Corner on the Square in Highland

Having used the deli for many many years, I have been in a few times since the takeover and been slightly disappointed each time. This time it put the seal on us never using it again. I don’t mind paying for good quality, tasty food. But the venison chorizo quiche we got were tasteless with very little (3 pieces at most) of ‘chorizo’ and no real flavour other than egg. The salmon bagel was rock hard but had a great amount of salmon on it. The BLT with garlic mayo was tasteless due to the tomatoes being huge thick chunks from what seemed to be large cooking tomatoes. The toffee muffins were enjoyed by the kids. £35 is what I expect to pay for this type of food but I do want it done well and to have taste. I’m afraid after many years of using the deli, we won’t be going again.

It was a delightful place for us to stop and experience the wonderful local ambiance. The staff members were exceptionally friendly, and the food was truly delicious. There was an extensive variety of options available, including cakes, savory items, and other delectable treats.

Me and my daughter had breakfast which was really tasty. Also had a bit of cake and coffee. All very good. Staff friendly and professional.

Sadly COTS has went downhill rapidly over the past couple of years, the food is great and the products they sell are great but the staff service is very poor and just keeps getting worse and its now getting talked about a lot in the local area as the place to stay away from. The past three times ive been in Ive ended up walking out because I just didnt get served and in my latest visit I sat for 35 minutes in a half empty shop waiting for someone to take my order but no one was interested. Sorry Tara but you are taking people for mugs and if you cant be bothered then sell the place to someone who does care for the customers. We wont be back.

Living in the local area Ive used the deli for many years but over the past two years the service has become very poor to the point of being just not worth the trouble. This weekend I popped in with a friend and as it was early it wasnt particularly busy, three staff on the floor and we sat for 35 minutes without being served. Complete and utter waste of time and sadly the owner is just taking the customers for idiots. Dont waste your time visiting as you will be disapointed and if the owner reads this then do yourself a favour and either get decent staff or sell the business to someone who actually cares about the customers and doesnt just see them as mugs to rip off.

Very busy and lovely cake, significantly overcharged, no receipt offered, so any refund refused by owner, despite staff agreeing to it over the phone. Very disappointing as good but not worth double the cost.

Marlenka Cake is amazing, great coffee!

This place is usually buzzing, especially during cruise ship season. This is a good thing because seating is cosy (tight) and it's fun chatting with people from other places. The menu has something for everyone and is stellar. I especially love the Birria tacos, pro-tip; ask for extra napkins and a finger bowl if you order this. Service is genuinely friendly, efficient and attentive. They have a deli style counter stuffed with cheeses, meats, plus baked sweet stuff. Great place, don't walk past, go on in!

Simply stunning food. A delicatessen of the highest standard with service to match. Very dog friendly. You can eat either inside or outside.

We stopped in for brunch. I had scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon and my boyfriend had avocado on toast with poached eggs and bacon. The portions were massive and food was so good, high quality and very tasty. Such good value for money. Grabbed a mars Krispie slice to take away - perfect sweet treat for later. Staff were super friendly and attentive as well.

We visit this deli/cafe every time we visit the Black Isle and the food and service is always reliably good. It gets busy as it's popular but the staff are very helpful, phoning us when a table was free. The sea food sharing platter was wonderful. The Deli stocks a wide range of quality food, spirits and wine, and offers lots of temptation!

Busy shop and cafe. Delicious food. Tacos looked amazing, I had a toastie with salad. Homemade banana milkshake was great. Great cakes too. I will definitely remember to come back next time I'm in the area. Really want to try those tacos!

Great fish chowder, hearty and tasty. It comes with thick slices of homestyle rustic bread. The cold cucumber mint water was a hit! The waitress was kind enough to make me a fresh brewed iced tea too. Located on a charming little street.

Nice little café in Beauly that offers a wide range of rolls, pies and other breakfast stuff. They also have gluten free options. The strawberry or apple-cinnamon flapjack are marvellous.

After reading the reviews we were excited to try here but sadly found the food to be lacking. The macaroni cheese was particularly disappointing. We had takeaway so couldn’t let them know this at the time. Venison burger was very good but sadly macaroni cheese disappointing and cake dry. Expensive and overhyped in my opinion!

As a family we have visited this cafe while on holiday for the last 10+ years. Visited today and had a disappointing experience. On arrival, myself and husband were asked sit on the least appealing table for two (middle of room), despite there being at least two other better positioned tables available. I noticed subsequent customers not being directed by waiting staff where they should sit. Despite there being 5-6 waiting staff on the floor they appeared very disorganised and seemed more focused on chatting to each other around the till, instead of being accessible and attentive to customers. Consequently, this affected our and other customers service in a very negative way. When our coffees arrived I asked for extra hot water, as the coffee was quite strong. The waitress took an age to return only to bring me a pot of lukewarm tap water! She was a waitress in training and looked lost, without adequate instruction & supervision. So, I had to ask another waitress to bring me some HOT WATER. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this cafe or recommending it, as there is a poor level of customer service and the place just feels as if it's going through the motions.

Service was very slow, lots of young waitresses standing about doing nothing, lots of eye rolling from them going on in full view of customers, food was lukewarm and below average, all aspects have gone down hill recently which is a shame as it used to be excellent..... Cake was the only redeeming feature of our meal

We went to have dinner after a long drive. The place is very local and dinner was tasty and delicious. My family ordered pizzas and all were very pleased. It is good the menu has choices for those who wants to find light meals. I had the caprice salad and Cesar Salad. All good quality and delicious.

Finally a place in Scotland where we have been able to eat very good, homemade food. The delicious soups, especially the fish one.

