was included in my accommodation package. The cocktails were nice, and the food and dessert tasty, and it meets my expectations for the restaurant attached to a three star hotel.
