Visited after climbing the Ben for my first time. Beer was good, food was excellent. Definatley recommend dining here after the strenuous climb. Staff where helpful. 10/10

The staff were very kind to let me in while I was completely drenched and knackered after the Ben Nevis hike in the evening.

The Inn is located at the bottom of the Ben Nevis trail. It's a cosy and clean place to stay. The kitchenette is well stocked with utensils and basic coffee and tea facilities, plus a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge. I really liked it. The only negative was that you can feel the springs through the mattress, which was slightly uncomfortable.

An absolutely fabulous place. Quirky but wonderful. Great food and beer. Located at the base of the path up Ben Nevis, seating consists of benches and individual tables that means you may end up on a bench with others, but that's one of the quirks of the place. Stunning food, really tasty menu options including Chicken and Haggis Rumbledethumps, and Venison Sausages with a Stornoway Black Pudding and horseradish mash. Then a really wonderful Peanut Butter and White Chocolate Cheesecake to follow, which is to die for. Lovely moreish ale, Wildcat from the Cairngorm Brewery topped off a lovely meal and evening. Fabulous.

Always a lovely meal here, consistently good quality and delicious food. My favourite place to eat, I wish we lived closer. Friendly and attentive staff. Lots of choice of food and drink. Caters well for children too.

Great place to relax after climbing Ben Nevis. Had a unusual pint of beer, which was lovely. Great atmosphere too.

We did not visit this place but I give it a rating of 5/5 because the employees allowed us to leave our belongings there (tents, sleeping bag) for the day while we climbed Ben Nevis. A big thank you to the girl who worked outside and who was extremely kind to us. We need more people like that 😊

We dined in the restaurant for dinner - amazing food, views and lovely staff. Would highly recommend! Only thing - the overhead lighting was far too bright and impacted the atmosphere.

The food in the attached restaurant was really good, very flavorful and large portions. Quite expensive for that. The room was a functional, comfortably furnished hostel room with double bunk beds. Unfortunately with a few small defects and a little too little space for six people, there was a table with four chairs, but there was a nice little kitchen.

Cracking food great place warm and friendly

The food and drinks at the restaurant were great! The bunkhouse was perfect for our family of 4. The faucet in the shower has to be pushed every 30 seconds to remain on in an effort to conserve water, but it wasn’t bad. Everything else was wonderful and the views in the morning and evening were beautiful! The staff was very attentive and quick to help!

Food review! What a gem! So far our favourite place to eat in Scottish Highlands! The reviews are not wrong Ate her as family of 4, two teenagers. Managed to get table no on Easter Sunday evening, after our climb. Mouth watering dishes, good choice of ales and whisky ( we didn't try the latter). The flavours are really good and have that extra twist, my whiskey pepper sauce was out of this world! Really innovative, good portion food with very fair prices! Daughter also spoke highly of her brownie for pudding. Service was good and quick, even when they said wait will be long it wasn't.

Very warm and pleasant place and service. The setting is truly magnificent and the meal delicious (especially after a big hike). Great value for money! Sheep wake you up in the morning, it’s incredible. Thanks to the whole hostel team :)

Warm cosy and a fun crowd. I arrived on a Tuesday night. It was folk music jamming night.

Amazing food piping hot, best food we have had in Fort William well worth a visit if you in the area you won't be disappointed.

Couldn’t visit as not dog friendly, be better. Judging by the owner’s not-so-professional responses on here, the food is probably so salty it’s inedible anyway…

We stayed at one of the bunkhouses underneath the Inn for a couple of nights, the accommodation was great, basic but well equipped for a base whilst exploring local walks and sights. We came into the Inn a couple of times for drinks/meal. It's a fantastic little Inn with a brilliant atmosphere and delicious food. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic food. I didn’t stay here, however, the food was surprisingly delicious. The service on point as well ! I went there after trekking on the ben nevis mountain. We were all happy with the food served there. Definitely recommend truffle fries, mushroom and cream soup and the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows

I stayed on the night of the 29th of December and was kept awake until 1am from the room next door playing loud music, singing, and presumably dancing around. Not ideal for when we have to be awake at 5am to climb the Ben before the storm hit! The room a few doors down where smoking at the front door for a worrying amount of time and we could smell it with the window open a crack. The guest WiFi wasn't working for either me or my roommates. The sign outside the restaurant reading "fine food" is an overstatement. I paid £19 for a flavourless burger and dry chips. Extremely disappointing. First and last time coming here.

