Nice bar/eatery at the foot of Ben Nevis a couple of mile outside of fort William. It’s literally at the start of one of the walks up to the summit. A few ales on from local cairngorm brewery including a ruby one (wildcat) a citrusy hoppy ale (tradewind) and a stout (black gold) I tried all the ale and enjoyed my first time on them. I visited on a Friday evening and it was busy with walkers. All tables booked for food so if you want to eat you’d best ring ahead. You can sit on sofas upstairs or stand at the (small) bar or outside just to drink. It does clear out later and space becomes available. Large enough carpark but there is parking nearby for a stop over with no restriction or cost. Also does bunkhouse accommodation. Recommended 🍻 🏔️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A great spot if not blowing a gale and raining! Better weather would give a better experience. We booked because on a Tuesday there is live music. We were staying in Fort William so not a huge drive but a dark winding road to navigate, we thought it would be worth it. The food was okay….. I had fish and chips. In my humble opinion the fish could have survived another 3/4 mins. Perfect for some but not cooked enough for me, slimy and uncooked batter. My husband had the venison sausages, nice but a bit tough although I guess they are? The live music didn’t happen…..to be fair apparently the first time in 15 years so I guess our bad luck. Nice place overall and as in everywhere in this area fantastic friendly staff!

We called in here a couple of times during our stay in Fort William. The Inn is ideally located to the foot of Ben Nevis and comfortably accommodates walkers and outdoor types. We had lunch and dinner, there is good variety to choose from the menu and they accommodate vegan and gluten free options, all clearly labelled (this is a big plus for coeliacs). Food quality and service was very good.

We didn't eat at the inn but it was very busy every evening. Rooms were a good size, basic but well decorated and with everything you need. Mattresses and pillows were comfy. Each bed has it's own usb point to charge your phone and a lamp. Good shower pressure too. In a great location for walking Ben Nevis and views. Only negative was the price- it was very expensive for what you get (but it was peak season). Would definitely recommend.

This place is amazing. Always has been, always will. Sorry I’ve not left a review before but I will now: Best food. Great portion sizes. Fab hard working staff. To harsh reviewers: don’t be rude about the staff- they work so hard. It’s the restaurant at the foot of the Ben so it gets overwhelmingly busy so give them a break if at times they seemed a bit rushed off their feet; the amount of hikers they get on a daily basis who at times are bound to be grumpy with tiredness after a long day- sometimes stressed from variable weather conditions at the top of the Ben. The only negative reviews otherwise seem to be about the place not being dog friendly. I am as dog friendly as it gets, I am a huge dog lover BUT I completely understand their reasoning for not allowing them inside. They do not deserve such negative reviews for this reason. It’s so unfair. And also at the end of the day their decision. Get over it. To say it’s ridiculous because of the amount of dogs that go to the Ben etc why on earth have you not looked in to it before hand before bringing your dog?! You must be aware that you are going up the busiest route in the uk…. One of the biggest attractions. So you can’t honestly expect to just waltz on in without booking a table and checking the dog situation. Anyway, going back to my positive review of this wonderful restaurant- you never disappoint guys. Food so yum and such good ambience. Thank you!

This is just an observation and not a criticism we felt the big sign in plastic saying Ben Nevis Inn ruins the overall look and feel of the place. Stayed here for a single night on our roadtrip. The rooms are new and the service is friendly. However I don't understand the 4 star hotel rating at the slightest. A 4 star hotel in asia would offer more comfort. We got bunkbed rooms and a shower that operates by pushbutton like on a campsite or a hostel. In that view it is expensive and the amenities are not up to par. The shower was the biggest pain and the main reason for my low rating. There was no thermostat and the water stopped flowing after 5 to 15 seconds. An apalling experience to have a shower in. I can understand you are trying to save water but there are better solutions for that and doesn't explain why there is no way to control the temperature. Consider it to be a backbacker stopover if the price fits you. You can expect nature but not any luxury.

Stopped in here for a meal and drink after a day out in the hills - it's well placed for this and overlooks the glorious Glen Nevis valley. The pub has been here a while, I can remember going in back in 2007 although unsure if it's the same owners as back then. Unfortunately, it does go a bit downhill from here - we had the falafel burger (choices for veggies limited to two options when we were there, the other was spaghetti with soy mince) and it was almost inedible it was so dry - a bit steep at £17.50. The beer was in reasonable condition and there were three good local(ish, from the highlands anyway) beers on cask, but at over £6 a pint even considering the location that's a bit extreme. It's a pity - the location is stunning, but the quality of food on our visit and the price of the beer dissuaded us from returning during the remainder of our holiday in the area.
