Best meal, cup of coffee, and service that I've received in my trip all over Scotland! I was greeted by friendly staff then served the best cafe mocha I've ever had in my entire life. They have a full espresso setup and the barista has obviously acquired some skills over the years. Then I ordered the traditional Scottish breakfast, vegan style. Vegan haggis, hash browns, potato scone, vegan sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, and toast. Everything on the plate was cooked well and deliciously spiced. I've never had a traditional Scottish breakfast to compare it to, but my local friends said it looked up to par! Wonderful food and wonderful service all whilst the staff was being kind and generous to an unhoused man whom they allowed to sit at a table. Well done, Jammy Piece! You're a shining light in this world.

Went in twice in 1 day, after walking past everyone I was up in Inverness. Parking out front, with plenty of parking round the corner at the industrial park. Surprisingly bigger inside than you expect. Nicely decorated, with a decent menu at good prices. Cakes all look good. Tea cones in a cup and no problem getting extra hot water for a tea Jenny like me. Definitely go back. Sorry no photos.

Waitress took our drinks order so we could view the menu...when she came back she took our food order and I noticed she didn't have a order pad with her. We saw two tables come in after us get food and we still hadn't seen our food order we called the waitress across and asked where our food was she came back and said the kitchen had lost our check...I suspect she was so busy she got sidetracked and forgot to write our order on a check....we decided to leave at this point went to pay for our drinks and were told by the chef they were on the house. So the visit wasn't a complete bust

We came in today 17th November 2023 on a busy lunch,we were seated straight away and given menu’s to look through. I chose a black americano coffee and my wife had a mocha both arrived quickly and were delicious I believe they are Inverness coffee company. For food I ordered the beef muirtown wrap and my wife had the soup which was leek and potato both were served quickly and piping hot perfect for a cold day. The gravy that came with the wrap was possibly the best gravy I’ve ever tasted it actually had pieces of beef in it. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Will definitely be returning when in the area again. 5 stars

Very average breakfast, expensive for what it was. Have had better elsewhere. A cold wet Sunday and the door was open, we were cold during our visit. For the price paying you would expect it to be cooked to order, sadly it is not. We could see the kitchen and everything was precooked. Very disappointing. Only cooked ingredients were the fried egg and toast.

I recently visited and felt the service was poor given the fact it is currently takeaway only (due to lockdown) the prices do not reflect being served through a window. The lady who served us was abrupt and was away before we had time to ask a question about our order as she called ours out and dumped it. The bread on my sandwich wasn't fresh which I'd expect given the overpriced food! I don't mind paying premium for high quality service and good food which on this occasion I did not receive.

La otra chica estaba charlando y me ignoró. Me miraron y ella siguió charlando con su colega de trabajo. Yo estaba tan molesta. Salí del centro de Eastgate. My wife suggested here for a quick lunch. And I was very pleased with the results. The menu is neat but covers a few choices for everyone. She had proper home made soup unlike a number of well known Inverness restaurants which only use tin soup dressed up under a big price. An excellent sandwich without loads of unnecessary salad ESPECIALLY out of season greens. I chose a very simple baked potato with mince, accompanied with the most delicious white pudding. Great to see such simple ideas back on a menu. Unfortunately it is not table service which means ordering and paying prior to eating but this also means quicker service and table through put. Only minor blemish was the poor appearance of the outside door which has badly flaking paint in an unflattering and unwelcoming colour. Please make it warmer and appealing and this would be brilliant.

We have passed the cafe on the canal road a few times and as we were on holiday decided to drop in. Ordered a pot of tea (apparently it’s only cups they do) cup of tea put in front of us and had a half cupOf hot water and a half portion of milk to do two folk I had a coffee Just asked for a normal coffee.. Asked for more milk got the impression we were asking for the keys to the cafe. Cakes where unfortunately not up to much and £9 later.. so other customers who wanted to get a cup of tea ohh they do pots of tea after all but only by the looks of it if your more than one wanting a pot! So after the expensive half cup of hot water and tea bag we both agreed not value for money... my advice if your charging for hot water at least give customers a pot.. will we back? Likely not sorry very poor service and poor value for money..

Never had anything that was not first class. From HUGE scones, drool worthy Yorkshire pudding wrap, all day breakfast, and judging by the way our two Border Terrorists Dexter and his son Boomer wolf their pup cakes. It also gets their seal of approval. Great service from the friendly, but busy staff, and keen pricing. Will keep us coming back for more. Visited the eastgate cafe for lunch on Monday, first time at the jammy piece, bad first impression as the tables were dirty and we were served with chipped crockery!I ordered their signature sandwich, also called the jammy piece. Was offered it toasted and thought that sounded good, the sandwich is advertised as crispy prosciutto ham with brie and red onion jam, what I actually got was some very small and very dry brown bread toast, oily prosciutto which wasn't very nice and certainly not crispy, and a tiny slither of brie, a joke of a signature dish, and at £23 for two sandwiches two drinks and two slices of cake an absolute liberty!Would not recommend it at all!

With very few options available in the Eastgate food court, we opted to try some of the food and coffees at Jammy Piece on a quiet Saturday. Even though I was very tempted to stuff the delicious looking cakes in my face having just left the gym, I had some restraint and picked one of their sandwiches. I was admittedly surprised at their different options for fillings - compared to the typical fare - so picked the "Taste of Asia" sandwich. Chicken, coriander, peppers, satay sauce and crispy noodles. I also had it toasted. It was a solid sandwich! A little sweet, some very mild spice, but I think the lack of crispy noodles (ommited) was needed. I was happily munching away until I had the second half, which was blighted by tiny bones (intially thought to be the missing noodles). After picking them out of my craw, I happily finished the rest of the sandwich. The other two in my group were pleased with their choices - half and half sandwiches of the Taste of Asia and a Mediterranean mix. Overall, I'd probably go again but this time for the cakes.

Had a lovely lunch here earlier today with one of the highlights being it is dog friendly, even going as far as to provide a pupcake for the dog and he absolutely loved it. Will definitely return when back in the area.

Great little cafe. Happy, comfortable and not too big, with excellent staff and a menu for everyone.

This is not a one off review of the JP, as we visit their frequently! The sort of wholesome food that warms your insides and fills you up nicely! Also dogs are welcome and atmosphere is warm positive vibes and the food really is excellent value for the money. Can not recommend highly enough!

Visited on recent trip north and I am slightly confused. I found the service to be very friendly and efficient, the food was nice and value for money. Thus all in all a nice place, very much worth visiting, and yet? I really don't know, but for some reason it just didn't quiet work for me. Perhaps during the summer, sitting outside watching the boast go by on the Caledonian Canal would be lovely. Maybe it was just me on the day.Would I try again, yes. Am I planning to rush back, no. I certainly would advise that if you're in the area give it a try. It's a bit quirky and maybe for me the quirks in this place just don't work.

We found this little gem on a walk from Inverness Centre along the Caledonia Canal. By the time we reached the cafe we were ready for our morning coffee and we were not disappointed. The cheese scones were absolutely delicious, as was the jammy flapjack traybake and the cappuccino was made exactly to our liking.

Wow what a lovely dog friendly cafe this is. The cheese scones are to die for, just gorgeous. We had coffees and cheese scones sat with our lovely dog in the warm and dry brilliant thank you. The cafe is in a lovely spot at the side of the swing bridge and a welcome break after walking over the nature reserve from South Kessock. Staff very friendly too.
