The best restaurants in Scotland

Pre-Reservamos una fiesta de 10 para las 8 pm los domingos. Llegamos a tiempo a un restaurante casi vacío. Tuvimos que pedir para pedir bebidas. Tuvimos que pedir para ordenar algunos poppadoms. Tuvimos que pedir a los platos principales. Se volcaron a otros clientes y les dijeron que el restaurante estaba completamente reservado (estaba vacío aparte de nosotros). Los poppadoms estaban deliciosos. La cerveza de barril se había acabado. Sospecho que también se les acabó la comida. 90 minutos después de llegar aún no teníamos nuestros principales. Con un tren para coger les dijimos que tendríamos que salir en otros 5 minutos si no había comida. Platos (calientes) llegaron. Todavía en la comida después de otros 10 minutos. No hay explicación de la gestión de la demora. Finalmente, nos dimos por vencidos, pagamos por bebidas y poppadoms, y nos fuimos para tomar el último tren con el estómago vacío. NO UN RENDIMIENTO IMPRESIONANTE.

Went out for pub lunch and discovered this gem. Very friendly staff. Good sized portions and very yummy food. Really enjoyed my experience here. Thank you to all the staff for making my lunchtime in Braemar absolutely lovely!

Fish and chips was good, Sunday roast was ok

Came here because the reviews rate it so highly. Well I can tell you it’s absolutely awful here. Service incredibly slow for two gypsy creams and two coffees. We waited about fifteen minutes for it and it wasn’t busy at all. Staff uninterested and just like to pass the time talking to one another for a long while, and then finally getting your order done. Avoid.

Visited with a friend for tea, booked for 5.30 and it was very busy, greeted by a luvly man who showed us to our table (no 20) through the back. Ordered our food, a mushroom and halloumi to share which was very nice. Then a Iskender + chicken shish and an mixed Iskender also very tasty. A great atmosphere in the restaurant as a lot of party tables. All the servers worked very hard. Will return :) :)

They have a great selection of drinks, and extremely friendly, they added a new cocktail mixer tap to the bar. Which is a delight around here. Absolutely lovely

Highly recommend this restaurant. Pre - theatre deal is great value , the black pudding bruschetta a real highlight

The Staff at cool gourmet were very friendly, the menu and food were excellent , quaint little cafe in Stonehaven just off the harbour, best Cullen skink I've had in scotland will definitely visit again when I return.

Walked into this little gem on a cold Tuesday afternoon having just cycled from North Berwick. I was absolutely starving! Ordered a panini and swapped out the salad and crisps for chips. Food was excellent. Service 10/10. They had just cleaned the back room as were closing soon but sat us no problem. Even got a few more chips (which were amazing btw) as said was so hungry. Wife had panini as well. Will defo be back. Love the open fire. Thanks. 👏

The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was delicious as normal!! Even on a quiet night the atmosphere was great

Disfrutamos de otra visita al Tartán. Lugar muy popular y puede entender por qué. Muy cómodo ambiente amable y excelente personal. Comida encantadora y todo recién preparado y con mucho el mejor café de la ciudad! Volveremos pronto.

Not a great deal of choice for lunch, had. Panini which could have been cooked a bit longer so the cheese was fully melted. Very miserable with ham. 2 panini’s and 2 gingers was £17.60 which for the price I expected a bit more filling

Hotel looks uninviting from outside but inside the decor and soft furnishings are excellent. The three course meal was delicious and the staff were well trained friendly and polite

Pleasant environment with vast food menu and prices which are just about acceptable. Drinks have a high mark up and could benefit from a slight reduction. The food appeared within a reasonable time and was a satisfactory temperature and flavour. Menu would benefit by offering more healthy options for kids and perhaps allowing them to choose pasta dishes half price. The menu includes chips too often to be authentically Italian and modern kids do not eat chips with everything. Decent coffee on offer. We eat here often and service is usually efficient. Some serving staff are friendly and engaging whilst others are not. One final tip - get some tongs to handle biscotti and don’t use hands!!