We never stayed at the pub but we were allowed to stay the night in our van in the free carpark which was good as we live full time in out van and a storm hit the day before Christmas Eve 🎄. Thank you.. The pub was closed for the holidays but we will return..

The Ben Nevis Inn never fails to deliver on location, atmosphere, and food. Would highly recommend it, but, remember to book in advance.

Stayed here one night whilst driving the NC500, we parked in the public parking bays at the side of the Inn, they don't allow campervans in their carpark. We had a meal here, although the food was average the actual Inn itself had more appeal, a solid building built from local stone plus its at the start of the Ben Nevis hike. Offered good shelter from the storm that hit mid October 2023.

Nice stop after a walk or when you have been up the mountain. Friendly, good food.

The ideal location for bed and dinner/drinks after a hike up Ben Nevis. Rooms were clean and warm, and the showering facilities were ample even for a group of 8. The staff in the bar and restaurant area were fantastic. The food and drink was also very good.

I only went to the restaurant and it was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, I had haggis and the cranachan. Yum!

We stayed overnight, in our M/home. We had a meal and drinks😁, enjoyed the food, reasonably priced. Sadly the weather was awful, so didn't partake in a walk.

Den Ben Nevis besteigen und hinterher bei schönstem Wetter ein Bier im Inn zu genießen sollte man mal erlebt haben. Gutes Bier, gutes Essen, Gleichgesinnte und ein besonderer Flair dieses Ortes machen es einfach aus👍 Leider wurde das Hostel zu einem 4* Hotel umgebaut , das ist sehr schade und nimmt diesem Teil des Inn's den besonderen Flair, da die Klientel nun eine andere ist.sehr schade

Decent, if a bit of a trudge to get there. Only had pots of tea, but the meals others were having looked OK, and there seemed to be a reasonable choice of drinks too.

Had the most delicious soup here, the atmosphere was beautiful and warm. It was raining outside and with all of the beautiful old timber finishes inside as well as the lovely firing going there is no place better.

Very welcoming, great food and atmosphere

Staff were all very polite and attentive. The pub had loads of character and vibe. The menu was exactly what we enjoy, so we were spoiled for choice! Quality of the food itself was outstanding especially for the very fair price. The selection of beers and wines were again top notch. The best food and overall dining experience we've had in a long time. If only we had more pubs like this 🙏

This is a review for the restaurant. Staff were friendly ,welcoming and efficient. Lovely location and atmosphere. Good amount of choice on the menu. Food and drink were so good we have been twice. Would recommend. Just worth noting - dogs not permitted inside.

It's well worth seeking this place at the foot of Ben Nevis out, although I imagine that on a good day it will be quite busy. The food was plentiful and reasonably priced.

Coyldnt try the resistant/bar as we've come specially in our road trip, as we had heard good things about the food and looked forward to trying for ourselves.Shame we couldn't, as we couldn't take the dogs in , on the evening we visited , it was raining very heavily and dogs were only allowed in the beer garden which would have been ridiculous. How much business does This venue lose because of that

We visited for a large family meal with some family local, and others travelling. We were given a big space and accommodated well, especially considering how busy it was. We prebooked (which I suggest you do) as it is at the foot of Ben Nevis so is very busy with tourists. The food and service were top notch.

Right....don't know where to start. This place is like no other!! I did reviews for hundreds of pubs and inns across the country. I gave my opinions about best pubs in many areas. But this time.... im brave enough to say this is the BEST PUB IN THE WHOLE UK! Atmosphere is sending you back in time. Imagine you coming back from climbing highest mountain in UK. It's cold, you are wet and dead tired. And right and the bottom this pub is waiting for you...with best service, food and live music. Not just music! Real scottish folk!!! I could probably write a book about this place, but you just have to come and see it.... everyone who works in that place must be very proud! Thank you so much!

