Popped in for a handy quick brunch before checking into our hotel, food amazing, sadly didn't get to try a filled cookie but looked yum, such quirky decor, and their flat white is to die for, visited every morning for our coffee fix

Great ratios of bread to bacon in the bacon roll. Lovely cappuccino too. Would recommend to anyone looking for a breakfast while out and about in Edinburgh.

We had cranberry - apple tea which was nice and 2 cookies which were tasteless and heavy. I believe the cookies are provided from a supplier though and the brownies I have ordered before are delicious. My boyfriend said the toilet was tiny. The cafe seemed very cramped.

Enjoyable visit to Zebra, friendly cheery staff, great coffee and pastries. Ideal for a quick stop to recharge in the city.

Dirty tables and toilets. Luke warm coffee. Chipped cups. Stale and chewy croissants. Rude staff who didn’t stop sniffing. Overpriced. Avoid.

Super yummy cookies, we tried the Nutella and M&M ones. They ran out of breakfast tea but that’s ok as I had a hot chocolate instead.

The place was incredible, the leafs hanging from the ceiling are whimsical, and the service is great, incredible! I got a salted caramel cookie that was amazing, and the waiter was so nice, I was having a bad day and this coffee with foam art turned it around. They even gifted me a cookie! We stumbled upon this little place while walking around town. The window display of HUGE cookies got my attention! We got one to split, because they were so big, and ended up returning two more times for cookies during our stay in Edinburgh. The young gal who served me was very friendly, even though they were quite busy while we were there. Although I like cookies to be baked a big longer, these were quite tasty!

Disappointed... sausage and egg roll... simple enough ... no butter on the roll, two sausages, not cut, hard and cold fried egg, very dry.....not offered knife, serviette or sauce, had to go to till to ask for them. Coffee was luke warm, and again had to ask for teaspoon and sugar... not impressed

Was pleasantly surprised to have stumbled across this quaint and quirky coffee shop. The menu is unique, tasteful and varied and most crucially the atmosphere is extremely welcoming. You can tell the staff know their craft well and take pride in their service. Would highly recommend to any likeminded coffee lovers such as myself.

Nice sandwiches, cosy back room and courtyard but don't go here unless you're prepared for a wait - service is disorganised and slow.

Popped in for brunch, and had the best food we could have hoped for. The staff were so friendly and full of smiles. They clearly enjoy working there and it really showed. It's a small venue, so you might need to wait if you go at peak times, but it will be worth it!

Petit café, situé dans le centre de la ville (tout près de la Royal Mile) et très agréable. Il ne paye pas forcément de mine vu de l’extérieur mais leur vitrine vous donnera envie d’entrer (des cookies enoooorme) et vous serait ensuite séduit par la déco intérieur, cosy et chaleureuse. Nous y avons testé les scones et c’était un délice (juste dommage qu’il ne propose pas de Whipped cream pour aller avec!). Nous avons trouvés les prix (pour une fois dans cette ville) tout à fait corrects. Mention particulière pour leur attention de fin de journée : quand ils ont des restes, ils les proposent gratuitement à l’entrée de leur café après fermeture !

Pancakes are beautifully light and fluffy, plenty of maple syrup. Sandwich lovely too with salad and nachos, latte coffee quite strong but better strong than too milky, service great, great little shop, great staff, great ordering system via app pay on leaving.

This is only a small place but the coffee and cranberry rocky road cake I had were very nice indeed. The chap behind the counter was pleasant enough too. The toilet facilities are down a steep set of winding stairs but are perfectly adequate.

Food here was black and white bland. Also spending £9.50 on a full Scottish breakfast I expected a full serving, what they gave me was a baby portion. In the future they should lower the prices. Stairs downstairs are unusually creaky and dangerous for big feet. Staff were okay but seemed to be rushed. Decor is fancy though.

A cheerful and delicious breakfast in a cosy cafe down a side street. Perfect for something a little less touristy and with local very friendly staff. Positive vibes and nice decor. Would recommend for young travellers or those travelling by themselves or pairs.

My husband and I loved the coffee and cakes. He had an Americana and I had a soy cap. Generally the coffee in GB is very poor. This place was an exception and a welcome relief after what passed for coffee at our hotel!

We visited this lovely little cafe on our trip to Edinburgh and we were impressed. The coffee was well made by a friendly barista and the hot chocolate was rich and creamy but not sickly sweet. It is a nice, very small cafe but makes good use of the space it has.

Good luck was with us again as we searched for a bit of breakfast. Our lattes were perfect and served quickly. My scone couldn’t have been better and my wife raved about her banana bread. This is a friendly little place that we would certainly return to.

We were really looking forward to returning to “the tiny Zebra Cafe” after our last visit a couple of years ago. We sort of shared breakfast with one full Scottish and one portion of Nutella pancakes. Everything was delicious! Looking forward to picking up some tasty looking brownies/blondies very soon!

Went here for some late breakfast and much needed coffee. We love zebras and thought this was quite apt for us. Would definitely recommend this for a little break from the walking or a way to start your day.

Zebra is a tiny little coffee shop which can so easily be bypassed. Just off the Royal Mile it is a go-to for those who live in the area. The staff are always young and friendly; the coffee is always good and fairly priced; lots of cakes, sandwiches, filled rolls to choose from.

Called in here after being lured by the window full of tempting brownies. Great little team, really friendly, best tasting coffee in Edinburgh and lovely little touches such as a carafe of water served with the coffee, without needing to ask.

This place is lovely inside and my friend and I enjoyed two coffees. Despite being relatively busy we were served quickly and the coffees were lovely. The white chocolate Oreo brownie was good too.

Cappuccino was smooth and cup was fully compostable! Interestingly the lid was also compostable and drinking through it, as I walked about Edinburgh's old town, I noticed it didn't impart that horrible plastic taste to the coffee that the old earth destroying lids used to. So tastier and greener!

Called on Tuesday as the brownies looked lovely in the window. Wasn't sure if he had to wait be seated or could just find a seat ourself, The young man making coffee who was about a foot away from us never lifted his head to help us, then a young girl came out from the kitchen walked past us ignoring us & walked over to chat to the young man making coffee they exchanged what they need to say to each other still ignoring us she then went back to the kitchen. I had to double check we hadn't unintentionally put on a harry potter invisible cloak as we were totally invisible to the staff here. ( we hadn't!)

I called in here for a coffee, and the brownies looked excellent, so I ordered a nutella one. It was really delicious, the coffee had a really nice distinctive flavour too. All in a nice relaxed environment with decent music, I even bought two more to take home. The barista was really friendly, I think it was his first few days there, but he fitted in well.

We wanted a coffee-to-go and found this beautiful little place. It has a personal style and they play really good music too Great service, and when I came out- I saw all the delicious brownies they had, so I just had to go inside again and bring a piece with chocolate & cheesecake. Popped in here as close to the Royal Mile, for breakfast. Had a bacon and egg breakfast roll. Was excellent, great quality bacon. Coffee also great. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Paid around £6.50 for a 2 filling roll and coffee. Also bought 2 flavoured brownies for later on which we have just eaten and they were really tasty. Would highly recommend.
