Ondanks dat het redelijk druk was, had men toch een plekje voor 2. Het is een pub/restaurant, straalt gezelligheid uit. Personeel was erg vriendelijk.

On a adoré.

The Ben Nevis Inn was a great experience for us! After a long day of hiking, we decided to give the restaurant a go. We hadn’t booked a table, but the lovely staff were able to fit us in regardless. We did have to order from a limited menu (due to not having pre-booked) but the food was divine & worth every mouthful!

We had a perfect 2-day stay at the Ben Nevis Inn, surrounded by sheep and lambs. The beds are comfortable, rooms clean and beautiful, the bathroom is large and when you step outside, you really feel like you're in a fairytale. We were deciding where to eat after our attempt to conquer* Ben Nevis and had spotted the Ben Nevis Inn on our way up. We were all thinking that they would 'just' serve standard Pub Grub, but what we were served was far more than that. The children chicken nuggets looked and tasted like gourmet like chicken nuggets, made from chicken breast. I had set my eyes on the Chicken & Haggis Rumbledethumps which was just amazing, cooked and presented to perfection. My wife had the fish and chips, which was a big piece of cod wrapped in a golden jacket of crispy batter, the desserts (brownies and tablet cheesecake) were just as great as the main courses. 10/10 would 'attempt-to-climb-Ben-Nevis-only-to-make-it-to-300-meters-and-have-lunch-at-the-Ben-Nevis-Inn' again. Service was great too. Definitely recommend by myself and my family. *We didn't make it to the top.

Just had a birthday dinner with my partner and her daughter tonight. Asked if the staff (Tom) over the phone could they bring a birthday cake I bought as a surprise to the table. No problem I got told. Went through the whole meal paid the bill and said I better take the cake you NEVER brought to the table only to be told I didn't know when to take it over. Any time would have been appropriate. Raging does not even cover how I feel about being let down like that. A major birthday like that comes just once. Thanks Ben Nevis inn.

The venue: No frills but super-cosy and inviting. Benches run the length of the main building, log burner in the corner and some cute fairy lights. The food: I defy you to find a better neeps and tatties. Between us and our two friends, we've collectively been here four times now (it's hundreds of miles from home, we don't take the journey lightly!) and we've never been disappointed. I can't bring myself to deviate from the rumbledethumps but my husband had the venison burger and it was off-the-charts good. The service: Charming and genuine, and as consistent as the food.

The best thing is this place surrounded by sheep! So, your first morning view once you open the room will be an innocent sheep chewing grass while staring at you. Yess, and you are still half awake, can be a good staring contest. There's no stove in the room, quite a small portion of cutlery and in a bunkbed style. The reception is in the restaurant, in a separate building and will be closed before midnight. No grocery store nearby, Behind the room was Ben Nevis, magnificent to see in every part of the day, unless super thick fog started to appear.

My experience with the staff has been amazing which I would like to share. It was my first experience with climbing Ben Nevis with a group. I found the experience challenging due to weather conditions and after coming down I lost my iphone just outside the inn whilst looking for my coach. I couldn’t find it then and left leaving my details at the inn. After a few days I got a call from the inn staff who said it was handed in and they offered to send it across to me free of charge (Royal Mail collection from there wasn’t possible at the time). I was very touched by the kindness shown by the staff, thank you.

Nice bar/eatery at the foot of Ben Nevis a couple of mile outside of fort William. It’s literally at the start of one of the walks up to the summit. A few ales on from local cairngorm brewery including a ruby one (wildcat) a citrusy hoppy ale (tradewind) and a stout (black gold) I tried all the ale and enjoyed my first time on them. I visited on a Friday evening and it was busy with walkers. All tables booked for food so if you want to eat you’d best ring ahead. You can sit on sofas upstairs or stand at the (small) bar or outside just to drink. It does clear out later and space becomes available. Large enough carpark but there is parking nearby for a stop over with no restriction or cost. Also does bunkhouse accommodation. Recommended 🍻 🏔️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A great spot if not blowing a gale and raining! Better weather would give a better experience. We booked because on a Tuesday there is live music. We were staying in Fort William so not a huge drive but a dark winding road to navigate, we thought it would be worth it. The food was okay….. I had fish and chips. In my humble opinion the fish could have survived another 3/4 mins. Perfect for some but not cooked enough for me, slimy and uncooked batter. My husband had the venison sausages, nice but a bit tough although I guess they are? The live music didn’t happen…..to be fair apparently the first time in 15 years so I guess our bad luck. This place is amazing. Always has been, always will. Sorry I’ve not left a review before but I will now: Best food. Great portion sizes. Fab hard working staff. To harsh reviewers: don’t be rude about the staff- they work so hard. It’s the restaurant at the foot of the Ben so it gets overwhelmingly busy so give them a break if at times they seemed a bit rushed off their feet; the amount of hikers they get on a daily basis who at times are bound to be grumpy with tiredness after a long day- sometimes stressed from variable weather conditions at the top of the Ben. The only negative reviews otherwise seem to be about the place not being dog friendly. I am as dog friendly as it gets, I am a huge dog lover BUT I completely understand their reasoning for not allowing them inside. They do not deserve such negative reviews for this reason. It’s so unfair. And also at the end of the day their decision. Get over it. To say it’s ridiculous because of the amount of dogs that go to the Ben etc why on earth have you not looked in to it before hand before bringing your dog?! You must be aware that you are going up the busiest route in the uk…. One of the biggest attractions. So you can’t honestly expect to just waltz on in without booking a table and checking the dog situation. Anyway, going back to my positive review of this wonderful restaurant- you never disappoint guys. Food so yum and such good ambience. Thank you!

My usual place to go for a nice Cullen skink (best one in town!) with a side of chips. Always like the atmosphere and food here :)

Great views over the area, only missed 5 stars as the long trail up the west side is cut off by several deer fences that are not shown on the map and require a cross country detour

Véritable Scottish Breakfast ! Délicieux dans un endroit à l’abris, avec des locaux habitués ! Un excellent rapport qualité/prix ! 😊👍🏻
