It’s such a shame as when I visit family in Inverness, I always pop in to the Victorian market, so the cafe is in a fantastic spot. It’s an interesting wee place inside and all the signs are welcoming ....... except for the surly staff member or maybe it’s the owner? I didn’t get a welcome smile or acknowledgement. I wasn’t sure whether to order at the table and was just told in a matter of fact way that you order at the desk. There is an upstairs but this was blocked off for some reason. My snack was ok - took the edge off before my tea, I have given this place the benefit of the doubt before, but the service hasn’t improved. I went to the desk to pay and was asked what would I like to order!! I said I’ve eaten and I’m just wanting to pay. She just wasn’t interested. There’s plenty of other places in Inverness to spend your hard earned money. That’s the last time I spend mine in there I’m afraid.

The waitress did tell us there would be a delay due to her being on her own, which was ok. When the food did arrive it was our 3rd option as what we would have preferred was finished, this was at lunch time. Coffee was fine but the scone had been microwaved and was steaming, stodgy and basically inedible. Why would you do this without asking the customer first? Maybe we just arrived on an off day. Not cheap, disappointing and not for us.

Had 2 bacon rolls and 2 black coffees. Ordered at counter and paid, waited a bit , not sure why we bacon was microwaved, coffee was quite weak, bacon was really hard and barely warm, paid £10.70, as we were leaving noticed sign saying hot drink and bacon roll £4, that means £2.70 overcharged for mediocre food and sullen service. Won't be back, place was empty at lunchtime, makes you wonder why

The staff were friendly and helpful. As it was busy, they warned about a wait but really the food and coffee arrived fairly fast. The coffee was good and the panini was nice too. The atmosphere is very cosy, the seating was comfortable and the decorations were nice.

I’m a great believer in supporting local businesses. But never again! Loose leaf tea came, no strainer. Scone came freshly heated from microwave, disgusting, asked for an unheated one, it was stale! Couldn’t sit in the tea shop because of the reek of stale frying oil and smoke! £6.50 for two small cups of tea and a small stale scone we couldn’t eat. Starbucks for us!

We thought it might be a lovely tea shop and not one of the typical franchise places. I struggled to connect to the wifi whilst my husband ordered tea and cake. None of the two ladies who worked in the shop greeted or e er smiled, their mobile phones seemed to be more important than the few people having tea.

Visiting our son and his family in Inverness, my wife and I chanced upon this quiet, cosy and relaxing café. The owner was quite busy as she was on her own and warned us in advance that there would be a short wait. This was no problem for us and we appreciated being forewarned. We enjoyed two coffees that were served hot (unlike Costa etc where it is luke warm so that you don’t overstay your welcome!) a delicious home-cooked Lemon Drizzle cake and a Sausage Buttie. The Invernessians seem to be very laid-back and the owner was too. She was happy to talk to us about her recent engagement and we were very pleased for her and her partner. This flies in the face of some reviews as she could not have been more pleasant. This seems like the ideal venue for a breakfast, lunch or midday snack with a menu which is extensive enough without being intimidatingly large.

We thought we would give this place a go, wish we hadn’t bothered! I ordered black tea, as in no milk which seemed easy enough, but apparently not to the staff! I don’t like coffee served in the “jam jar” tall glasses, the lady said I could have it in a cup, excellent. Then I asked for 2 fruit scones and butter. What came to our table? The 2 scones which were almost eaten before the tea and coffee came along, black tea came with milk! And my coffee, yep in a glass “jam jar”. According to the server they were busy, but I placed the order a while back, I actually thought they had forgotten our drinks as they took so long. And I was shocked at the price, £10 !!!!!! What!!!!!! for two small scones a black tea and a coffee. We have had better for much less elsewhere, we will not return to this coffee shop.

Unfriendly staff (who believes you don't understand what they say because you are not fluent in english), tiny tiny scone, small pieces of cakes, delay... Nothing worth in this supposed "tearoom". The best you can do is find another place for your break and cream tea....

Beautiful little cafe situated within the victorian market. What a variety of freshly made cakes, scones etc. Excellent customer service and happy friendly staff. Tables are set out nicely with menus on each of the tables to have a look at the amazing choice of food on offer. It great that you order your items at the counter where everything is presented lovely along the counter and in the chiller.

We unfortunately discovered this whilst walking through the Victorian market. We sat down having been given one menu between the four of us, before we even had the chance to peruse the menu it was swiped off the table by the old dear next to us who hadn’t been given a menu in the first place. I finally found a menu and we decided what to order and were looking forward despite the shaky start. We never got the coffee. The man who was “working” in the teapot was pretty much non responsive to our calls for him to come over to take our order as he was too busy arranging his scones. He twice crashed into our seats and he still couldn’t take the hint that we were ready to order it was clear that he was out of depth in a tearoom. We packed up and left never to return.

The Little Teapot is the delightful place for a relaxing cup of coffee, cake or lunch. Toni and Andrew are the nicest, most welcoming cafe owners ever and the atmosphere here is blissful. Ask for recommendations of what to do in the area! All the cakes and other yummy treats are made by the owners or their family and are 100% delicious!

We discovered the Little Teapot while walking through the Victorian Market. We just needed a spot of tea and a place to sit for a while. The owners Toni and Andrew were so friendly. We were the only ones in the place so they sat with us and chatted about how they came to open a tea shop. They were also very helpful with our questions about getting out to Culloden Battlefield. "Just take the #5 bus straight to the battlefield" they told us. It was great. The scones were delicious and the company even better. Check out this little gem!

The young couple who own and run this teashop are the nicest people and they obvious love what they do. You get a sense of that the second you open the door. They are most accommodating and their food is delicious. If you are ever in Inverness, make it your business to stop in. You'll be most glad you did.

Stopped in for a bite to eat while walking through Inverness. It is a charming, quaint place with good sandwiches and a great tea selection. The owner was very friendly, and the place is clean and well-kept. I loved the fun pictures on the wall of, what appeared to be, the owner and her husband's holidays. Definitely recommended.

Good location in the Victorian Market, Inverness. Staff were friendly and everything looked attractive - but unfortunately I ordered quiche, which wouldn't have won any prizes in the Bake-Off, Soggy pastry, curdled eggy, cheesy topping and lots and lots of onions, which I tasted for the rest of the day. Dull salad accompaniment. A disappointing snack lunch.

Some outside seating in front of the café, which is located inside the covered Victorian Market. Good selection of homemade cakes and scones but when we asked, neither of the two staff on duty knew what the cakes were, so we were not sure who made them and where the 'homemade' came from! Toasted teacakes were also nice and fresh; tea was good and the staff were helpful and friendly.

We visit the Highlands 2 or 3 times a year and always visit Inverness. No visit to Inverness is complete without a visit to the Little Teapot as far as I am concerned. We always pop in for a cuppa and a scone/slice of cake. On our latest visit, I tried a fudge scone and it was delicious!!! The staff are all very friendly, it is always spotless and we have always enjoyed their baking. I love it here and would highly recommend a visit.

Came across this cafe in the Victorian Market. Although nearly time for closing the staff welcomed us in. We had an Americano and a luxury hot chocolate. Both excellent. We also had the Raspberry and Coconut slice which again was excellent. Not at all pricey given what you will pay at the bigger chain shops and definitely more friendly. Can truly recommend this cafe and when back in Inverness will definitely visit again. Hope you all enjoyed your Sunday off.

I am very surprised by the low overall rating. I ate here two nights in a row - main, dessert and cocktail - as it was included in my accommodation package. The cocktails were nice, and the food and dessert tasty, and it meets my expectations for the restaurant attached to a three star hotel.