Inn is amazing, great food, friendly staff and live local music on Tuesdays. The bunk house is very basic but has everything you need.

My 4 friends and I booked a room at the Ben Nevis Inn as our first stop for our 3 peak challenge in aid of charity, ready to take on the Ben Nevis in the morning. We called them on route as we were going to be late for food and the kitchen closed at 8:30 however they let us pre order our food and kept the kitchen open for our late arrival. The food was outstanding, generous portions, impeccable flavour and reasonably priced, washed down nicely with probably one of the finest ales that has touched my lips. The rooms were clean and modern, had all the amenities you needed and more! The staff were more than accommodating, helpful, caring and very efficient, im confident the owner would be safe in the knowledge that his staff are more than capable of providing a professional and friendly service! My car had broke down and my recovery provider was useless and couldn’t sort my hire car out or recovery without me holding their hand so I had to do it myself in order for us to complete the 3 peak challenge in time. We went back in to the Ben Nevis Inn for another beautifully cooked lunch and of course another ale at which point we needed a lift to the garage where our hire car would await us. After calling round numerous taxi services and having no hope, I asked the staff if there would be anyone willing to take us down the road to Fort William to collect our transport at which point the owner literally jumped at the opportunity without hesitation! He took us to the garage to collect the car and held on to my vehicle keys ready to collect in the morning. He, like his staff, was very kind for doing this and very hospitable, in his words ‘it’s nice to be nice’! I cannot fault this place one bit, if I could give it 6 stars that would still not be enough. So thank you to all but especially the owner for doing what he did Myself and all my friends are more than pleased with their help and will be eternally grateful for everything the owner done for us. If you are looking for a place to eat or stay you will not find a better place than the Ben Nevis Inn, I know we will certainly be back! See you again

Un arrêt très chouette pour manger un morceau à l’intérieur ou au soleil à l’extérieur. Le fish&chips était vraiment très bon et très frais. Le burger est super généreux. Les chiens sont acceptés en extérieur. Très bonne gestion des allergies. Nous sommes repartis après une petite sieste dans l’herbe revigorés et le ventre plein.

Noice food, good to visit after climbing ben nevis

What a welcome sight after walking Ben Nevis! We were so lucky to be able to walk in and get a table so we could eat a wholesome meal and top up on drinks after the long walk! The food was amazing, we all enjoyed our meals. The staff were great, I think they realised how hungry and thirsty we were! Cannot fault this place. Will definitely visit again but it won't be after a 2nd climb up Ben Nevis!!!

Ben Nevis Inn and Bunkhouse was more than what we expected. We stayed there prior to our Ben Nevis climb! Excellent lunch and dinner. The waiteresses was very friendly and attentive, hard working and good looking... The sleep at the bunkhouse was good with an good outdoor, mountain feeling. I recommend the establisment!

Easiest 5 star review ever. Chicken and Haggis Rumbledethumps with Peppercorn Whiskey Sauce is a killer dish. One of the best dishes ever had. Wife got a big Ale battered Cod and Chips. Chips were better than most with a massive portion of fish. Sticky toffee pudding had Christmassy feel to it. Nice and warm.

Went for dinner. Lovely views and great atmosphere. My wife had the special of the day, and I had the haggis topped chicken with rumbledethumps. Hers was great and mine was pretty good, but the chicken was a little tough. We split the sticky toffee desert, and it was quite good. Service was friendly even if they kind of forgot about us twords the end of the meal.

A gorgeous Inn at the foot of Ben Nevis. The food and drink are amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful. I wanted to give this place 5 stars but I don't like the prices of they're food. Very expensive for my taste but, don't let that put you off. Its still a great place and, if you can get a seat, we'll worth popping in for a cuppa or cold beverage after your gruelling journey up and down the mountain.