A small delicatessen with a large selection and the opportunity to enjoy warm dishes. As a welcome we were given free mint water with cucumber. We were very happy about it. We tried the cheese macaroni and the quiche, and both dishes were outstanding. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were particularly impressed by the quality of the food - the best quiche and macaroni we've ever had! We sat outside the restaurant. My opinion: Absolutely recommended, with super delicious food.

Beautiful afternoon in a beautiful location

Unexpected deli in Beauly with lots of high quality produce and nice sandwiches. Could be more vegetarian options but otherwise nice. Cakes looked outstanding and the one I had was delicious.

What a lovely shop and cafe with lots of interesting things to buy. I visited yesterday with my friend who requires assistance. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond. We will definitely be back for a visit soon.

Table service was pleasant and quick but kitchen very slow! Took over 30 mins for 2 breakfasts which wasn't great & not much for £13.50 each plus coffee ..won't recommend. Over £30 for 2 breakfast and 2 coffee..not worth it.

16.50 £ for 2 bad small lattes and 2 little portion of lemon drizzle. Robbery!!

Guys, love your place. Visit often. Great service, food and pizza. But please stop selling hard-as-rock croissants. Bought two today as a Sunday treat but they are not fresh again.

This is a lovely venue for lunch and have eaten here many times before. The chicken and the venison burgers are delicious. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because there is no disabled access to the toilets. I understand that space is limited in the toilet area, but they could easily fit grab rails which would enable someone with crutches to pull themselves up. This makes this restaurant a no go place for two of my friends at the moment.

Popped in for lunch today and stayed for 3 hrs! What a treat, fantastic food with a marvellous deli and an amazing selection of unusual alcohol beverages. Not often I leave a place full up so this will be the first of many visits from now on. Prompt and friendly service in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Can't recommend highly enough!

Really cute deli/ cafe! We needed some lunch after driving up from Glencoe and a local at a camera shop pointed us to here. I decided on a simple sandwich but didn’t expect to get so much food! It was delicious and very filling! They also have baked goods you can purchase like breads and cakes.

This restaurant saved our evening in Beauly where there really isn't much.

We came across this little restaurant by chance during our stay here in Scotland, and it was a very pleasant surprise! The food was excellent, the service was wonderful (restaurant full, they found us a seat very quickly). As soon as we settled in, we were served a pitcher of water and another of water flavored with mint and cucumber! Fast service and choice for all tastes! I recommend !

wow just wow, a real hidden gem that serves up the very best of,,,, well everything really. We had lunch, soup, sandwiches, steak pie and salt and chilli wrap. All fantastic but the best was the coffee. Holly heavens the coffee - to die for. Wish I knew what blend. 10/10 and very highly recommended.

Lovely place, wonderful people! Food was a bit delayed as they were busy and my soup and sandwich, whilst yummy was actually wrong... but eaten anyway! They have devised a system to seat you as its super busy. You arrive, they take your phone number and call you when the tables are ready. It works. You wait around 10 minutes. We didn't have that...as we beat the queue.

Had a takeaway pizza, and it was lush. Have been back a couple of times now.

The real thing that's changed with the new owners, is that standards for service and food are now consistently very good rather than being sometimes good (as they were with the previous owner). I live less than two miles away and go here for breakfast or lunch with my wife maybe once every two weeks or so, and we always now really enjoy it. It's also really nice to buy stuff from the deli after you meal. And the coffee is just excellent.

This is a real jewel in the Highlands. We visited for lunch twice on two recent visits to Beauly. They pass where so many fail by noticing when you walk through the door even when very busy. You are greeted and waiting times if required explained. Staff are very friendly and attentive, they work really hard. The food was excellent and there was a real buzz about the place. Enough choice for me as a Vegetarian. If you're in Beauly, look no further for a lovely lunch. We will be back without hesitation when we're next in the area.

Stopped here on a recommendation and it was really good. Staff are so friendly and welcoming and the shop is lovely to sit in and look at all the deli food on offer whilst perusing the menu, which is really varied and interesting. I had the very best venison burger in my life and my partner had a delicious chicken burger. Both were fresh and really ell cooked, served with a dressed salad and some lovely crisps. Good alcoholic and soft drink selection, plus a lovely variety of sweets and savoury things from the deli counter. I'll abosllutley come back here next time im in town and recommend that you do too!

I was there to celebrate a birthday with friends. The restaurant was very busy to the extent that they were having to turn people away. The food was delicious, and our server Lorraine's was so lovely. She had a bit of humour and clearly enjoyed interacting with the public. We ended up chatting to the owner Tara and her story is amazing. She's done so well to make this business so prosperous, and she clearly loves what she does. Her kindness towards us that day was superb and will never be forgotten. She's a real ambassador for good food, wine and Prosecco! I will be back at Corner on the Square soon to enjoy this amazing place.

First time there this lunch time. We had an idea it was going to be good, but it was fantastic. Our Waitress was Amanda and she was really friendly and helpful - thanks Amanda. The food was just superb. I had Fish Chowder and my wife had the Mac Cheese - both delicious. We will definitely be back there soon.

Excellent food, the friendliest, welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. We were made to feel so welcome that we went back the next day for breakfast again. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had and the prices are very reasonable. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely return.

Went in to get a coffee and bacon roll. Was told to sit where I liked. I gound a cree table and sat down only to be told to move minutes later. I did, to the nice, friendly Italian cafe just down the road.

Called in for coffee with a friend. Waitress service by some lovely ladies. There is also a wide selection of food stuff for sale from bread to chutneys. Good atmosphere in the place and it was spotless too.
